Lost our order, kids behind counter, just chatting and on their mobiles. Eventually got our coffees, after 20 mins (only a handful in cafe) which were lukewarm. Apart from the above, it was great!

I'm not sure if Arden's has changed hands recently but on Saturday the 23rd March when I went in with my Daughter and Grandson the service was not very good. Also I felt it was quite expensive. For a hot chocolate (no cream), a Mocha and an Americano plus a sausage roll and two scones came to almost £20. My Grandson asked if he could have another sausage roll, imagine my shock when we were told it was £4.50 !!! The young gentleman on the till even checked it for a second time to make sure there wasn't a mistake; needless to say we did not purchase a second sausage roll ! One positive note the staff were very polite !

There is nothing pretentious about this long established coffee shop. Staff are friendly. Place is spotlessly clean. Food and drink are delicious and a good price. My husband and I are visiting the area to celebrate our anniversary. After walking up and down the high street for a Café we spotted Arden's and we are so glad that we did! From the moment you walk in you know it's a great place just by the difficulty to get any seating. Don't let that put you off however as that just shows how amazing it truly is because everyone wants to be here! We both ordered a Panini, I had the Brie and Onion, my husband the Chicken, Bacon and Cheese. Absolutely beautiful! So fresh and delicious! The Brie just oozed out of my Panini! We shared a caramel shortbread afterwards and even my sweet avoiding husband loved it! Now to the actual drinks.... My husband is picky with his coffee as he likes it a particular way. His Cappuccino did not disappoint him! I went for a pot of tea and was pleasantly surprised by the use of tea leaves instead of a tea bag! Do not pass up an opportunity to visit this little coffee shop! You will not be disappointed!

Paid nine pounds for two bacon sandwiches/paninis. They both had only one rasher of bacon in them, served with salad and coleslaw. We should've took them back really but couldn't be bothered. My title tells the story, really. This must surely be The Place To Go for a coffee in Kenilworth. A pleasant, modern, airy cafe in a lively shopping area of this undistinguished but pleasant small town, Ardens has cheery staff and serves a very good coffee. The croissant I ate was also above average. The remarkably modest bill was £2:20. The nearby Costa could not hope to match the quality and I suspect a coffe alone would cost more. It's a no-brainer!

Up market coffee shop in central Kenilworth. Attractive decor with comfortable seating though quite tightly packed in downstairs. Good quality coffee and a nice atmosphere though the waiter was slow in remedying an incorrect order. However the visit to the unisex toilet is to be avoided. It clearly has not been cleaned thoroughly for some time. Urine stained seat and a smell which was shared with the adjacent table every time the door was opened. It's time for an upgrade so that the toilet befits the overall quality of this establishment. Staff informed so hopefully this will be remedied very shortly....I will be checking it out.

After a number years of loyalty to Costa we decided a change was in order and wandered into Arden's. We made a good decision as, to our taste buds, the coffee is better and, to our ears, the decibel rating is lower as it is a lot quieter due to being smaller with less customer foot-fall - but never empty. The cakes we have tried have all been very good and the panini's slightly better than those on offer at Costa, albeit we didn't have any complaints about either at Costa to be fair.We also the like the fact that we order and sit down and our drinks and food are then brought to us. A good compromise from pure table service. For now Arden's offers us exactly what we want from our local coffee shop - part from on a Sunday morning when we treat ourselves to toast and Costa has the edge then.Overall, highly recommended.

Did not complain as I wanted to eat at same time as my family which included two young children. A young male waiter with dark hair was working hard serving food clearing tables and apologising for delays! The rest off the staff were mainly standing around chatting! This was apart from the lady serving drinks and the one making food . A not wonderful (but not awful ) experience.

This was the second time we had been here. This time was better than the first - the door had been fixed and so there wasn't a cold wind blowing into the cafe. Food is very average, although better than the 'chain cafes'. The staff are OK - they meet your needs but a smile now and again would be nice! Only the downstairs is open on a Sunday so it can seem a little cramped, especially, as today, there was another customer in speaking at the top of his voice (to the person sitting next to him) about his travels in Australia - the rest of us didn't need to know!

After being thoroughly "Shopped Out" for Xmas, we were desperate for some of Arden's special sustenance, so off we trod to our favourite Kenilworth Coffee Shop, as usual, excellent service and excellent fare - what more could you ask for? Every time we are within 10 miles of Kenilworth, we know where we will end up.....!

We popped in here for a quicky lunch whilst at work & from start to finish it was a shambles. None of the staff had any idea what was going on, i was constantly told that they were understaff & there would be a short delay on food. I sat down with my drink & half an hour late a bland, limp panini turned up. All they do is get the panini from the fridge & stick it in a grill, i have no idea why it took so long & there were very little customers in there so they were not exactly flat out. Will never return

Popped in for a latte and hot chocolate. Coffee was luke warm and didn't really taste of coffee. Hot chocolate far too sweet - un drinkable. Great shame they don't do small child sized hot chocolate - £2.20 for a small is too expensive. Will stick to Costa from now on.

I am an avid kenilworth Costa/Starbucks fan but thought I'd give this independent a try. Shouldn't have bothered. I ordered a chicken salad roll and a cappuccino. Coffee was just ok. Roll arrived a while later it was dry and the bread was stale, along with wilted brown lettuce on it. I took it back to the counter and they offered to make a fresh one but I asked if I could have something else instead. I chose a tuna, cheese and red onion panini (which they had the cheek to charge me an extra 70p for!) anyway when it came the cheese wasn't melted in the centre and it was the messiest panini I'd ever seen. It had all fallen apart and wasn't very appetising. Such a shame they have not got it right in the customer service department.

Went here for lunch on a saturday afternoon. The soup of the day was lovely and was presented so rustically! Lovely hot apple drink too. Can get very busy due to an overload of pensioners but it is kenilworth, so it's expected. The service was great. Prices were fair, bit expensive but not to a ridiculous degree.

Much better coffee than Costa, and always friendly service. It can get busy once the swarms of pensioners emerge after 9, but that is Kenilworth.

Previously had great service here- today however very different. I walked in straight to counter as I knew I wanted a sandwich , cake & coffee. As there were no obvious boards with food menu at counter I asked the man at the till if they were still serving sandwiches and what did they have - he replied pretty much anything I wanted. Then a very miserable waitress told me the menu's are on the table in quite a dismissive manner , the man on till gave me a copy and I was about to choose when the waitress then mentioned again that the menus are everywhere! I informed her I had come straight to counter and had not yet located a table so had not seen them, I told them both I will forget the food and just have a coffee. After a 10 min wait a younger female waitress brought my coffee to table, I told her I found the other waitress rude and why . In the time I have taken to drink my coffee and write this review no one has had the decency to come over and discuss or offer apology so I'm going to depart and will not return .POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Popped in for a Coffee whilst visiting Kenilworth as we were stopping near by. The cafe was full of families, the noise level was high and the place was buzzing. Staff were unflappable, order taken promptly and the coffees were delivered promptly. The macaroons were awesome with a real Almond kick to them. Toilets were clean, fresh and modern. Will return for something more substantial on another visit. This is an independent which can really show the chains how it should be done.

Bad expensive coffee (over £3 for a coffee). Place smelled of grease from cooking in the same place as the seated area and I then got the smell lingering on clothes. I think they're meant to shut. Hop
