Charming appearance both outside & in, with interesting paintings & several large, ornate, bronzed mirrors. Cosy with relaxing music that played at the right level to create ambiance, but which also allowed easy conversation. We ordered the 3 meatball starter which came quickly & was well seasoned. I decided to wait on the mains which were 2 lamb roasts & 1 pork roast. Good thing my husband had ordered a starter because it took 45 mins for our mains to arrive. There was no explanation or apology for this delay. The meals were well prepared & enjoyable. The meats weren't very seasoned, but this is typical of Sunday roasts. The brown gravy & sauces are what add the flavour. I like the veg as it wasn't as overcooked as usual but had retained its colour with a bit of crunch. We all liked the sml pot of cauliflower cheese. The banoffee pie had a good mix of flavours & textures. The staff were polite & willing when we spoke & at the end when one of them asked about our experience, I told him briefly, what I've said here. I'd return, but I do hope they improve on the service side, keeping customers informed if there's a delay.

It’s a good place with a great atmosphere and polite and attentive staff. Breakfast-wise, the eggs Benedict were a bit far from the best ones I’ve tried: the muffin had less subtle taste than I would love, the egg white was not cooked in some parts of the eggs, and the Hollandaise sauce had a bit of a mushroom taste. The cappuccino was rather hot and also came with cinnamon. Overall the place is nice to come to, but when I’m looking for great breakfast options I’d select another one next time

Just had the worst Sunday Lunch in years. It's bad enough the food was barely warm, the vegetables were under cooked, yorkshire puds still full of oil, my partner didn't eat her meal due to the oil in the nutroast. It was really poor. However do your customers a favor please, sort out the sticky wooden floor . Polishing it would help maybe, that includes the stairs. Lastly a welcoming smile from your front of house manager would be nice? Very poor all round.

What on earth has happened to Annie's? Had a really disappointing Lunch experience last Saturday. The table I had requested in advance had been given away to someone else, even thought the restaurant was pretty empty. It was obvious my request wasn't noticed until I arrived, and the lame excuse of the place being 'busy' and there was nowhere else to put them, was just that .. a lame excuse and an insult to my intelligence. The prawn cocktail starters were truly awful, and clearly had been pre-made up in advance, and kept in the fridge. It was tasteless and bland, and there were brown bits on my lettuce. When I was asked on leaving how the food was, I informed the waitress that the prawn cocktail had come straight from the fridge and was made up well in advance, (maybe even the day before). It was obvious because of the state of the lettuce, and how cold it was! There are plastic flowers on the tables, and If anyone remembers how Annie's used to be, don't bother going because you'll be very disappointed. I thought the place must have changed hands, because the original owner Lorraine had great standards and they always had professional staff, and a proper chef. You can tell everything is heated up, and not cooked from scratch. After not fulfilling my table request and serving below par food, you'd imagine the waitress would think to offer us our 2 glasses of wine on the house, but of course they wouldn't think to do this. Annie's needs a good shake up, a re-think on the menu and quality of food and a professional chef and waiting staff. Definitely won't bother with this place again, it's just not worth the disappointment. FURTHER UPDATE: in response to your comments: Firstly, your unprofessional response says it all. I am in no way trying to damage your reputation. Secondly I am not angry. I was disappointed at the poor quality of food, and the fact that my table request was ignored when the restaurant was empty! Of course prawns are kept in the fridge !, but the lettuce was old/limp and had brown marks on it had clearly been made up in advance. My comments are purely based on facts which is my past experiences vs my experience on last Saturday. It's good to know how you handle feedback and your very rude response to my experience and factual comments is very telling. If I feel your establishment is not to the same standards as in the past, then you should take the comments in a professional manner, rather than responding in this immature way. You have my assurance that I will never be coming back.

Although there appeared to be plenty of staff around, only 1 person served the whole restaurant.

What on earth has happened to to this place? Clearly Annie's has been taken over as this is not the Annies that I knew and loved. Where to start ... firstly, I requested a particular table when I made my booking several weeks in advance. This was important for me, and I was very disappointed to see, when my husband and I arrived, that the table I had requested had been given away to someone else, yet the restaurant was practically empty. We were given a lame excuse that they were SO busy and had no where else to put them.... queue me looking around at a near empty restaurant .... It was obvious that my request hadn't been noticed, and was only apparent when I mentioned it when we arrived. We reluctantly we took another table, and tried to make the most of the situation. We then looked through the uninspiring menu and ordered 2 prawn cocktails for our starters. Wow these have to be the worst prawn cocktails I have ever tasted in my whole life! They were stone cold and clearly had just come out of the fridge. Some of my lettuce had brown marks, which backs up my theory that these came out the fridge and had been assembled some time in advance, (maybe even a few days in advance). They were bland, tasteless and such a disappointment. Our mains were not much better. I went for the vegan burger and again the chips were obviously not homemade, but must have been bought in frozen and heated up. I don't know what has happened to the food, but they can't have a proper chef because the food doesn't taste home-made, and comes out of the kitchen very quickly. Everything about Annies just feels amateurish and cheap. There are plastic flowers everywhere, and cheap plastic furniture outside. I can't believe this place has not changed hands, because the standards have dropped dramatically. Previously there was always a proper maitre'de and staff felt professional. My conclusion is, if you remember what Annie's used to be like, avoid this place at all cost, because it is not worth the disappointment. I don't have one positive thing to say about this place.

An exquisite meal and experience. Annie's Chiswick delivers every time, and caters to all preferences. I had the vegan burger which was filling, tasty and a decent portion with delectable chips! My wife has the salmon as a main which she says was cooked to perfection. Despite being a busy Saturday night with all the tables being full, we received VIP treatment. The general manager Norbert, was charming and accommodating. We would definitely recommend the banoffee pie - it's their signature dessert and the portion is very generous. The cocktails look fantastic too! The staff including Rose and Reagan were absolute gems too. Annie's is undoubtedly one of our favourite restaurants. With stunning decor, it's easy to think this resto could be style over substance, but I assure you the quality of the food is on par with the amazing ambiance. Annie's is also renowned for their epic weekend brunches. I wholeheartedly recommend Annie's. It's a popular place so suggest booking in advance.

Haven’t been to Annie’s for some time. It used to do a good breakfast at the weekend. Went for breakfast today (Sunday morning 10:15), only 2 other occupied tables when we sat down. I was served a full English that arrived cold and was missing the sausage. When I pointed it out it arrived within a couple of minutes and was the only hot thing on the plate. The eggs and the bacon had clearly been cooked some time ago or rewarmed. They had no mustard of any description. The thing that really irritated me was when I pointed this out after I had paid the bill (including the automatic service charge) the waitress tried to convince me everything was cooked fresh until I showed her the photograph. I wouldn’t go there again.

The waitress kept coming outside to our table asking if we wanted anything more ( about 5 times). My friend ordered a coffee and I had a large hot chocolate. Its was Saturday morning at about 10.30am. It was as if they did not want a person of colour seating outside of the shop and wanted to create a scene so we would eventually leave. Discrimination isn't attractive and I will never go to this place again.

I have been visiting Anne's in Chiswick for DECADES. It has been one of my favourite local restaurants for as long as I can remember. Have introduced so many friends to what I called my hidden gem where I have celebrated many birthdays. As my birthday is close to Christmas I am conscious of the fact that restaurants book up quickly with festive crowds so always get my booking in early. I called Annie’s to book my table (I know, old school) but wanted to speak to a person and request a table upstairs, which is my favourite place to dine, I find it more intimate and cosy. I was with my husband and two sons, it was my birthday and I wanted it to be special. I received a call from Annie's two days prior from a gentleman (wish I'd asked his name!) asking me to confirm my attendance, to which I reiterated my request to sit upstairs and he confirmed that this was definitely on my booking. You will understand my frustration and annoyance that on arrival I was told that upstairs was full and I would need to sit downstairs, and not just any table downstairs but one wedged against a pillar in line with the draft from the door. I was so angry, I went over the road to The Bulls Head opposite to see if they had any tables, (great pub, eaten there loads of times) unfortunately, they were full so I returned to Annie’s and decided to make the most of my birthday evening with my family. The menu seemed very limited and not the usual home cooked, comforting parlour meals I associate with Annie’s, maybe because it was Christmas? Bearing in mind I am seated with three men, my husband and two sons, we ordered two courses each and on each occasion my starter and main course were both served last, my main be very late, when eventually arrived was overcooked, dry and not very enjoyable at all, although Annie’s probably think I finished it as my son ending up picking at my plate after he finished his steak and ate most of it. By this time I just could not wait to leave and declined dessert, I mean the thought of being served a dessert with a candle or happy birthday greeting in it filled me with dread. Such a shame, will NEVER go back to Annie’s, end of an era for me and resulted in being my worst birthday memory. DISAPPOINTED DOES NOT SUM IT UP!!

This restaurant did not live up to our expectations, it used to be a little gem of a place with excellent food and service. We were a party of 6 people and were requested by the manager to pre order our food 24 hrs in advance from the very limited Christmas menu ( a choice of 4 starters, 4 mains and 4 desserts) When we arrived we were told that they didn't have the seabass which 3 people had chosen, they were very sorry and did give us a drink on the house. The Christmas menu was extremely ordinary and unimaginative and had we seen it before booking I don't think we would have chosen to eat at Annie's. We all agreed our food was average at best. I ordered the beef Bourguignon which came with cheddar mash and green beans. When it arrived there were no green beans and the mash was bland with no cheese, the meat was served in a big chunk and it was dry and stringy. The gravy though was delicious with a few little onions. I had Xmas pudding for dessert and the portion was tiny. We did make the most of our special Christmas get together but won't be returning which is such a shame.

Loved it! The food was really hearty and warm. Loved every part of it. We ordered the mango chicken salad and hummus with grilled pita for starters which took around 10 mins to be served. The mango chicken salad is a must try! I’ll certainly go back for this. For mains, we had the shepherd’s pie and the grilled sea bass with lime rice and both were super good, it took around 25-30 mins for the main course to be served and it was totally worth the wait. For dessert, we had the sticky toffee pudding, it was delicious but not necessarily something I’ll personally re-order. The service and staff made the experience really special as they’ve been very welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere is Victorian English which we loved! The BLT had some lousy-tasting sauce instead of the mentioned mayo, and the rosemary potatoes were floppy and bland. The Bellini was in a ridiculously small glass, which wasn't a big deal only because it tasted poorly. They have a dish with eggs that literally only has 2 eggs (and half a slice of bread) and you need to pay extra to have anything with it. At this point in time, the online menu is inaccurate for both the offer and the prices. The place was very nice, but the food/drinks were on par with a downscale pub: you could definitely eat it but won't enjoy it much. The waiters were very thoughtful, except for the owner/manager (it's beyond me why he would put less effort when he is the one with the most to lose/gain). Won't give it a second chance, not worth the money.

We decided to book a table and dine at Annie's as we were staying close by. When we arrived at 7pm, it was already quite full, which was great to see. The welcome we got was friendly, and we were shown to a nice table in the pretty ground level part of the restaurant. The menu was not that different from that of the nearby pub but seemed ok with several options for our tastes. The food we ordered was fine, but we felt perhaps a little pricey compared to very similar meals we have had in the area. Service after our friendly greeting was not so good with long waits between follow ups. That, along with a not terribly different menu from other restaurants in the area, meant we decided not to return while staying nearby. Locals, however, seem to enjoy dining here, so I guess it's catering to them.

The starters were OK. However all the main courses were inedible over cooked Chicken milanese difficult to cut and lacking in flavour, Glutinous Risotto barely warm and I could ho on. The waiter tried his best and was friendly although there was a long delay between course's .

Annie’s is a fabulous independent restaurant with amazing food, dangerously delicious cocktails and normally wonderful service. Yesterday was possibly one of the most horrible experiences I have had in a restaurant. I questioned an action of a member of staff, leaving me in the glaring sun. Instead of asking us if we would like to move, we were ignored, refused coffee and over charged - was such spiteful behaviour so necessary?

5 stars only! A beautiful afternoon in the sun and there’s nowhere I would rather be than Annie’s! As always, the food, drink and service was outstanding. We were sat outside at the front of Annie’s, the sun shade was open and we finally got to enjoy one of the very few sunny days we get in England! Annie’s is situated perfectly to go for a short walk along the river after lunch so that you can work off the delicious food (and wine!). What was only meant to be a short lunch turned into a thoroughly sociable and enjoyable afternoon. Thank you to Annie’s for a lovely day in the sun. Whether rain or shine, you always deliver and I will certainly be back as soon as I can!

We had a lovely evening at Annie's. We didn't book and it's only small, so whilst not essential as we managed to get a table, would advise booking. The food was really lovely, the vibe inside was really nice, quirky and cosy, just like Little Bird and Rock & Rose Richmond. Cannot fault the service, the lady serving us was so lovely and attentive. Will definitely be going here again.

Adore Annies. I’ve been going for over 10 years and the menu is still my favourite. The halloumi fig salad is wonderful and the cocktails always delicious and so creative.

Came here for dinner Feb 2023. Food was great, particularly enjoyed lamb main although all dishes were strong. Cocktails also good, particularly the salted caramel dessert cocktail which was amazing . Service was friendly and vibe/decor is nice and cosy. Reasonably priced for area and overall worth a visit.

Annie's with its quirky interior provides good quality food at a reasonable price point. Staff friendly and attentive. Only negative is the menu doesn't quite match what is published online so don't set your heart on something before going. Potential for more vegetarian choices, but overall good.

Annie’s is a neighbourhood spot in West London. We came here for dinner with a few friends. The inside is really comfortable and cosy. The food was good as well. Creamy risotto, meaty pork and well cooked fish. We also had the sticky toffee and chocolate desserts - both rich and delicious. Staff were friendly but the wait for food was really long.

Came her for early dinner on a Sunday and were treated very rudely. Were greeted incredulously by a lady who assumed we should know she was closing soon even though there were other diners eating there.

Had a superdinner here in October 2022. Chose the mushroom risotto and can still feel its taste, well prepared, boldly seasoned and served with an excellent wine. The personnel was ever so friendly and even gave advice on how “grandmother” made Limoncello in the old days. I highly recommend a table booking as the restaurant itself is very small. Location a bit tricky as it is in the middle of living area. I hope the locals use Annie’s restaurant!

Rare finding such a great breakfast place. I had the world cup breakfast, and this was perfectly cooked and very filling. Amazing variety and you can also customise your breakfast. Amazing freshly squeezed orange juice.

A thank you to Jo and all the staff for their assistance with our school reunion. The Weir Bar is such a great venue with lots of space and seating areas both inside and out. Very friendly staff couldn’t do enough even though it was very busy. Will definitely be returning to try out the lunch menu and would make a great spot on a nice day to sit outside or out but undercover.

Returned on Nov2024 New items added to the menu and Christmas menu is available. Hot & spicy grilled peri-peri chicken was very well marinated and served in good portion. Service has improved and staff are attentive. Worth checking out their special Lunch deals between 2-5pm Mon-Fri. Previous review Been here many times over the years and happy to return again this evening, unfortunately we were served by a sad and pathetic girl behind the counter. Definitely felt unwelcome for spending money here!
