Not happy as bought extra poppadoms & onion bajhis and we got no yoghurt raita.

Delicious, hot food delivered every time, within a good time scale! (usually arrives early). Also order for collection. The guys there hold the door open for me every time! Unlike other Indians, this place doesn't use just one base sauce for its curries. Every one has a individual flavour and decent amount of meat in! Won't order from anywhere else! They have received another 5* hygiene rating too which is very hard to come by these days :)

The food arrived on time but it was a long wait. I do understand if they were busy (peak time) but it was an hour wait. That said, the food was delicious, hot and I would definitely order from here again only half an hour early.

Delicious, hot and came quickly

My Korma was not good quality. I wanted a mild curry last night. It just tasted like coconut watery mush with nice bits of meat in it. Not creamy and mild.

Still delicious and did not arrive cold. They’re so accommodating to tweaks and requests. Always pay attention to notes in order unlike A LOT of places.

wrong curry rice so cold curry cold onion bhajis cold chips cold dry seem old chips threw it all in the bin waste of money

Edit: As of 2019, it's still a 3. Haven't eaten there since as a result. It's a basic requirement to have decent food safety, even before the quality of the cooking. Great food, easily my favorite indian. Excellent selection of dishes with different tasting varieties. Served hot, and with good attention to their hygiene rating which is currently a 5!

Delicious & tasty, and also very obviously freshly prepared as it was delivered piping hot. I will certainly be ordering from you again.

I honestly don't know how this place is one of the top rated on here... yes came on time, yes everything ordered arrived even threw in some free bombay potato but everything else was sub par food wise, ordered £45 worth of food and the only thing that was actually ok was the plain poppadom... everything else was well below expectation. not recommended to say the least....

Only problem I ordered curry sauce and got korma sent instead :-( otherwise great food as always

First curry back in Portsmouth since I moved back, very disappointing, the most flavour in the entire order was the ming yogurt. Everything else completely void of any flavour, apart from my main that was so overly sweet I could barely eat it. Can’t believe how many good reviews this place has. Never ordering here again.

Not kidding but that was probably the best curry I’ve ever had. Everything was spot on and I’ve had a lot of curry in my time!! Keep up the great food. 👍

Ordered some food an hour before the takeaway opened to be delivered at 17:50. The food arrived bang on time, hot and delicious. Everyone was pleased with their meal. Highly recommended and will order from them again.

My curry was warm when I got it not hot like it usually is. Disappointed.

Anwar’s is a great takeaway experience- high quality and affordable and their prices are consistent- they don’t try to rip you off like ‘Jimmys’ Raj Dulal down the road do. I recommend.

Didn’t even bring it to the door poppadom soft taste stale curry not what ordered onion bhajies basically raw absolutely rank. Not worth bothering phoned to say but less than helpful. Absolute waste of money. Do not use

Nice food, cooked well. My only gripe would be heat levels being a bit low. So order hotter than you usually would. Would've been 5 stars, but needed seasoning..

First time complaint. Been using Anwars for a number of years without any issues until now. Main food was good but all four poppadums were not cooked and inedible. Will not stop me ordering from Anwars in the future, but disappointed tonight.

Thought we would rest ourselves tonight and looked at the reviews which looked great. Sadly the food was delivered cold and the curry had no spice and was flavourless - so disappointed :(

The curry was lovely and so was the rice and naan and potatoes, but the chips are getting really bad, for £2.50 the ones that are being used are not worth it, they don’t look appetising and they are more like crispy pieces rather then actual chips. Everything else perfect but please sort the chips out

Very poor food and very disappointed. Food had a funny off smell like it had been re heated , nothing tasted fresh . The chicken was tough and the sauces in the curries lacked any authentic flavour just a lot of onion !! No mint sauce despite an expensive order . Also curries drowning in oil ! The only positive was delivery was quick. Spent just shy of £50 and will not be ordering again. My advise to anyone is look elsewhere.

I think the delivery was early but I wasn’t watching the clock. Food was brilliant.

I have been searching for 15 years to find an Indian this good, the spices were soo well balanced, and the freebies were more than just an after thought they were delicious too i will definitely be coming back

Onion bhajis was hard and dry as if they were cooked yesterday. Meat curry only had a few small chunks of meat and tasted bland. And both Naan breads tasted sweet and weren't nice at all. Very disappointing as we've ordered from here lots in the past with no issues.

The food tasted disgusting. & They gave old food because it smelled and tasted like it was lots of days old food which they delivered. I never expected. I ordered the food after seeing the review but my experience after tasting the food was disgusting. If I could I would definitely take the refund but alas glad I knew it now and will never order the food from this place .. never and ever.

Always love the food but this time a little disappointed the food wasn't as hot in temperature as normal and poppadoms were not as crispy a little stail but normally I would highly recommend

Im actually shocked at how bad the food is, ordered buttered chicken got a made up version, meat smelt like feet, breed under cooked , only thing nice mint sauce ...straight in bin

Absolutely outstanding! Quickly delivered, lovely polite delivery driver. Food was piping hot, generous portions & absolutely delicious! By far the best Indian in Portsmouth- and the value for money is incredible. This will deffo be our go to Indian from now on, can’t recommend enough!

1st time ordering from Anwars and been meaning to for a while but what a shame, dont like to leave bad reviews but.. Chicken Phall was a mediocre Vindaloo at best, the fact they want £3 extra on top of an already pricy Phall to make it an extra hot Phall baffles me, a Phall should be a Phall, the hottest on the menu! the meat and dish was very tasty but it lacked the main ingredients, heat! And with The King Prawn Biryani, the prawns were unfortunately very well over cooked, again a tasty dish but having to push most of the prawns to one side doesn't leave a good impression, Sorry Anwars I wish it was different but I feel this is a fair review on our experience.

Anwar's are the BEST Indian around. I wouldn't use anywhere else.

Best Indian food in Portsmouth! Never had a bad meal from this restaurant and you really need to try the Hariali Muragh! Absolutely outstanding meal.

Food is on top form 10/10 , perfection in my opinion. The chefs are obviously very skilled and they take pride and care in what they do. poppadoms perfect . Coconut rice was beautiful as was the madras, Naan bread amazing, aloo potatoes again tasty perfection. This is the only restaurant myself and my wife order from. Delivery and service is excellent. No complaints.
