Fantastic gold course with great views and club house.

Catering and staff were excellent the whole club atmosphere was very relaxing and nice, definitely worth a visit

This is just incredible, solid old fashioned golf. Very high quality windswept fine grasses, the greens are beautiful. Fun layout and great for thinking golfers… It needs to be played!

A great golf course - one of the finest inland courses England has to offer! Amazing greens in superb condition. Unique holes that off beauty, risks and rewards! A challenge to play the course A must visit on any golfers list!! Plenty of Opens run during the year and the clubhouse and catering is fantastic! A great day out

Great golf course. We had excellent weather. I’m not sure how it would be on a less pleasant day as it’s very exposed to the elements. Food was nice in the clubhouse.

Started here our Scotland Golf-trip. On a scale from 1 to 5 : friendliness 5, scenery 5. Would play it again anytime 🤩

What a spectacular golf course!

What a fantastic course. Inland links with pot bunkers and super fast greens. Enjoyed it from the first tee to the last green. Play this if you get the chance. You won't regret it.

Well worth a visit. You will not be disappointed. Greens protected by electric wires too keep sheep off. Greens A1 and staff and officials very welcoming.

Different course when the wind blows! 360 degrees views of the lakes and dales. Was in great condition and sheep seem well trained. Friendly club house. Not long but a fair challenge with one of the most intimidating par 3 holes around.

Arrived Saturday morning on a golf society day, 16 in party made to feel welcome. Bacon bun and coffee arrived as soon as seated and was lovely. Course was fantastic a really nice round, everyone enjoyed it. Meal after was also excellent. A great day out, thanks.

First class golf course and the club house is very well presented. Could maybe extend the range of real ales but the food more than made up for that. Very friendly staff as well.

Always enjoy the visit, greens spot on and course really dry wind makes it a good test.

Booked online, friendly welcome at the clubhouse, managed to rent a couple of Powercaddies as a fairly hilly track. Course in good condition, particularly the greens and surrounds as they were protected by a low electric fence to keep the sheep out! The sheep were actually a major issue for us as we have never walked through so many sheep droppings which after 18 holes made our shoes almost unusable. A shame as a picturesque course with great views across the fells. Not an easy course to score well on, and must be a vicious test in the winter. Good day out, but still not sure if we’d go back due to the sheep, pity!

We unfortunately didn't get to play golf but enjoyed a fabulous Sunday carvery . Beautiful setting and great food.

The course was in fantastic condition as always.we where made to feel really welcome in the clubhouse and breakfast was really nice worth every penny 👍

Friendly and challenging little course. Liked it so much we played it again the next day. Like Royal North Devon with all the sheep but more fun!

What a fantastic day everyone has had.36 holes of golf. Bacon butties on arrival sandwiches and chips for lunch and steak pie and chips afterwards all for £55. Unbelievable value

Excellent links style inland course. Greens are tricky to stay on so makes for a real challenge. Plenty of sheep on the course but never got in the way. A real treat and will return. Very welcoming clubhouse too!

Played today in Ladies Open in gorgeous weather. The course is beautiful with immaculate greens. Each hole is different and some very interesting par 3s. Had bacon sarnie before game and meal after game both were lovely and the people very friendly, I will be back

Played Appleby GC and very enjoyable, staff were very helpful as we had to change our time due to travel delays. The course offers a good challenge, greens very good condition and testing, well protected by bunkers. Some great views. The starter and steward were very helpful with starting and refreshments. Well worth a visit, will hope to play again.

Good challenge the par 3s are great with a mixture of some short par 4s and long par 4s.the greens were excellent fast and true.

Una joya escondida de un campo de golf, de fácil acceso ya que está a solo un par de minutos de la A 66. La bienvenida fue genial y nos hicieron sentir realmente bienvenidos. El campo es una buena prueba de golf con algunos hoyos extravagantes largos y cortos, los greens eran rápidos y verdaderos, los greens están vallados para mantener a las ovejas fuera de los greens, pero esto no restará valor a su juego, hay algunos cambios de elevación, pero aún manejables si tiene problemas con las colinas. Este curso definitivamente vale la pena una visita, sin duda regresaré. Solo una mención sobre la comida, fue una excelente comida sana exactamente lo que esperarías. Me encantó nuestro día en Appleby GC.

Lovely course, first time I've played Appleby. Course playing firm and bouncy, greens were lovely too. Will come back again as we found the course very enjoyable. Staff and members were also lovely

Great golf course and good food in clubhouse. Greens are good all year round and the course is always open no matter how much rain there's been. I live in barnard castle and wish Appleby was half the distance as i would join here as a member. I am considering joining here for the winter membership as barny is always shut after a few days off rain!

Super día jugando al golf en un ambiente relajado con amigos. Nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos después de reservar en línea. Buggy estaba listo para nosotros y tomamos unas copas y comimos en la casa club. La comida era de muy buena calidad y el servicio era excelente, especialmente desde el tipo detrás del bar que nos hizo sentir muy bienvenidos.Las vistas a través del curso son impresionantes y los greens en excelentes condiciones. Nos encantaría jugar allí de nuevo.

Jugó aquí durante la semana como parte de un día de la sociedad. Teníamos emparedados de tocino antes de partir. El campo de golf en sí tiene unas vistas fantásticas. Los fairways y greens estaban en muy buenas condiciones. Terminamos nuestro día con una comida de dos platos. Un excelente día de golf y comida.

Here as a visitor. Reasonably priced round at £23 and lovely course to play. Not too tricky but enough of a challenge.

Had lunch after a funeral and good selection with refills and was looked after very well. Well done and thank you.

A must play golf course of natural moorland and stunning scenery. Sheep abound this landscape and it's only the electrically charged fencing protecting the greens discourages any further encroachment from these gentle creatures. But don't let this discourage you from playing this truly remarkable course of fast greens, sometimes intimidating tee shots its a true joy to play. A comfortable club house awaits the returning golfer to soothe him back to normality after what can only be described as a day of your golfing life you will never forget.

Lunch with a view, We visited on a Tuesday, Absolutely brilliant meal and as another visitor said, The chef can make chips.

A good winter course that dies not get waterlogged. A thorough test for all golfers in the wind.

Appleby is normally a good track , but playing winter alliance there today was a joke on wintervtees and greens , alliance need to look at this in future.
