Wide variety of drinks and light foods such as their lovely cheese and chive scones. Quick and very pleasant service. Returned today (1 August 24), same good quality and friendly staff. One change... only accept credit cards for payment.

The food was good but the apple pie was very sweet. The service made by the girls is very good. You can also buy products from coffee to honey or tomato juices.

A gorgeous gem that's easy to overlook as you don't realise how far back the building extends. Vibe was immaculate.

This place is an Ipswich Gem, conveniently located excellently crafted coffee (even the ice team was good) , lovely sausage roll and impeccable service from the staff. The staff were very helpful with recommendations and such a joy to speak to and the decor and ambience of the cafe was second to none. They also have a cute outdoor garden area I really like.

We called in here for a light breakfast as it was close to the hotel that we were staying in. The coffee and toast were good. However, it was a little expensive compared to the rest of the town and annoyingly they didn’t take cash.

An atmospheric niche cafe we were lucky to find on a day trip to Ipswich. A nice selection of cakes and well brewed coffee served by excellent staff. Don't miss it.

Went in for breakfast, very small, only 4 tables, but was lucky and got a table. Can reserve a table especially for lunch, can sit in the courtyard if weather good. I had the blueberry pancakes and have to say they are the best I've had. Staff friendly, place clean and tidy. Highly recommend

Had afternoon tea today at this cafe, this was my first visit. It was soo good. The food is super tasty and their susage roll is BETTER than Greggs and the scones are the best I ever had. Good selection of hot drinks, I can only recommed it.

Where there today for the second time with a friend. I had the halloumi, chilli and avocado sandwich and added a fried egg to it. It is now 21:55, about 8 hours after I had the sandwich and it was so good I'm still craving another! Whilst the price for a sandwich and can of coke might have been on the more expensive side, the quality of the food was second to none.

Anytime I come to Ipswich, Applaud is a priority! The most delicious tasting coffee, really good cakes and their menu is full of good lunch choices. I’ve been to a few of their Drawing Clubs in the evenings which I’ve adored, such a wholesome place and always with some delicious cake! Their study space upstairs is amazing as a student, such a treat to have an amazing coffee brought to you as you work! Will forever be returning and recommending

Applaud is the most amazing place to go for coffee! The beans are beautiful and you can taste the love that is put into the food. the atmosphere is honestly amazing. As a regular here I couldn’t go anywhere else. The girls are so welcoming and coming here makes my day! Thank you so much ladies!!!

First visit to Applaud ... I had an hour connection for a train. It was worth the walk into town! Very friendly staff, nice seating areas at the back and very good coffee. Great music too. Highly recommended!

I made use of the lovely workspace upstairs whilst having a bite to eat (tasty BLT) and an iced latte. Friendly and welcoming.

We had Afternoon tea at Applaud, the sandwiches and cakes were outstanding, unlimited drinks was an added bonus. I’d recommend the hot chocolate with hazelnut syrup. The dietary needs were met and the sourdough bread was very good

Applaud is one of my fav coffee and cake spots in Suffolk. I go as often as I can. Their cinnamon rolls especially are to die for. So light and delicious. I have been with friends, family, as a couple and solo either to pick up something to take away or to work from their workspace upstairs. All their food is good quality. The team is always friendly. It's just a perfect place. It's a small place but it has a lot of heart and soul.

Made a long overdue return today. Had a most delicious ham, cheese and chilli jam toastie plus a coffee. Do you know what I mean if I describe the toastie as tender? Some toasted sandwiches are just a bit too crunchy. The bread on this one was toasted to perfection - not too much and not too little. The filling oozed into the toast to make a completely satisfying munch. Then the coffee - what a combo with the toastie.

I go here often, it’s my favourite breakfast place in Ipswich! The scrambled eggs are always delicious, the cinnamon rolls are to die for! The collection of cakes is always amazing! The staff are always super friendly and the coffee is always delicious! The garden is a beautiful place to sit and enjoy some delicious food and coffee!

Had a bacon sandwich this AM - two bits of bacon and granary bread. £5.50 - Felt as if i had my pants pulled down, but was hungry. I wasn't wowed and was no dis simular to something i could make at home.

I've been here once before, many years ago, and it took me a while to track it down this time - not knowing what it was called was a disadvantage. Well worth it. The garden is a sunny spot and has a very tranquil feel to it. The coffee is excellent - one of those coffees that lingers in the mouth for a while after. A tasty cinnamon bun was a perfect complement. Slightly more expensive than the mainstream but well worth it.

WOW WOW WOW!!! I am blown away by the food at Applaud. I had the broadbean pate with Parmesan on sourdough bread, this was hands down one of the best meals I have had in a very long time. The staff are lovely and so helpful. Overall a very cosy atmosphere.

Extremely good coffee and food. You need to know to just walk through the door at the side of the counter, no one tells you but loads of seating out there. Second thing take a picture of the menu board, no menus on tables. You can also work from home in the upstairs on the cafe.

Amazing place for coffee and lunch! They are exceptionally accommodating and I was disorganised enough to place an order for 8 cinnamon rolls a day before I needed them. They not only were happy to accommodate my request, but we’re genuinely the nicest group of baristas I have encountered. As someone who has worked in not only a cafe but hospitality in general, they are a testament to exceptional service. Thank you, Applaud. You serve great food, wonderful coffee and have nurtured an excellent atmosphere for your staff to serve the public amazingly 💕

Best café in town. We've had breakfast and lunch here before, both times absolutely fantastic. All ingredients are fresh and delicious. Staff are always working flat out!! Cheers!

This spot was our favourite whilst living locally. Even during lockdown when take away was available, the staff were still so upbeat, welcoming and helpful. Post-lockdown the team were just as friendly and appreciative of business. The coffee is the best in the area and the cakes & pastries are to die for (former pastry chef!) Nice but too small so if you walk all the way there, and all 6 tables full you e had it, so don't bother unless passing.

I asked around in Ipswich for the best coffee in town and it was a unanimous answer 'Applaud' - and it didn't disappoint! Now my go to coffee stop everytime I'm in town.

This is a small business who honoured a voucher from 2 years ago that could not be used before the expiry date. Had a lovely afternoon tea. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Fantastic little coffee shop , fair prices and friendly staff, wonderful building and great tasting coffee, that's tastes as good as it smells.

Slow staff. No interest in customers. Warm weak coffee expensive and had to clear our table. Cold scone not even warmed up ☹

You wouldn't think they were in the hospitality business. Yes, it was almost closing time but the door was open, lights on, and a customer was making a payment at the counter, but would they sell me a cake to take away? No. "We're closed" is all I got. What an odd attitude in these difficult times. Only in Suffolk!

We went as a family of 6 on a Saturday morning. We did not book but after a short queue we were seated (still had a choice of inside or out) I had a full cooked breakfast it comes with Mexican beans - it was D-Lish-Ous . A couple of pancakes (pulled three high but thick and soft) bacon sandwiches, scrambled egg on toast - it was all excellent. Even the cheese, ham and tomato croissant was large and filling. Service was a bit slow and you have to order at the counter and pay as you go along - a bit pricey. But nice location and lovely friendly staff.

Cute little cafe and a lovely place to get a coffee and sandwich. Friendly staff and nice outdoor space, mostly under cover if raining though some tables were too wet to sit at so sat indoors. Clean toilet. Good simple menu choice.

My first visit. All very nice... very friendly staff. I did notice (and I was bothered) that none of the staff had masks on...such a shame. But we had our masks on and was happy with that. Bacon sandwich with granary bread was delicious, coffee was a little weak, but looked better than it tasted. Would recommend, do try out the bacon sarnie...

We enjoyed the food we chose and the atmosphere but unfortunately the specials as advertised on the specials board were not available on a Saturday, only the breakfasts, which was disappointing. Go with the expectation that there is a reduced menu. Otherwise it was a pleasant experience.

I didn’t really expect much as I was just going in to get a quick bite to eat and a coffee before starting work. I actually ended up staying a bit longer than originally planned because I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff were really friendly and my bacon sandwich was soo good! A beautiful outside space that is surprisingly large with plenty of seating. The staff serving were very friendly and helpful and then menu is a great size where there is enough choice but not too overwhelming. Great coffee, I love the cold brew. Will come again!
