Lovely food and a lovely waitress Lucy, really helpful and chatty, made my experience great and I will be returning because of her.

Fabulous atmosphere, great staff and amazing food! We went here with friends for Sunday lunch and were not disappointed. Great selection on the menu and fantastic cocktails too! Would highly recommend Aqua. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Highly recommend. The food was excellent but what made it was Shem and Simone and their exceptional customer service. Not at all imposing just perfectly pitched. Very reasonably priced compared to the prices we pay in London. Keep up the great work Aqua. We will return.

Omg, 1st time coming and won't be the last! The food was amazing the pork belly bites were yummy! With the slaw, I'm now craving them lol I came in with Cathy who is a regular at your place! I loved the warm welcome we got! The staff always had a smile, I see why she comes there often ! Your see me more to not as often but sometimes lol

The reception and attention to service given by Shem and Asia was outstanding. So refreshing to find a restaurant not cutting corners with food quality or competency of staff. All our dishes - the pork belly, olives, sea bass, and lamb shank were superb - We will be back!

Greeted, and shown to the table quickly. Water was served and menus given. Then it all went down hill. A long wait for the waitress to take our order. We choose off the 3 course menu for £20.50. Starters arrived, soup starter was stone cold, quickly sorted very average, no bread etc. Main course of Chargrilled chicken burgers, fries ok. Pudding also average. So overall not amazing and disappointing, going for an early offer which could be good but is not.

I came with 7 others for birthday drinks. the service was lovely & so were the drinks. the birthday girl was not expecting the brownie but she enjoyed it

We had a fabulous dinner here. The food was pretty good - we chose a flatbread and a few starters, tapas-style, washed down by a bottle of prosecco. But what made it so special was the staff - everyone we encountered was very friendly and pleasant, but the best of all was our waitress, Megan, who is a real asset to them.

I rarely give five star reviews as i feel this needs to be reserved for something special. Aqua is something special, the Maitre D and head waiter are very well trained and a very attentive without being over bearing, the food is very good the service is better and is all set in a very up market location Portishead Marina. We sat in the outdoor covered area with candles and overhead heat lamps which is dog friendly. We had two courses and plenty of drinks at £50 a head which is not exactly cheap but the experience was well worth it. I have eaten better food but not with the ambiance, service and price point at Aqua!

I came here in the afternoon with some family for a hen-do. Our server Jojo was lovely. She was polite, helpful and very charismatic. The food and drinks were great too. Overall an enjoyable experience.

Was in Portishead just for one night and chose Aqua for dinner as it was walking distance from the Premier Inn and on the marina. It was a great choice. Very attentive and efficient staff. Food was fresh and well presented with a good range of options. A great night out.

AMAZING SERVICE and great food. We received the most AMAZING service from Jojo and the restaurant manager. Both were really friendly and made us feel appreciated and special, throughout the whole evening. Finally, the food was delicious. Thank you!

Great food - the Wye Valley Asparagus is terrific. Get it while in season. Relaxed but very aware service from Daisy, who was brilliant.

Lovely relaxing atmosphere 😎 initially sat outside but moved inside once sun went down. Food was delicious 😋, triple cooked chips some of the best we have tried .our waitress Niamh was very attentive faultless service . Only winge Waiter was too busy chatting to other table to bring dessert menu ,even after asking him . Definitely reccomend.

Went for a sunday lunch which used to be amazing however gone downhill so much now. The chicken was so small where you used to get a large breast on the bone. The vegetables were dreadful. Almost all puréed like we had no teeth! Two small bowls for three of us. Also the chicken meal was swimming in strong beef flavoured gravy which made everything soggy. Such a shame as we loved the roast here but wont be back again :(

We had a wonderful roast at Aqua, the service was impeccable we were a group of 14 with a mixture of kids and adults. 2 of the adults had allergies which were catered for carefully and the food was fantastic and enjoyed by all (I am fussy when it comes to a good Sunday roast!!). Asia our waitress couldn’t have done more for us, highly recommended.

Nice venue with outside area with heaters, the venue I have visited several times still has great food. The Duck was tasty and Sea bass nicely done. Only had a main course, Venue can be a bit noisy

A strange decor. Olive trees but then has an almost African beach hut theme, very mixed. A long wait for our food from a limited menu. Ribeye steak very fatty and sinewy. Food very mediocre but price very high. First and last time here. Staff however were very nice.

We attended as a family of seven for a nine year olds birthday. The service from the South African waitresses was second to none, the initial order was taken with military precision by Joan who excelled herself throughout the meal in all aspects of the service aided and abetted by her stunning female cousin. The barman had plenty of charisma and a nice smile and the entire evening went off perfectly with the staff even singing happy birthday with three cheers. Show me British or Eastern European staff who would go the extra mile like this. The food was excellent, the olds ordered the sea bass, smoked haddock risotto, chicken breast with bacon, a burger for the 12 year old boy, linguine for the 9 year old birthday girl and mum of the birthday girl had the duck. We also had some squid, broccoli and they kindly laid on focaccia bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. We had a birthday cake instead of buying desserts and were put under no pressure to have their desserts instead. It is the kind of establishment that immediately says 'yes' to the customer and then figures out how to deliver the goods afterwards. Rare in British commercial business these days. This restaurant comes highly recommended from a well globally travelled middle aged person who has eaten in many excellent restaurants around the world over the past 15 years.

Just a disappointing visit. This is usually our go to family meet up restaurant. I even had a big Birthday celebration here but today was really disappointing. The menu very limited and the prices high !! My chicken was salty and lukewarm and the service although polite was slow! We all.said it it was a shame , really disappointing 😞, it was always our go to.and worth the money paid, sadly after today we will not go back .

Well that was pretty average . High prices for OK food. Waitress spilled the the clearway. Pretty noisy in an empty restaurant on Monday ? They sell high and deliver low. Won't be going again.?

Great food, great atmosphere, great decor, great location, great staff, great service and superb value for money .... Sunday gets extremely busy. Staff are rushed off their feet. The staff serving behind the bar could do with a full time glass cleaner so it will free up the bar staff so they can concentrate on making those delicious cocktails... Every time they have to spend time cleaning the glasses that's one less cocktail for the customer :)

Great full and vegan breakfast, tea and coffee. Friendly staff and a big welcome on the door. It was a very cold morning (snow in the county). The restaurant wasn't quite warm enough to feel comfortable, although the room warmed as more customers came in.

I visited Aqua, having had it recommended to me by a colleague on a visit to Portishead with work. The restaurant was busy, however Asia was very polite and reassuring that I would be attended to shortly. I enjoyed the fillet steak with triple cooked chips and a glass of the house red. It was out of this world. Cooked medium rare it was perfect and frankly one of the nicest meals I have had in a very long time. Thoroughly recommended and looking forward to my next visit to try the lamb that Asia recommended.

I will start with the positives. The staff were lovely and the restaurant was very clean and lovely decor however the food was I'm afraid a let down. The starter of goats cheese from the lunch deal was definitely over cooked bordering on burnt as was the pulled pork small plate I had but the worst thing was the fries. The reason for this is they clearly were reheated and some were rock hard with small bits running through them along with some black fries. I think for me when a chef puts out food they must be aware it is below par but if they send it anyway I feel that is a bit of an insult and a massive disappointment. It's a real shame as it will put me off booking again.

Wonderful meal - food and service excellent. Brandon made the evening, attentive and professional service, with a smile. Food and cocktails delicious - highly recommend.

Friend living in Portishead treats Aqua as his local - very friendly staff - buzzy atmosphere - but food was mixed - starter was so-so, dessert was truly delicious but whole thing was let down by mains - fish & chips where fish appeared to have been marinated in fat - without doubt the greasiest fish ever tasted - we left two thirds of it - appreciate it was only one course but it did cast a shadow over the meal - am sure we will return but may stick to salad!!

Our first visit for several years with overall noise level thankfully much reduced.Very accommodating to our party being halved in number with only three hours notice.ALL the staff particularly welcoming and cheerful. Likewise all made a point of wishing us farewell.A special mention to "our" waitress" Izzy who had just the right balance between meeting our needs and not being too fussy and always with a smile.We commented towards the end of our meal that it was our wedding anniversary, and hey presto a couple of glasses of fizz arrived - of course brought by Izzy.The food was absolutely delicious at every stage. Thank you.Three points to watch for:1. The knife was too blunt to deal with the nicely cooked skin on the duck - a slightly serrated knife would have helped.2. £9.60 for a 250 ml glass of Pinot Grigio? Yes, restaurant prices for wine are always high but this is ridiculous.3. A 10% service charge is automatically added to the bill - yes, it is discretionary, but you might miss it. (We were more than willing to give this amount.)We shall be there again.

We visited on a busy Monday night, when many other nearby restaurants are closed, so its worth booking in advance.The menu has a nice selection of reasonably priced food, with nice sized helpings. As they were busy, there was a short delay in bringing our food, so they brought over a free selection of bread as an apology, which was nice.Happy to go back and to recommend to others.

We turned up without a reservation and managed to get squeezed in it was very busy to be fair. We sat down inside and looked through the menus all sounded great and indeed the food going out looked great.We ordered flat breads to "nibble" on and three main meals. The waiting staff all very friendly and courteous. We talked and realised it had been about 40 minutes since we ordered our flatbreads; they arrived shortly afterwards but were more like garlic and cheese pizzas, which was fine, they tasted lovely.Our mains arrived and this took about 1hr and 20 ish minutes so quite a while, but like I say they were very busy; mine was delicious but the other two meals both Chicken supreme were burnt, quite badly! Issue we had was complain and wait for ages for fresh meals or just eat them and leave....We ate and left.All in a good experience we weren't in a particular rush, but were hungry shame the two chicken dishes had been overcooked.

We dropped in here for dinner on a busy Saturday evening and we were not disappointed. We were extremely well looked after by Izzy who was knowledgeable about the dishes on offer and was very attentive throughout our meal. The food was excellent. We had the Enoki mushroom as a starter. For mains, my husband had the special that evening which was Halibut and I had the seafood linguine. We would love to return but unfortunately we live too far away! Thank you Izzy and the team!

We had a lovely Sunday brunch today. Amazing service by Adam and fantastic food and great location. We will be returning.

Another great Sunday lunch experience at Aqua. Great atmosphere and food as always was good. We collectively went for the kids fish and chips and for the adults Cod and Fillet. Top food and service.

Went to Aqua Portishead today for a Prosecco brunch. The service was excellent, and our waitress Molly could not have been any more attentive and helpful. Prosecco was regularly topped up. And mockails were fantastic. Excellent atmosphere and brilliant value for money. Really nice burger followed by pancakes. All topped off by the fantastic friendly service that Molly gave us

The food we had was lovely and reasonably priced. The restaurant was pretty busy when we visited but we didn’t have to wait long at all for our orders to be taken. The food arrived in a respectable amount of time.Our waiter Adam was perfect. He was funny, accommodating and professional. Just the best combination. The other staff who served us were all brilliant too. Thank you for helping make it a lovely lunch with friends.

We arrived to enjoy a drink on a lovely evening. Met with inpatient waiter. Did not want to move an umbrella for us, too much trouble for him. We saw a table that had become free, which was partially shaded. We moved to this table, only to be told that we shouldn’t have. We had ordered some drinks but decided to move on as had had enough by this time.

Went for a couple of drinks on a Wednesday evening, got our first drinks fairly quickly but after that it went downhill. Service was extremely slow, when attempting to get a second drink one waitress looked straight at us while my partner tried to get her attention but she adjusted some tables and ignored us. We had to go inside to order our second drink which took ages to come. Very nice location and one young male staff member in particular was lovely as he recommended good tourist locations but we left frustrated and feeling as though we’d wasted our time and money.

Waited 45 minutes in splendid service ignorance for our order to arrive whilst all around us who arrived later got theirs. Tip to the manageress: spend more time ensuring your system works and less time taking photos for your social media posts.

Lovely location with comfortable seating and good COVID distancing management. Delicious breakfast with some organic items that was beautifully cooked and presented. Attentive, friendly staff. Recommended and good value.

Fabulous lunch. Service was exemplary - Nicole was the star of the show - so attentive and “nothing is too much” attitude. We felt so looked after and safe. The food was excellent. Thank you!

Great food and wonderful drinks menu including cocktails. Food is also well priced. I’ve been several times as someone who lives locally and a special mention to Adam who I’ve often ended up with as a waiter and glad I have. Can’t do enough to help or serve, all with a smile and a good laugh. Give that man a job as front of house as it seems he was born to do so or something similar as a natural people person.

Wonderful restaurant in an excellent setting. From the moment we arrived, we were treated to a level of customer service that would set the bar for the best restaurants. The menu offered much choice and we left with clean plates. A big shout out to our waitress, Nicole, whose friend,y and professional nature exemplified the class of Aqua.

I had the best brunch of my life, the waitress (Nicole) was the best waitress I've ever had, she deserves a raise, such great customer service!!! Couldn't ask for a better server!!

So impressed with our first visit when we sampled a few of the “small plates” (because we’d already eaten) we ended up going back for breakfast on the next two mornings and enjoyed an evening meal. Food was cooked to perfection on all occasions. Staff were friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back if we’re ever that way again!

Four visits during a two night stay In Portishead, we sampled both breakfast and evening meals which were all incredible! The service at each visit was also amazing, would recommend the scallops and the lamb!

Nice meal, but half the waiter staff are wearing masks, the other half either not wearing them, wearing them below their noses or just wearing them on their chins. There does not seem to be any management of the rules what so ever. Its put us off returning until the rules are lifted.

Weekday lunch for 2. Lovely location, sunny day, good, organised outdoors dining. Restaurant fairly busy but there seemed to be plenty of staff. However, service was slow - would have liked to have stayed for coffee but we were getting close to breaching 2 hour car parking rule locally so had to go after eating. I had Chicken Caesar Salad - fresh crisp lettuce, good dressing, chicken ok although found a couple of small bones in it, but what I assumed to be pieces of bacon were half a dozen tiny pieces of blackened, scorched and hard meat, and the croutons, a significant portion of the meal, were genuinely inedible. I pointed this out but probably to no avail, since the waiter said he’d heard that complaint before (and clearly nothing had been done about it). I would at least have appreciated an apology. My companion had wild mushroom ravioli which was very oily. No great incentive to return, I’m afraid.

Sunday evening 27th JuneRib eye steak so dry as overcookedChicken masala dish which I appreciate chicken needs to be cooked! Was so dry difficult to cut or chew. Starters were both great. Calamari and beetroot & goats cheese dish.Really disappointed as previous meals have been good.Just feel that we have thrown money away as not cheap!Waitress was lovely though

Always have a lovely time at Aqua. Bottomless Brunch was a perfect way to catch up with my friends. Our server Nicole was amazing and kept our glasses full throughout!

Came to Aqua last night on a late booking, we only really wanted a drink but ended up staying as some of us decided to order food. Service was oustanding, had a lovely waitress called Lauren. Will definitely be coming back.

Great food, great menu and fabulous service, however Covid rules seemed very lapse. We weren’t asked to track and trace, sanitise or to put a mask on (we put a mask on) on arrival. People, staff included, were walking about freely with no face mask. Tables, although outside, appeared to be close together, not even a metre apart. As I say, the food and service were excellent but we were made to feel extremely uncomfortable when we raised the Covid issues.

Stellar experience . The food was outstanding (highly recommend the truffle soup & chicken supreme ) and the atmosphere was beautiful ...But was was even more refreshing for someone that has been spoiled with the hospitality standards of Greece,France & Italy was the social ,attentive ,punctual and very friendly service ...special compliments to MZAMO who brightened up our evening ✅

This restaurant runs a respectful Covid regulations service. The service was brilliant along with their evening menus. We had their £15 two course menu before 7pm. £18 for three courses. We sat outside under the canopy, it felt like we were on a summer holiday abroad. The food & wine were excellent, would definitely recommend.

Good food & service in a buzzing environment. Cheerful staff. Huge portions. The only thing we didn't like was an odd fried mushroom starter. Everything else was fresh & tasty.

This was lucky as it was a Saturday at 1830 with no booking, managed to get a table for two inside no problem said the waiter. Excellent food, Calamari and beetroot cheese ball things to start, and great main courses, large cocktails and nice wine. Nice that lockdown has finally ended as its the best food I've eaten in a while.

Lovely breakfast in the sun with my beautiful wife. Had brekkie with kids here too. Nice touch to get a receipe card with the bill to take home! Excellent service nice and food 10 star

Ben was amazing !!! Exceptional service, filled us up without having to chase and 5* service!!! We have come here as a table of 5 with a mixture of beer and prosecco drinkers! Everyone happy!

We booked a table for lunch only to wait 40 minutes for childrens meals and starters to arrive. When we ordered our drinks we asked to place the food order but were told food orders being taken in turn of tables coming in.... 5 minutes later a table of 4 arrived clearly friends of the management. The table behind us quickly had chocolate brownies and chips for the children as the staff knew the restaurant was busy. Our children who were now getting hungry had nothing. We quizzed the waiter why the table behind us had starters before us they replied " it depends if tables have starters". Transpires we ordered starters and so did they clear favouritism. I realise the reastaurant was busy etc but no excuse for setting rules and breaking them 5 minutes later for friends or regulars. The food was good and the staff good but speed of service terriible we would not hurry back especially with small mouths to feed.

Family and Friends meeting for a Sunday Lunch. Good food nice ambiance however the service was very slow. Sat down at 1.00pm it is now 3.45 pm and we have just finished lunch!! Could do with more staff in the kitchen and restaurant.

We visited Aqua Portishead last Wednesday for my birthday. I chose the chicken in masala sauce with dauphinois potatoes, which was a mistake. The sauce was thick and tasteless, dauphinois potatoes were also tasteless and there was an overpowering taste of charcoal in the whole dish. When I turned my chicken over is was very chargrilled, which was actually the only thing I could taste in the meal. Very disappointing, I would be reluctant to go back.

Finally met up with wonderful friends this morning for a delicious bottomless brunch. Lauren our amazing server provided the best service I’ve received in a restaurant for a long time and nothing was too much trouble. It makes such a difference when dining out, and the brunch and bottomless drinks selection are great value - something for everyone. Will be returning.

Recently visited with friends and kids and the service and food could not have been better. Lauren was so attentive and couldn’t have done any more! She was great with the kids and really helpful with the menu. We will definitely be back!

Our first inside restaurant visit for over a year with a little apprehension, we were fine. Tables well spaced out and an air flow throughout Four generations for a family celebration and all very pleased, our food and the service was exceptional so thank you Aqua for a very pleasant experience.

We were lucky enough to have been able to dine inside last night at Aqua restaurant Portishead. I didn’t disappoint , it was a very welcoming experience . Greeted at the entrance , very attentive staff , professional with humour too . Service was prompt and food was delicious . We felt really safe it was clean great atmosphere for a Tuesday evening . Very organised and we didn’t feel rushed at all , this made so much difference to our dining experience . The Hake was so delicious as was the pizza . The desert was awesome too sticky toffee pudding it was for us . Thank you for a great evening we both thoroughly enjoyed our experience of dining with you guys . We will be coming again for sure .

Arrived for drinks with friends and I cannot praise the staff highly enough. Particularly Adam and Alex who couldn’t do enough for us to make our visit as enjoyable as possible. We had such a fab time. Thank you aqua.

I love aqua, for a chain restaurant i cant fault it, the early dinner menu is such good value for money, the bottomless brunch is amazing - they top you up with proseco the whole time and i love the ambiance of the outdoor dining.Great service as always.

We enjoyed a fabulous bottomless brunch, delicious food and the Bloody Marys were the perfect spice. We were served by Adam who was great, very attentive considering how busy it was. Aqua Portishead is a lovely place for a sunny afternoon .

Went back to Aqua after an amazing meal at whiteladies road unfortunately even though it was the same restaurant and same meal it didn’t taste as good. The calamari lacked sauce and had only a few pieces and the chicken ceaser salad was dry and lacked bacon and cheese. The portion sizes and sauces at whiteladies were amazing. The chefs needs tips from the whiteladies road.

THIS IS THE PLACE TO EAT IN THE EVENING UNLESS YOU WANT COVID. Roof closed, windows shut, heaters on, sat far too close. Had to leave due to not following covid guidelines.

Fantastic as always Ben and team. Service and food faultless, felt great to be back and some normality. A shame to read the review before as we didn’t experience this at all Saturday. Everything was very much under control. Maybe, Sounds like first day out of lockdown excitement. Keep doing what you’re doing! We shall be back again this week.

Whilst I full appreciate the want to get out and eat/drink and support our local businesses, I am still numb from my experience on 12th April. The food as usual was amazing and the team great, however their management of current covid restrictions was shocking to a point that it was out of control. No question asked to check in on the nhs app or give details, tables less than 2m apart, hardly anyone (apart from the team) wearing masks when they got up from their tables, plenty of people hugging people from other tables despite being in a 6 themselves and plenty of alcohol still being given to people obviously and well and truly intoxicated......I've really loved going to Aqua in the past so please get this right quickly as you dont want to lose the great reputation you had!!!! Dont go for short term gain to lose that long term reputation.....Lastly you may need to keep some of the sliding windows open to adhere to the current 50% 'open' ruling for covered outside space.....

We ate twice here last week for Christmas, and once a week when the pandemic allows. The food is great quality, the staff are brilliant - nothing is too much trouble, Aqua is making an effort for people to eat good food, in relaxed surroundings ( being careful of distancing ) and when we visit things feel like they used to, we sit outside with the heaters on and people are socialising, enjoying each other’s company with great food and service.What more could you want in such depressing times, it’s value for money for a good experience.A special shout out to Alex for consistently great service and Ben for always being such a good host.See you soon aqua x

Had a lovely evening dining outside under the awning with friends now we are in tier 2. Warm and cosy and felt very safe. Food good as always.

6 days until Xmas...on the 6th day of Our Lord’s making...sat 6 young chaps brimming with the excitement of all those entering a tier 2 newly endorsed establishment; one can only imagine the hysteria! Despite our best efforts, last Saturday’s 2 hour bottomless brunch ran smoothly and ended all too soon. I believe this was down to our hosts Nicole and Adam as they handled the positively industrious environment with a mastery and proficiency rarely seen in hospitality these days. The food was presented quickly, was of a high standard and never lacked the company of a beverage, even in peak times. Merry Xmas to the whole Aqua family, truly bravo!
