Decided to grab something healthy for a change whilst out and about in Truro. First thing I noticed was how absolutely lovely and genuine the staff members were. They were really helpful, deciding what to have for our first visit. I had an absolutely beautiful vegan buddha bowl which was fresh and super tasty. My partner had a mixed vegan taco bowl which was just as lovely. Huge portions for the price, we were both stuffed. Had a beautiful latte after lunch, great way to end a great meal. Beautiful shop too! Left with a few treats.

I must admit I did not eat in the cafe but I have to comment on the selection and service, the whole feeling of this shop makes you feel warm inside. The team on the floor are interested in your diet and your produce you are purchasing. A shop that keeps giving and I must say I am happy to have found it

What a gem. Some of the best food we've had in a long time, period. The mezze was generous and absolutely beautiful. Truly incredible understanding and preparation of fantastic flavours. Definitely not expected but a wonderfully pleasant surprise from a cute little caf! The shop downstairs is also well stocked with all things veggie and vegan. Overall, one of the highlights of our trip to Truro!

We visited on Saturday afternoon as a group of 4, 2 in our party being veggies which is why we decided to stop here. We ordered 2 large meze’s as we were quite hungry, and were delivered an absolute feast!! The food was absolutely fantastic. Full of flavour and variety. Genuinely some of the best veggie food I’ve ever eaten. Already looking forward to visiting again when next in Truro. Other notables: staff all lovely and friendly, cakes looked nice (couldn’t squeeze one in though), juices really good and nice atmosphere inside the place.

Dear oh dear oh dear. Nice decor, nice, cheery staff & decent service. But what to do when you have a popular, buzzing little restaurant with people waiting for seats, is NOT to trim back the menu from a wide and varied selection, to the bare bones. No desserts, and the wine third-rate. Now fit only for students and the fanatically loyal.

Well done Archie's. It's great. I would happily recommend to all.

Called in here whilst we were down in Cornwall for Christmas (as we normally do, as we have family who live nearby!) only to find that they'd obviously wound their options completely down to soup and something else that was equally-unenticing. Very disappointing experience, having been here before on numerous occasions and been impressed. Will try again in summer, hopefully it was just a 'bad day at the (office) cafe' :D

I visited this restaurant today with my sister and cousin. We had been turned away from a similar establishment across the road which stopped serving lunch at 3.30: arriving at 3.33 we were told that we were too late to be served food. Actually this was a good thing as Archie Brown's staff were completely delightful - although they also had a sign saying that lunch was served only until 3.30 we were welcomed in and served a most delicious and reasonably-priced meal.

I’ve eaten here on many occasions and enjoyed imaginative vegetarian and vegan food, but a special birthday lunch today celebration was so disappointing. After passing a jumble of boxes and climbing sticky handrailed tired stairs up to the return to we were shown to a tiny table for 4 right in an uncomfortable corner beside a dying plant and under a very drafty window. We gazed through the thick cobwebs whilst looking at filthy grease marked menus. Not possible to see the specials board nor having the options pointed out to us either, we chose 4separate options. Not one would get us to return. Yellowed watercress, dry, tasteless burritos and the same ingredients used in virtually every dish.

On our visit to Truro, we stumbled across this quiet little cafe upstairs of a shop that sells health products. We only stopped for drinks, me and my wife had a pot of Blackcurrent tea, whilst my son who has autism had a organic juice. It was really nice and the prices I felt were quite cheap. We did see people around us having salads and other foods and it all looked really nice, but we had just eaten back at our caravan, but next time in Truro, we will pop in for lunch. Must also add that the staff were really friendly and helpful, even when Shawn my 13 year old son with autism wanted to give them all a hug

It genuinely shocked me how tasty you can make healthy food , it makes all other restaurants look lazy and pathetic because this food tastes way better and is way better for our health(way ,way better). The smoothie I had was an unusual taste but surprised me in a good way , very refreshing and tasty. The staff were amazing they were very helpful , kind and answered a lot of our questions (which we learnt a lot from). I was pleasantly surprised by the cafe above the shop. Lots of beverage choices, including unusual ones, interesting food & friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Daily specials. Vegan-friendly & family-friendly. The downstairs shop was fairly well-stocked for its size, though I'd expected a larger selection in the county town. However, it's difficult to see how they could achieve that without larger premises. It all felt a bit cramped in the shop, whereas the cafe felt more spacious. A great place for vegetarians & vegans in a beautiful small city.

You go upstairs for eats, and downstairs to get supplies from this wonderful store, full of interesting and yummy things!! Upstairs I went for the breakfast (vegan), and with alfalfa sprouts, and a beautiful piece of freshly baked toasted dough bread, was served a fabulous frothy warming latte... I didn't even manage to finish the mushroom's, which were cooked beautifully. I would highly recommend this place, purely for the fresh ingredients, untampered with, and beautifully presented. I admit I'm not actually a vegetarian but my girlfriend is and I love coming here with her for lunch, everything i've had has been amazing, the side salads and even garnishes are culinary experiences themselves and the burger is the tastiest best veggie burger I've tried. The bhajis rock. Love it all and many other places could learn from the effort and variety that goes in to every dish. Top it all off with great service and what a winer.

I have heard much about this place but this was my first visit. The big plus is that I knew I could eat everything on the menu! It's not often I get to go to a vegetarian restaurant! I have been veggie for 40 years but my partner has only made the change very recently. He actively dislikes most veggie food and is really struggling to find things to eat. I thought I would bring him here as a treat and to see how nice veggie food can be. He liked his quiche but hated the salad (waste not, want not. So I finished that for him - it was delicious). I had the mushroom burger and was very disappointed with it. It was small and so dry it crumbled when I tried to fork it. The flavour wasn't great and the bread was also dry. I definitely wouldn't have it again. I thought it was a bit expensive as well. The walls could do with a wipe down and I have no idea what the textile hanging from the wall is supposed to be. I actually wish we'd gone and got pasties and sat down at Malpas to eat them. Much cheaper and better surroundings. I'm not totally knocking the place but I wouldn't hurry back.

I am not vegetarian or necessarily a health food addict, but you can easily get addicted to this lovely cafe upstairs above their wholefood shop. I didn't realise they are a small Cornish business chain. There is wonderful range of healthy vegetarian and vegan food, my friend enjoyed the delights of a vegan chocolate torte. I loved the gjuten free farinata pancake even though I am not allergic to gluten. Lovely drinks. They know what they are doing and have great product knowledge and are friendly too. I'd give 5 stars but the decor could be little warmer and less stark, but don't let that put you off, with good food and good company these things fade into the background.

Great little find for vegan food in Truro. With a cafe upstairs offering breakfast/lunch vegan burgers, sweet potatoes and salads, and downstairs in the shop to pick up other vegan friendly supplies. Truro does seem to be lacking a good veggie restaurant for evening meals though.

Had lunch her on saturday with my bestie. She had the fritatta and i had the quesadilla, both came with a generous side of salad, but no ordinary salad, Archie Browns special amazing and yummy salad! we shard a portion of the raw chocolate and date torte for pudding..... very rich but scrummy none the less! Came to just over £20 for the 2 of us, so not a cheap lunch, but fresh locally sourced ingredients was worth it.

My go-to restaurant for lunch in Truro, I'm not vegetarian. The food's always delicious, fresh and wholesome, the choice is great and the pudding's are worth leaving room for.

As you walk in the shop door you are greeted with a cheery hello before you walk upstairs to the cafe to again be greeted with a welcoming smile and a Hi from the cafe staff. The cafe is light and roomy and the place is always clean and tidy. So much for a fussy guy like me to choose from on the menu and the 5 item breakfast with their own special hash brown really hits the spot. This place can get busy and you sometimes have a wait but don't that put you off the food is worth waiting for.

We just has a lovely sojourn to Cornwall where our daughter is starting Uni. As a vegan /vegetarian family, self catering is the way to go for us. To find several vegetarian and vegan restaurant in Cornwall was a superb treat. We had a day trip to St. Austell animal sanctuary one morning and on our way back stopped at Truro where we found Archie Brown cafe and health /organic shop. Parking was not easy. We had to park on.the main road about 10minutes walk to the cafe, a stone throw away from Truro cathedral. It is in the heart of Truro town centre. We enjoyed looking and choosing vegan and vegan friendly products from the shop with a wide selection of organic, non GMO, non animal tested plant based soaps, shampoos, toothpaste, creams and many food items. Prices are reasonable and they have some selections on special offer. The cafe upstairs is of good floor size and can possibly seat 30 to 40 people full capacity. We had a table by the window and the beautiful sunshine outside made it such a great time. There is an ala carte menu and specials of the day written on the board. Orders were promptly taken and food served within a reasonable time. My husband ordered their fritata, I had the sweet potato and our son asked for the vegan burger. All our food were so yummy. Goid size serving too that I had to beg off my ordered dessert which was not a problem. They also serve vegan ice cream and my son had 2 scoops to his delight. They have several shakes on offer and my berry shake was just delightful. UK prices for us are never cheap but with Archie Brown's food, we can ar least say we enjoyed what we paid for and we left feeling satisfied. They close early, at 5 pm.and close on Sunday which was a shame as we would drove all the way there on our last Sunday but was disappointed. . Oh well, that's UK business system for you. Their sweet potatoes inspired me and I now make my own version at home.

Four of us, one veggy the others not, found the shop and thought the downstairs was the cafe. A lady sitting inside told us the restaurant was upstairs. After looking at the menu and other peoples food decide to stay. It was very busy but we pulled to tables together. The atmosphere was relaxed and it did seem the place to meet for lunch. We all agreed the full choice was great and very tasty. Great choice of puds. The prices were reasonable, staff very cheerful. There should be more cafes like this one on the high street.

It was a rainy last day of our hols. We were in Truro visiting the museum and it was lunchtime. We usually end up in pubs that are in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide but this time I asserted myself and said that I knew of a vegetarian restaurant nearby (courtesy of the Vegetarian Society magazine). We arrived just in time as 5 minutes later the upstairs café was full. Two of us had the Veggie Burger and Salad which was absolutely excellent - the best veggie burger I have ever had. And the salad selections were imaginative and delicious (and healthy - how smug can you get). Son no 1. had quiche and son no.2 had farinata (like frittata but w/out eggs). Both meals were good. The staff were lovely. What more can I say. Just wish we had an Archie Browns near us.

Really enjoy going here for a healthy salad, the variety and imaginative concoctions really hit the right spot. Raw chocolate cake also always a treat. Would recommend although he seating is not that comfortable. Great place for lunch whilst shopping.

On a VERY wet day wandering around Truro we came across Archie Browns. The cafe is upstairs and there is an extensive health food shop downstairs. The menu was imaginative and diverse. The server double checked with us that plain old fashioned vegetarian was ok and that we didn't need vegan or glutton free. Both of us had the soup which was a rich concoction of butternut, sweet potato and coconut with a hint of chili. It was served with two kinds of bread and butter. The soup was wonderful, flavourful and warming on a wet day.As lunch is our main meal of the day when we are on the road we opted to have dessert as well. I had the hot rhubarb and blackberry crumble and the other half had a chocolate torte. Both were delicious. They had a great collection of herbal and fruit teas which was equally helpful on the warming front.A nice buzzy atmosphere and good service made it a pleasure all the way around.

Visited this Cafe recently, for a dairy and gluten free coffee and cake, after a very disappointing experience at another cafe in Truro which caters for Vegans and dairy and gluten free dietary requirements. Archie Browns were extremely welcoming, and could not have been more pleasant if they tried. The service was excellent, and what a contrast to my disappointing experience elsewhere in Truro. The waitresses offered sound advice, and seemed genuinely interested in her job and the delightful products they were able to offer . I shall continue to visit the excellent Archie Browns on a regular basis. They certainly seem to know the importance of good customer service, unlike some other cafés .

Absolutely wonderful visit. The cream tea was the best I think I’ve ever had. Warm scones, huge pot of cream and delicious jam, must be homemade. The tea was piping hot and came with an additional tea bag should you like it strong.

Great place to stop off on our walk. Cakes, drinks and ice cream all good, and with the bonus of sparrows waiting to hop onto your hand.

Absolutely amazing day spent at The Sharksfin for our daughter's wedding last Saturday. Wow! What a venue! From start to finish everything was wonderful. Great service with happy staff who were enjoying looking after us and wanted to make the day special. The canapes were gorgeous and main meal truly excellent. The Chefs worked their socks off. Would highly recommend. Thank you to Lisa and her whole team. You were fantastic! We will be back for a roast very soon 🙂!

Poor service and virtually no vegan/vegetarian options. Asked for a veggie burger which was on the menu, they didn't have any. Asked what else was vegan, they didn't know. Service was very slow and all front of house seemed uninterested and more keen to huddle round the bar chatting. One waitress was particularly rude, I wouldn't go there again and wouldn't recommend. Lots of much friendlier places in Falmouth.
