Been to the restaurant last evening we were welcomed by a kind waiter (alyhough restaurant seems very busy) offered cozy place with menus on hands, until we decide food we ordered our fresh juices which were enough to win our heart(fresh lemonade and strawberry juices) then in a short time we were served with starters, and then main meal, the flavor the spices were just perfect and works like a magic in a lovely friendly atmosphere, beautiful decore soft music quick friendly service, and very reasonable prices and not wrong to say one of the best restaurant experience so far in woking and guildford, hatts off to the sheff and weldone to all the waiters for their hardwork. Definitely coming back with more friends and family.

I have very fond memories of Archee's, especially one special night. I was hoping to have a meal next door in Pizza Express but was told it was fully booked. Somewhat confused as there wasn't a soul in the place, I wandered next door into Archee's and my life was to change forever. Sitting outside with my chilli McCoys and pint of Kronenbourg, Joe the young barman asked why I was smoking outside in the cold as the smoking ban wouldn't arrive for another 6 years. He helped me moved my crisps, drink, ashtray and umbrella inside and I joined a friendly group by the window. We smoked merrily away, for these were the days before it was harmful to your health, and discussed England's prospects to get to Japan and South Korea, the following year. I was poohpoohed (good naturedly) when I extolled the virtues of Emile Heskey and said he would be key in beating Germany 5-1 next September. "At the Olympische Stadion?!" teased Graham, "Jimmy Hill! Chinny reck-on!!". Admitting my prediction was unlikely, I suggested a round to smooth the waters. Returning from the bar with another Kronenbourg, Carling Premier for Marina, Carling for Graham (he was driving) and some Frazzles, I noticed three people sprinting past the window in the direction of Pizza Express. If ladies do not perspire, they glow, these two young girls were lighting up the street. They must have run a long way and were desperate for a Sloppy Giuseppe, maybe an ice cream. Their Dad, however, he was just, so... dashing. He'd sprinted all the way from the blacked out Range Rover, yet there wasn't a hair out of place, not a drop of sweat to be seen. Our lovely lovely cigarettes drooped from our lips. Marina broke the silence. "Isn't that..." "His Royal Highness", I interjected. "Prince Andrew?", finished Graham. We swooned. It couldn't be, could it? I'd never seen him round these parts. I'd heard he never had reason to be here. Yet there he was, hacking up phlegm, bent double from the sprint, yet completely dry. I would remember this day forever. I looked at my watch. It was 8.05pm, March 2001.

- no me 'vuelve' volver

I don’t normally write reviews, but did in this instance because in my opinion the other reviews are unfair. Firstly, Archees is a fairly standard local pub. Secondly, it serves, by some way, as the best sports bar in Woking. Some of the previous reviewers must not have been aware of that when they visited, perhaps expecting a Pitcher and Piano or a Slug And Lettuce type establishment which Archees certainly isn’t and isn't trying to be. It is however a very decent pub. The staff at Archees will welcome anyone and you will never have an issue such as bad service, dirty glasses or dodgy pints as you might do in other pubs/bars in the area. It is a friendly place to have a couple of drinks, or loads of drinks it's up to you, and a good time. If you don’t like the music that is playing, ask nicely and it will be changed. If you want to watch football, and it legally allowed to be shown live, then this is the place to go. My only point would be is that as of March 2016, there is currently no food served apart from an exceptional display of bar snacks, which you can wash down with a nice cold pint, whilst watching the football.

What a dismal dive of a place. Populated by questionable 30 something's snd 50+ year olds. Cheep drinks but a miserable owner.

Visited prior to visit to a local restaurant to be greeted by the owner / head barman(!!) Dennis whom one can only describe as the only person to make Basil Fawlty look good. Customer service clearly not a priority and nice to witness aforementioned Dennis shooting shots with his equally foul mouthed regulars. Better off making it a private members club???!!!

I used to live within 200 yards of this bar and it was a hugely popular place - always full. What's happened now? It was empty on an Xmas holiday night and we ended up making a sharp exit after a couple of drinks. Having read the other reviews, it seems that this is pretty standard nowadays.

I have lived in Woking all my life and have never had such poor pub experiences then at Archees. Every visit is filled will dissapointment. The landlord has no people skills and could only be described as rude and obnoxious. It's only saving grace is that so few people are ever in there, you don't have to queue for a drink.

Drank there a lot over the last year, its always empty , the landlord/owner has no people skills and is rude, which begs the question how its still open? The sooner this place closes the better.

Dark, empty. Only locals drinking away their depression in their 50's Good drinks selection, limited shots. For some reason they play a lot of county and western from the 50/60's Still I would rather drink there than in town. So I drink at the lotus lounge :) It's 200 feet up the road from Archess. There are girls at choys.....

An awful, awful bar. No atmosphere, very empty, poor drink selection, dreadful music! Woking isn't known for its bars, and when 'Goldies' was open I bet it did a roaring trade, but Archies is dire these days.

Nice clean bar. Have been a customer for approximately 4 years. Landlord very welcoming and efficient. Good quality roast dinners served on a Sunday which are reasonably priced.

I've been a regular visitor to Archees for lunch at least once a month for about the last 5 or 6 years. However they've recently cut back their menu. They used to serve excellent sandwiches and jacket potatoes and toasties; good honest lunchtime fare. The new menu available in June 2009 is just burgers and nachos, of varying quality and quantity of proportions. I had a bacon roll that was memorable only for its grease and gristle. They also don't offer an alcohol free beer. This is a mistake as those who need to drive expect this to be available. With Pizza Express next door and Zizzis opposite, and both of these doing credit crunch offers, Archees just isn't worth a lunchtime visit any more,

Had two medium americanos and one croissant. Price £9.40. The coffee was undrinkable for at least 10 minutes because it was way too hot. When it was drinkable it had very little taste of coffee. Our last visit. When we left the two staff were busy so I didn’t complain.

Worst all day breakfast we’ve ever had, not very hot, bacon like shoe leather, nothing like picture, fried eggs were ok! Coffee ok, but whole thing was expensive. Not worth it. Staff very surly, as if everything was too much and they didn’t want to be there.

We enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch recently. Both of us had the chicken which was cooked perfectly. Roast potatoes nice and crispy and the Yorkshire was huge. (Way too big for me!) the vegetables was ok, but it would have been nice to have some cabbage or broccoli, but that’s just my taste. (We didn’t like the stuffing, sorry) Service was lovely! Thank you. If I could give one piece of advice, maybe choose larger plates for the roast as it was rather squashed and food fell off when trying to cut. Overall, a pleasant Sunday roast and we look forward to returning to try their weekday food. Thank you.

We have been a number of times for a family Sunday lunch and the welcome on arrival is always warm The service is friendly and efficient and nothing is too much trouble. The children's portion is enough for an adult and the adult portion is more then enough to satisfy a hungry appetite. I attach two pictures one of the child's chicken roast and one of the pork adults roast both plates were clean at the end of lunch. The food is well prepared and cooked and nicely presented. On my pork dinner the meat is over a variety of vegetables and the crackling on the pork was full of flavour. A jug of gravy was provided along with the usual condiments there really was nothing you could fault. Desert was excellent and crowned a lovely lunch.

Awful branch of Costa Coffee with dirty tables and litter on floor. The noise level is abnormally high with both loud background music and people talking loudly to try and be heard above it. It didn’t help that some of the parents (with young children) were allowing their little tykes to run around the cafe shrieking disturbing other customers whilst their mums just stayed glued looking at their phones! It appears easier to ignore your own child’s poor behaviour and glare at others than it is to deal with being a parent…. Definitely a Costa Coffee to avoid!
