No trollies, and half an hour queueing to pay. Useless at customer service, never again

Have shopped with Asda for years and absolutely gutted to receive a fine for 70 pounds for a fee of 50 p. Sort this out as I am no longer prepared to go to a supermarket that charges for parking! Appalling!

Shops great, cafe not so great. I'm a veggie and watched the lady use her hands for food no gloves and no washing hands in between and cut a meat product and then my vegetarian option with the same knife didn't appreciate the carelessness

Popped in to use the post office and receive a £42 fine for parking, no clear signage I saw and why would you expect to pay to park at a superstore? Absolute Joke

Be careful about parking here to do your shopping, our family went to visit and bought a kettle as a present. The parking signs are inconspicuous and Horizon Parking managed to steal £42 in parking fees for a kettle that was bought for only £20. Awful experience I am telling everyone never to buy from Asda ever again for failing to provide customers with free parking. Just terrible!

Like many of these reviews, avoid this store due to the misleading car park. I am not local to Farnborough and I only stopped to quickly grab some lunch on Saturday 31st August around midday which was probably at its busiest time of the day. The signage is so incredibly poor that I wasn’t even aware that you had to pay for this car park. Especially as it’s at a supermarket. The person I was with didn’t even realise you had to pay too. The ticket machines are not clearly visible either. I was completely taken by surprise to receive a £70 parking fine from Horizon Parking. I checked out the car park on google street view and around the area I parked in there are NO signs anywhere around that area. The car park is so misleading and it is not made clear at all that you are required to pay. These parking companies are literally legalised scammers. It’s disgusting. I will attempt to contest this but judging by other peoples luck, I will most likely get nowhere and will inevitably have to pay the fine.

This is my nearest Asda but I am not a regular shopper due to having other stores closer to me. I went this morning to have a look at the clothes as I have often found something that is cheap and good quality. Today I came out happy with a dress and a 10kg bag of rice on offer at a great price! Looking at the reviews many of the 1 star reviews are to do with car parking which should be directed to reviews of the car park, not the store. In my opinion there is plenty of signage in the car park and directly outside the Asda entrance/exit there are 5 pay stations. I fail to see how anybody could not notice these….. The store itself is almost always too busy at the tills for the size of it and there is little space between the tills and the aisles so queues can seem worse than they are, in my opinion. Clearly more staff are needed but I think this can be said of many supermarkets and other types of businesses, such as restaurants. However, I did notice that after only half an hour after opening the clothing section was extremely messy and it did not look like it had been tidied up the night before, I guess this falls to the section manager to sort out (please do!). Annoyingly there is no changing room and only 1 narrow mirror in the ladies section that I could find, there was a queue of people waiting to to use it and no one likes trying something on in front of strangers!

Shopped here a couple of times only to be hit with the same number of parking fines. Have never come across a setup like this which requires paying customers to pay extra to park on their premises...The signage indicating this is lacking and so is are the number of kiosks to pay at. Won't be shopping here again

Whenever I order online through anyone of the delivery partners I can never get my order delivered. I was so frustrated that I called the delivery driver, poor chap was like when he was at the pickup point the staff keep telling him there’s no one packing the order and they do not know the wait times. Please turn off your tablets if you are not going to deliver.

Parking scam ! do NOT go to this store. They issue you with a £70 penalty in the mail, if you use the supermaket parking to..go to the supermarket. Absolute shame.

Omg the toilets omg omg omg I’ve never felt so sick in my life first of all the laides toilet and baby changing was not working so only disabled toilet was in use and there was only one toilet waited for 20 min when I got in there the smell was so bad it had to cover my nose and piss the smell was like someone had wiped poo all over the walls and thje sprayed a whole bottle of fart spray the actual shopping the tills were so slow this whole Asda a disappointment

Absolutely disgusting set up designed to deceive. Popped in for 10 minutes to grab drinks for my sons football tournament, leaving husband and kids in the car. Have now been issued a £70 fine. I have never heard of needing to pay parking for a supermarket car park if staying for less than 2 hours. Signage was not clear and the car park should have barriers and tickets if they actually wanted customers to pay for parking as it is not customary for any car parks of this nature. I would MUCH rather have paid 50p for parking than a £70 fine. I can see by the number of people reviewing the same system that this is a flaw with the system, not the customer.

Shopped here for years never had problems using self scan but i do now use click and collect .staff are friendly and helpful

Really dont want to go Asda because of Horizon parking. paid parking by Cash , machine did not provide receipt when requeated. Later I got parking penalty , appeal refused and must pay fine to greedy company as I did not had evidence to provide.

I recently shopped at Asda Farnborough 8 June 2024. I received a parking fine for £70, from Horizon Parking, the onus on me to prove I was shopping, of course I do not have an Asda Receipt, as we no one keeps these... It reflects in my bank, took a photo with my phone of bank transaction to upload on Horizons Portal, which I had to register with in order to appeal against fine... all this for shopping at Asda. Will never shop there again Still don't know if it will be over turned or not. No humans available on phone to discuss at Asda or Horizon also have to follow up with a letter. Clearly this is made difficult so shoppers will just give up and PAY

I don't usually choose to shop at Asda, mainly due to poor experience when I have shopped there in the past. However, I was lucky enough to have been given a voucher, so I did my weekly shop today. The experience wasn't great - firstly, I didn't have a £1 coin or a token to obtain a trolley. I asked the very nice and polite person who was collecting trolleys what I should do, and was given a trolley free of charge, on the proviso I'd return it, as apparently many people do not. First red flag. We did our shopping. It was OK, apart from the many crates etc in front of the shelves. Since I had a voucher, I thought it sensible to go to an actual checkout with a person on the till . There was only one available, with a large queue. Second red flag. I was directed to a self service checkout for trolleys. About half of the self service checkouts were out of use; and the poor member of staff manning them was run ragged, bless her. Having put all our items through the checkout, we bagged them up and went to pay. Third red flag. Apparently there was a 'glitch' in the system which meant vouchers couldn't be accepted. Having no other means to pay, this was upsetting, to say the least. Not to mention embarrassing! We were forced to leave our week's shopping behind, in our own bags! A wonderful member of staff asked us what we urgently needed (milk and cat food) and paid for this out of her own pocket! What an absolute angel! We are exceptionally grateful to this fantastic lady, who is a total credit to Asda and customer service in general. I told her I'd pay it forward, and I definitely will do so. That said, her kindness shouldn't have been necessary. Asda - you need to up your game. If there's a problem with accepting vouchers - put a noticeable sign on the front door, before people do their shopping. It's not difficult! This is a prime example of why I don't choose to shop at Asda. It might be 'cheap' with prices (although that's debatable) but it's certainly 'cheap' with customer care. To add insult to injury, I was also charged to park my car. I will attempt to spend my voucher in a different branch, although I don't hold out much hope. Morrisons is so much better!

Saturday 8th June. Being stopped on the way out of Asda even though I paid and had a receipt and no alarm came on. No one even apologised. Instead the security man being arrogant and intimidating like an interrogation at police station. Rather than picking random people and humiliating them, staff should actually concentrate on people who are stealing. I have no words to explain how disgraceful and disrespectful the security was, including to my 82 year old mother! Also the lady, another security who initially stopped me, she also did not even say sorry.

And now I remember why I don’t like Asda Farnborough! Slow service and well understaffed management just walk off when you try and flag someone down at self scan nobody on tills and a pointless 10 minutes standing there waiting for someone to authorise our id check. Management seriously sort yourself and staff out!

Instore experience is bad. Loads of mouldy bread on the shelf today. I noticed that the naan breads mostly had one or two days left on them and that the later ones had been pushed to bottom/back so its clearly intentional store policy; Before, these would have been taken out and marked down on a separate shelf. The lady across the aisle was pointing out all the mould on the bread that side to a shop assistant and picking out items that were already two day PAST sell-by!! Asda need new management. Stupidly, I didn't check the pitta breads. Grabbed one pack that had 2 days left on it, got it home and every one had mould on it. Only way to get a refund is to go all the way back to the store.

Asda in Farnborough has gone down hill very fast, on tills open because there are no staff. There reward scheme does not alway work, I spent £439 and the checkout lady says it will not scan because I had to many items. What a joke ,so I lost all my rewards for over £400, a was talk nothing could be done, again what a joke . Will not be using Asda again, Tesco here I come at least you can rely on there reward card a very angry Mr. Goldsworthy

Absolutely awful customer service! After waiting in line for customer service, in which they served one person, I approached the counter and the woman serving just left to talk with her colleagues. She didn’t say anything and spent the next ten minutes just chatting with a colleague at the entrance and paid no attention to me. I left and will never return. What a complete contradiction for “customer service”.

Omg today was the worst experience due to staffing or should I say hardly any staff to copy with helping customers at self service tills ,one customer was waiting nearly 10 minutes with 4 others waiting for help at checkouts to get something authorize and this was in the new trolley area , So many customers were extremely unhappy. I asked to speak to store manager and they are on day off.SO ASAD support you staff to help them cope with with their job and help customers respect and support your staff and for customers to have a good if not great experience shopping at your store

After many years of regular visits but now rarely used, a chance grocery shop on 11th March 2024 was a real eye opener to how bad this ASDA has become. Locals I know say it's been going downhill for years now and hard to understand the good comments posted. Ripoff carpark fees and harsh penalties although not just for Asda to be fair. Self service has almost totally replaced the manned checkouts, only three available on our visit. Half empty shelves everywhere, shortages of favourites with ridiculous prices in general. Some items are cheaper at local corner stores or CoOps and they're not cheap. Friendly and helpful staff however, they seem embarrassed when you point out the shortcomings and said a lot of people mention it. Asda like Southwood Morrisons no longer worthy unless desperate. Very surprised they don't have a long hard look at nearby Lidl and Aldi's. They are far better alternatives which do it so much better. Local Sainsbury is good, though usually more expensive for the same branded products but all have free parking.

Do not buy any Asda brand poor quality electrical items Purchased a Asda George Home Microwave just over a year ago, The product came with a 2 year guarantee. rust began appearing in the oven area after only 6 weeks and now badly corroded. he oven stopped working due to a different fault only to be told by Asda you are not covered and theirs nothing they can do, even though I have 9 months guarantee left. Never had problems with other companies. Will never buy another poor quality Asda product again. Stick to other brand supermarkets and brand name products in future. Very poor service.

Always short of staff on checkouts. Specially self checkouts. One person for 20+ checkouts also looking after they trolly shops. Wasted 15 mins today to wait for someone to assist.

The car park is pay on exit. I simply forgot to pay as I’m used to paying on arrival and soon later received a letter and opened it on Mother’s Day. It made me so upset on this special day when celebrating with my little one.

When all the covid hoo-ha started, the queue to get in went halfway to B&Q, but there's no queue at all now. I've always shopped at Asda and found them quite good. Online shopping is hit-and-miss, but instore it's fine. Watch out for sell-by dates, though. Finally! They've discovered the 21st century! The carpark now takes cards; pay on exit. First 15 mins are free. Edit: they've stung me twice recently with prices. If you're buying household goods, check the advertised price is correct before going to the till. They're getting dodgy lately.

It's my nearest shopping place to me that I can go on my disable scooter & I can stay on it in the shops but the shops in Princess mead I have to get off & walk into the shops but the only shop in the mead I can ride into is boots

This Asda is by far the worst that we've ever been to, and we will never put 1 penny over their counter again, not only do you have to pay to park while you shop but they've never got anything restocked on shelves, everything we wanted was gone, it was like lockdown all over again, staff more interested in collecting baskets than helping customers, this place is a disgrace so avoid like the plague

Store NEVER has certain wines when they have offers on. Has happened to me many times over the last year. Understaffed at the tills, poor staff running around trying to help everyone. After 10 mins of waiting to have my purchase authorised I walked out and went to another Supermarket

Very good supermarket, you can find everything you can imagine, whether you want food, household supplies, utensils, prepared food, bakery, etc. There are bathrooms in this place although they always smell bad. There is very good parking, the location is good. There is a KFC inside, there are pharmacies among other types of businesses. You can pay by card, cash, check out yourself or go to the cashier alone. You can pay for a single purchase with different payment methods such as cash, card and gift cards. The truth is that it is a very complete supermarket at competitive prices, of course it is a Walmart.

Went shopping, and all check out was closed, and was sent to self scan , not a good way for customers service took much longer, had to keep asking for help, had a big shop, this is not away to cut staff, people don’t want that kinda services, was only 8 at night, was ready just to walk out and leave the shopping trolley !!!

Beware: paid parking at this store! Our first visit was rewarded with a £110 parking fine (£70 fine + £40 admin fee from car rental company). We had no idea that it was paid parking and looking at the parking lot via Google Streetview it's clear why: The signage is inadequate. I called the store last night and they said that I have to take it up with the parking company. Hopefully they'll be able to help. Edit: reading some more reviews here suggests that the store can help to cancel parking fines. Asda, can you help please?

Worst staff and management - no cleanliness. All they care about is money and think people are animals cuz they don’t give no shiy to customer services.

The shop we've been shopping at every weekend for about 6 years. I spend an average of 200 pounds for a family of 4. I am satisfied with the prices, but the parking lot is a bit inadequate on weekends and I was fined 70 pounds once because I forgot to pay and left:) It seems that it will continue to be indispensable for a long time due to its location and proximity to the shopping center.

Asda, cheap and cheerful can’t complain at that. But their policy on selling alcohol to people is completely ridiculous and makes absolutely no sense. I can walk in with my 8 year old niece (who obviously has no ID) and get served enough booze to run a bar all night, yet when my 33 year partner is with myself (who looks great for her age but not 17) and my niece we cannot be served a bottle of wine for new years. Absolutely ridiculous and a waste of time.

Not happy about paying for parking. Asda should have made a deal before renting out the lot so that parking is free for its customers. If the owner is going to reply to this, actually provide information about parking isntead of "we are looking into this" pretending like you don't know the problem exists.

Went to asda this evening with my disabled son for him to get his shopping we normally go on the 24th am but late opening not open till 10 am so went this evening big mistake we used a different car so had to register it for free parking oh my i wish I had just .payed up front the staff were so disrespectful and passive aggressive I left the help desk and done my shopping on way out i said to my son in ear shot of staff the one who was rude to me I will pay for parking rather than having to put up with the contents i was really upset and surprised when she ran from behind the counter to aggressively have another go at me i was outraged and want the manager to get in touch as when I rang to complain she pretend i was nasty so as not to get in trouble im so upset that people can lie like this im 67 years old and will never go in that shop again she is a lier and needs some training or the sack . When I rang and they said she was cryng i thought it was because she was sorry for her behaviour but no. and the person I was speaking to made it quite clear see believed the staff member and not me I've been left feeling distressed to say the least I feel it was a waste of my time phoning them. I done that in the hope some other elderly person would not be made to feel the same way I was I do hope the manager will have the decency to phone.me some people really should.not work where they have to speak and help the public

Had to wait for my shopping to be checked at the Scan and Go as everyone was being flagged and the poor guy was doing his best on his own with lots of customers needing full scans, also because of this I forgot to scan my rewards and vouchers so I'm annoyed as well 😡 why do you have two bloody apps and not the ability to add your rewards card to the scan app?

I love Asda but loathe the convoluted and easily/deliberately misleading car parking in this busy retail complex. My wife and I popped into Asda on Sunday 19th November at approximately noon to peruse the clothing department and purchase a couple of lottery tickets. We purchased the tickets with cash and, as often we do with small cash purchases, didn't bother to have a receipt printed. Back to our car and off home. A few days later a letter from Horizon parking with a fine for non payment of parking charge. How can I now prove to them we actually did visit and purchase from Asda? A far bigger question is just how 'legal' is it for these parking companies, such as Horizon', to seemingly be able to conjure an absurd and ludicrous amount for a fine which can be hundreds of times higher than the actual car park charge?? Who can I contact? The car park wasn't that busy either! I am more than willing to pay the exact amount for our 45 minute stay.

Farnborough ASda. The cigarette counter. Always massive queues. Due to. One person run off her feet. Doing two jobs. Returns and cigarette. There should be two people. That would cut down the queues and keep people happy.

Nathaniel at trolley checkout is extremely rude and aggressive for no reason. I was talking to another worker and he literally interrupted us mid conversation very hostile started shouting at me and my girlfriend. The one and only time I don’t shop at Tesco!

One of your drivers "Birdhoj" DID NOT follow delivery instructions which clearly said to leave in the bloody porch room the delivery order WHICH was delivered in the past in the exact same location AND is deemed a safe place by mail orders and others except this individual this evening.... SO guess what? I expected the order and is not there at all then i see it's bloody cancelled and instructions not followed as i CLEARLY wrote them.....If the order gets cancelled again, I'll give as many stars of 1 grade as possible until your overall score will be 1......What kind of useless service is this????One time they deliver well and another time no.....is it like bloody weather or what?

Terrible signage, got a £70 parking ticket for less than an hour's stay. They don't have any email address I can find or contact information. Phone number is automated and sends you round in circles or to the Asda website which sends you back to the same phone number. Asda Farnborough please contact me.

Asda is a store that gives me value for my money the fruit & veg is always fresh and Asda has a lot of products including household I do my weekly and daily shopping at this store it's open at 6 in the morning so it's convenient for me,5 stars all day long the only fault I find with the store is the AI checkouts which I don't like to use

Self service tills a bit difficult to use.

I have been shopping at asda for many years, and will carry on doing so. But what is up setting me now you should have app and a card. So we all can get points.

Ridiculous recived a parking ticket the signs are clearly not visible spent many hundreds off pounds with asda if I could see there was a parking charge I would have paid a few pounds now I'm told I have to pay £70 and recived the PCN over 2 weeks after even visiting the store all I got to say is your losing customers asda really quickly .....

Usually get shopping delivered with no issues but the last 24 hours have been ridiculous. Ended up missing almost all of my frozen food. Rang the customer care team to request a refund and they accused us of lying and apparently never ordering certain items, even though I had proof of purchase. Couldn't believe the cheekiness of the people on the other end of the phone. Won't be shopping here anytime soon.

Shocking service at the click and collect department. Waited over half an hour for the order only for the manager/supervisor to tell me to not bother coming back when I told him I want to cancel the order. Multiple other customers also waiting for their orders. Went to complain at the desk in store and they said they will call the supervisor to speak to me. I dont want to speak to him after he said that to me. I just turned around and left.

Absolutely shocked by the elderly racist ladies, asda staff I may add.. purely targeting a 2 young lads because of their skin colour.. Absolutely shocking. Get better security... not the old hag who looks homeless and is clearly a racist.

Visited this store today to buy some Patio furniture and we were pleasantly surprised at the help and assistance we were given by the staff. In particular a young man named Jamie, who was so helpful and assisted us in getting the very large box from the store and into our car. It's very rare today to find young shop assistants who are this helpful, many thanks Jamie.

Be ware, many shops , Asda supermarket and restaurants around, because waiting for KFC orders, overly stay a few minutes because the kids, then can not able to pay in parking fee, try to explain by calling horizon parking, never answering calls. It's a cruel fishing trap. I am waiting for the £ 70 charge to come.

Got harassed at the checkout by a small man dressed in a blue tracksuit (no Asda uniform or identification) accusing me of stealing product which i had just paid for. Said he was following me around the store and made me feel extremely discriminated because of my age. Will never ever be returning, this man needs to be fired.

Some aspects are good such as price but not by much. Fresh produce is definitely going downhill. Either stock run out or poor quality over the last 6 months. Fresh veg does not have much life in it and chicken breasts are as described in the industry as "woody" meaning it is tough and used to be passed into the animal food chain. Steaks are not much better. . Definitely going downhill in my opinion

Very efficient service and well stocked

I was expecting my home delivery between 2pm - 3pm today, I live in a First floor flat, I saw the driver arrive so went and opened the door and got my bags ready, 30 seconds later I saw him going back the other way so assumed that he had forgotten something! When he had not returned 10 minutes later I checked my account and was stunned to see that the order had been cancelled. There are 2 phone numbers on my account if there was a problem finding the address why not call me (as previous drivers have done before). Customer service said that the driver arrived at 14.14 and left at 14.18, this was totally untrue as I have a ring doorbell downstairs and can see anyone arriving. I have home delivery as I am partially disabled, the delivery also included groceries for my elderly neighbour who is 80 years old and is unable to do his own shopping (neither of us drive)I was unable to speak to someone at the store. I have been a customer of Asda Farnborough since it opened but no more, I will be shopping elsewhere from now on.

Unfortunately couldn’t rate 1 star. What an absolute scam. I was working away and called into Asda for a sandwich for my launch and lo and behold I’ve been told by my company that I got a parking ticket. £40 fine plus £35 admin fee as it’s a lease van. So that sandwich cost me £75 plus (a days wage) and I never even saw any parking fee signs let alone expected to be charged for a superstore car park. Cost of living is expensive enough without these fat cats sucking extra out your pocket for using their store to shop. Plenty of work close by but will be advising the rest of the site team to avoid this place like the plague. Scamming the good public very shadily.

Got Easter eggs delivered with home shopping just opened it smashed to bits ,also when they pack the shopping in totes the insist on mixing clean chemicals like washing liquid ,toilet clean and bleach in with food items so when it inevitably leaks on the food which means sending it back
