Absolutely fantastic food, mix kebab starter and garlic chicken tikka 😊, friendly staff always make you feel welcome, able to take your own alcohol, great place to go.

First time trying khaans pizza waaw beutiful mix grill pizza went to collect i was welcomed by the waiter so he went to the kitchen to see if my pizza was ready he came back and said it will be a few minutes just have a seat he intrduced himself to me the waiter was called abdul i said i am first time trying your pizzas i normally get currys but fancied a pizza so he gave a drink on the house .. highly reccomended to try their currys and pizzas . Top service lovely atmosphere quite busy ...

What a great Indian Restaurant Khaans has become at Crofton, they have been there sine they occupied the old pub that closed more than 20 years ago on the A638 just towards Wakefield after Nostell Priory and they have always maintained a solid reputation in the area for both take away and fine dinning when you eat in, and anyone reading this who already visits will already probably appreciate the fact that Khaans always provide great food, value and hospitality. The fact they are NOT licensed is a great bonus for a restaurant as people who like a good few beers or wines with their meal can do so at supermarket or off license prices as they can fetch their own tipple, we are always made to feel welcome, and enjoy some of the best curries and cuisine in the area, and belive me we have tried many. Right now (march 2024) , i think the chef they have and the staff they have is the best combination they have had in years, the food is better than ever and long may this continue, if you are reading this, now is the time to enjoy probably the best indian outisde of india ,,, or atleast the best in WF !! This was the first time we had tried here. The food is amazing and staff very pleasant and very helpful. Will definitely be eating here again. I asked staff for recommendations which I had Handi Chicken Asian style ( medium) as we have been to India this food was the closest to what we have had. Would highly recommend.

The food was dreadful. Curry was very watery and the chicken was overcooked. I should have know when I went in and it was empty. I had 2 mouthfuls of curry and got up to go to the bar and paid to find out they didn’t take card payment luckily I had some cash. £30 for the worst curry I have ever had will definitely not be going back

I think the pictures say it all…. Lamb tikka??? Look like rabbit droppings! Garlic chilli chicken balti??? Hardly any chicken. Worst takeaway I have ever ever had in my entire life

Always lived in the area but never thought to try until this weekend and the place literally blew us away. The food was stunning, fresh ingredients, well presented and the staff were lovely and welcoming. Will definitely be going again soon.

Having already had a pleasant 16th birthday years ago, I came back for my 21st birthday for a family meal. Not only was the service speedy, pleasent, patient and very tasty they went the extra mile and bought me a birthday cake as a surprise which really made my day. Thank you for making my birthday dinner special! Will certainly be returning!

Khaans is our favourite place for authentic Indian food. Whether you eat in or have take-away the food is of a high standard. The pieces of lamb and chicken are large and there are also some great vegetable dishes too. The Sabzi Thali (3 vegetable dishes), Rajistani Salaan and Bhuna are amongst our favourites. Would highly recommend

Our first visit to Khaans and we will definitely be returning as our new local Indian. The staff were extremely polite and attentive, even when we rang to book they let us know about some road closures in the area so we wouldn’t get stuck. Food was amazing and very reasonably priced for the portion sizes. Overall 10/10 experience ☺️

Due to the current lockdown (Covid 19) l Ordered a takeaway over the phone at 5.30pm. I asked if it could be ready for 6.00pm and was told that it would be.I arrived at the restaurant at 5.58 and my order was ready for me ( brilliant) to take straight home.When I opened the food at home I noticed that there was complimentary popadoms and three small portions of dips in with our meals.All of the food was absolutely gorgeous and still hot, I can honestly say that I have never had a bad meal at this restaurant .Long may it continue.

First time was awful thought we would give it a second try. Awful awful awful. The curry’s are no way fresh like warmed up blended soup. If you intend to visit wear a coat as it’s freezing not sure they can afford heating anymore.Oh and to top it off after awful food they didn’t take card so had to go all way home and back again :-)))Wouldn’t recommend. Get to Shurma for a fresh tasty curry!

We went on Saturday 29th August and it was our first meal out since moving to the area. The staff were so friendly, the chef even came out to speak to us to check everything was OK. They also taught us how to use a pickle tray properly... after all these years eating out and no one has ever told us and it was incredible! It's BYOB so I thought it would be a nice cheap and cheerful night but the food was actually incredible- one of the best I've had. Definitely going to be our new local. 100% recommend :) :)

Ordered takeaway for the first time since moving near here. Four adults and a 3 year old. We AL said it was the best Indian food we had ever had (and we have had a lot!)My little grandson loved the pepperoni pizza.My daughters special chicken jalfrezi was to die for.

Absolutely amazing food, something for everyone and they will adapt any meal to suit anyone’s taste. Excellent for children, friendly atmosphere and never feel rushed. Top chef and staff who are more than happy to help and answer any questions about the dishes.

We have been regulars at this restaurant for years. The delicious food and friendly service keeps us going back. They have provided an excellent service throught out lockdown, firstly with take aways and now are open with covid safety measures in place. We celebrated our wedding anniversary there yesterday and had a brilliant evening. I thoroughly recommend them. IMO the best curry house in the Wakefield area.

We tend to have takeaway more than eat in but the standard is same generous portions,well cooked and will adapt any dish to suite your taste can't recommend enough

We ate in the restaurant a couple of years ago and were impressed. Today we have had a piping hot delivery to the door- and given it must have been a 15 min drive to us - we were impressed. the food was exceptional- very tasty, packed with different flavours - each curry had its own unique flavour . Not swimming in oil. Loads of meat. Excellent prompt and courteous service. Portion size is generous- lots left for tomorrow’s lunch.

Visited this local restaurant every week for over 10yrs, the food is amazing and cooked fresh to your personal likes and preferences, nothing is too much for the family running the restaurant, their family becomes your family. They cater to your every need and will make you dishes that are not on the menu If there’s nothing you fancy, tell them what you like and how you like it and that is what you will get. Due to lockdown we’ve had deliveries and there as been no change in the quality of the food delivered to our door. Highly recommend this family run business, thanks guys

Brilliant night on Saturday (14/12/19) for my Sons birthday. Nothing too much bother for the very polite helpful staff!On Christmas Day they are doing Popadoms and pickle tray, starter, main, for £20 per head!The food as first class!You won’t be disappointed!Thankyou Khanns.

We returned again last night and the food was the best yet !! Also even though the restaurant was very busy the service was very good and the food lovely and hot.We will always recommend Khaans !

We did a challenge with the worst review restaurants in the area and this was one of the worst.So we decided To come.The food was terrible.I think it was out of date and poo looking chutni.The workers were nice but the food wasnt they need Help!!!!

We either go into the restaurant or grab a take away from here practically every week. The food is absolutely stunning! A previous reviewer said they were a critique of Indian food giving it 1 star which is just unbelievable, I can’t understand how anyone can’t appreciate it here. The meat is always juicy and tender with sauces that are just sublime. Portions are a plenty. You won’t leave hungry that’s for sure and I can highly recommend the milli juli Khan special. Best curry in Wakefield! You take your own alcohol and it’s cash only but it’s worth it. The staff are always attentive with fast service. I honestly can’t say enough about this place. Yum de yum yum yum sums it up.

I had a mild chicken and mushroom pasanda. The chef came out and asked if I would like fruit in it. I hesitated and then said yes. When it arrived it looked lovely and creamy. This was the nicest mild curry I have ever had. The pickle tray was good and so was the garlic naan.

Night out with our babie and what a night been here a few times and the chicken danisak was fab thanks ever so much will definitely be back and recommend for others aswell as the garlic nan was delicious cheers guys

What an amazing family meal we had. Booked 1/2 of the restaurant to ourselves. Amazing food as always, hospitality was amazing and catered for all of our needs. Especially with my children having a dairy allergy, we find it difficult in restaurants to get them what they like. Your Chicken and Gobi Bhuna is definitely a winner with them. We can not thank you enough for the great time we had. What a lovely surprise for our Kylie.

Popped in for a takeout as I successfully entertained a family of 12 in Arkaans a year previous with positive feedback. Unfortunately this time it seems the chef has been replaced.

I can’t rate this place highly enough! The food’s great, it can all be cooked with frylight, and the staff are so accommodating. If the menu doesn’t have a dish they’ll even make it specially for you.

Regulars at Arkaans for many years and now just been to newly re named Khaans, old favourites and some new dishes on the menu, service excellent and food quality even better than before.

This was our first visit to the newly re-named Khaans. We had previously visited Arkaans many times before. (You still have to take your own booze and it's still (annoyingly) cash only). But the new owner is very friendly and chatty. He made us feel very welcome. He told us how much we were going to enjoy the food as he said they had greatly improved the quality since taking over. We've always loved the food, so not sure how it could be improved. But it absolutely was. The chicken tikka masala had massive pieces of chicken in it and was probably the best I've ever had. We can't wait to visit again soon.

The food has taken a sharp upwards turn from the previous 12 months which is a relief. The food was flawless.

We visited Khaans (formerly Arkaans) a few weeks ago, we were actually driving past to visit a different restaurant as we were told Arkaans was closed down!!

Don’t know we’re to start but the food was the best I had,leaving my mouth watering for some more Guys all I can say is if you don’t try Arkaan’s your missing out on the quality of the food giving in a lower prices range as-well the waiters very active also made our party a rememberable party which would be remembered in our heart’s Thankyou for the great service .....

Impromptu visit with a friend. Greeted by friendly staff who were helpful and attentive. Food was really nice my lamb and spinich balti very tasty. One minor thing it was a bit too oily, but not in a bad way. But lamb dishes are often that way. Otherwise a great night.

Visited last night for Beth's birthday bash .We were amongst a party of about twenty adults .The owner and his team worked tirelessly to make our experience memorable as I am sure they do for everyone. The service was fast and the food was fresh hot and very tasty.Another plus is you bring your own booze as the restaurant isn't licensed to sell alcohol only soft drinks .the waiters supplied us with glasses and ice if wanted.We all saved an absolute fortune on rip off bar prices..One last tip is you pay with cash only no cards accepted don't get courght out .you could end up washing pots LOL

On arrival, we were greeted by a friendly member of staff, and asked where we would like to sit, so we chose our seating area. Menus were given to us and drinks were ordered. A little while later food was ordered and the staff at this point were friendly, then from there it all went down hill. The table was not cleared after our courses, when one of the party asked for a dessert it was brought to the table still with the main dishes reamained on the table. We had to ask the staff to remove the dirty plates while he was trying to put the desert on the table with four clean plates and spoon which was not asked for. When the manager Ish was called over he was not helpful at all. We were then asked to leave as they were closing the doors at 10.05pm. Upon leaving Ish called us back to say that we had left something and he gave my friend 50p back saying that we needed it more that’s him, cause we may got a parked fine etc. This is shocking and we wil NEVER EVER go back again. Do not go to this place it is shocking.

Visited this place after a friend recommended this. We enjoyed our evening thoroughly. The food was nice but very greasy and bland. The service excellent from the owner who sits down with customers and takes poppadoms from your hand and teaches you how to eat them. So its an ideal place to go if you want to learn how to eat poppadom and pickles. Overall nice experience.

Amazing food & outstanding service. We felt welcome from the second we walked in. It was explained to us how best to enjoy all the dishes and there was a weekday deal available that made it excellent value as well. Will definitely come here again.

This family-run restaurant by Ishy, Baz and Ac who along side there young waiters provide a superb service! What an evening! stomach-bursting breads and sauces in favour of strong flavours and a menu of about 30 dishes from across India. The mouth watering tandoori chicken and Kashmiri lamb was excellent, and the slimming dishes are an credit as my wife totally enjoyed it! We will defiantly see you again! After A friend's recommendation I have always come to this traditional Indian restaurant! and it has never failed in the freshness of the food and the authenticity of the spices. We went to Arkaans, Doncaster Road, Crofton for a takeaway 14/3/18 as we love their food 5* we went to pay and we were told....it had been paid for and 'pay it forward' ...We were absolutely shocked and never felt so special! I really hope the person/s read this THANK YOU we will definitely 'pay it forward' we enjoyed the lovely food as it is always fantastic and we smiled all night it really made us step back and gave us faith in humanity and to be reminded people can be so kind and thoughtful. I have been going to this restaurant and enjoyed the food and customer service for years but had not been in some time. I decided to have a meal on Friday Ish and his brother were usually there to met and great but instead 3 young boys had now taken their place. We ordered a starter Sheek kebab that used to be served on a sizzler. It was served on a plate and was the worse kebab I have ever tasted. We had been waiting for some time 30 mins for our meal and I asked where is our mains and was told it would be another 10 mins in the meantime takeaway after takeaway was coming from the kitchen. After 15 mins still no meal. I then asked to pay the bill for my starter only as the wait had been to log and I was leaving. Ish then appeared and asked me what my problem was. I explained the wait was not acceptable and his arrogant reply was. You got your starters straight away we always leave a 30 min gap between food. I had never waited this long for previous visits but he insisted I was wrong and could not understand my problem. He was very argumentative and rude. Finally after 45 mins of waiting the food arrived!!! Can not fault the mains but the customer service was appalling. Maybe that is why on a Friday night they only had 4 tables in. We got to the restaurant at 0630 and did not leave until 0815 will never return to this resturant

Really liked the food. Lots of variety and reasonably priced. Plenty of food too. It was nice to try something different. Enjoyed both starter and main. Just shame the room was cool so I felt a little uncomfortable. We were sat near a radiator too?

Taken to Arkaans for Birthday. Made very welcome from the start. The owner came over and welcomed us personally. The food is excellent. Comprehensive menu to suit all tastes. You may take alcoholic drinks into restaurant if you wish. Couldn't find anything to complain about.

Went here with family, called last minute was accepted but when arrived was put upstairs where there wasn't much atmosphere, been to plenty of curry houses but thought the portion sizes of the meat inside the curries was the smallest I've seen,although it tasted good, I didn't think it was good value and won't revisit

Went here last weekend , on entering the building it was cold and felt damp , but got a friendly warm welcome from ish , but as time went on he was too over powering and wanted our attention all the time he was too much and he was abrupt to the young waiters . The starters tasted warmed up and very dry (onion bhargi samosa etc) Our curry was nice though but some Our our group could not eat theres it was not nice , the tables are far too small you can't get all food on , we had 4 plates stacked on top of each other not good !!!! We will not be going again as we have had far better else where .

Never had a bad meal from here. The garlic naans are perfect every time. Lamb dishes are always cooked to perfection and good chunks of lamb not fatty at all. Ish, Baz and all the team are brilliant and always have a smile and take time to talk to every customer. Its bring your own beer, which keeps the bill down.Takeaways are good too and generally turn up within 30-40 minutes. Try the fish masala starter, you wont be disappointed.

Called in on the way home from a shopping trip. It's been a long time since we've been here and I have to say the food gets better every time but this time it was exceptionally good! Thoroughly enjoyed every bit of our meals. Will have to make a pact to go more regularly. Absolutely recommend.

Ordered takeout food from here for the first time last night. Poppadoms were good but that is where it ended. We had onion bhaji's to start which were dry, stodgy and lacking in onion. The Peshwari nan we ordered and paid for was nowhere to be seen. My wife's mushroom and potato Rogan josh had no mushroom in it. The Saag Paneer was terrible - it tasted like it had been reheated several times. The paneer was like rubber. All in all the food from here was the worst we've ever had from an Indian restaurant.

Words really will not do justice to the experience we had at Arkaans last night, this was without doubt the worst Indian meal I have had for many years. The restaurant was cold and uninviting and with cramped seating. Poppadoms were OK, Pickle tray was pretty uninspiring, Onion Bhaji starter was luke warm and doughy and looked as if they had been sitting around and re-heated. Starters finished it then took the waiting staff a full hour to clear the plates and arrive with our main courses and then only when we complained about the wait, bearing in mind the restaurant was not busy apart from Takeaways flying out of the door. When the Main courses did arrive the manager / head waiter gave us a tirade about the fact that all the food is cooked fresh, not microwaved and we need to have patience for such delicious fresh cooked food, even told me to smile!!This would have been fine if the main courses had been worth waiting for but they were horrible, I could only describe my dish as being spicy Chicken in very watery gravy, if you could find the chicken! Needless to say never again, we will be sticking to the fab Indians in Leeds and Bradford.

Visited here to celebrate a birthday. Was abit concerned as 2 of us vegetarian and quite picky eaters, also have to small children with us and wondered if we would find variety. Well we did. The menu was extensive and catered for everything. The food itself was fantastic, all served together, which given there was of 11 of us, all having different starters and mains, was an achievement in itself. The staff were very attentive, professional and great interaction with customers. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Will definitely become a regular haunt when we move near to it in afew weeks.

Popped in for a Sunday curry while caravanning in the area! Hadn't booked but were quickly found a table and served soft drinks. (They have a BYO policy) Very wide choice on the menu including lots of items that were unfamiliar to us - I wanted to try a veggie curry as we'd been eating lots of meat all weekend, and although the waiter was helpful I wouldn't say he was that knowledgeable. Anyway my Kashmiri dish was mild and tasty and very plentiful and my husband enjoyed his lamb balti - a bit spicier than we would expect a balti to be! Very friendly service and a good use of one of the many sadly redundant pubs we have - the decor is quite pub-like and not that cosy but fine for our meal.

Visited on a Saturday night, hadn't booked but this was no problem. Waiting staff were attentive and helpful, food was beautiful! The only fault with the place and why I didn't award 5 stars is the decor really, bit dated, cobwebs etc.. will definitely be back though!!

3 of us Came on a sat nite, got our seats & wine glasses brought over., followed by water & pickle tray. Visited last sun tea time . Have been numerous times before as i live local.Disappointed this time the starters were okay. Main meals all very bland. Not horrible but not that good either. Nicer places to go in the same area.Needs a good tidy up outside looking a bit shabby now. Won't rush back
