Played this course 3 times and it's has been wet each time. Lovely picturesque course and quite tough but up there in my top five. Playing it today hopefully in dry conditions.

Had a brilliant day for an invitational competition. The course is superb and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Can't wait to go back for another round. The only downside was that there was no food available, which seems a bit strange on a very busy day.

Ok golf course but boggy because of weather

Very disappointed in Sunday lunch. Brussel sprouts were frozen and it appeared to have been heated up . My husband found a small piece of Brill pad wire in his curry. The prices are reasonable but the quality very poor.

My wife and I sometimes go to Arcot Hall for breakfast. I usually have a Full English which is a real plateful with sausages, egg bacon and bread and butter.Because we usually go late morning there is a choice of beautiful home made scones and cakes which are also delicious. We always finish with a pot of tea and either a huge scone with jam or a piece of cake.

booked Arcot to celebrate my 65th birthday. From the first meeting to the end of the party I highly recommend booking here for any function. The staff are friendly, helpful, efficient and professional but give a homely feel . The food, which was a mixture of my choices and Alan's recommendations, was fabulous, beautifully presented and HOT. The room looked beautiful when it was set out with the circular tables. Arcot Hall Restaurant is lovely, you are always greeted with a warm welcome from the restaurant team and the food is always fantastic. Chef Alan is an outstanding chef and will always make sure everything is just as it should be. We are regular visitors during the week and for the exceptional Sunday Lunches too. This week there was a steak and seafood special on Friday evening we both opted for Seafood options for our mains - Sashimi Tuna with Cream of Ginger & Wild Mushrooms (one also had King Prawns in the sauce and the other had scallops) WOW!! it was absolutely fantastic We would highly recommend the food at Arcot Hall to anyone

Course and greens in pristine condition

11 of us ate here for Good Friday. Food was excellent. We all had seafood, I went for the scallops and they were superb. Most had cod and chips - plates were cleared. Great food, great value, lovely staff.

If you want a really good substantial Sunday lunch then try this place, good choice f meats and very reasonably priced.

I'll start by saying that my wife is a fussy eater. We arrive on Tuesday afternoon to play the course and intended to have lunch before playing. There were at least twelve others in the restaurant at this time. We ordered and was pleasently surprised by the quality and quantity of the portions. Next day we played the course again and this time had a full breakfast and lunch playing golf in between. Once again the food was extremely good and was value for money. I can state without a doubt that my wife would never have eaten in this restaurant if she didn't like the food and to see her clear her plate at every meal is a recommendation on it's own.Alan M, please say a big thank you to your staff, one for the quality and quantity of the food and two for their great service. We also sent in an email of thanks to Pauline who helped arrange the trip for us so you know where we live lol.

Went here again with friends last week for lunch. At first we didn't think that we would be served as it was really busy due to a golf competition, however staff obligingly told us to have a seat and it would not be a problem to accommodate us. We had gorgeous fish and chips cooked to perfection! The fish is huge and the chips are wonderfully cooked and I can't believe that anyone could complain about such delicious home cooked food. Staff here are so friendly as well. Deserts were also fabulous. This is one of my favourite lunchtime venues, well worth a visit.

My mam & I visited this restaurant last week, we were visiting my dad in hospital at Cramlington & Arcot Hall is only 5 minutes away, we ordered 2 toasties, they came with a side salad & the best chips ever!! The service was fantastic & the food is good value for money & well worth a visit, so much choice & daily specials too...we will be back soon.

visited on Friday with family fish and chips were huge nicest rustic chips I've had in ages would definitely recommend trying it service was great, greeted by friendly staff who were chatty and polite

Hadn’t been for sometime so was looking forward to visit. Rang to book a table and was told just to turn up. Restaurant wasn’t busy only one other table of three. I ordered fish and chips and my sister ordered gammon and chips. The portions were large but poorly cooked. The chips were inedible, overcooked in stale fat. When we were asked by the chef if the food was ok I questioned the chips and was told they were very popular and a bestseller. We left hungry and very disappointed.

Wow, amazing lunch - huge portions and freshly cooked vegetables. large plate of roast meat, wine was very reasonable and delicious. lovely staff. will return!

Food was brilliant. Lebanese Lamb Wrap with chips very tasty and reasonably priced. Best food from a golf club in ages. I would even visit just for the food without a game of golf.

Went here for lunch with friends and had a lovely meal .I had the steak pie which was delicious and friends had fish and chips. Excellent portions, and exceptional value for money. Service tip top as well.Really enjoyed the experience, would definitely recommend a lunch here.

its a lovely restaurant staff are good but the last three times we had a meal it was warm not hot. even the plates were cold

Recently two of us went for fish and chips at this restaurant. We had a very very long wait but it was very nice when it came the chips were a bit on the well done side but this is they way I love them. The menu is very reasonable and I am going back this week so I will try something else. Lovely waitress on hand, she has recently started working there, a very helpful person. In all a nice visit

Took my parents out for Sunday lunch and it was fabulous. Home cooked meal that was delicious and the extra jug of 'proper gravy was out of this world. Staff are so lovely and welcoming too. Beautiful food and relaxing atmosphere, we loved it.

Great golf course of James Braid design Starts quite gently par 4 then par 3 but soon starts to lure you into more difficult holes Lots of trees fairly flat course we'll maintained with good greens

First time I've played at this course and it will not be the last. I fond the fairways tight at time great layout to the course demanding at times great surroundings. Club house and staff great look forward to the next game

A lovely welcoming Golf Club that was our Veteran 's Day out.The course is nice & flat as well as challenging,with the advice of the pro on their website suggesting do go down a club on some holes.The clubhouse is welcoming after a round of golf and has fresh food served by pleasant staff..There is a dress code on the course & in the clubhouse that is enhances the clubs reputation...Highly recommended and just wish I had taken some pictures

We eat here regularly as we receive a friendly personal service and find the quality of the food and value for money exceptional. Last night we went to the theme night, Alan had prepared a varied menu of Indian, Thai and Chinese dishes but when I mentioned I liked something not on the menu he promptly offed to cook me that instead! The food was really authentic, the portions were such that we all ‘struggled’ to finish our dishes and had to share puddings!

We had booked for 2pm for Sunday lunch and we were quickly shown to our seat, the room was very busy, but the service was excellent not to mention the food which was piping hot and gorgeous it also came with mint sauce and extra gravy. After this we had made room for dessert and so glad we did my wife's Crumble was to die for (her words) as was my sticky toffee yummy!!!. All full went home feeling happy and full so thanks for a wonderful lunch and we will see you soon.

Had a table for 8 booked. Excellent Sunday roast. Meals were piping hot and vegetables were very fresh. Service was quick and v.friendly. would highly recommend the place to anyone. Def a little gem not to be missed. Enjoy.

we go often with golfing friends and meet them their for the sunday lunch. great food . small or large servings on the mains good food and then coffee in the lounge bar afterwards ... good relaxing lunch with friendly staff.

Been over a year since my last visit. Won't be a year before I'm back. Had mother's Day lunch,and must say how much better it is now, than before. The food was amazing, and the place was packed. The service has improved beyond recognition, compared to my previous visit, and the whole experience was very professional. Well done! Myself, and every one of my party can't wait to return.

This was our second visit to Arcot Hall we had been so impressed the first time we went for a Saturday lunch, some time ago , so we decided let’s try their Sunday lunch, we were not disappointed I had the lamb and my husband had the beef it came along accompanied by mash, turnip, broccoli carrots peas and a huge Yorkshire pudding, it was beautiful all fresh none of the frozen stuff and the the waiter was excellent very friendly and efficient I wish I had asked his name I would have liked to have given him a mention.,, 5 stars

Hadn't been here for a while but heard it had a different chef. When will was there you couldn't get booked up for months so was very surprised to be able to just walk in and get a table! Not very busy at all. Must say the Sunday lunch wasn't as nice as what will used to do so unfortunately won't be returning any time soon

Well kept and challenging course in a great setting. Staff are friendly and good food.

Have been here a few times now, but as it was a sunny day we wanted to go somewhere local where we could sit outside and have a drink. The food never disappoints, some may say it's stuck in a time warp, but I beg to differ. Plenty of choice on the menu to satisfy all of my family, including the children, which have a separate menu. I chose the smaller portion for my main meal, which at £6.95 I was expecting a kiddies portion, but no, I had more than enough on my plate to bring a smile to my face. Large portion is only £8.95. Choose from 3 roasts, or have a platter of all 3. Roasties, swede, carrots and a medley of green veg with lashings of gravy. To follow some of us had the sticky toffee pudding which comes with either custard or ice cream , I needed help in finishing mine as there was way too much. Some had lemon tart, which to be honest was bought in, but that's normally the case in most places. The children chose ice cream, and there was so much choice they couldn't decide. But the young waitress was so patient with them. Children are made very welcome, they provide colouring books and crayons. But don't let this put you off as we were the only family that day with children. The drinks are very reasonable too.

Judging by the previous reviews we must have been unlucky. When we arrived we were the only ones in the dinning room, 40 minutes after ordering we were still waiting for cod and chips and a duck salad. When they arrived the batter on the fish was uncooked on the inside so inedible. When we commented on the batter being uncooked no real concern was shown. Probably the first and last time we eat there.

Fantastic lunch at Arcot Hall Restaurant this week perfect Sea Bass topped with Scallops was absolutely delicious I have to say we think Alan the chef is outstanding and the service from his team is second to none a real hidden gem so much so we returned tonight for a Theme Night and hubby had Sirloin Steak with garlic king prawns & onion rings and a peppercorn sauce on the side while had Sea Bass infused with Lime & Ginger with Seared Scallops and Szechuan Vegetables served with Jasmine Rice you could not find better for miles around !! Can highly recommend visiting you will not be disappointed the quality is outstanding
