Apple Store Cafe in Wyre

Sandwiches with very generous fillings, very good chips and lovely coffee, good food in a lovely setting, bright and light with natural grapevine as decoration

Great experience altogether! We loved our coffee, the food (halloumi wrap, brisket, smoked chicken club (great rolls!)). The only criticism came from our (picky) 8 year-old who found the ham on her kids box sandwich much too thickly sliced. Her loss of course, but maybe something to consider for other kids too.

We normally come here for breakfast as a family a few times a year. We come back because it’s a lovely atmosphere, lovely food and lovely coffee. My additional needs child is normally adamant that he needs to get an apple from here (given the name he expects there to be lots of apples to buy and eat!)🍏 His eyes lit up and he was so happily surprised when an apple came beautifully presented to him by a waitress on a plate of its own! I was really taken aback by the thoughtfulness of the staff here and how they made it a special thing for him, thank you so much.

Great food and the service is excellent. On a sunny cold day it is wonderful to be so warm and the log burners keep it warm when cloudy.

It was a lovely meal out. There is a great atmosphere in the restaurant and the food was delicious - we had the cheese and onion and the steak and kidney pies- great portion sizes! There team very friendly and welcoming too. We definitely plan to return soon!

Delicious tasty menu, great ambiance and service. Very dog friendly to ! Even brought water to the table for our dog also

Scone and tea were pleasant was a nice stop after paddle boarding. Service has improved after the change in management.

A change to the normal routine. As colleagues, we decided to venture out for lunch and I recommended this place after attending a couple of other times with my wife and children. Having been informed of the special, Smoked salmon, creamy chive sauce with rosti and asparagus, we thought we would give it a try. Worth every minute and pound spent on buying and enjoying this fine lunch. The lunch offering moved from a typical lunch to a gastro offering which was welcomed. We will be back.

The food is usually very nice and the setting is lovely. It can get very warm inside due to the fabric of the building and the log fire inside. Unfortunately this visit they served us a very, very salty watercress soup. Also we sat outside and it was served to us barely warm. Staff always nice and friendly but it does have very limited toilet facilities. I like that it is dog friendly and the cakes are lovely I think it is a real pity that they do not take bookings

One of our usual brunch haunts for the past few years but really disappointing today. A noticeable difference in quality. Also cashless now which is ridiculous. Won’t be returning.

Such a lovely place, I must admit we do prefer this cafe for breakfast over lunch but all in all a really really nice spot. We visited today - Sunday 3rd of March 2024 and sat outside with our two dogs, we ordered a sausage & hashbrown bun and eggs Benedict with hashbrowns - all absolutely delicious and served in record time. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and although my partner isn’t really a breakfast food lover even he kept going on about how nice it was, the hashbrowns were HUGE & definitely a hit for both of us. You can see from the picture how lovely my eggs Benedict was. My caramel cappuccino was really good as well, delicious coffee and hot! The surroundings are beautiful and all the staff were welcoming and lovely. Some of the recent reviews that are insulting the new owners are honestly just awful and people should be ashamed of themselves for writing such negative, hurtful things. We said that today was probably our best visit yet, so people just need to calm down and stop being so precious. To take over such a busy, popular business is a huge ordeal and the public should be kinder. You all do a great job and we really enjoyed our visit today, thank you!🫶🏽

Fantastic - Steak pudding chips and mushy peas. What better to have for lunch on a chilly February day. Service was great food delicious (extra gravy no problem) will be revisiting for more. Worth the trip out.

We have been going to the Apple Store for years. Always enjoyed the varied menu, quality of the food, friendly staff and superb location. However, since owners changed last month and the menu changed I have to say the quality and presentation has gone downhill. Today I had an egg mayo sandwich which was as good as ever although the garnish was a bit sparse and my wife had the cream of chicken soup (always a favourite of hers) which unfortunately was over-salty and over-creamy, a big disappointment. Previously soup came with a delicious bap but today just two slices of bread. As we were leaving we bumped into a friend who has also been coming here for years and he remarked that his sister had to leave her soup recently as it was ‘over-salty’. He expressed disappointment that ‘Sally’s scones’ have been replaced by a much inferior offering. We will call in again but perhaps we’ll eat elsewhere and just have coffee here. Very sad,

Really disappointing lunch. The lovely options of fig and goats cheese salad is no longer on the menu. I ordered a Ploughman and it looked like a three-year-old add dished it out. The quality was also really disappointing and presentation terrible. Very sad about this because the apple café was one of my go to places, but no longer. Room for improvement.

You will not find a better setting in which to eat. It's beautiful (surrounded by woodland). Food and service is also very good. The breakfast (time-dependent) is excellent (so good that after about six visits I've never had anything else). This place (at Wyresdale Park (near Scorton)) is a bit off the beaten track but well worth the effort. Enjoy the surroundings, enjoy the food. I would highly recommend this place.

Absolutely dreadful. Why do new owners change a winning formula?? I had Fish and Chips with award winning mushy peas The peas were cold and had to be taken away to be microwaved?? The chips here at the Apple Store use to be fantastic,however what I got was overcooked lukewarm Skinny fries, chips should be home cooked and not this rubbish.We certainly will not be going back. Hopefully the new owners will read this!!!

Embarrassingly bad Was busy but still no excuses. The drinks didn’t arrive . When the soup came is was vegetable not the onion as ordered we were then told they had ran out . The pork barms came and no apple sauce or stuffing or crackling. They did bring a plate with some crackling on after we said. The gravy was cold and the chips cold People on next table chips uncooked and other table bits missing off sandwiches and no drinks. Waiting on staff were pleasant Manager came over but basically going to every table blaming the kitchen and that they had just taken the place over. Just made a joke out of it all. Cakes were good. Staff were having to walk through a queue of waiting clients with hot food from the kitchen . Not very safe and accident waiting to happen . Absolutely dreadful and such a shame as a great place after a long walk. After complaining we were just refunded for the soup that was changed without telling us.

Used to be great food in the beautiful location but it got taken over yesterday. Bread roll was dry and looked like a cheap roll from Poundland. I had it with soup which was a small portion and unremarkable taste. Coffee was good but in a small cup. Very disappointed as I’ve been going here for years with family and friends but I don’t think I’ll be going under the current management.

I’m writing this so the management see it, please get the place back upto a good standard.
