Lovely Sunday lunch ! Was very busy and a little noisy but service was excellent

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt I had to after having breakfast here today. We’ve been to Aqua Welsh Back and Clifton many times in the past but hadn’t visited recently. When we arrived, we asked to sit outside in the sun, but the staff member who greeted us was a bit abrupt. I ordered a salted caramel espresso martini, but it was overwhelmingly syrupy and made me feel sick, I had 3 sips and couldn’t stomach it any further. My brioche bun with bacon and egg looked like something from a McDonald’s drive-thru and, again, made me feel unwell. My partner had the standard breakfast, which was just okay, but we remember it being so much better in the past, so it was disappointing. To make matters worse, his tea was served in a dirty mug with a hair on the rim. Sadly, the quality at Aqua has really gone downhill. It’s a lovely place to sit, but we won’t be returning. They did take my breakfast off the bill which was appreciated but still felt like a waste of calories and money.

Booked aqua for mothers day and i can honestly say i would of rather gone to McDonalds , the burger was an absolute joke , £20 for the burger to come out in a £1 Sainsbury's bun , steak was overcooked massively and then had to wait 20 mins for a new one we ended up just saying leave it. We came for Sunday roast one year and it was incredible so it’s such a shame how it’s gone downhill. Bill came to £135 and it was just not worth a penny Service was very friendly but the food was an utter disgrace.

Came here with my grandma tonight and we had the loveliest evening! Ella was a fantastic waitress, very friendly efficient! Food and wine also amazing! Would definitely come again.

The food here is always excellent. I have been here four or five times. I had the seabass which was perfectly cooked. The drinks are reasonable priced. The service was excellent for our group of 25 (pre arranged menus and reservation of course). My only complaint is how loud it gets once dinner is done and conversations starts. But that said I really like this place and will be back.

Food was a bit underwhelming unfortunately. Was there on Saturday evening before seeing a show. After ordering the server came back to tell me they were out of the salmon fillet, so I ordered the smoked haddock risotto. The risotto texture was a bit grainy and needed some tuiles or something to elevate it from being just a plate of rice. My wife had the Sea Bass which was pleasant enough but pretty small. She thought they might have put two pieces on the plate accordingly. We hadn't been to Aqua for a couple of years after having similar feelings about the food previously, but weren't won back over. Service and atmosphere was fine however.

We had a great time celebrating my husband’s birthday. Sophie our server was very friendly and attentive. She really helped make our experience a good one.

Had good Sunday lunch here. Good atmosphere, service was great. Got a bit loud as it filled up - seems room acoustics gets more important as i get older! Nice food though - with a price to match.

We came here for Valentine’s Day, and we had a lovely evening. The staff were so lovely and friendly. The food we had was absolutely amazing. The salmon was gorgeous and full of flavour and moisture. It was seasoned well. I loved the presentation of our dishes. The atmosphere was very warm, welcoming, and intimate. We had some lovely cocktails and the service was excellent. We got asked if we wanted olives and focaccia, which we thought was complimentary as we already ordered starters, but we had to pay for it. At least we know for next time, as I’d definitely go back to this restaurant.

Very good breakfast ( avocado, poached eggs, toast). Good coffee. Nice atmosphere.

Came early for a celebration brunch with a large party of adults and children. Staff and kitchen were really welcoming and accommodated all of our needs. Tasty food too.

It was a Saturday night and so busy, it was packed . The staff are lovely but because it was so busy food came out very slow and big gaps between courses. Food was really nice , well presented and value for money. It was a bit odd not to have any veg at all with any of the main courses tho. Lamb shank, chicken breast , steak....all came some type of potato but no veg. Good selection of drinks and nice ambiance. I'd go again during the day when it's not so busy.

As soon as I walked in Alex M & Viktoria welcomed me and continued their great service throughout the night with a smile. I would recommend aqua welshback to anyone, even if just for drinks with Alex and viktoria!

I came here for a work Christmas meal. During the booking process, they were quite odd with me being vegan. The location is good, but the food was average and was quite disappointing considering how much I paid. I would appreciate it if they had more vegan options. As the food Didn’t meet my expectations, I wouldn’t come back here.

Absolutely horrendous service. Last visited on Friday, two waitresses were lovely, but there must have been a shift changeover when a slightly older lady took over our table. Incredibly rude, abrupt, slamming plates down and completely contrasting from how she behaved with other tables. Myself and my friend were made to feel incredibly uncomfortable. On top of this, we were offered ‘nibbles’ without mention this would cost £8!!!! For some bread and olives?? Outrageous for honestly not that great food & would never dine there again. There are many better options in /around the harbourside. AVOID!!

Great food, worth the price and great customer service. Their mocktails are £5 and they accommodate to specific dietary requirements, for example they were able to replace the wine sauce with a non-alcoholic alternative - the waiter suggested a creamy cheese sauce which was lovely.

Great spot for some lovely food, called up on Sat 7 December and although there were a few xmas parties they found us a nice table and service was brilliant. the pan fried chicked was sublime and the chicken pizza was lovely.

Unfortunately we didn’t have a great experience tonight… my espresso martini was average and 3/4 glass full. We were a large party which I understand is tricky to manage. Asparagus starter was awful (where was the asparagus?, Xmas pudding was terrible (like a small brick)! Turkey main was delicious. Service was miserable and didn’t make for a ‘happy’ party … having waited a long time for mains to arrive we were then told to vacate the table as I was taking my last mouthful of pudding…. Sorry Aqua I was disappointed tonight.

Good welcome and helpful front of house, good food. Ok tiny tiny quibble, I thought the pasty on the fig pie was slightly too thick.

Came here with a group of 16 for our work Christmas lunch and we had a great time - the food was fantastic with good portion sizes and the service was equally great. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic food, attentive service and very pleasant atmosphere to enjoy conversation. After flying down from Glasgow it was a pleasure to find this place by chance. As soon as we entered the smell of great food confirmed our hopes. Looking around whilst waiting to be seated I could see numerous types of foods that I'd be happy trying. We were seated quickly, they didn't even mention our suitcase and bags, placed us at a table with more than enough room, grabbing a bottle of water en route. The food selection was varied and appealing making it a difficult choice, but choice I'd rather have. I chose the Carne pizza, a sour dough base and very delicious plentiful toppings. Cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour. The drinks menu was vast and catered for the full range of tastes. I will be returning next week, luggage and all, and look forward to exploring the rest of the menu.

Went there to celebrate a birthday. Booking a table was super easy and was able to make a request to sit in the window which was greatly appreciated. All of the staff were amazing and friendly, nothing seemed too much of a bother and the food was out of this world! The pizza genuinely was the best either of us had eaten, it was clearly fresh made with high quality ingredients, but beyond that the marinara sauce was divine, it was like we were in Italy. And to top it all off we had a gorgeous view of the river lit up by fairy lights which set the mood. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and can't wait to come back again... And if you do, order the Shark Attack.

It is one of my long-time favourite places in Bristol. Great for all occasions: drinks, small plates, or a full-blown dining experience. Fantastic location, choice of inside or outside sitting. Scallops are my favourite from the current menu.

Came here with a work Xmas dinner. Was fun and they did everything fine. Nothing to wow me, which I know is hard at that type of event.

Great food and relaxed atmosphere

Nice and plenty of food. The service is efficient. The place is a hybrid of a bar and an almost open plane restaurant. They can serve large groups. We walked from a car pay park near the harbor about 5 minutes distance.

Food was so nice, the pizza was excellent. Service was also excellent.

Stopped here for a drink, ended up Staying for four hours and ordered food. The service was outstanding, Branco was excellent, we ordered a bottle of wine that they didn't have and he suggested another that had similar notes...it was spot on if not better than our original choice. We didn't have to top up, Branco and the team regularly filled up our glasses and we incredibly attentive. Their knowledge of the menu was excellent. The food was beautiful, afew small plates, all cooked so well. The quality of the olive oil alone was exceptionally good. The atmosphere was relaxed. We will definitely be back...totally recommend Aqua.

Lovely birthday treat from my son and daugher in law. Food was lovely exept for very salty gravie. Also my son got charged for drinks that we had paid for on arrival. Hopefully they got there money refunded. Staff were very attentive.

Best potato wedges that I have ever had. Best seafood linguine I have ever had! The staff this evening were super friendly and chatty, we loved it! Desserts were divine - sticky date pudding & tart. Great pricing!

Been coming here for several years and the food portions are sizeable and the food is tasty. Thankfully not typical Italian pizza and pasta like most joints but a nice range of food here.

I was part of a birthday party and have to say that the food was delicious, but what impressed me the most was the staff! Nothing was too much for them, and you didn't ever feel that you bothered them. They delivered the food, came to check back that all was ok, and were just amazing. Thank you all.

The terrace was a little dirty, there was bird droppings on our table and the regular service could have been a little more attentive to our table given that there were only two tables occupied in the entire restaurant and in the end we were alone but the food was truly great I would go back just for those mussels with fries

I have to say that an evening at Aqua for dinner with friends was a fabulous. Firstly we were treated by a really nice waiter Demitri our very own Greek waiter. He was really professional, made us all feel welcome and his service top draw. The food was excellent. From the Oysters to the main courses ALL 10 out of 10. Prices are really good and the atmosphere nice and relaxing.

Came to Aqua to celebrate a friend’s birthday with a bottomless brunch the other week, food was delicious (I opted for the eggs benedict but the vegan brekkie also looked great) and was pleasantly surprised at the prompt service and drinks constantly flowing. Our waitress Daisy was quick on the refills and very charismatic, overall a wonderful experience would 100% recommend

Fabulous service and atmosphere, right by The river we where lucky to get a table outside. Bristol was heaving real buzz there last Thursday . weather was great. I had chicken and Potatoes In a mushroom sauce my husband loved his meal aswell. Ella served us she was great a very professional waitress lovely girl. Was like being abroad when you get a good waitress who knows what there doing. Would recommend will go back.

Attended with my family (9) on Saturday 13/7. The restaurant was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday evening, so did lack atmosphere. However, the food quality, amount and variety was excellent. The service was also very good. Value for money was average for city centre restaurant and I would strongly recommend.

Very, very good. The food was excellent, as was the wine, and the service first class. Portions are large which is worth bearing in mind.

Visited Aqua for an early evening meal to celebrate a retirement. There was a wait to be seated and the early evening set menu not given to us. We had to ask for it! However food was good and large portion sizes. Our server was really attentive. Great evening.

A nice place, although quite expensive even for Bristol and probably not necessarily worth the price. There are many cheaper and more atmospheric places around with equally good food. The pizza (bianca) was tasty, but definitely not the best I ate in Bristol ;)

Service and cocktails were amazing, my partners ragu pasta and arranchini were to die for! I think my mussels could have used a bit more garlic/flavour and less on the heavy cream taste, still delicious and will likely be back

After struggling to find somewhere near the river that was still open and had space, we happened upon Aqua and were so glad that we did! Staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, seating up in a cosy corner of the restaurant to enjoy our meal. The fresh focaccia with balsamic was gorgeous, the chicken milanese was perfectly cooked, and the roast butternut squash salad was complimented perfectly by the goats cheese. We would highly recommend the dark chocolate brownie as it was warm and gooey throughout. Excellent restaurant, excellent staff!

I was part of a large birthday group of over 20 people. The food came out in a very timely manner, and nobody was left waiting . The staff were very polite and were always on hand . All I all a very good night was had by all

Me and a group of 4 other lads came in towards the end of last year for a bottomless brunch, one of our group had misread the timings for the brunch and the kitchen wasn’t offering it anymore so we were about to head elsewhere, but Emily who was lovely sorted us out and still did the brunch for us even though it was past the last time for it. Food and drinks were great and the service frequent. Thank you very much for accommodating us even though we were too late and still doing the brunch for us, we had a brilliant time.

The finest part about celebrating my birthday at Aqua with my husband and two young babies was, without a doubt, the outstanding service I received. Justina welcomed me and took the time to make us all feel at ease while being incredibly attentive to all of us. I'm not exaggerating when I say that she deserves a raise for the level of care she provided. Plus, the food was delicious; I loved every bite, but my favourites were the seafood linguine, my husband's steak, which was so delicious, and the fantastic cocktail. The portions were generous, too. Later on, Gabby took care of us; she was fantastic. Then, as they brought my dessert, they both sang a song to me. I will be recommending Aqua to everyone I know for any kind of celebration because it was a fantastic day for me. Thank you so much for the superb service, Justina and Gabby. You two are absolutely amazing.

Well, I had my first ever bottomless brunch on Saturday and it was absolutely FANTASTIC! Our server Justina was so lovely, informative and attentive. The drinks didn't stop flowing and the food was delicious! I had the vegan breakfast, it was very tasty. There was a lively atmosphere in the place despite it being thoroughly wet and miserable outside. We will definitely be back again some time.

live in the flats above and they play music so loudly outside all day (the same playlist every single day) from morning until late at night. it’s so frustrating and distracting. it’s winter so no one is even sat outside can they not just turn it off. the SAME PLAYLIST. i can hear it right now whilst writing this.

We booked for 6 but 2 people joined us last minute and the staff were super accomodating. The food was delicious and the service was great, even preparing a happy birthday message on the plate for the cake to celebrate. Highly reccomend for any occasion!

Great service and food, but far too loud for normal dining at lunchtime due to the bottomless brunch where the alcohol was flowing for many of the larger groups in the restaurant. We were given a table in the corner especially to reduce the noise but it was still very loud. I'd go in the evening next time...Otherwise 5* given.

I do not recommend this place. I had Christmas dinner at that place with some colleagues on 12th December 2023 and I ended up feeling unwell straight after leaving the restaurant. It was clearly a food poisoning. I believe I got that from the fish which was either not fresh or not cooked properly (or both). The service and the atmosphere was good though.

Was all having a lovely meal staff all super friendly and food was nice but then I was sick that night believe was food poisoning from fish risotto. I'd message restaurant let them know and didn't hear anything back. Been a few times think got unlucky who knows.

Celebrated my 60th Birthday here last night. Excellent food and service for party of 15. Everyone’s meal top class and good size portions. Definitely recommend and will certainly return.

Had such a lovely experience here, will 100% return. A large group of us attended here for a bottomless brunch, and it was by far the best bottomless brunch I have experienced in Bristol. All of the staff were lovely and attentive, always ensuring your drink was full and had everything you needed. Aaron our waiter was particularly amazing! The food was yum! Opted to have a burger and fries instead of one of the breakfast items and do not regret it! Thank you to everyone at Aqua who made this day so enjoyable for us!

Been to aqua on several occasions now and it has always been fab. We came as party of 12 for a group Christmas dinner this weekend and it was amazing. The food was excellent, the service was outstanding. Justyna was so friendly and accommodating to our large party and everyone had such a lovely time. We all agreed it was one of the best roast dinners we had ever had. We had a few vegans and aqua was very accommodating for this as well. Was the perfect place for us and the atmosphere was superb! I booked AQUA Welshback for my works Christmas meal this year. The food was great quality and I received great feedback from my colleagues. Justina and Gaby did a great job of looking after our group of 68, they were very accommodating and friendly. I would highly recommend AQUA, the food always seems to be great when ever I visit.
