Cosy and vivid!

I had the smashed avocado and husband had the big one! Excellent breakfast, very friendly staff and look forward to our next visit after a Sunday morning walk.

We visited for lunch with a group of 7 walkers. Having phoned to give them notice of arrival, we were delighted to find tables had been rearranged and set to accommodate us. That was a lovely welcome and when the food arrived we were knocked over by how appetizing and well presented it looked. It tasted even better! We could not have been made more welcome.

Such a lovely surprise! We had tried two nearby pubs, both closed for renovations. Came upon the Café - the food was absolutely delicious, totally made to order. My poached egg was even cooked twice by the chef/owner as she was unhappy with the state of the first attempt! Great baked items for desert, wonderful coffee. We will definitely visit again.

Lived in Ardingly for 29 years and never visited the cafe until today. Me and my partner visited for brunch, had “The Big One” and breakfast wrap, chai latte and latte. The he food was delicious and the two girls running the cafe were very friendly and sociable. Definitely recommend

I had read all of the good reviews for this place, and living locally, I thought I would give it a try. Perhaps we caught them on a bad day. It was not busy when we arrived (about 5 people were in there) around 1pm on a Saturday. The staff spent too much time talking and not being attentive - they took ages with the food, and got the order wrong for the table next to us. I wanted the avocado smash (the photos of this on Tripadvisor looked lovely) but was told they were out of avocados. I also wanted a milkshake but was told they were out of ice cream. They did explain that they were closing the next day for their annual holiday so were running low on stock. I ended up having a tuna toastie which was extremely dry - the brown bread had been toasted for too long, the tuna was bland tasting with hardly any mayonnaise in it. It had an almost crumbly texture. The cheese had melted a little but was quite crumbly too. The best ingredient was the red onion chutney. I could not manage to eat even half of it. I had a green tea which was not a Pukka tea bag as suggested by their display - and I drink this tea at home, so I know what it should taste like. They didn't give both of us cutlery or any napkins, so I had to get these from another empty table. My partner enjoyed his two poached eggs on white toast and tomatoes - however, his Americano coffee was nothing special. The cost was over £17. I don't mind paying, but this is too much for the quality of food and service they are offering.

Found this cafe by chance because the pub next door was closed. Their loss. Having frozen at the Ardingly Antiques Fair, here we had homemade butternut squash soup and bacon/Brie toasties. All was hot and delicious. What a great find.

Visited here on a recommendation, but it was our unlucky day. Very busy on arrival so we were prepared for a wait. Once we paid though we just seemed to be overlooked. Half hour wait for our hot drinks, a further 15 mins or so for our meals. The tea was horrible and tasted of lemons, and the full English breakfast had raw tomatoes with it. Played spot the mushroom as thought they might be hiding, but no, only a few slivers. We were promised toast was on the way, but despite me having to remind them, it still hadn’t arrived before we’d finished. Very disappointing.

Dropped into this cafe for brunch on the way to Brighton. Absolutely delicious Avocado Smash. An old brunch favourite : poached egg, crushed avocado on sour dough toast. The poached egg was perfect, the tomato side salad with pesto and sunflower seeds was a real surprise . As I wondered when the last time I had this old favourite made as well as this, I realized I think this was the best one I had ever had. I rarely write reviews but I was really very impressed. Well done. Ps the coffee was good too!

Just had the most amazing fresh and tasty full English breakfast at the Ardingly cafe. The breakfast was well cooked and plentiful in the ingredients. The eggs were perfect and the mushrooms were well cooked and absolutely delicious. The sausage was very meaty. All, washed down with two large mugs of tea in le creuset China. Very clean surroundings and a nice welcome from the owner.

We wanted to say a HUGE thank you, to Jamie, Krysia, Nikky, Steph, Sarah, Gill and the whole team for making our wedding the best day ever! From the moment we chose Pangdean we felt relaxed and nothing was too much trouble. We had so much fun, and our guests are still raving about how great the food and staff were and how stunning the venue looked! Nothing will ever top our wedding day - it was just incredible Thank you, thank you, thank you - we want to do it all over again! Love, Hannah and Rosie x

Delightful little cafe attached to the church. Very friendly volunteers serving up a wide variety of freshly prepared light meals including home made cakes. Easy parking. Good coffee. Just two improvements needed - a few cushions for the hard chairs, and could try to open on more than 2 days a week
