Después de una gran experiencia previamente con un brunch sin fondo nos dejamos caer sin reserva a las 9 pm un jueves por la noche. Desde el principio AnneMarie era muy atento, amable y muy servicial. No solo se aseguró de que nos atendieran rápidamente, también charló y se rió con nosotros mientras celebrábamos la jubilación. Fue la manera perfecta para que cuatro amigos terminaran una encantadora noche en Bristol juntos. La comida era excelente, excelentes porciones y el vino y las cervezas buenas. Gracias AnneMarie - volveremos!

Comida deliciosa, buen servicio y gran lugar. Era el lugar ideal para una pequeña reunión familiar. Las pizzas eran increíbles.

Un grupo de 12 damas celebrando un cumpleaños. Reservamos el almuerzo sin fondo. Desafortunadamente este fue el peor almuerzo en el que he estado. Nos sentamos a esperar 15 minutos y luego preguntamos si nos iban a servir. Eventualmente nos compraron nuestros cócteles en copas de vino y los cócteles solo llenaron las copas en una pulgada. ¡No exagero! 3 bocados y se había ido. Tuvimos que seguir pidiendo más bebidas, ya que no parecía tener personal! La comida era buena. Eso fue lo único positivo. ¡Tuvimos una mujer embarazada y esperó más de media hora por un café! Cuando llegó la factura nos habían cobrado por una persona extra. Definitivamente no recomendaría este lugar para un brunch sin fondo. Hay lugares mucho mejores en Bristol.

We came here for Valentine’s Day, and we had a lovely evening. Sophie was so lovely and friendly and made sure we were looked after. The food we had was absolutely amazing. The salmon was gorgeous and full of flavour and moisture. It was seasoned well. I loved the presentation of our dishes. The atmosphere was very warm, welcoming, and intimate. We had some lovely cocktails and the service was excellent. We got asked if we wanted olives and focaccia, which we thought was complimentary as we already ordered starters, but we had to pay for it. At least we know for next time, as I’d definitely go back to this restaurant.

We visited Aqua (Welshback) this evening for Valentines Day & it was a great experience! Lovely atmosphere & great food & service! My 5 year old daughter is a very fussy eater so I requested her pizza was only just cooked (no brown melted cheese) and it was cooked perfectly! Our waitress Ella was amazing. She offered her a drink but she just wanted water or strawberry squash. They attempted a strawberry ‘mock-tale’ but she didn’t like it so she said ‘no problem’ & they made her a water with a strawberry in it! (With no charge). These little things go a long way when you’re a parent! It meant she was happy so I was happy! We had bread & olives to start which were lovely! Then I had carbonara & others had Thai red curry & a chicken dish with dauphinoise & all was excellent. We had cocktails for pudding which were divine! Ella made this experience! She could not do enough for us, consistently checked everything was ok with our food & topped up our wine frequently! Nothing was too much to ask for. Ella you’re a diamond! We’ll be coming back soon!

Yo y un amigo visitamos Aqua Welsh Back para el brunch sin fondo la semana pasada, fue fantástico! La comida es brillante - gran calidad y porciones de tamaño decente! El brunch sin fondo es una gran relación calidad-precio, nuestras copas siempre estaban llenas de prosecco, y se puede tomar tantos de los cócteles incluidos, que también eran muy buenos! Lo que hizo nuestra experiencia fue el personal - todo el mundo era tan amable y servicial. Un agradecimiento especial a nuestra camarera Sophie - muchas gracias por ser tan atento, amable y servicial! Sin duda volveremos!

We started off the night well. We were greeted by Anne-Marie who read our reservation notes and then after gave us on the house Prosecco to celebrate our wedding announcement. We sat down on the table where we were given a Christmas menu but we did ask for an a la carte. It took awhile before we were given one. We then took another long while to get someones attention for the drinks. The drinks came in quick which was great. By that time we were ready to order food. Food was served 45 minutes later which really killed our spirits as we have been waiting for awhile. We appreciate that it was a busy place but it was really a long wait for the service and food to come through. We then eventually received our food in which everyone commented is a bit too salty. I’ve had sea bass and this one was extra salty, i then tried my mates risotto which was also very salty (he went out as he got a bit sick unfortunately), i tried another food on our table and even that was salty. We needed to get someones attention for the bill as we can see we are the last to leave - quite obviously we needed to make a move so should have been given the bill really. Might need to refresh the staff maybe for guest experience? The evening started off well but really was let down by the slow service and salty food. I did have high hopes for the place as I often come in at the bar and tried some nibbles in the past. The food has always been well reviewed but this time I think we’ll be the first to say it did not meet our expectations especially with the price that was offered.

I hosted a Christmas dinner for 21 people - the food was absolutely superb, and the service was exemplary. I appreciate how difficult it is keeping a table of 21 fed, watered and happy, but somehow they managed it. The atmosphere is friendly and convivial and our plates and glasses were always topped up. If you need to host a party and want quality food and friendly service, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Aqua Welsh Back. I had never been before and chose the restaurant hoping for friendly service as it is family run, and quality food - the provenance of the meat is clearly stated. We will be back! Once again, many thanks for ensuring our evening went well!

Had some reservations about eating here after reading some of the reviews but they were totally unjustified and one would have to question the reasons. We had an excellent meal there and found the staff to be extremely pleasant and attentive even when the restaurant was very busy! Will not hesitate in returning when next in Bristol.

Great location, lovely staff. food was superb and a great atmosphere. We arrived on saturday night and even though it was busy they were able to accommodate us. There were a few xmas groups but it wasnt too noisy. the staff were very attentive and service was fast.

This place has gone down hill terribly All different staff no attention to detail and u feel your neglected even when it's quiet here ! All the lovely attentive staff have gone ! Seems so arrogant now!! New managers seem incompetent! Only thing is good is the food it's still good ! But you can feel the atmosphere has gone ! So sad. !!

We came here with my partner for lunch and the food was very nice! I totally recommend the aranchini and beef croquettes! The stuff was super friendly and especially the maître. My partner had his birthday and they gave us a dessert with a candle! It’s worth a visit!

If you visit Bristol try and visit this wonderful restaurant. The food was tasty, had a great choice and reasonably priced. On being seated we were given table water and this was constantly refreshed, the wine glasses refilled and all served with a smile. We will certainly return when we are back in Bristol.

A lovely evening meal, staff are nice, however make sure you book as they were turning those that hadn’t away (it was only 7:45 on a sunday). What made it 5* for us was the food and wine, absolutely out of this world! Especially the brisket ragu; 10/10.

Stopped here for a drink, ended up Staying for four hours and ordered food. The service was outstanding, Branco was excellent, we ordered a bottle of wine that they didn't have and he suggested another that had similar notes...it was spot on if not better than our original choice. We didn't have to top up, Branco and the team regularly filled up our glasses and we incredibly attentive. Their knowledge of the menu was excellent. The food was beautiful, afew small plates, all cooked so well. The quality of the olive oil alone was exceptionally good. The atmosphere was relaxed. We will definitely be back...totally recommend Aqua.

Handy location with outside seating at a large restaurant. Our table was pre-booked and we sat inside. We began with the obligatory aperitif then we all selected the 3 scallops served with chorizo, cauliflower, pistachio and chili oil for £13.20. Very nice but only 3 scallops. We did this so that our mutual starters would taste even better with a bottle of white wine. My main course was the Exmoor lamb shank served with creamy mash, lamb jus and mint relish whilst my companions selected the duck, again so that we could all agree on a bottle of red wine. My main cost £24 which was about the average price of the main courses on offer. Coffee and an Armagnac to finish. Very friendly waitress, conveniences are located on the ground floor as is all the restaurant, spotless throughout and a "class joint". Compliments to the chef.

Food was great at the bottomless brunch on saturday. Egg pomadoro was amazing. Daisy our server was lovely. Super helpful and fun.. my glass never got below halfway empty!

I did some research before I reserved this restaurant on a Saturday evening. I can understand why it has got so many excellent reviews. From start to finish the service was excellent. You have the choice of staying in or outdoors and the staff go out of their way to make sure that you have a good experience at the restaurant. We ordered chicken wings and squid for starters. Both were unbelievably tasty. The main courses were the lamb and the linguine. Oh my God, both were unbelievable. My wife was crying that she was not able to finish the lamb as it was so tasty. We did not order any desserts because we were simply to full. The service is added to the bill but if you are not happy (extremely unlikely) you can take this off. We added to it. Simply one of the best restaurants I have ever been in.

I have to say that an evening at Aqua for dinner with friends was a fabulous. Firstly we were treated by a really nice waiter Demitri our very own Greek waiter. He was really professional, made us all feel welcome and his service top draw. The food was excellent. From the Oysters to the main courses ALL 10 out of 10. Prices are really good and the atmosphere nice and relaxing.

Superb venue. Amazing service all around! gorgeous food and cocktails are made just right! Recommend this 100% and Luke is the most amazing server, he was so helpful and nice. Perfect for a date night.

We went for a Sunday roast. I had beef and my daughter had pork. Fortunately we were both hungry because we received massive plates of delicious food. The pork was huge with some really crunchy crackling and the beef was slightly pink but not too rare. The Yorkshire pudding was enormous and the selection of vegetables was perfect but would have been enough to share. The gravy was rich and tasty and the service impeccable. We saw the starters and were pleased that we hadn’t ordered them as well because whilst they looked fantastic they would have been a meal on their own. Would definitely recommend and will return but will make sure that I haven’t had breakfast and don’t plan on eating again that day.

Enjoyed a delicious brunch in the sunshine. Lovely selection of food, relaxed atmosphere and attentive staff. The location is near the city centre but not within the hustle and bustle.

Great setting, staff very friendly and helpful! Unfortunately didn’t get the servers names but they were smiling when serving you, friendly and very helpful (We visited around 8pm Easter Sunday) They also went out of their way to help us with unrelated food issue we had and even found us out side the restaurant when we had left to offer us some medical items as it was late on Easter Sunday so no shops open for us to get something to help. Our daughter who was with us, and has been working whilst studying in Bristol, said that it’s the first time she’s seen all the members of the serving staff be polite, happy and willing to provide an excellent service. Food & drink was great and considering where it is situated (Welsh Back) on the harbour side, it was reasonably priced. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Not often do I visit a restaurant back to back on consecutive nights, but here I did, fantastic food & service, the staff Gabrielle, Martha & Emily were just superb. The chefs are so consistent that you would think it was one working on his own, but no, it's a few. Food is of a Michelin level, but the setting is not, yet the ambience was great. Please go here and put an honest review, I really can't fault it. Thanks to the 3 ladies, the chefs and the food 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Our third visit and once again everything was superb. The food was delicious (the smoked haddock risotto was just incredible) and the service excellent. The setting beside the waterfront is lovely and the location in a very busy part of the city for leisure, drinks, theatre etc makes for a great buzz. Inside the restaurant there’s a great vibe too. Quite simply, not to be missed👏👏🤩🤩❤️❤️

Went for an early dinner on a Monday afternoon while visiting Bristol. Lovely restaurant location, close to the wharf of the Welsh back. Service was a little slow but kind of expected for the time of our visit. That said, the food was worth the wait. Good portion sizes and full of flavour! Good choice of drinks too.

We visited back in September but I hadn’t left a review. We had a really positive experience here. We wanted something near the theatre that wasn’t over the top expensive but was a nice treat for us. It didn’t disappoint. Portions were generous and amazing value for the taste of it. I had a salad and ragu taglitelle whilst my partner had chicken wings and steak. He hadn’t anticipated the size of the chicken wings to allow room for the steak! Go there hangry to make sure you have room for the delicious food! The wine list was fantastic and the staff were very attentive and sociable with quick service. Highly recommend.

Excellent again. Family NYE dinner. As always this restaurant tick all of the boxes. Good food, nice ambience, excellent service and good value. The full a la carte menu or Sunday lunch menu on offer and despite mixing the choices amongst our crowd all arrived as required. We have been here quite a few times and they always get it right. Well done Aqua.

Not always a fan of this restaurant where I find the food and service inconsistent we opted for an off the cuff lunch on 28th December. There was a set lunch available but we opted for the main menu choices of scallops for my wife and crispy squid for me. Both were delicious although more could have been made of the squid which came on a side plate with a dab of alioli where had it been on a larger plate with a little salad garnish, lemon wedge etc it would have been so much more visually appealing. Main courses were a good sized lamb shank for my wife and seafood linguine for me. Both filled the brief and left us satisfied. With two glasses of wine the bill was just under £100 which is not cheap for a two course lunch but we left happy which has not always been the case here.

Visited with my team of 25 for work Christmas do. Very busy, with quite nosey vibrant atmosphere. The service was good and the food excellent. Just what you look for to celebrate Christmas, and amazing how good the food is considering how busy the place was

We went to Aqua Welshback on Friday 8/12 for our works Christmas meal and whilst the food was good the service was poor. One waiter spilt the cream from the desert plate into a colleagues drink and did not even apologise. My main gripe is the fact that I booked for 15 but cancelled one person on the day. We had paid a deposit which I expected to be retained however the restaurant made me pay the full cost of the meal even though the individual did not attend. I thought the whole point of a deposit was for that very reason, and to make the rest of the party pay for someone else is utterly unacceptable. So please beware if you are booking a table here

Out for a team xmas lunch, seemed bizarre how long everything took considering the food was deliberately pre ordered. The venue was only half full but food and drinks seemed to take ages - prob 10-15 minutes from ordering drinks to them arriving at the table. Staff not very friendly & felt like they thought you were privileged to be eating in their restaurant. The service was slow at the same event last year but seems to have got slower and quality of the food dropped as well - definitely won’t be heading back again
