I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant for my anniversary and, from a culinary point of view, the experience was impeccable. Sitting at the counter in front of the chefs was a real spectacle: seeing the preparation of the dishes in real time added a touch of authenticity and mastery to the entire experience. However, the service did not entirely meet expectations. I would have expected greater attention and courtesy from the waiter, especially in such a refined context. Furthermore, the environment, although elegant, lacks that typical warmth of Japanese hospitality, resulting a bit cold and detached. In short, a restaurant that is worth visiting for the extraordinary quality of the food and the unique experience at the counter, but which could improve the welcome and atmosphere to offer a truly complete experience.

Went there for a dinner , food was great as usual, although they did not have my favorite orange wine and when i asked about the other type i was barely given any information other than its organic and might be bitter. I went for it nevertheless and it was up to my liking.

The UGLIEST restaurant I’ve ever been to. The food was nice but the only thing that could justify the price is if the actual restaurant looked somewhat decent. It felt like I was in a school cafeteria. I was so disappointed because of how hyped up Nobu is but honestly I would recommend you go to Ivy Asia instead.

Whilst it is not hideous, it’s certainly bad show. Staff is mediocre, food is high street and attitude for new guests and not locals! Will never return! After coming to NoBu globally this was definitely most disappointing and paying £500+ for being ignored is a disgrace!

I recently dined at Nobu Old Park Lane, and unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing, especially given the £300 price tag for the meal. The restaurant’s decor was underwhelming, resembling more of a hotel conference room than a high-end dining venue. The atmosphere lacked any sense of style or sophistication, which one would expect from a place with such a reputation. The toilets were shockingly poor, no better than what you’d find at an airport. They certainly didn’t meet even basic hotel standards, which further detracted from the overall experience. Adding to the disappointment, by 8pm on Valentine’s Day, the restaurant had already run out of both lamb and rabbit. This lack of organisation is inexcusable for a place of this calibre. If a restaurant can’t properly manage its inventory, it raises serious questions about their operational planning. Another surprising aspect was the lack of an enforced dress code. The gentleman seated next to me was wearing tracksuit bottoms and trainers on a Friday night. This casual approach diminishes the sense of exclusivity and quality that one expects when dining at a premium establishment like Nobu. Overall, the experience felt far below standard, with the poor decor, lack of organisation, and absence of a dress code combining to create a disappointing and uninspired evening. I would not recommend it if you’re looking for a high-quality experience worth the price.

It was crammed up for Valentine’s Day - at a capacity that staff could not handle and it felt crowded, tables added in every small space to increase capacity; and felt like you were eating in a canteen. Disappointing overall! Food was average, drinks were sweeter (odd they even found a way to make Negroni taste like a sugar syrup). Staff was overwhelmed with number of diners - service was slow, un attentive and we waited for 30 mins for our table to be ready even though we arrived on time.

Nobu London is a fantastic place with an elegant atmosphere and top-notch service. The food is absolutely delicious, with fresh, high-quality ingredients and beautifully presented dishes. From the signature Black Cod Miso to the amazing sushi and sashimi, every bite is full of flavor. The ambiance is sophisticated yet welcoming, making it perfect for a special night out. Super expensive, but wow! The food was sensational. Too many favourites to list. Try the King crab tacos or the Argentinian Wagyu steak. Sizzling mushrooms were amazing and the sushi, sharing platter was great. We always try the Black Cod and I have to say, this was up there with the best of them. Really recommended this place (if budget is no issue).

A very pleasant experience overall. Arrived for the lunchtime omakase and weren't disappointed by the selection. Although we were asked if we wanted more before starting, we found the chef's selection to be plenty filling for a lunchtime meal. The seabass was unquestionably the best I've had. The dessert was wonderful and landed squarely in the space of "I wish there was more" but also "more would spoil what makes it so good". Table service was a little overbearing at first with various people refilling our water, but once the place started to fill up the person assigned to our table was wonderful in their attentiveness - ensuring that service worked to suit our needs at the time. I'd certainly come again, but would hope I can be trusted with my own water between sips next time.

We had dinner here for our anniversary, top quality, impeccable service, very well looked after environment, in my personal opinion, a little cold, not very welcoming, we ate at the counter directly in front of the kitchen, so we could admire the chefs at work, true masters at their work, we were fully satisfied with the whole experience, high prices... But absolutely in relation to the quality of the dishes, fully satisfied

This is the first Nobu I’ve been to since moving here. We simply walked in early evening after work, and surprisingly, we got a table without a reservation! Nobu 57th St was my go-to when I lived on the East Coast, and getting a last-minute reservation there was nearly impossible—unless you knew the owner! 🤣🤣🤣 The food quality and service were consistently great. Typical dishes I usually order are: wagyu Toban Yaki; Black Cod Miso; Miso chips with Tuna; Rock sake shrimp; Tempura with source spicy creamy; mushroom soup Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for Japanese cuisine. I’ve heard the rumors that the chef has even created another restaurant with different… I didn’t pay attention to the name when friend mentioned it….😅

Another thing is that we waited about one hour for our food and it was good, not really great, the creamy crab is too salty, 100% not good enough for how much money we paid

Came here for my friends birthday , we hadn’t made a booking as I’d phoned half an hour before arrival to see if they’d be able to seat us the lady on the phone said that it was perfectly fine and we weren’t required to make a booking. Upon arrival the doorman questioned us on what we “wanted” to which we replied we had phoned and were told we didn’t need to make a booking . We were then then told that the kitchen was closed and we couldn’t be seated so I asked if instead we come in for a drink as otherwise the commute would have been completely pointless . He then spoke to the lady at the desk and left us outside whilst he did this to come back and say that we were allowed . Which I found rather odd as I’d phones prior and told the kitchen wasn’t closing for another hour an a half . Perhaps it was the fact that we were young and perceived as if we “couldn’t afford” to eat here but the judgement didn’t stop there . I then asked the lady at the front desk if the kitchen was open and I had spoken to someone on the phone and been told it was to which she replied “ yes , would you like a table ?” So the man at the door had blatantly lied to our faces in hopes we would leave . We where then required to give the lady at the front desk a phone number and as I was doing this another member of staff that was standing next to her said “it’s so you don’t leave without paying “ which I found extremely rude and I understand the policy and people do, do things like this but it’s not what she said it was the way she said it . Someone’s financial status and money shouldn’t be an issue for them and most certainly isn’t an issue for us. We should’ve left there and then but decided to turn a blind eye in hopes the serves where well mannered compared to the first 2 interactions with staff . However this also wasn’t the case we waited an hour for food with weird looks from staff the whole time we where there we were not attended to once after our food arrived I had to ask multiple times for the bill and received it half an hour after asking . It was a really upsetting experience as I’ve been to so many different Nobu’s across London and even in American and have never received such poor service from a high end restaurant like this . Do better , this isn’t the first review I’ve seen where your staff are rude and incompetent. Won’t be returning to this location .

The food was good but didn’t justify the price. The real issue was the poor service: we waited 10 minutes without menus, 40 minutes for the first dish, and another 20 for the second. Despite having four more dishes on the way, we were rushed to decide if we wanted to order anything else before the kitchen closed. We declined, but 15 minutes later, a table next to us—who had arrived after the kitchen was supposedly closed—was able to place an order. When we pointed this out to the waiter/manager, they seemed indifferent. Disappointing for an establishment of this caliber. —-Edit— To be fair they contacted me the following day trying to explain why other people received food after the kitchen was closed and refunded me for the service fee and the first two dishes that took extremely long to arrive.

Visited this restaurant recently looking for a nice evening out with my wife. The service to start with was great from being welcomed downstairs to bring seated by the bar for a few minutes and then taken to our table, but that level of service just went down after that. The Food took ages to come, we were receiving one item at a time at the start, in comparison to the table next to us who received all items quickly and all at once. The presentation of the food was Nice, but the quality and taste of the food was average. I felt like I have had better at local takeaways which would be a fraction of the price, there was nothing wow for the premium price and in terms of the atmosphere it was way to loud for such a high end restraunt.

We normally love Nobu and decided to have our 1st London dinner here. Big mistake. The server "Uli" literally ruined our night. When we asked for recommendations, she had zero . I ordered a drink that was awful, clearly something was wrong with it, tasted like a rotten jolly rancher, was gross. She was so rude that I asked for a replacement. I work hard and don't think I need to drink a gross drink on my vacation. Sorry. The meal was equally as unimpressive as the drinks that sounded great but weren't. Finally there was a soft shell fried crab we ordered, it literally dripped down my mouth with sea water and wasn't cleaned. I explained this to her and we didn't touch it. When I asked about the desert, she said, well you won't like anything as you send things back?? Are you kidding me, I like everything and am super easy going, however I want to enjoy my dinner and don't think someone should be so rude and put out if a dish isn't right. Totally unacceptable behavior for a server. Ruined my night. Saved the day. The Black cod miso was great, plenty of people, the place needs an upgrade, looks like they haven't touched the decor in decades, however rude and serviced with a nasty attitude, destroys a great experience. Furthermore, I got food poisoning! I didn't know where it was from but the doctors said, the unclean seafood aka the Crab 🦀 had to the the culprit. I missed my brothers rehearsal dinner, I was deadly ill traveling to Spain, had to take several shots and it lasted 36 hours. Was the worst. They should be careful when serving things.

I was at Nobu 15 October. I got sick too; I see at least TWO other reviews in the span of 2-3 weeks that also cite illness. We found the table service to be good, however, for Nobu, proper handling and preparation of fish is paramount and anything else is unacceptable. Hence my overall “service” rating of a 1. Service extends beyond the waiter(ess) at the table. I want my £300 back in exchange for the fever & diarrhea-laden roller-coaster of a week I’ve experienced. My trust in the Nobu brand has plummeted to just about rock bottom.

Spent our anniversary here and will never return. The atmosphere/ ambiance of the place was shocking, it was like walking into a school dining hall. When you are paying the price of Nobu you expect to have a nice restaurant to eat in. The sushi was awful, it fell to pieces as soon as you picked it up and every bite was mushy/bland with what tasted like gone of avacado. Me and my partner were both very ill when we got home. Waited 45 min to be seated, food is not wow at all for the price and the service is not attentive … we didn’t even know who our waiter was or who to talk to because we had a different person come each time but only to deliver food , not actually waiting on us as patrons. Toilets were disgusting. 500£ bill (after discount) for 3 and very underwhelmed, a complete shambles of a place. Go elsewhere.. there are many great restaurants in London that dont just live off a name and flavor through salt. 2 stars because food was not terrible either and staff was kind, just not very presentable or professional.

We used to be a big fan of Nobu whilst living in London and going often to America. Now living and travelling mainly in Australasia, I can see the place hasn’t evolved much. Usually this restaurant is brilliant. On a recent visit I experienced severe food poisoning not long after our visit (same evening). My guests were fine. Upon being asked for feedback by the restaurant, I shared this information. Two weeks have elapsed and I have not received so much as an apology. Instead I was asked to complete various forms and today - two weeks later - received a letter noting “Unfortunately, without the presence of laboratory analysis of faecal specimens or food samples, it is very difficult to be conclusive as to the cause or source of your illness, due to no concerns relating to food handling practices being identified through the conclusion of the investigation. Additionally, no further complaints of a similar nature have been received around the date of your visit.” Whilst a simple apology would have gone a long way, the restaurant have instead chosen to focus on limiting their liability. Very poor customer service I’m afraid.

We were given a voucher for £100 by a relative last Christmas. They absolutely love Nobu so wanted to share their experience with us. We are not big sushi fans but were told they have plenty of other dishes that we could enjoy. The restaurant itself is in a rather inconspicuous looking apartment complex across from the Hilton. Decor is nothing special. The staff were all very friendly and attentive, cannot fault them for anything. We were sat down and immediately asked if we wanted water and which kind of edamame we would prefer. This led us to believe the edamame would be free (lots of restaurants now offer a free snack while you wait/order). This was not the case as it turned out. We ordered still water, a coke and some juice. This already amounts to £27 along with the edamame and you’ve barely been there 5min. We then got some spicy snow crab, one rice bowl, the wagyu dumplings and the wagyu sliders, as well as the salmon kishiyaki. The snow crab turned out to be not fresh and not spicy at all. Considering you pay £7 for a bowl of rice I expected it to be enough for two people, it turned out to be a one person portion at best. I could have bought several sacks of rice at Costco for that price. The dumplings were unimpressive and all the focus was on the sauce providing flavour because the wagyu filling had none. The sliders were nice but slightly overcooked which seems a shame for Wagyu beef. The salmon skewers with teriyaki sauce was the highlight of the night. A bit pricy at £24, but it did taste very good. All in all a massive rip-off. Even with our voucher we still spent over £100 on top and left so hungry we ended up getting dessert elsewhere. I would not recommend this restaurant to fans of Japanese cuisine. Go to Marugame instead. Actually, even Beni Hana tastes nicer despite being Americanised cuisine and is more cost effective. You even get entertainment while you eat!

Everyone wants to go to Nobu, dont they? It’s a name that’s synonymous with luxury and fine dining in London. Only, somewhere along the way, they forgot to keep up. And as London’s food scene has exploded in quality and quantity over the last 20 years, I can think of literally scores of places to eat better food with better ambience. Upon arriving at the dining room, it’s hard to ignore the dated, plain decor. One might describe it as “chic”, but in reality it’s just a lot of white walls and fuddy duddy furniture. It is like the polar opposite of Ivy Asia (not to say Ivy Asia is to everyone’s taste, but at least they own an aesthetic). The drinks, again, standard fare with not much to say. The cocktail scene in London is fiercely competitive and you could go to any bog -standard Hawsmoor and get a more considered drink. Finally, the food. I don’t wish to sound mean, but it’s standard, uninspired, and sometimes tasteless. The sashimi was run of the mill, and came with a salad I can only presume was premixed from Sainsbury’s. The beef was overcooked, and swimming in juices that only served to toughen it. The rest could honestly have been confused for the sushi from a Boots Meal Deal. Even the “famous” blackened cod was just a piece of cod cooked as well as I could do at home. And to finish off the uninspired evening, I awoke in the night to a rumbling belly followed by several trips to the loo. As did my fellow dining guests, who enquired the next day whether we suffered the same fate. All in all, London has made massive strides in gastronomy since Nobu first opened. What at the time may have been seen as modern and cutting-edge, now has been left in the dust. There are plentiful Asian alternatives that do it much, much better. And probably don’t leave you with a bad tummy.

Positives: the food was good. Not a huge quantity for the price, but the taste was good. Negatives: 1. The place itself is pretty basic, nothing makes you think that it's a Japanese restaurant, loud music, tables too close to each other, plain walls, very sterile looking. 2. The service is way below standard. It took us conversation with 4 waiters to get a bottle of champaign that we ordered, and that's just one of the examples. For the price that you pay, I expect a top notch service (the kind you get in other restaurants of the area), and this wasn't it. All in all, the place is not worth it. The food is good but the whole experience left a sour taste in our mouth. We won't be coming back.

A year ago my fiance and I dined in at a Nobu in Milan, it was the single best meal either of us had ever had. The absolute highlight was the tuna maki, it was a deep purple, the rice was sweet, the sushi rolled perfectly and there was toasted sesame seed which complimented the roll nicely. The restaurant was dimly lit, modern, romantic and had the ambiance of a fine dining restaurant, I repeat….”a year ago”. We booked our trip to London & we were both anxiously awaiting the sushi we had both longed for in Italy, surely it’ll be just as good right? Maybe even better! Oh how wrong we were…. The atmosphere of this Nobu was like taking a time machine back to the 2004 except the menu prices were 2024. Seriously, I’ve been McDonald’s with nicer seating and a more modern look but whatever, hey we’re here for sushi. The food came out and quick and every time incredibly adequate, nothing great but nothing really worth complaining about, certainly nothing worth the incredibly high price point. And then…the tuna maki. I don’t think tuna is supposed to be brown & I really don’t think sushi is supposed to fall apart like that, now granted we’re two white people with pretty minimal chopstick experience but you’d think we were clawing at the rolls with a machete the way they were falling apart. There was no flavour, no sesame, the rolls were tiny & best of all…they were 14£ a roll. We ordered four thinking we’d get our Milan quality tuna, yikes. We ate and got out of there and have vowed to never take a gamble on a Nobu again. Save yourself the trouble and dine somewhere else, I can assure you London has some of the best restaurants in the world & this just isn’t one of them.

Solidly good food as always with NOBU. This location however is underwhelming in regard to atmosphere and service. It feels like a canteen and it’s incredibly loud. Staff is rushed and understaffed.

Very nice hotel. And wonderful. It is close to Oxford, Agard Road and Mayfair. Beautiful lobby, clean rooms. His staff is friendly But the fault is that the reception staff are not cooperative and try to collect fees from the customer in any way. My thanks and appreciation to the Director of the Middle East. Maria Kapoor. A very wonderful person. Please note they do not have an extra bed. They will make you pay for an extra room.

We had the Signature Omakase tasting menu for dinner. 3 cold dishes, 2 hot dishes, and a dessert. Personally, I wouldn’t get the omakase again because I still felt a bit hungry afterwards. The service was average. Not particularly special. However, the quality of the food was really good — particularly the sashimi. You could definitely it was fresh! The Black Cod Miso was DELICIOUS. I would just get that as a main dish next time. It’s a bit pricey, but the Black Cod Miso is definitely worth it for a splurge meal/special event.

The food is good, especially the desserts which we're actually very good and creative but there is not much else to write home about. The interior is tried; it's certainly not the level of decor I would have expected where a lunch for two with a couple of drinks came in at £320. Service was pleasant but not exceptional - the waiter was clearly not having a good day and that created a certain atmosphere. Again, not to be expected at a supposedly high class establishment. Dress code is elegant casual yet there were numerous people wearing trainers and shorts. The food was very good but again - was it so good that I would pay £100s of pounds again? No, absolutely not. I have sushi that was as good but a quarter of the price on numerous occasions. Nobu has now been ticked off the list and it was an OK experience. Not to be repeated.

Always excellent food but cold and impersonal service and a very noisy atmosphere in low-end decor. The price being exorbitant we could expect much better in terms of decoration and service.

Overall, very underwhelming. A big fan of Asian cuisine and got a voucher at Christmas to eat at Nobu. Obviously expecting big things that are attached to the name. Walking in, the outside entrance is very uninviting and even entering the restaurant upstairs, I almost thought I was at the wrong place. The decor inside is overly basic. With zero ambiance. It felt like I was at a Travelodge breakfast. When paying big prices for food you pay for the whole experience so to be eating in such an underwhelming environment and atmosphere, the food was also disappointing. It was nice enough but not special and definitely not worth the price tag. The staff were very attentive and friendly, the whole service was very good. Sticks n Sushi never fails to deliver great atmosphere and incredible food, and at half the price. I won’t be returning to Nobu unfortunately, felt a little ripped off.

Not a great experience, but the staff did work really hard to rectify it which we do greatly appreciate. The atmosphere however was extremely lacking and nothing even comparable to the other locations (or restaurants or much lower price points). On top of that, the initial service was absolutely abysmal. We will likely not be back to this location (unfortunately) as i was so excited to bring my family.

Nobu is a famous global restaurant brand, frequented by famous people. The chef’s memoir sits proudly on the front counter, if you are thinking of going for dinner here, you have probably planned and saved up for dinner for a long time, and potentially even have some ideas and expectations of what you hope to experience when you do. The menu has a range of amazing sushi, nigiri, sashimi, wagyu – I was keen to go with a degustation option, as it is my favourite thing to do at fancy restaurants if I can, as it gives a chance to try a range of things. They have two degustation options: a £125 ($238 AUD) and a £190 ($362 AUD) option – either way this was going to be the most expensive meal of my life. The £125 Signature Omakase menu includes some of the most iconic Nobu creations. The more expensive option includes some of the more top end Wagyu, and I’ve never got too into the Wagyu thing. Their website explains that 'omakase' means: "I'll leave it up to you", so, to ensure I could get a comprehensive taste and sense of what the renowned restaurant offers – that’s what I did. Because I know I might never get to go places like this again, so when I do, I tend to want to ask the wait staff a lot of questions to clarify the things that I want to better understand about what I'm about to eat, or what I just ate. The Nobu wait staff were good at answering my questions and helped me pick wines. I am from Australia, and so find advice and guidance useful, even if most of the advice is often to suggest I go for the most expensive glass. Being from Australia, I am also still getting used to the concept of a “15% optional service charge” – which was £58.80. The cost made me think I should have asked more questions – but that will be the last time I mention the price – let’s get into describing the absolutely amazing meal and dining experience. I started dinner with a cocktail. The name of the drink was: “Summertime Sadness”. It may link to one of the profoundly tragic events of the creator’s life, but there is nothing about the drink itself that doesn’t bring joy, comfort and bliss. The ingredients are “lavender, buffalo trace bourbon, citrus, cucumber, ginger and maple” – read out that list and try and think of sadness, you won’t be able to. Following on from the name, the description for it is: “that unexplained knot in the soul when everything is fine,” it made me consider not ordering it, but I am very glad I did. The presentation of the food was simple, elegant, and well considered. The variety of dishes in “omakase” was well considered and included their sushi, famous black cod with miso, and fillet steak with mushrooms. All of these now rank as the best of their kind I've ever eaten. If the food wasn’t so well considered and balanced, the whole review would probably have been about how hurt I was when the bill arrived. I can see why the style of cuisine pursued passionately by Nobu Matsuhisa, and the chef’s at each of their establishments, are so highly regarded. The food has a sophisticated refinement, an excellence that requires skill, focus and effort to make it seem simple. Unless you’re a Kardashian, this is a place for special occasions, a place to share with someone special, a place to reflect on moments and milestones that matter – and that's what we did. While the talk on the walk back to our accommodation was mostly about how we probably shouldn't have spent that much on our anniversary dinner – it was also about how when we are older, we will look back one day and reflect with laughter about how one special night in London, we took a chance, called and got a table at Nobu. We spent more on dinner than I did on my first car, but I feel blessed to have eaten there. It was an awesome shared experience. It is worth the price because the combinations of flavours cost a lifetime of focus, experience and mastery to create.

Shoreditch Nobu was excellent in every way. The overall taste of the food was well balanced... , There is no food that I particularly remember. I thought each branch would have its own personality. Sushi that doesn't even meet the basics is overwhelmingly disappointing. It was a very disappointing visit as it was cold, hard, lacked freshness, and felt like it was a waste of time and money. I hope that by identifying the problems and improving them, the restaurant will live up to its reputation. I don't want to criticize, but I wrote a few words hoping for the best, so don't feel too bad... ,

We had one of the tasting menus on offer for our lunch this week. Personally I wouldn't do that again, it was 6 courses but felt needing more food. Next time I would order from the menu instead. The quality of the produce used was amazing, really could taste the quality. Service was good, nothing special tho. Not a good enough experience for me to rush back for.

Excellent restaurant. A menu that offers Japanese cuisine with spicy Peruvian touches and a good offer of cocktails for appetizers or to end the meal. The space is large, and when it is full there is too much noise to have a conversation. They have recommended us exceptionally and we have eaten great dishes, but the portions are very fair to share with a group of 4-6.

I arrived at 8:15 and we all decided to have the tasting menu..our final plate of the 5 courses came out close to midnight. it was rediculous. Ive been to obu before and never had such bad service. Also found a hair in my dish, which was replaced. At a fast food joint I would not have been so annoyed,..but the prices you pay to have a hair even mistakenly fallen into dish! We did remove the service charge becuase the staff were very unattentive.

This is probably the most overpriced and overrated restaurant in London. The staff are shocking, the food is bang average and the decor looks like a primary school dinner hall. Wonderful little Japanese/Sushi restaurant - whilst it mostly feels like a takeaway restaurant, the food and the service are fantastic. The sushi was excellent and fresh, full of flavour, and surprisingly cheap (and not just for canary wharf). A hidden gem for sure! Well worth a visit.

Hot/cold food available to purchase, there are tables you can sit to eat but does get busy especially weekends. Supermarket to buy groceries but products are quite expensive compared to other asian stores in the local area.

A sensational meal - our second visit to Engawa after we were blown away the first time- the 5 course signature Owasake menu today was even more wonderful this time. We paired it with the wine and sake taster menu and had the most incredible meal, melt in the mouth meat and sushi and delectable flavours throughout. Our server was so attentive and considerate, 5 star service. A truly wonderful experience. Thrilled to learn the restaurant also thoughtfully caters to gluten free diets so will be bringing our parents back asap. Arigatō to all at Engawa
