Very flexible prices at Molly's Tearoom and antiques. Today 16/9/23 I went in for a mannequin that I had seen priced at £250 a couple of week ago. No price tag today, so I asked how much, the guy said £495. Now, was that optimistic price because I had a southern accent, I reckon that he assumed I was on holiday. I actually live in Teesdale not that far away. Definitely think he was taking the micky.

Me and my sister and our friend have been to this café a few times for a snack and are always very happy with the food and the service as all the staff are very friendly and helpful. You can eat inside or out side in the seating area which is very pleasant. The café is also sells antiques so is a very interesting place to visit even if you don't want to eat there. This café is our best café in the area so well worth a visit if you have nere been before, you will not be disappointed.

We were looking for a handy place to stop for lunch on the A68 and found this gem of a cafe / antique shop on the village green in West Auckland. There was a wide choice of food and drinks at very reasonable prices plus a warm and friendly welcome for us and our Golden Retriever. The service was excellent and our dog had her water served in a bowl on a silver tray and a serviette!

You must try this antique shop/tea room (closed Sunday and monday) Quite a few nik naks, militaria and furniture bits and bobs It’s in a pleasant location overlooking the village green. Staff were lovely and helpful Had to try the tea shop and couldn’t fault the very tasty toastie which was served with a very nice fresh salad, coleslaw and crisps. Coffee was great. Take out lemon drizzle cake was gorgeous. Can thoroughly recommend

An absolute 'must visit' place for all locals and visitors to West Auckland / Bishop Auckland and all the surrounding areas... A small hardly noticeable frontage ( I would change this ) but once inside its an Aladdin's Cave, of a café, Coffee shop, Tea room, and an Antiques shop, call it what you will, but the food, snacks, cakes and Coffee are to die for and this is a favourite local place of mine. Far better than all the well known chain Cafe's put together. The Italian Coffee is just the best around. All made even better by the excellent friendly staff and value for money. Highly Recommended!!

Tried to call here on Tuesday but it was closed! Contacted the owner who told me they close on Monday and Tuesday in the winter. They have gluten free sandwiches, paninis etc so we decided to try again today. And are we glad we did???? Wonderful place - large americano was perfect for my quick-drinking husband and my latte came in a glass which is exactly how I like it.The owner even went out to get some semi-skimmed milk for me. The gf panini was delicious - cheese and sweet chilli! And the coffee was on the house for our disappointment on Tuesday! We will certainly be back - in fact my husband is meeting his friend there tomorrow.

A sweet little place from the outside. A tea room in the front, but more rooms and floors of items on display. The young girls managing the tea room were very sweet, and the coffee was huge, not bad, the cake pieces were huge, and also not bad - tasted like Betty Crocker. The rooms are somewhat jaded and very much unsorted. There is a mixture of some one off wonderful true antiques, and a fair bit of tat too. There are some things with prices, many without. We enquired about two pieces we wanted to buy. Unfortunately whoever is in charge of that wasn’t in. They were sent a picture and a price query but the message came back to us we couldn’t have them! The poor girl was very pleasant but had to pass on the news that we couldn’t buy the items that were for sale in the shop as one item was someone else’s stock, unpriced and not for sale. The other item hasn’t been researched so no we couldn’t buy that either. We abandoned after coffee and cake. Mobility needs: the cafe is small but ok for people with mobility needs, the rest is very difficult as the shop extends over more rooms and floors.

Popped in for lunch on a warm day, I had the Ploughman’s, my better half had the The Hot One Panini. One word, Outstanding. Not everyone want a meal with chips on the side, certainly not me x Beautifully presented, wonderfully fresh. Sat in the garden out the back, quite and peaceful. Just us and the birds. Lovely Staff, polite and friendly attentive but no overly so. Cakes looked amazing. (Dieting so showed restraint this time) If you are that way or even 10 min away give it a try, it won’t disappoint.

We called in here for lunch while we were staying at the Manor House hotel. This is an antiques shop with a cafe section. We were given a very nice welcome on arrival. The menu consists of sandwiches, salads, Panini's and baked potatoes. We opted for a ploughman's lunch. I asked for one without meat which was not a problem. The salads were large and consisted of lettuce, cucumber, peppers, Tom's, beetroot, pickled onion, cheddar, Danish blue and what we think was cheese with beetroot which was delicious. Very filling meal and only a fiver. Would pop back I. If we were in the areA.

We called in on spec as we were staying at a local hotel and were pleasantly surprised to find such a little gem of a store/cafe. I can't comment on the cafe however the store was a treasure trove of antiques and collectibles. The staff member we encountered was really friendly and helpful. If you're in the area then we'll worth a visit.

The old style music on the record player just added the finishing touch. Love this place!

Promised my wife lunch out, but our favourite places are closed on Mondays. I found this on Trip Advisor. It is unusual, but quirky, & we like quirky. We had a quick look around the antiques side, but were time limited. But lunch was good. Ham & Pease pudding Toastie, & a Ham, Tomato & Onion Panini, both with salad. Prices were reasonable. Half shot Latte, was not as weak as my wife likes, but she does like it really weak. Cappucinno was OK, but was in a small cup. We will return.

If you are travelling to Scotland on the A68 through West Auckland do yourself a favour and stop at Molly's Tea Room which is situated on the village green. A very warm welcome awaits and whatever you purchase you can be sure that it is fresh, Just had BLT and tea for 2. Fresh and tasty and the tea was to die for served in china cups. So much better than the chunky mugs you get elsewhere.

This interesting Antique shop also has a super cafe called Molly’s Cafe. The coffee is very good. The freshly baked scone with jam and cream was wonderfully presented...almost too good to eat! The main courses looked very appetising but we just had a late morning snack. The staff for both the antiques and the cafe were very helpful and friendly. We will revisit next time we are in the area. Found out about this small town’s claim to fame, in 1909 the local football team won the World Cup! Not only that they did it again in 1911. There is a wonderful statue near this shop commemorating this double event!

In the front of the Antique Shop you will find Molly's Tea Room. What a great place to stop at. Cyclists you will love it. Plenty of safe space for bikes. The tea room is light, airy, clean and pretty. Menu is very good. Quality of teas/coffee available is excellent (personally, I am a green tea drinker). The staff are so attentive and caring and make you feel very welcome. Lots of antiques to browse around throughout the building if you have the time.
