Annapurna in Hounslow

Small but excellent restaurant. Tried most things on the menu from mild to very spicy and all good. Raj, our host, knows his onions and good personality. Well worth a visit for those who like curries.

The staff were friendly and gave good service throughout. They open till later unlike the place up the road who wants to go home at 10. The food was all fresh and well cooked. The menu is varied with a good selection. Everything was good but not amazing. 7 or 8 out of 10 for me but would use again.

Decent Indian food, had the meat thali and chicken tikka masala (pictured), lovely waiters, was a bit quiet. Decent pickle tray with the poppadoms.

A recent visit with a large party resulted in food not being received for nearly 2 hours with no real communication, update or apology. A gesture of poppadoms would have been nice considering how long we had to wait. They were inundated with take away orders which were being fulfilled quickly, maybe they should have switched off the online order for a bit to take of the customers in the restaurant.

Annapurna tell you on their website to call them directly for delivery so I did so and gave an order only to be told at the end that it couldn't be delivered and I had to start again through Deliveroo. I ordered through Deliveroo and the driver arrived with a totally different customer and restaurants order which I of course didn't accept and then entered that it had been delivered into the system. My takeaway vanished into the night and a whole 2 hours of stressful phone calls and emails later I got a refund but no thanks to the restaurant. There's got to be a better way to spend a Friday evening and I'll be avoiding both restaurant and Deliveroo in future.

I am absolutely not recommending this restaurant. Food is just average. You can eat better food everywhere else. Even though we ate there several times and the service seemed friendly, they tried to cheat us of a large amount. The bill was inflated in quite a clever way. I am very disappointed. Very dishonest staff. Be careful paying your bill here!!!

Immersed in the restaurant’s vibe instantly. Very comfortable and welcoming. The food matched the vibe and service. Great service and lovely hearing that the business has been around for 54years with such an interesting history. Can’t wait to come again

What can we say, we returned to this fabulous restaurant, which we had been frequenting for over 20 years, same staff smiley faces and they all remembered us after 7 years apart! omg beautiful food, amazing service and Omar remembered everything! Best Indian food in the town. I ordered Dal Tadka and Matar Paneer. The taste was amazing - perfect blend of spices and the hospitality was cherry on the cake. Chapatis were so soft. Thanks to all the staff for serving us with great food and ambience. The place has a vibe for sure.

Amazing lamb biryani. Huge portion, lots of meat compared to other well known Indian cuisines and great flavour. Will definitely be coming again to try out the chicken biryani!

This was a great find. We had not dined here before, but received the warmest of welcomes. The restaurant is spotless and the staff are very friendly. Being vegetarian, the staff made me a dish, that was not on the menu, saag and mushroom vindaloo. It was amazing ! The food is very tasty and plentiful. We look forward to dining here again. I highly recommend this restaurant and it's staff.

Been there now 2 times, Tuesday was amazing good, today totally different. The starter was burned, taste only bad. No sorry when returning it and no new try. Then the main dish completely salty, the waiter was a bit helpless when I ordered the bill and he called the Chef. He didn’t show up and I had to pay the whole invoice. I cannot give more than 1 star although it was very good Tuesday. Today counts.

I have to say after reading other reviews I’m mystified why our meal was so bad !! Far too much salt and poor quality ingredients and tasteless ( apart from salt!!) Service average . Will not be returning

We had a lovely meal at Annapurna. The service was extremely gracious, the food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. The house wine was quite nice as well. We highly recommend it.

This is an amazing restaurant here in London, Chizwick area. Indian food that you don't find in San Francisco...a different style that you're guaranteed to enjoy. If you like (or are interested in) the various regions of India and their unique cuisines, this will be a treat for you. I'm a vegetarian and it's perfect. Great service, very friendly and warm. They truly care about their customers and it's shows. Add this to your list of restaurants to eat at. Turnham Green station on the District Line will wisk you to Chizwick and it's a nice area to walk around as well. Enjoy the restaurant as much as we have!

The food and service was fantastic. I'm from San Francisco where we have a good variety of Indian food, but this food from West Bengal was especially delicious and different. The service was amazing also, and the atmosphere was wonderful and relaxed. We came back here twice in a week for dinner!

This is an absolutely useless place who are just encashing the names and emotions of Indian food. They don’t have the slightest understanding about what food is and are one of the most non feedback accepting bunch of people. Eating from the place is an absolute waste of time and money both. They have their own defined taste buds as per them chana masala is something which is sweet, matar paneer is something which has coconut powder in it and daal tarka means daal with pieces of ginger and onions in it. You should stop looting people like this with your own defined taste buds. Please take an advice that you actually don’t know what Indian food is about. Stop selling if you can’t care for your customers . Basic thing as naan was also not cooked properly

Has to be the best Indian restaurant in Chiswick always great food and good atmosphere when you visit. The staff are very friendly and so attentive they there to help and please. Food is great think have tried half of the menu and to date not had anything that didn’t hit the spot. If you in the area and like a good bit of spice you need to visit and give it a try.

One of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever been too - and I’ve been to quite a few. Almost rivals India itself (I’ve been fortunate to visit Mumbai and Chennai)! Highly recommend!

We went to this Annapurna restaurant at Chiswick for dine-in around 21:40, the whole restaurant was empty and the waiter at the door showed us a 4-seater table for two, after we sat down, another waiter walks in to serve our table (he said he was the manager of the restaurant) and gave us menu cards while taking the menu cards from the waiter, my friend said he is not hungry right now, he would like to order just drinks at first and asked the waiter for the drinks menu, I was starving so I took the food menu card, and then the waiter who pretended to be and said he was the manager of the restaurant, said to us If only one person eating and another person just having drinks then we have to move to a two-seater table, if the restaurant was busy we could have an understanding situation but the whole restaurant has been empty and there were no any reserved tables too, approximately out of 15 tables only three tables were taken and we were the fourth, then the waiter took back menu card from my friend and insisted us to move to a two-seater table, then I politely said all the tables are empty it is not good customer service after sitting down and asking us to move to another table, the waiter took back our menu cards and was not willing to listen, standing next to our table and forcing us to move to a two-seater table, it was so unprofessional, I requested to see the owner of the restaurant to explain the situation, waiter rudely replied he is not in today you can come tomorrow and speak to him, so he indirectly said to walk out if we don't wanna move to a two-seater table, so we left the restaurant, we were very disappointed and felt insulted by the customer service provided by Annapurna restaurant manager, however, if my friend is ordering only drinks he is still a customer of the restaurant, It was very disappointing and an insult to us, the manager should be in a place where he can resolve the customer's issue and not treating or judge a customer by their spend limits in a restaurant, based on the outcome from the restaurant owner I am sueing this restaurant for insulting us.

Annapurna consistently serves good food: good quality meat, (non oily) naans; fresh-tasting veg dishes & I love their mushroom fried rice. Their drinks are sensibly priced & the staff friendly. I have been to Annapurna many (10-20) times & can reccomend it for a good quality Indian meal at a reasonable price.

Please don't bother, everything was tastless, greasy and stale. Naan was thinking and had little filling, lamb curry was super tough and lacked flavour. Poppadoms had strange burnt/fatty taste

Such a shame that this restating have been patronising for 30 years has hit new depths. Filled with a rowdy post football match crowd who didn’t care too much about slow service and awful food. the staff here always recognised and looked after me but tonight they could care less. The Pappadoms taste of nothing. Prawn Puri was passable but the Chicken Jalfrezi was t a jalfrezi but was swimming in ghee and warm not hot to boot. The pulao rice was only steamed and not pulao. What a shame. Last time for this old Chiswick favourite.

En toute honnêteté, nous cherchions à manger dans un autre restaurant qui affichait complet aussi, nous avons laissé nos pas nous guider et nous avons atterri ici. L'accueil est un peu mitigé, un rien distant mais ça sent très bon. Nous sommes installés dans le fond du restaurant qui se remplit très rapidement. Peu de touristes dans ce lieu, c'est assez rassurant. La carte est variée et riche. Nous commandons nos plats, entrées et nos boissons et on nous offre de délicieux pains croustillants et des condiments pour patienter. Nous n'attendons pas longtemps pour recevoir les entrées. C'est vraiment bon, épicé sans être trop piquant ou puissant, parfumé sans que les saveurs soient altérées. Les plats arrivent ensuite et nous sommes surpris par les quantités. La cuisine est généreuse ici ! Je vous conseille vivement l'agneau Korma, le chou-fleur et le riz frit qui est vraiment délicieux (les accompagnements sont à commander en plus du plat qui vient non accompagné). Seul bémol, le pain naan pas assez cuit... dommage. Nous passons un agréable moment, les serveurs sont discrets et attentifs. L'endroit est épuré et sobre, les mets très bons et copieux (nous n'avons pas pu terminé ce que nous avions commandé). Une agréable soirée à Londres.

We had a really lovely meal at Annapurna tonight. Attentive and friendly staff with a lovely atmosphere. My partner’s Chicken Tikka Starter was so succulent and tender and both of our curries had exceptional depth and flavour. My Chicken Tikka Masala was the best that I have ever tasted and I have been to many Indian restaurants up and down the country! Really wonderful…will definitely be back.

We found the staff, service and food excellent. All the meat was fresh and tasty, the curries all fresh and authentic too. Naan and rice tasted good. The beer was cold and nice. Faultless for us all and the manager was helpful and did me a dish not on the menu. Excellent

We have eaten at the Annapurna many times since the late '70's and have enjoyed almost every meal. There have been occasions when we were disappointed but not often which is pretty amazing for over forty years. The Annapurna is a really good restaurant with helpful and friendly staff. Last night we had a light meal of prawn puri and onion bhaji starters followed by chicken tikka main course with rice, salad and sag aloo. it was all fresh and delicious.

I found two small, what I assume to be a ribs, inside my vegetable curry, which I also assumed would be suitable for vegetarians. Won't be eating here again.

Amazing food and a great restaurant

Booked as we were in the area for the evening and previous reviews were good. We were not disappointed and in fact it was one of the best Indian meals we have had for quite a while. With a friendly welcome on arrival and with good advice on local specialties on an extensive menu , the meal was excellent with good service throughout and reasonably priced. Wish that you were closer to home as we would visit regularly.

As usual from Just Eat, there was a dish missing - Saag Aloo, £4.50 - and it was all late. Just Eat said they'd refund the money, but it's was a pretty easy order to get right, and they get it wrong very often. Even now the delivery time is saying it was delivered at 19.20, when it was actually delivered at 19.40. Did somebody say Just Awful?

The worst Indian meal I have ever had. So bland it was like Indian food for toddlers. If it wasn't for the fact that I had also ordered pishwari nan it would have been chicken in a tasteless transulscent orange sauce. The charge for the poppadom was insulting. It was tiny! The smallest starter portions I've ever had. And the yogurt, not sure if was even yogurt to be honest. AVOID AT ALL COSTS BECAUSE IT WASNT CHEAP.

Y decidimos volver a visitar nuestro restaurante indio favorito en persona en lugar de aceptar un pedido de entrega.Fue tan bueno estar de regreso en el restaurante y ver a los hermanos nuevamente, brindando su propio servicio amable y profesional.Al entrar había un grupo de personas esperando su comida para llevar y nos llevaron a nuestra mesa, gel anti-back y toallas de papel sobre una mesa junto a la puerta principal y el personal llevaba máscaras. Cuando el grupo recibió su pedido y dejó las sillas, la mesa y el piso alrededor de donde estaban sentados fueron rociados y limpiados.Fue bueno ver que el restaurante cumplía con todas las pautas, normalmente hubiéramos estrechado la mano de los chicos; hemos cenado aquí durante años, pero de acuerdo con las pautas de seguridad no lo hicimos y ¡estuvo bien!Como de costumbre, la comida era deliciosa y la cerveza con lima se servía a la temperatura adecuada. About the service - The delivery driver was very rude and grumpy but the food was delivered within 30 minutes. About the food - The food was really one of the worsts Indian take-away that I have ever had. I ordered vegetable samosas which were actually very tasty, the one and only good thing in this order. My order total was £30 and I wish I had just ordered £30 worth of samosas, I would have been happier. The chicken korma had a very strange colour and even stranger consistency, it tasted like a can of coconut milk with added spices to change the colour to a pale yellow-green and then had some chicken pieces added to it. The lamb tikka biryani was not good at all and was very small for it's price of £12.95. Worst of all I think were the poppadoms, they were burnt and the oil used to cook them must have been extremely old as they just tasted bitter and oily. Very disappointing with this order, will NOT be ordering from here again.

Have been going to this restaurant for years but this was first order for delivery. Ordering was easy, delivery was on time (even a bit early) and food was warm and fresh.

Where to begin... Food was overall quite bland all round, samosas where quite oily and lacking much flavour, even had to get the ketchup out!! Rice was decent but could do with a little something extra. Currys were very bland, like chicken in tomato soup, no real flavour at all. I ordered the king prawn shashlik. 15£ for some rubbery pieces of overcooked prawn. Not to mention BLAND AGAIN. overall quite disappointed and wont be ordering again.
