Visited here for lunch on a Sunday with our dog in tow. We hadn’t reserved a table and the restaurant area was full so we ate outside, food was good. The farm shop is well stocked and has some lovely local produce.

We are regular visitors and normally have a lovely experience. However, on this occasion, the antics of the male on duty towards the young female also on duty was, in my opinion, very unprofessional. There was a lot of flirting and physical contact. Once our food was served, we had to wait a further 5/10 minutes for cuttlery and condiments as the staff were otherwise engaged. The food we had was average the fish batter tasted burnt, and the fish itself didn't taste like Haddock. (I'm an ex fisherman and know my fish) the mushy peas were bland. £12.95 for quiche salad and chips..... well, the same quiche in the deli was on sale for £3..... there were possibly 12 chips on the plate with very little salad..... Really , really disappointed i dont think we will be back again

Visited for lunch on a chilly, but sunny lunch time. We sat in the outside area which was quiet. We both had sandwiches, and the food was very good. Service excellent (they brought a water bowl for our 2 dogs which always goes down well!) No negatives, definitely worth a visit.

Family of 6 visited this cafe for a spot of lunch yesterday. Pork & lamb sandwiches were lovely 9/10 Chicken katsu wrap - 5/10 (bland and not worthy of £9.99) Kids meals - 8/10 Service - 10/10 Lovely cafe area, gift shop and park outside although water logged so couldn’t take kids on. A brilliant gem. I hadn’t been since before Covid, and just recommended this place to my partner as we were staying locally and needed some lunch. Wow. What a lovely place. I went for a special whereas my partner went for something off of the main menu, food came quick and was delicious. Thank you so much, keep doing what you’re doing :)

Exceptional festive meal at Sunnyhills today, Outstanding value for money. The turkey was served in generous slices and accompanied by a pig in blanket that was a meal in itself. The side dish of vegetables included spouts, carrot mash and cabbage whilst the main dish had parsnip, roast potatoes and mash. The service was also tremendous with a knowledgable and friendly waitress . It was great to see this team in action and this venue was being well patronised by very happy customers.

A great spot for breakfast, coffee or lunch as well as shopping. Warm friendly welcome and lots of seating both inside and outside. Massive scones that did not disappoint. It's a shame they were not open in the evening for dinner, but I think they do in the summer. We went for a Sunday breakfast there is good choice and pleasant staff. The breakfasts were really well presented but could have been warmer. Good coffee though. We saw lots of lovely food and gift ideas in the shop and particularly liked the look of the pies. We returned on the last day of the holiday to get pies for supper when we got home. They were awful, dry, tastless and virtually no filling. We had three different pies so it was across the board these aren't deli quality. Did get some nice bits though chutney and cheese.

We stayed here as a Britstops. Nice large flat car park. Large Farm shop with a good shop. We did do some shopping there. We had booked in for a meal that evening, and arrived to a very warm welcome from the chap there (Manager?) We ordered and eventually it arrived, the only problem mine wasn't what I had ordered. My husbands was half correct. The waitress took mine away, and my husband could see the discussion going on in the kitchen. Eventually they came and took my husbands meal away as well, as they were both for the next table. They must have been a bit cold by then. We waited nearly an hour for our meal to arrive, which when it did was fine. I was going to have a dessert. But 15 mins after finishing our meal noone had come to see if we wanted anything so we didn't bother By this time we were the only people eating in the place. I was tempted to go there for breakfast, and it certainly was busy. But I didn't feel that I wanted my day to start with waiting ages for my meal.

The Assistant immediately asked if I wanted an alternative milk with my tea but when I explained that it was meat that I didn't like but wasn't a total vegetarian she then asked if I wanted butter on my bread roll My friend also has dietary requirements so we had a complicated but we were not rushed and the Assistant could not have been more pleasant and understanding. We called here after finding somewhere for lunch based on reviews on here. The place has so much potential, the menu is varied, the food was good and the farm shop is cute. However it does not appear to be well looked after, the were seated at a dirty table, the condiments holder had old sachets in the bottom and lots of crumbs etc, the decorations in the cafe had lots of dust on them. The worst part for me was the toilets, the toilet I went in didn’t lock, it was hanging off, then I noticed it had no toilet roll etc. These are all small issues but together they slightly disrupted the impression we had of the cafe. The food was lovely, we ordered a ploughman’s lunch and a chicken, pesto and cheese ciabatta. We both enjoyed the food but couldn’t get past the fact that the place felt grubby and not as well looked after as it should be.

Sunny hills was quiet when we arrived for our breakfast visit, we were welcomed and selected a table. I ordered eggs royale and my daughter chose pancakes with Nutella & cream (!), drinks and food arrived, but my immediate impression was that my dish was only luke warm, I carried on eating but noted that the muffin was chewy and the hollandaise sauce was cold...on slicing in to the second egg, it was clearly undercooked, still translucent - I decided not to eat any more and tried to catch the attention of the waitress to let her know about the issue...but I was unsuccessful and she was making no attempt to engage with us to see if all was ok. My daughters pancakes were also luke warm and doughy...she gave up on them half way through. Still no contact from the waitress, so we walked to the till and explained that we were disappointed and the reasons why...the waitress advised that it was my fault for not making her aware. They were cutting down on table contact from a COVID perspective, understandable - but apparently I should have called out across the then busy restaurant that I wasn’t happy!!!! She half heartedly said she would advise the chef, and when prompted by her colleague, begrudgingly said she would deduct 20% from the bill. Having read the other recent reviews, we’ve clearly been unlucky in our experience....the coffee was great!!

Four of us had a fantastic lunch here on Sunday, we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals in what felt like a very relaxed and ‘safe’ environment. All staff were extremely polite, considerate and helpful, we would definitely recommend a visit.

Booked a table here for bank holiday Sunday lunch. Highly recommend! Had starters of prawn and salmon cocktail and pate. Enormous potions! Followed with Lamb and bees dinner. Best Sunday lunch we have had for a long time. Beautifully presented and very tasty! Too full for desert. Def coming back ❤️

Great place. Right next to the south meadows campsite. Very handy for a breakfast, dinner, or the deli. The staff in the restaurant were always friendly and the service with a smile (even though they are always so busy). We made good use of the help to eat out!

Booked on the morning and we got in for 12:30 the same day, we arrived early and received a friendly welcome and only had to wait a short time for our table even though we was early, we ordered and the food arrived but we did have to ask for cutlery and condiments but the young waiter did apologise, food was excellent but the waiting staff did seem nervous and seem to lack a little confidence in our opinion, we all enjoyed the food and it was excellent value, we will revisit.

Had a lovely meal here last Friday, we were staying over for one night in our motorhome. The farm shop was handy for supplies in the morning and well stocked with some unique items and a lovey deli.

My son had been recommended to visit here for a meal some time, so we arranged to visit on a Sunday Lunchtime- wisely booking ahead.Very cheerful, young staff.Probably the best Sunday Lunch I have ever had, the Roast Beef literally falling apart as soon as I put a knife to it. A great mix of vegetables, both on the plate and served as a side.Very generous portion.Delighted.

I am spending the week in Northumberland with my family and we booked at afternoon tea at Sunnyhills Farm Shop and Restaurant. The food and drinks were amazing. sandwiches very freshly cut and overflowing with the different fillings. Great twist on standard sandwiches. Savoury pies also great, fillings a surprise. Now the cakes, lemon meringue pie and scones, we could not eat them all and we missed lunch. The prosecco was also fantastic. If I lived nearer I would have to join a gym just to compensate. Thank you Sunnyhills farm, and the staff were great. A highlight of our long awaited staycation.

The food on offer both in the cafe and shop was delicious, and there was a nice range of gifts too. Wonderful outdoor area with children's play equipment and rural views. Very close to the A1 - yet incredibly peaceful and a lovely spot to relax with family.

Played today, Mon 26th August, Great layout, but sadly the greens are diseased and awful, and the tee boxes are terrible, very expensive bar, and no food being served, even though there was a competition on, and the bar was busy, Sadly one to miss in the future.

We visited Hexham yesterday and found this café in the Market Place, after a lovely River Tyne walk. It was quite busy at 1pm but we didn't have to wait long for our table. The girls made us feel very welcome and worked so hard while we were there clearing tables and getting everyone seated as soon as possible. My husband had a bacon sarnie and I had a ham and mushroom omelette which was so light and fluffy, delicious. Coffees were great too. Plenty of choice on the menu and great prices. Doggy friendly too with a treat for pooch 🐾

What a welcoming, hospitable place. If you ever need cheering up, this is the place to go. We were made welcome immediately, and tony the owner had us in stiches from the start. Everyone there were so friendly, and what had started as an intended short visit, led to us staying to closing. Met some brilliant characters, who all just made our day. Dog friendly too, which was an added bonus to us. Can't recommend enough.
