I enjoy having lunch at Aqua Kyoto, because not only is the food exquisite but the restaurant is not busy at lunchtime and staff are very well trained.

Waited an hour to get any service, rarely saw a waiter or any server

Had the best time, come here for great food and a fun time 😁!

I had dinner for combined celebration of, a birthday, a graduation and a promotion for three members of my family. We also have a family holiday to Tokyo booked for December, so we all agreed to have a preview taste of Japanese food. We decided on the Experience menu plus wine which cost £150 per head, so that we could sample a wider variety of food and the wine which go with it. Generally the food was quite delicious. We enjoyed the seafood and the wagyu beef. The desert and accompanying wine was excellent. My only critical observation is that the portions are very small for the very high price of the menu when compared to other fine dine places we have been to in Central London. It will be more cost effective to order individual food items......which is what we will do in Tokyo. The staff are very very welcoming, which made for a nice day out for my family.

In sum, it was a delightful fusion of flavours, hospitality, and ambiance, leaving us thoroughly satisfied and eager to return.

A hidden Gem for Japenese cuisine however the wine selection require uplift. The roof top bar view is incredible.

A spectacular experience. First of all, thank you for the treatment received by the waiter named Antonino. A real pleasure to have met him. Regarding the food, we asked the waiter for a recommendation and he did not disappoint us. Everything exquisite. There is a good quality price relation. Highlight several services they offer such as free cloakroom, escort from the entrance to the restaurant, free charging of electronic devices...If we return to London, we will return without hesitation.

What a great place to meet after work and have a cocktail or 2 . Christian was great and friendly. Also the DJ on Saturday afternoon was superb.love sitting in the sunshine and relaxing

A special tip for all restaurants who print out drinks vouchers and hand them out at trade events so people can try their offerings before booking a corporate occasion there: Either do a small print "valid for drinks x, y, z at our venue." Or do the generous version: "valid for any glass of wine/champagne, bottle of beer or cocktail from our menu", because you want people to book your venue for a big party and spend, spend, spend! Don't do it like Aqua Kyoto. We arrived with the vouchers. The first question to the waiter, "What is this valid for?" was answered by him with "Anything from the menu." We selected two cocktails. The waiter returned "oh, not for these". He goes back to the bar for further investigation. Then returns with a pad. "Either a glass of house champagne or one of those", which was a choice of two unnamed off menu Bombay Sapphire gin cocktails. He was reading the ingredients to us so quickly, though, that I couldn't even follow, and had to ask twice if I could look at the pad to read them myself. I selected a savoury G&T with Mediterranean tonic, a dash of brine and olives. What I actually received was the swimming pool blue number in the photo. The salt was absent, and the olives were three Amarena cherries 😮 We doubt we'll be back. I mean, if they can't even get drinks ingredients right, what will the food be like for people with allergies at a major event? Or vegans? Pretty venue, though, I must admit. Just stick to the champagne instead.

Food was great, service was very slow my food came 30 minutes after my friends which ain’t really nice when you go out to dinner together to eat TOGETHER. The whole place is DARK, light it up a bit please. Other than that the food is good.

In all fairness, I am not a big sushi eater to begin with so this generally isn't my cup of tea (or Japanese tea). Having said that: - Service was great. The staff is super friendly and accommodating - The restaurant is in Soho and is a large space - not sure who would primarily go there but seems like it is good for bigger groups given the scale. Wasn't super suited for couples - I thought food was good but nothing exceptional. Again, great for groups - Rooftop deck is awesome though. Great view of the city

Due to illness i was unable to attend.charging me £150 for a table of 3 was a bit unfair.i called at 11.00 in the morning to advise that i could not come. - bewary when booking - they will say its in their terms and conditions and i was aware - yes - but still totally unfair and not needed. - i will never visit this place or any of their restaurants ever !!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Aqua Kyoto London Restaurant, and it was truly an exceptional brunch experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and ushered to my table with ease. The highlight of the bruch was undoubtedly the free-flowing champagne, which added an extra layer of indulgence to the dining experience. It perfectly complemented the exquisite array of fresh sushi and sashimi that was served. Each piece was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to quality ingredients. Amazing decor, food and service. Frederico our waiter was amazing, very attentive, professional and very funny too! He definitely made the experience for us! The food was to die for, tasted exactly like the food we had in Japan! Expensive for the portions admittedly, but definitely worth it.

We dined last night and it was a fantastic experience. The atmosphere was vibrant with the dj playing, low lighting and watching the chefs plate the food was interesting. The service was brilliant, a big shout to Antonino, who was attentive and let us feel welcome on our first visit. He was very professional and friendly. The food was great tasting, fresh, and plated beautifully. We will definitely return soon!

great food and drinks experience, great staff, nice atmosphere

Food was good, maybe just not worthy of 5 starts, but I could not find any big faults. Service was very very good. I was positively surprised as maybe my expectations were not too high considering the whole bottomless brunch vibe. The restaurant is in a prime location and it looks great. I had read in other reviews the music was a little too loud, and although there was a love DJ, I did not feel it was interfering with any of my conversations.

I think is the best Japanese restaurant in I have ever been, to many vegan options. Every course is unique.

My time at aqua kyoto was an extremely pleasant experience from the minute we stepped in the door to the moment we left. Delicious food, sleek interior and amazing service. Federico our server stood out in particular, giving recommendations for meals that were delicious and providing amazing service our whole time there. Me and my family will definitely be returning for another visit!

Beautiful lunch and the best margaritas I’ve had!! But to top it off was the outstanding service from Federico who was so friendly and made outstanding menu recommendations. 10/10 experience.

Horriible experience with a creeepy harrassing manager named "Salim". Avoiid at all cost.

Early dinner pre London Palladium performance (about as close as you can get). The pre theatre menu was perfect for us - we just shared everything. Our waitress was super efficient. Nice touch was refolding my friends napkin when she went to the wash room , and laying it back down on the table. Food was perfect for us.

My husband I enjoyed a very fabulous lunch here with unlimited cocktails. For the price I would have liked a larger variety of cocktails (there were only two pre-mixed on offer). Also the portion sizes of the mains on the set menu were very small. You could pick from one small piece of salmon, beef or rice. Luckily we ordered the salmon and the rice and shared. Maybe add a few small sides to the mains. But service was impeccable and our servers were so friendly and accommodating.

The best sushi I’ve had anywhere so far - reasonably priced for a place like this, and the service was excellent too. Our order was actually wrong initially, we were brought the wrong kind of sushi - however we were eventually given the correct order and they let us keep the original sushi on the house, would highly recommend!!

We came here for our anniversary. The menu is pretty comprehensive with plenty to choose from and we decided to pick a range of dishes. The tempura shrimp was out of this world - Really fabulous. Tuna Tataki was, however, dreadful. Greasy, oily and over-fishy, we left the whole plate. It’s not supposed to taste like that… Chicken Yakitori was excellent as was the black cod with rice. Even the humble Edamame was really good here. For dessert only one dish really appealed - There’s a bit too much Matcha going on which is fine if you like it. Sushi and Sashimi were excellent too, and nicely presented. We had the Fuji apple (IIRC) and as a nice touch the staff stuck a candle in it and wished us a happy anniversary. I’m not a big dessert fan but this was so good! Cocktails were excellent - Cosmopolitans made properly is always a good sign. If I wasn’t driving I’d have tried some others and they had a good selection. Coffee was also good but needs to arrive hotter. When we walked in I wasn’t sure if having a DJ there was going to ruin dinner but the way the rooms are separated is done well so you still get some background music without it being too loud to talk. The decor was spot on and it’s a shame it was tipping it down as we’d like to have done outside on the roof garden. Service was poor, and for a 15% default charge added to the bill it’s just unacceptable. We were reminded when we arrived they’d want the table back for 9.30 (7.45 booking) so certainly didn’t want to be waiting about for the service. Initially we were seen quickly but the time between that and ordering was way too long. The guy was pleasant but a bit vague when taking the order and he left with us wondering if we’d get everything we asked for. During the meal we had better service from other staff (manager with the beard) and a blonde lady who flogged us another bottle of overpriced water but come time for the bill and we had to wait too long to find our waiter. In the end we flagged down another senior member of staff and they sorted it. Given that the place was only about 2/3 full it seemed unnecessary so remind us of when they’d want the table back - There were plenty available throughout our meal. We enjoyed the visit. I’d seen some negative comments about the service but you can only go by experience so we gave AQ a go and by and large weren’t disappointed. It’s clear that the service is still not on point though so maybe they’re one or two short of the right number of people or they need to sharpen up their training. It’s not cheap, though, so for that outlay I’d expect better. If I were to compare food to somewhere similar I’d say that Roka is better. It’s not by a mile but the Tataki really was awful and nobody seemed interested as to why it was barely touched. In hindsight I should have sent it back. The rock shrimp Tempura is killer though - I’ve spent plenty of time in Japan and across Asia and never had shrimps that melt in your mouth like that. Frankly, I could sit in that place at lunchtime and devour 3 or 4’plates of it with a few beers and leave perfectly happy. AQ’s atmosphere and decor is cooler than Roka and it feels more of an experience too. Would we go back? Yes, definitely. I’d be prepared for the patchy service and if I had the same again would knock that 15% default down to 10% because that’s really the most they should be “suggesting” for that level. I wouldn’t bother with the coffee either - You can walk outside and have your choice of any number of great coffee places where it’ll cost less and arrive hot, rather than warm.

Great location, friendly and efficient staff with a good system in place to manage expectations. The atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant and the food was excellent.

The food is Okay but from my point of view not what it’s worth, from a taste point of view. Quality of the wine selection isn’t great either. The waiter that served us was okay, but in general the service was very slow, at some points we were sitting for 20 minutes without a dish. Waiters didn’t know how to explain the dishes, no knowledge on wine paring or recommendations. We asked to be changed to another table and we had to wait for 20 minutes, we had to ask 3 different people and we were told that we could get up from the table and go to the reception ourselves. In the end we were changed to another table but it already ruined our dining experience. A 40£ tip included in the bill was definitely not deserved, but we paid it anyway. Atmosphere was okay, but was expecting better. Maybe it’s because of where we were seated. Disappointment in general definitely not worth the price definitely not recommending it to anyone.

As one of your suppliers, I have to confess I was provided with a special treatment such as special table for me and my partner, extreme attention to details for our food and amazing presentation. The atmosphere was delightful and we had the best experience we could wish for! The new cocktails manu was brilliant!

Food was weirdly sweet, porc was a bit tough to get through, gyozas were dry.

I'm astonished by the exceptional service I experienced at Aqua Kyoto and serivce this good still exist in London! It's truly the best service I've ever encountered. I'm definitely planning to revisit – the food was outstanding, and everything was delivered promptly.

We visited in Early February 2024. Beautiful restaurant, great food and outstanding service. I noticed that some of the earlier reviews mentioned bad service as a reason for giving a low rating. I think the team at the restaurant must have made a conscious effort to improve on this aspect as we had the best service I have ever had at any restaurant. Our waiter, Federico, was great. He gave us amazing recommendations, was quick to take our orders and did everything in his power to make sure we had a good time. The Atmosphere is great just as the pictures would suggest. Food recommendations: Lamb Robata, Chicken Robata, the Tuna Tataki, Rock Shrimp Tempura, Broccoli on the side.

This restaurant is top notch, it’s an experience, if you want great food and fantastic service, you are at the right place. The drinks are custom made, they also make sure you are happy. Our waiter for the day was Federico! He is one of the best you’ll ever see in the world. He is passionate about his craft, and looks out for you all the time. Sometimes I think he’s a mind reader because while I’m thinking I need something, he pops up next to me with whatever I think I need. Federico Is a model waiter and I won’t be surprised if he becomes a superstar celebrity waiter very soon. One thing that everyone should know is that all these goodness don’t come cheap, it’s central London location, views at the rooftop is spectacular, it’s prime real estate, service is great and food is to die for, so expectedly it is not cheap. I was happy to pay. This is my second visit, the first time was great but I don’t rush to write reviews, my second experience was even better so I felt compelled to write this review My recommendation is if you can, do it. You won’t be disappointed, your guest will appreciate you more.

I had an amazing experience today with Omar, I visit Aqua Kyoto regularly, however today I was met with such an amazing energy. Omar was so fantastic throughout the whole entire dining experience, he suggested a lot of plates that paired amazing with the bottles of wine we ordered. He was attentive and good humoured throughout. He suggested meals that tailored them to our liking and was so kind throughout. He was far more than just a staff member, but made us feel comfortable which led to a fantastic experience. I will recommend to my friends and colleagues. Thank you Omar!

We booked the Kyoto Nights menu and it was incredible. The food was absolutely delicious. Service was also superb. We had Federico as our waiter and he was so attentive and fun that made the experience all the more memorable. The place and ambience is great and I love being able to see the food being cooked. 100% recommend this place.

They were also able to advise us on suitable wine pairings. The atmosphere is amazing. Interior design is incredible. They also have two roof top terraces for those lovely Summers days and evenings. I'm actually looking to head back there next month. Sooooo good!!!!

A very memorable brunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was well presented and delicious. The bottomless drinks kept flowing! I only marked down the atmosphere because it was a very quiet January Sunday afternoon. Would definitely recommend!

The booking was for my partners birthday. We both had an amazing experience, from entry to departure we were made to feel special. The ambiance and staff were 10/10 and the food was delicious although the dessert was the only part that was lacking slightly on the Wednesday special. Overall, we would revisit and have already been recommending Aqua Kyoto even before finishing our dining experience. Thank you for making our day even more special!

Attended Aqua Kyoto for New Years Eve in a party of 6, spent over £250 pp. 5/6 guests who attended contracted severe food poisoning and were violently ill for 4 days - sickness, diarrhea, fever etc. We contacted the restaurant who said they would 'investigate' the case it through a 3rd party company 'Food Alert'. Food Alert conveniently concluded that our illness was down to a 'viral infection' and not food poisoning - this is despite us all parties who got sick following the meal living in close contact other people who did not get any symptoms / no one around us getting ill. One member of the party visited the Drs who confirmed this was food poisoning and a viral illness. The restaurant has continued to deny all liability and yet to issue us a refund. Disgraceful considering the amount we spent at the establishment for the New Years Eve Meal. Dissatisfied does not come close to explaining the feelings of my party - we will continue to take this further until we receive something from Aqua Kyoto.

Restaurant is a little gem just few minutes from Oxford Circus Station. Nice and chill atmosphere inside . Food is great and tasty , we loved the lamb!! But the best of our evening was the service provided by Federico, he looked after us and make our dinner special !! Thank you!

Nice restaurant with a a fancy interior. Good spot for lunch or grab some drinks with friends. They have a rooftop terrace. Food was nice, fresh sashimi and nigiri. There is a set lunch menu, as well as a la carte. Plum sake was delicious. Service was excellent, friendly and helpful staff.

The restaurant requested feedback. Decided to try Aqua Kyoto to utilize dining credits that was expiring. We went for the set lunches as that was already on the table, although the a la carte and drinks menu was presented later. We went for a "wagyu beef" meat set which turned out to be beef balls presumably made of wagyu beef, and two sashimi sets. The main reason why two stars were awarded for the food was because the rules rice did not taste like "proper" Japanese rice , the miso soup seemed it like an "instant" version, and the beef balls, rice and soup was cold on service. Service was so so, shuffling and stuff around the table to make space.

Aqua Kyoto is a beautiful restaurant and bar. Perfect place to visit before or after hitting the Oxford street shops. We had the mushroom tempura and the portion was generous and delicious. Our waiter Omar is really what made our visit. He couldn’t be more helpful and was the smiliest person. Will come back to try the cocktails.

The food was absolutely delicious, the service too, but the Dj set music was really too loud. Still it was really too expensive for 2 people, 190£ incl service. Rice being used is really fantastic in this place!

Our only reservation was the beef dish as the meat was a bit overdone, a tofu enoki version would have been perfect. Also, it would be nice to have a bit of rice with the mains. The person taking care of us was very professional and friendly and gave us very good recommendations. The music is loud, but that’s part of the atmosphere.

Exceptional service, staff all extremely attentive. Took my nut allergy in consideration at all times. Food and drinks were fabulous too, I cannot fault! Perfect.

Excellent food and service, somewhat spoiled by the volume of the "background" music. Probably appropriate for the bar and/or nighclub areas, but not for the restaurant, where it was clear that people at other tables were also trying to converse over their meals.

Made a booking last night and had such a great time, location was good, ambiance amazing and food excellent!! Service was also absolutely perfect.
