Paths much better almost walkable without getting too muddy. Woodland area going up the hill needs some work to improve the path. A nice walk overall. Would be nice if dog walkers could read and actually respect "keep your dog on a lead!" Plus pick up after it it isn't difficult!!

A small reservoir attended by many geese. A trail surrounds it and the Long Man of Wilmington was visible from the path by the lake. However the visibility is hampered by a large hedgerow with occasional viewing cutouts. Facilities were good at the time I visited. Footpaths are gravelled so some care is needed if mobility is restricted. Picnic tables, benches and information signage provided numerously.

Beautiful walk around the lake, lots of birds and hideout viewing area. The walk takes you past a pretty farm with ponies and a beautiful view of a church in the distance. Dog and children friendly, cafe and clean toilets. Parking is not free and spaces are limited. Get there early and take wellies if wet.

Lovely walk but very regimental with so many signs telling you not to do this and not to do that, cannot let your Dog off the lead as it has been made into a nature reserve but to be very frank it's a bit OTT...the nature is probably much out of harms way anyhow, especially with my rather sedate Spaniel but I guess a Greyhound or hunting dog poorly trained would have a field day, little sit outside cafe with a lovely little garden, someone has worked hard.

A really nice circular walk. It was very windy around the wall of the reservoir, and you couldn't do this route with a mobility scooter as there are gates to go through. The pram was able to fit no problem though. Parking all day was £2.50 and there is a small hut to get food and drinks from just by the toilets which were very clean.

This could be a great family/dog/older person walk but unfortunately all the joy has been sucked out of it. The only signs are ones that list 12 things you can’t do. You’re tightly corralled on a gravel path with little to see and bushes have been planted blocking the view of the reservoir from the picnic area! It’s in a beautiful setting and it’s tranquil but it could be so much more with a little thought and friendliness.

I know that this is a reservoir for drinking water but they seem to have gone totally over the top protecting the site to the detriment of visitors. There are high hedges along much of the path so it feels like you're walking in a hedge row without any view of the reservoir. You can't cycle, can't have bbqs, can't swim, can't do much of anything. It just feels like the people who manage it have done the minimum amount to make the place useable for the public rather than thinking creatively about what they could do to make it special for all.

It's probably three and a half. The good thing is this is a great place for birds but I think watching them could be better. A hide at the north west corner would allow us humans to see more without disturbing the birds. The cafe is a great facility and I recommend the toasties and bacon sandwiches. Car parking should be free but isn't and for me was a bit of a faf - (two cards needed to get a result) I saw swallows for the first time this year which was lovely. Well maintained 2 miles (3.2 km) walk. Walking with a gentle pace: Clockwise (walking to the left hand side) up a small hill for 10 minutes and then downhill and onto the flat dam wall followed by continuous flat. If the path is muddy after the dam wall then you can instead use the access smooth road. Anticlockwise (walking on the right hand side) flat on right hand side and then to the very wide dam wall which is flat. Then up a small hill, 5 to 7 minutes and then gradually downhill. The walk is three sections, clockwise, the forest with gentle hill, then the dam wall and then the path next to the farm. Car park is very cheap and cafe is okay and countryside cafe prices. The paths are wide enough and flat enough for a wheelchair (the forest is slightly uneven) however the wooden gates to the dam wall might be locked. Ask at the warden building (50m anticlockwise on the path from the car park) or the cafe for more information. Toilets are free and very clean.

I love love it here! So much beautiful scenery to take in. I walk with a pram and haven't found any issues with it. Mind you I have a 4 wheeler, my friend has a 3 wheeler and struggles quite a bit more with some of the different pathways. I love the wooded area so you can get some shelter from the sun, then as you come out of it the view is amazing! You can see so much. It's such a peaceful place. Always feels calm and makes me feel happy. Lots of Geese, birds, cows, butterfly's and dragonflies. I've made friends with the little black and white cat that I see everytime I go. Very sweet and friendly. Always comes over to say Hello to us. My Little girl loves this cat and says meow everytime she sees her. They have a cafe which has quite a good selection of food and drinks. Staff are always friendly. Quite a few picnic tables. I do recommend it. I don't have a dog, but dogs must be kept on leads. The holy Trinity Church in the entire congregation have been so wonderful to me until today I was just turned away for being 10 minutes late I'm just trying to get some bus passes to be able to get back and forth to my new job I have no way to get there and no money for an Uber I was told that there's no one to call that the time is over and I am out of luck I was brushed off without even a second thought by Peter who answers the phones in the door I even called to try to speak to someone else to see if there was any way I could get any help and I was told know there is no one to call. I find this so hard to believe. never know what they're going through
