Dec the landlord has won awards for is beer and his humour. This is a proper good old pub;it don't serve snap, but serves banter and blagarding in spades.A good old log fire and many a tale told with tears of laughter and aching ribs.

So so friendly. A proper pub with a fire and lovely landlord. No food but good for a beer after a walk at the local lakes or in the evening if you're in the caravan park near. How pubs used to be!

My parents when young (now 80) always went to this pub when courting. My partner took them to reminisce. We was made welcome from the punters, and most of all the lovely landlord. We'll sure go again!!

After walking around the Country Park you may want to visit the Anglers for a quick drink or three! No food, just the usual crisps, nuts etc. Reasonably priced drinks, friendly staff and locals make this pub worth a visit.

This old public house is situated in rural countryside and is home to many locals and their dogs lol...there is an open fire which is generally lit inside the tiniest of snugs, a dozen people inside this room and it is full to capacity. It is walker and dog friendly and we have often called in for a quick pint after an enjoyable walk. This pub is very close to the Wintersett Country park and the small camping site for tourers and tents. It has a large garden area where you can sit and enjoy the bird life in a very quiet setting.

Stayed on a caravan site 2 mins from here. Absolutely brilliant pub, it's like going back in time and I mean that as a compliment, lovely bloke behind the bar who never stops working, everyone seems to know each other and they were really friendly. A nice pint with lots to choose from. I loved everything about the place. We'll definitely return. Thanks

I don't call here often, but every visit is memorable because the beer is as well looked after as the customers. This is a perfect spot to end a walk. If it's cold and wet there's real fires, if it's sunny there's a large beer garden. Great pub.

This is an out of the way pub with no airs and graces just good beer and a friendly welcome. The main room boasts a multi fuel stove and plenty of seating. When we went we had taken our two labradors for a walk and called in for a pint and a packet of crisps. The place was packed with walkers and dog owners and it was obvious all dogs were as welcome as visitors. The landlord is an ex miner and being an ex miner myself had plenty in common. There is a good choice of beers and lagers and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Definately a must for walkers.

This is the best pub in Wakefield. A regular pit stop for our Sunday bike rides in the beautiful surrounding countryside. Derek serves an excellent pint (Barnsley Bitter on par with Landlord). Flagstone floor with an open fire in winter and a wood-burning stove in the Saloon. It's a regular haunt for walkers, locals and regulars who turn up for a decent pint. As my son calls it, "it's a proper pub, a drinkers pub". And, thanks Derek, for Isaac's first pint on turning 18 .. on the house. (Derek also serves salted nuts and crisps for those who want a bite to eat.)

Great beer served here. We always stop for a pint after a nice walk or cycle round Anglers Country Park. Been going here for about 20 years now since we moved in just up the road. Not regulars by any means but I do like a good pint and they always have one here.

Called for lunch with a friend. Lovely atmosphere and decor Fairly basic menu but after speaking to James they aim to have minimal waste so more will be added to menu as more customers visit. Staff very attentive and helpful without being intrusive and food tasty and served with minimal waiting time. Highly recommend a visit to either sit in the outside terrace in the sun or inside in the beautifully decorated interior in what look like very comfy seating

Dear all, Might be long here and it will worth your time. I’m please you are reading my review which is needed to know before you make your decision to visit. I am saying everything in my honest directly from my heart to Hidden. Over months I have driven passing this site in my Lorry and seeing something fancy inside I wonder what would it be. My mind keeps telling myself that I MUST visit as soon as possible. Yesterday I put my money where my mouth is, eventually, I went to Hidden Cafe after touring in Coal Mine Museum nearby as a solo person like a Lone Wolf. In that night of being as customer. Environment inside is so beautiful making my mind going to Shangri La. Whether it is an cafe or an mini restaurant or an bar or all of them! Doesn’t really matter because this urban place is an low key place in all set reasons of visiting. Even pop in for a ten minute drink with your friend. I had an well cooked golden pizza with three buns of garlic bread and an posh red wine in addition to my meal. An ace to the young marvellous chef called Milly. Both of the waitress are lovely and welcoming. Sharing stories and our conversations went up to joy and equally. Just like playing tennis. We speak a few lines and wait for the reply or respond instead of holding the ball for too long. We talked all sort of topics. Music, career, families, prologue, hobbies, future and more. Taking yard by yard. Life goes on. Another to mention, their music in the background is smooth, correct volume and matching to the room of relaxing. Somebody could say, ‘To the stars’. If you want to know more about Hidden. Please use yourself or bring a friend and visit to this wonderful Hidden for your own experience and straight answers. Hidden is an Ace place to enjoy yourself whenever you wish to go. Thank you, Spencer Wolf

A hidden gem in Horbury. Such a shame it's hidden out of site up.a side street. Beautiful food and coffee with lovely friendly staff. Try their bacon sandwich on proper uncut bread with ash brown chips it's the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had. The current teacakes are massive and so good. Thank you and see you soon.
