The food was absolutely fantastic, and we all thoroughly enjoyed every bite. Our experience was made even better by Lily, who was an absolute delight! Her warm, friendly demeanor and genuine team spirit shone through, making us feel incredibly welcome. Lily’s exceptional service truly elevated our visit. We can’t recommend this place enough!

A lovely relaxing meal overlooking the canal side. We arrived and were greeted by Lily who looked after our order and waited on us with speed and efficiency. I highly recommend the restaurant for reasonable prices and great atmosphere.

Met some friends for late lunch/early dinner, some good offers on for food with a drink. Great service from Lauren at the bar, quick and efficient. Food was good too. Would recommend this restaurant and will come again.

We had a very disappointing meal at The Ash Tree pub in Rugelely. Everything about the service was sub-standard, from the member of the wait staff who was serving us chewing gum whilst she took our orders, to the wrong order being delivered. As a vegetarian, I ordered a salad with crispy coated cauliflower on top, and was disappointed when a salad with chicken arrived instead. Upon explaining to the server that I had not ordered a chicken salad, she asked me if I was sure, and I told her that I was a vegetarian, so yes, I was sure that I had not ordered a chicken salad…… The order was returned to the kitchen, and whilst the rest of my party ate, I waited for my food to be delivered. It eventually came, and I tucked in, only to realise that what I was eating was a salad with crispy coated cauliflower on top and added bits of chicken, still in the salad! When this was sent back to the kitchen, we were told that the chef must have accidentally put the cauliflower on top of wrong salad, as he had 2 bowls there, and just put it on the wrong one – which was a very poor attempt at trying to cover up the fact that he had clearly intended to re-use the old salad by taking off the chicken and putting the cauliflower on top. In this case, it is my choice not to eat meat, and luckily, I suffered no major ill effects after eating the contaminated salad. Other people with serious medical dietary requirements may not be as lucky and should avoid this restaurant at all costs!

We booked a Sunday lunch , waited over half hour no drinks arrived .. had to go to the bar to order .. I then asked how long are food would be and told they will let us know after sitting there over a hour with not one member of staff coming over to even say sorry, we left with people saying they were waiting on food and it had not arrived to .. it was terrible service !

Really bad and I mean really bad website and this site states 11am open can also book at table for 11am So we walked in 15 minutes we was stood in a complete empty pub could have helped ourselves to anything So a girl eventually appeared and I stated we have a table booked at 11am Her reply was "well you know how to take a seat then" topped it off walked out came somewhere with better staff attitude baring in mind we are both in the business ourselves Visit was Friday 7th June 2024 Re train your staff in attitude and how to speak to people in a correct manner and we may consider returning to try again

Really disappointed in the lasagna. Couldn’t eat it but as nobody asked if the meal was ok I couldn’t complain in the restaurant. They saw I hadn’t eaten it and avoided me.

Had 3 course lunch very very good food very tasty staff very friendly and helpful would recommend it to anyone very reasonably priced.

Came in yesterday evening for dinner and had a lovely time, Annie served us and despite overhearing another table being slightly rude to her, she was full of life and so kind and made our night, food and drinks were lovely and we will definitely be coming to visit again! Thank you all!

My son had booked a table for a family meal as it was his daughters birthday we had sat waiting for an hour and half before we got served to order our meals when ordering we got told that there was nothing left on the grill menu this is a total disgrace to be waiting for over an order to order to then get told the food that most of the party wanted they hadn't got any left disgusting will not be returning

Hosted our baby shower here on this date and the staff were above and beyond, nothing was too much trouble. The food was incredible we paid for a silver buffet for 50 and there was enough food to feed 100. Really really tastes mixture of both hot and cold food. Bar staff were quick and efficient at providing us and our guests with drinks too 10/10 will absolutely recommend the Ashtree to everybody! Thank you so much to the manager and his team!! Visited last night for a meal for two. Considering it was so quiet, it took quite a while to get drinks ordered. The starters came out at a reasonable time, but the mains seemed slow. We had to ask for more cutlery when our mains came out as nobody had realised that we hadn't got any after our starters. Unfortunately, we weren't table checked, so we ordered fewer drinks than we would have done. We got up to pay for our bill as still nobody had been to the table (it was still very quiet) and went to the till. The manager served us. What a miserable man! He doesn't look like he is capable of smiling. He never asked if everything had been OK with the meal or any other pleasantries. We'd heard that he wasn't very friendly but were still quite shocked at how miserable he was.

Wouldn’t usually write a review but this place was so bad I won’t ever return, firstly the smell not sure what it is was but it smelt like the toilets where we were seated, so we asked to be moved, which to be fair they let us, we then ordered, only 1 bar staff on, he was very helpful but overworked. We received our meals we ordered a side of 8 beer battered onion rings and received 3 ? In a bowl for £3.75 That mean they cost £1.25 each !!!! no one came over to ask if our meal was ok and didn’t see any other staff to complain to, my son had the half chicken and it was burnt !!! We promptly ate finished our drinks and left, to a queue at the bar - not a great experience

This is a lovely little gem of a pub. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. For me that stands out is the quality of the beer, they certainly know how to look after the lines and it shows with the crisp fresh taste of the beer. Well done The Ash Tree
