It is a lovely cafe, the cakes were yummy and the teapots were great as it meant I got 3 cups of tea rather than just one. The manager was really friendly and interesting to chat with. I'd definitely go back as it was much more personal than most cafes where the waiters and waitresses don't even look at your face throughout the order, service and payment.

We stopped here for afternoon tea as advertised outside. Although we arrived after 3pm and they were closing at 4pm we were advised that this was ok (two couples arrived much later than we did for tea and cakes and they too were served without issue even though they would not finish until after 4pm). It was lovely afternoon tea, choice of sandwiches and good quality bread, a large pot of tea, two scones, and a slice of the cake of your choice, all for under £16 per person.

What a lucky find! This little tearoom is tucked away but well worth a visit. We (and our dog!) were made very welcome in the lovely, bright conservatory one showery afternoon, and enjoyed delicious coffees, cakes and scones. Thoroughly recommend a visit, and we will certainly be back!

I beg of these people to close their doors and enter into a more appropriate business for their skills, which unfortunately is neither customer services or catering. The beyond frosty reception and miserable faces is too much to bear. Why on earth they choose to do a customer based business when they so clearly find it painfully miserable is beyond me. The food is barely edible. When you have Jack Shack around the corner with the always friendly and happy Jack and Michelle, with delicious food, and other really nice cafes, there’s honestly no reason to even step foot in here. I hate to be so harsh, but I’m honestly sick of wasting my money on people who don’t deserve it.

My request was simple as I wanted to grab a quick coffee before my parking ran out. The latte was very good and amazingly reasonable at £2 - and no queue! The cakes also looked very good. I did leave rather perplexed as to why the cafe was so quiet on a busy Saturday morning with the market on - no one was there! It seems a shame, I hope the issues written about regarding the atmosphere can get resolved, as feels like the place should have been bustling. On this occasion it worked in my favour and I’d recommend the coffee!

Very strange place with strange staff. Barbara had no idea how to work the till so we waited for 5 mins until Jolyen was summoned from the dark reaches of the kitchen. He explained what to but she still didn't grasp the concept. Finally all became good and we could order a latte and a tea. We went to sit in the lovely garden where a lovely couple and their 2 week old baby were sitting. As we had only ordered drinks we didn't expect to have to wait the 10mins it took for it to arrive. My husband commented on the rather peculiar staff and how they had no sense of joy. The other customer agreed. He then went to ask for some butter for his wifes scone and was charged an extra 50p. It arrived some minutes later delivered In person by Jolyen. It was a very surreal experience and I'm afraid one I shall not be eager to repeat. Having said that the tea was lovely and the crockery was pristine just a very strange atmosphere and attitude.

We were enticed in by a notice in the window advertising orange flavoured hot chocolate. This did not disappoint. Interesting selection of cakes; although orange curd and cranberry [a flavoursome combination] was rather soggy. However, the atmosphere was distinctly lacking [there wasn't one] - largely due to poor quality furniture, no music and a completely unfriendly 5 foot wall topped with screening, between customers and staff. Whilst I understand the need for Covid precautions, this huge barrier gave the impression of staff being imprisoned. All very clean - just completely bizarre. Even stranger was the notice on a toilet door stating that the toilet was 'twinned with a latrine' somewhere in Nepal!' Unclear whether this was a strange joke or some sort of charitable affair. Very expensive for such a strange place and I certainly wouldn't go back; although I have a feeling that it probably has its own local loyalty-base......

The cafe has a great setting, but unfortunately the welcome, food and service don’t match up to expectations. Maybe good for a coffee to get out of the rain, but our soup and sandwich at £7.50 were average at best. Our impression is that this is a tourist trap that has given up on caring if it gets any repeat customers. We wouldn’t be back when there are much nicer places in the centre of Warwick offering a higher quality experience at the same price.

I was willing to accept the awkward atmosphere and grubby menus because I simply wanted a hot drink and a place to feed my baby (a tea room right?!). But after ordering a hot chocolate my husband joined me slightly later and looked through the menu, undecided whether to risk ordering food or stick with a coffee, the member of staff came over and said "excuse me but this isn't a waiting room!" After challenging this comment my husband had to walk out because the lady was so rude. I would not recommend this place at all.

We visited Warwick last night, for their Christmas light switch on. We found this place due to needing a rest from the rain, we just went to the nearest place we could see - what a disappointment! The lady gave us absolutely no welcome, in fact we felt like we were intruding! Had it not been for the rain, we wouldn’t have stayed! The place was empty, but she didn’t even find the time to crack a smile our way - it was very strange! I can’t even say the hot chocolate was up to much, very bland. Definitely will not return, there are some lovely places in Warwick - this is not one of them!

Having just seen the other reviews it all seems to have been said! The grey haired lady gave no welcome and we were the only customers. We had to pay before having our drinks and light breakfast which was cold toast with a smear of spread..not butter and just smeared in the centre. My lightly poached eggs were good but partner's scrambled eggs was dry and rubbery. Such a shame as it is in a prime position.

The venue needs a renovation- it wasn't set in a particular 'theme' and was poorly laid out. The bright lime was the only consistency in the cafe. There was no atmosphere when we visited on a sunny Sunday afternoon- no music, no people. The tables were sticky as were the menus, which were poorly designed and needed a re-think.The only thing that kept us from walking out so far was the wonderful display of homemade cakes!A very old lady served us but was painfully slow at taking the order. I ordered a cappuccino and slice of cake, which took almost 15 minutes before coming out. Cake was yummy and my friends ordered sandwiches which were delicious. The experience would have been vastly improved if there was a warm welcome by the two members of staff on who were hiding behind the kitchen most of the time... even a smile would have been better!

My mum and I visited Apple tree last Tuesday for lunch. I ordered a gluten free salmon and cream cheese sandwich. I am not one to complain but it was completely inedible. I took it back to the server and apologised I could not eat it as the bread was mushy on the ended and solid everywhere else. It looked like it had been in their freezer for about 2 years! He apologised and said he would make me another. The second sandwich was just as bad! I ended up eating the salmon (which was nice) and leaving the rest. It was evident just looking at it that it was not edible, I won't be returning here!

Ideally situated for visitors to St Mary’s church, the Apple Tree offers a wide range of reasonably priced food. My daughter and I visited this place today. We never got welcomed by either of the two staff who were around the counter. I asked for a mug of tea as I find a teapot full just too much. Watching the woman who served me I noticed a look of disdain on her face as I asked. She quickly said 'It will still be £2.50p and you'll get less tea'. My reply that I preferred a mug and wasn't bothered about the relative cost met with even more disdain. My daughter had a bottle of Raspberry Lemonade. We were invited to take a seat and the drinks would be brought to us. We seemed to be waiting some time when eventually the drinks arrived. 'We serve people in order' the lady announced assuming we were rather tired of waiting. The place itself was basic but pleasant enough. The service, however, was dismal. Whether they were short-staffed or couldn't care less, I don't know. I do know that given the number of similar places in Warwick you can choose from, this place needs to up its game. I must be a glutton for punishment, but I decided to revisit this cafe. I placed an order for tea for one and a toasted teacake with butter. Oddly the teacake turned up first, absolutely burnt with a blob of margarine. I pointed out that it was burnt and was told in a rude and condescending manner, that it was "well cooked". As I pointed out there's a big difference between, well cooked and something that looked like it has been cremated on the end of the devil's pitchfork in hell. The staff member that was telling me that it was well cooked. Was saying this over the beep, beep, beep of a fire alarm and a smell of smoke from the kitchen. The alarm was being hit with a broomstick by another staff member an old woman in attempt to silence it. Making the statement that it was well cooked ludicrous. I also pointed out that I asked for butter not for a stingy blob of margarine. I got told it was an adequate amount and that if I wanted more I would have to pay extra. I insisted that the teacake was returned to the kitchen and replacement given. When my tea turned up in some builders mug with the milk already added. Rather than in a pot as advertised. I refused to pay and got up and left, asking myself why oh why, oh why did I go back in there and put myself through such an ordeal.

I was told by the elderly woman in there in an unpleasant manner that they don't cater for exotic tastes and faddy diets. I asked therefore just for tea, which they had only one type that was served to me by I believe was her son. What was put before me I can only describe as warmed up dishwater served with stingy amount of milk that smell gone off. The cup that came with this had a distinct chip in it. I did accept it and got up to leave. The son became very aerated and demand payment. I continued to refuse payment and proceeded to leave. Stopped in for a snack and some tea on a day trip to Warwick. Inviting bright place with a good selection of teas and food. The lady behind the counter was courteous and bought our tea over very quickly. The Welsh rarebit took a bit longer than expected to come to the table but it was very tasty. Not a bad place to stop in if you happen to be in the area.

long wait, staff appear to argue a lot in front of customers and get stressed out very easily, extremely uninviting....wouldn't reccomend

I often find the usual American coffee shops so unhelpful and cramped when having my arms full with a toddler and having found this little place and I couldn't recommend it more. We had a lovely warm welcome and was given time to settle before the order was taken at our table by a very friendly lady who asked if there was any more she could do to help. The area was spacious and very clean and the food was beautifully home made, I had a lovely sandwich where there was certainly no scrimping on the filling! A very relaxing experience, felt just like popping to my grandmas for lunch! Would highly recommend.

This cafe always gives excellent service and the food is always delicious and freshly prepared! My sister and I often come here on my lunch break and generally have a very generously filled toasted sandwich always served with some side salad and veg crisps - very tasty. We are always greeted with smiles -a very friendly cafe.

My sister and I have lunch together fairly regularly at the Apple Tree Tearooms and it never disappoints us. The staff are lovely - so friendly and accommodating, and the food is always yummy! Today we sat in the beautiful little garden and I really can't think of a nicer place to spend my lunchtime in Warwick. We both had the chicken, mozzarella and tomato toasted sandwich with a lovely pot of Earl Grey tea - delicious. We will, of course, be back for more.

Visited during a very warm afternoon. Thankfully plenty of outdoor tables both front and back. I chose the front as it was in the shade. Great spot for people watching in the shadow of St Mary's church. The food was well up to tea room standard with a top 5 rating for hygiene on the door. Always a good sign. The staff were very friendly and I will certainly go there again.

I visit the tearoom regularly, good quality food and drink, friendly staff and an added bonus of a lovely little garden in the sun. This is an independent family run tea room, not a busy, rushed Costa which I don't enjoy, you can relax in a comfotable, quiet atmosphere. Will visit many times more!

Food was good but took forever and 45 minute wait for a cup of tea and a coffee. Woman behind the till simply not got a clue. Potential there to be amazing but needs new staff. Ended up with a parking ticket as they were so slow.

Awful staff no welcome, no explanation of how to order, ignored when asked for anything! Delayed on a sandwich and no mention of waiting 45 minutes for it! Shame because the food was actually ok. Wouldn't use this place on my recommendation.

Upon entering this establishment, it was clear that serving any customers was a hassle and the staff had no customer service training at all. The food was over priced,£31 for 4 lights breakfasts!!!!! Our server was rude, and didn't want our custom, we had just completed a Virgin hot air balloon ride over the Midland Flats, we were all on a high for the day. The staff was so negative, however, we would never let people like this spoil our day. We also asked if we could charge our phone for 5 minutes, and we were looked at like aliens and told we are an independent, we don't do things like that! Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy!

Awful hospitality!!!!Following a visit to this tearoom I found the staff to be rude, tired, and unwilling to accommodate our simple request,After ordering 4 basic breakfasts for £32!!!!! Yes £32!!!!!! We simply asked if we could charge our phone in the plug socket next to the table with a stern and rude yell of NO from the owner! Not being able to charge our phone wasn't the problem, the rudeness of the staff and owner is the issue here, and the price aswell! We found a much nicer tearoom around the corner which only cost £17 and was exceptional quality and service! And they charged my phone too! :-)If your on a visit to Warwick stay clear of this place!!!!!!!!!

We visited the apple tearooms for breakfast prior to our trip to warwick castle, we were not allowed to use the toilet until we had placed our order, Barbra who was serving us was very cold and in no way welcoming. We placed a substantial order for breakfast and asked to charge our phone prior to our impending trip to the castle. We were flatly refused, and when we questioned this, we were told very rudely that we clearly hadn't been to enough places to realise that this service was not offered which was highly offensive as we are all very well travelled. I would highly recommend on visiting warwick that you steer clear of this tearoom, we found one round the corner called the tuckery, who were so much more accommodating and friendly and even charged our phone for us.

My sister was up for the day and we had lunch here, sadly we were the only customers but it was 14.20 so really between lunch and tea and we had jkt potato each, mine with baked beans, hers with cheddar cheese. Huge potato and very well cooked with lots of topping and the salad garnish even had peppers in it!£5 for each and neither of us could finish them and I'm a big eater!Charming service and spotlessly clean ~ including the toilets!Definitely will visit it again.

Looks fine from the outside & the menu had a veggie breakfast, the staff were friendly but. We had to wait a long time ( the place was virtually empty) for the tea, coffee & then for the toast & then for the breakfast, I had to request sauce & salt & pepper adding further delay. The breakfast was 2 veggie sausages (which they had been given as free sample) beans, mushrooms & a RUBBER fried egg. My wife had toast with scrambled egg & salmon, egg ok, toast ok but the salmon was the cheap offcuts. The cost for this was over £16 ((£2.50 for the tea!) My advice is this place is ok for cake & expensive hot drink but if you require breakfast go around to market square, better service, better food & better value

My sister and I love to meet and eat at the Apple Tree Tearooms. We are always made very welcome by the lovely staff. There is a good menu choice and the food is always delicious and good value for money. We love the toasted sandwiches. There is a choice of seating - inside or outside. The little garden is beautiful. Everywhere is spotlessly clean, including the toilet. It is the best tearoom in Warwick - highly recommended.

My sister and I often meet up at these tearooms for some lunch. Today we sat outside in the walled garden with views of St Mary's church from them. We had some really tasty toasted sandwiches which are always made fresh to order and always come with some side salad and veg/hand cooked tasty crisps. We also had some lime and pistachio sponge cake with buttercream which was delicious. The owners of this tearoom are always very friendly and give good service. An added bonus is that they offer a collectors card which after 9 apple tree stickers you get a 10th pot of tea or regular coffee free!!

Great little place to meet for snack lunch and a quiet chat. Lovely owners - when my sandwich wasn't up to their standards (I am used to GF being difficult to get right), they came and insisted on redoing it. Been there 3 times since happening upon it.

Just popped in for a bite to eat in the morning on my way through Warwick. I didn't even know it was there, but as I turned onto Old Square from Northgate Street I saw The Apple Tree Tearooms popping out in all its 'Apple Green' glory! What a colour! Had a quick check of the menu and then wandered in. I was the first one in and took a table by the window looking directly out onto St. Mary's Church and it's an envious view I can tell you!Had a sausage and egg sandwich with brown sauce (we are in the Midlands after all) and a latte. The sandwich was yummy and the ingredients were all fresh and delicious and the coffee wasn't bad either. The proprietor seems quiet but pleasant and when I asked if I could charge my phone he informed me that while they do offer free WIFI; they don't allow use of their sockets. I was fine with this though as in some cases it can be a matter of insurance costs for a small business to provide electrical outlets suitable for customers.I would recommend a visit to The Apple Tree Tearooms next time you are in Warwick. It's quiet, cosy and the food is wonderful.

Visited here for a quick snack after the walks of Warwick castle. Service was friendly and didn't take as long as some people say. Mrs had a vegetable and mozzarella sandwich which she said was quite bland. I had a cake which was nice but found a hair in the sugar cube bowl. Its an ok place but probably should have carried on walking as there were lots of other tea rooms to choose from

Went here with my mum and daughter for afternoon tea. Staff were lovely and helpful, especially towards my 8 month old daughter. The food was nice. Drinks were good - nice variety of teas. Sitting in the window it was very cosy and I've spied a lovely garden for when the weather cheers up. Hidden away so much less busy than elsewhere in Warwick. I recommend and will be back myself.

Had my beady eye on the cakes through the window as I never seem to be around when this place is open. Finally went in yesterday to be disappointed. Slow service and no atmosphere. Maybe some music is needed? Only one person serving, meaning anyone else coming in slowed down the arrival of our food. I left my mum there as I had to go...25 mins is a bit long to wait for scones...Real shame, takeaway cake was nice!
