Asham in East Riding of Yorkshire

Been coming here 20+years, favourite Indian by far. All the staff are lovely and the food is amazing everytime and very reasonably priced.

Great food (absolutely) four main courses with rice naans and poppadoms.. The quality was first class plus they are great people too.

Just used this place 1st time. Had it delivered to north cave bang on 6pm time asked. Had chicken tiki masala pilau rice. Garlic nam bread. Korma & rice. Food outstanding to say so.friendly telephone manner,friendly delivery guy,food hot,good portions, tastes 10/10. Will definitely be using you again. Thank you x

The best curry for miles and believe me I've tried most of them. Freshly cooked and well worth the wait. The chapati's are delicious.

We drive out here from West Hull at least monthly as we find the staff very friendly and the food is tasty and good value. There are many choices both for both starters & mains (& for various strengths of curries!), so we never get bored. We go to other Indian restaurants too, but particularly like this one

Probably one of the worse Indians I’ve had in a long time. Cheese naan lacked cheese and they said “it’s probably just the type we’ve used that you can’t see it”. No, it had no cheese. Chicken was also hard. Left my comments politely with the guy there but he didn’t seem to want to pass my feedback on. Wouldn’t think of returning. Disappointed.

Sorry to say this was one of the worse curries I have had the mis-pleasure to try. Naga chilly special curry (labeled hot) even asked for it extra hot. It was not, no taste, no chilly and no heat, plus swimming in oil and only just warm to eat, had to microwave it. The pickle tray pots were not even half filled. Sorry to be so negative towards a local business, but this was bad.

The food was delivered nice and hot with generous portions. It was well cooked with tender meat and good rich sauces. Perhaps just a tad more salt would have been good. The stuffed paratha and naan were good too. Rice is included in the price of the curry dish which is a bonus. Will definitely order again.

A very nice genuine curry house that serves very nice food and provides service to back it up . We have eaten here twice and both times have been impressed With the extensive menu and professionalism while providing good table service.

Wonderful range of choice on the extensive menu. Authentic tasting meals with a Bangladeshi emphasis. Vegan and many fish based dishes available. The chef Sham conjours up brilliant tasting tandoori specialities. Although thete is no car park there is always plenty of parking available in the road outside. Takeaways and eat in options are both available. I cant wait to go back due to the great food and friendly welcome.

I am ASHAMed at the quality of food. It was A SHAMbles. Will never go back. Whether they have changed the chef I don't know but maybe it's time for a change.

Welcoming staff serve the the best curry in East Yorkshire its as simple as that. An extensive menu caters for all including vegetarians and vegans. Sit in or take away. Open from 5pm till late.

We are regulars at this place for both take away and sit down service. Great food, amended to suit pallet. Staff have a great sense of humour. Local and visitors must use this place fantastic!!!

Very friendly staff,with an amazing menu. We have had take away and dine in and it is equally as nice. It's never very busy and you can normally sit down straight away.

fancied an indian, someone had recommended here so wanted to try it out. made a telephone order which was taken clearly and quickly. i arrived and its a tidy place and would like to eat in sometime. we had the pickles and popadoms...which was spot on. my main was maybe not quite as good, something just felt it was missing. i don't have indian often so not something i can compare easily. i would give them a second chance and try eating in sometime.

Small restaurant/takeaway, staff very friendly, but food lacks quality, not our favourite place to go for an indian takeaway, best avoided.

Always good food and large portions Traditional and specialty dishes to eat in or take away, Biryani is good

We use this restaurant for takeaways regularly and cannot recommend highly enough - consistently excellent quality and the chefs recommended dishes are amazing. I like a hot curry, if you do too please try the Samber and the Srilankan, both dishes are fab.

If it's not on the menu they will do their best to meet your needs. Friendly good service and great value !

A family meal booked at Asham Indian restaurant in Newport turned out to be a celebration of Indian cuisine. The staff were very friendly,polite and utterly charming.

Have made several Saturday night visits to Asham over the last few months and found the food to be excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful and cant fault this Indian restaurant.

Tried this restaurant for the first time in years (no reason why we haven't been for years).

We visited at Christmas time , looking forward to a nice evening the guy serving looked very inconvenienced that we were there , other tables were looking at each other as if to say is he for real , food was nice would go back

Have only eaten here once on a Friday evening when you would expect the place to be busy. Unfortunately apart from one other table the place was completely empty. The food was very good but the lack of atmosphere spoiled things somewhat.

Siempre se puede decir de un buen restaurante por la temperatura de sus platos y la limpieza de la mesa y alrededores. We frequently visit Asham and have never had a bad experience. Staff are lovely and very friendly. Food is amazing every time. We will continue to dine here.

We go here every few weeks for the buffet and have never had cause for complaint. Much better than Zolsha in Howden. Starters good, yogurt sauce is gorgeous and mains are always flavoursome. :)

Went for the buffet last Sunday and it was really nice. A good selection of starters, salad, rice, nan bread and main courses and all you can eat for £9.95. Everything was cooked fresh and tasty. Will definately go again. The Thursday deal looks good as well.

Another fantastic meal at Asham! Undoubtedly over the years we have been coming here this is now our favourite Indian Restaurant. The food is excellent, the flavours and combination of spices are delicious. The menu is very varied with vegan ,vegetarian , fish and meat dishes adapted to the strength of your choice. The chefs have a very good understanding of dietary issues and if told of these issues will adapt any recipe to suit the needs of the individual. What more can one ask for? Asham staff are always friendly and attentive making everyone most welcome. We highly recommend Asham! An earlier comment stated that Asham advertise delivery but do not deliver. May I correct this ? Asham does deliver take away but as with any restaurant they have to limit the distances they can deliver to.

We stayed in Newport for a week in a log cabin and decided to try the Asham restaurant, we were a group of 5 and we all thoroughly enjoyed the food! We had a variety of starters and mains and all of the party enjoyed the food. Great staff and very helpful!

A spur of the moment decision to go out to Asham for a meal proved to be an excellent decision. We thoroughly enjoyed what we had to eat. We have never been disappointed at Asham and tonight was no exception. If you haven't been then do go and try it out. The Kingfisher beer is quite good as well!

Elected for the Buffet on a Sunday Night...were the only customers....will never go back...food posioning...cream was out of date...when challenged refused to show me the carton...Clearly curdeled, bad smell and rankBuffet was cold old and stale..Avoid go elsewhere..

I have eaten here many times and become a loyal customer, so it pains me to write this. But why do they advertise delivery service, then when you order say this is not possible. After 5 years of eating here i will NEVER go back. Terrible customer service.

The food here is so good that I'm honoured to say that the owner has become a family friend as we have all frequented this restaurant so often. We even had dads special birthday celebration here a few years ago as it's his favourite place too. The food here is so exquisitely put together, the spice blends subtle and moreish and with plenty of fish, meats, veggie AND Vegan options what more could you want! Everyone who works at this family run establishment are just just wonderful, because they are part of a family and a team. I love Ashams it's a special place

We have been to the Asham several times, and liked it every time, so thought it would be a good idea to write up a quick review.The food is very tasty, and consistently good. We have never had a bad meal here. Lots to pick from the menu.The Thursday night banquet menu is fantastic value for money, with a good selection to choose from.Looking forward to our next visit.

I go to asham on a regular basis, for a little restaurant they are great even when jam packed they always find time to take care of you don't think I have ever waited more than 2 minutes for service the food is great and not expensive in fact we are going tonight and can not wait :)

We eat Indian food a lot, but have come here quite a few times recently as there are different dishes / flavours on the menu to what you may find in many other Indian restaurants. There is a wide choice on the menu, including a lot of fish. It is also reasonably priced and parking is easy to find (on the road). Service is good and all the staff very friendly (I believe they travel daily from West Yorkshire to run this place). If you like really hot Indian food, rather than spicy, this may not be the place for you, although I'm sure you can make this known to the waiter

Nicer than expected. Very modern clean dining room. Not cheap but plenty of meat in dishes. Big selection & plenty of vegetarian & fish options. Waiters average but acceptable. Will definitely visit again and will recommend a visit. Much improved on previous restaurant there.

We regularly go on a Sunday evening for the all you can eat buffet. At £7.95 it is fantastic value for money. The food is lovely with a variety of choices available. The staff are friendly, I bring my 2 young children with me when we go and we are all made to feel welcome. 5* - love this restaurant.

I do not know how long the new owners have had this restaurant, but really good now. Excellent service, varied menu.

We have eaten here many times and now they have extended and improved the menu giving an even better choice of some of the more "exotic" Indian cuisine.On Thursdays and Sundays, booking is advised as there are special deals avaiable at exceptional rates. Highly recommended.

Thursday night special, £9.95 was an absolutely amazing you wont be disappointed, the food was superb and great value for money, good portions good quality - but you best book as busy busy busy but 100% worth the wait just a brilliant all-round experience...

Thursday night special, £9.95 for pickle tray, starter, main and side dish with a drink.Pickle tray was your standard fare but enjoyable. Four of us had a variation of starters and they were all excellent, succulent meat in the mixed starter, onion bahji that had great taste and were not swimming in oil, vegetable pakora with lovely light pastry and excellent fresh fillings and even a prawn cocktail that was as good as any in your gastro pubs. The selection of curries we had were as authentic as any we have had and had super flavours. (we had hot down to mild). Rice and naans were excellent and the portion sizes were just right, leaving everyone full without being over-faced. Service was attentive and not rushed.Well worth a visit........

We recently went for the Sunday buffet at the Asham,4pm until 10pm.At £7.95 a head we were expecting usual buffet fare but the quality of the food was excellent.A range from the menu spanned all the favourites and plenty for vegetarians.Very good chicken tikka and aloo pakoras...lovely spicing.My favourite was the lamb naga.We all concurred that it was the best curry we'd had since our holidays in Goa and the service was very good too.Give it a go if in the area,better than a lot we've tried in Bradford and Rusholme in Mcr..excellent !
