Seven of us went for breakfast. We sat in a small bio dome outside which was different. Most of our group had cooked breakfast which all said was great. I shared a cream tea which was lovely. Cinnamon toast was amazing. The scones came in all sorts of flavours and are available to take away. Cake slices are massive! Would definitely go back.

We visited around 3pm and were approached by a gentleman. When we said we didn’t have a booking he said he couldn’t accommodate us. We asked if we could sit on one of the empty tables outside so he said he would go and ask. Another lady then said we could have the empty table that was inside the restaurant. This initial interaction didn’t make us feel very welcome. The ladies serving were very friendly throughout so we began to feel less like we weren’t welcome. We all had cream teas. It was nice that they had special scones, such as fruit and nut and triple chocolate. One of our party tried one of these and said it was lovely. I had a plain scone which was very nice and fresh. All came served with lashing of jam and cream. Everything was presented very beautifully on china plates and cups and saucers. There was a very noisy large group during our visit which wasn’t ideal as the sound just seemed to reverberate around the room. I know this isn’t the fault of the tea room but it detracted from our enjoyment slightly. The pod outside looked fantastic! I would love to return and try this!0

We were a party of 8 friends and had reserved the dome in the front courtyard. We arrived in Babbacombe an hour early but our table was free so the staff were happy for us to bring forward our booking. We’d only intended to have a cream tea but the menu is so extensive we ended up with a full afternoon tea. It was plentiful & absolutely delicious. Having the dome to ourselves was fantastic. The staff were very helpful and polite and provided boxes for us to take home our leftovers. The loos were clean too! An excellent experience with absolutely no faults & I’d definitely go again.

Nice location and friendly staff. Afternoon tea menu was varied however be careful as portions are rather big. Tea for 2 could easily feed 4 adults! The varieties of scones was an eye opener and tickled the tastebuds 😋 Nice decor although could do with some floor cleanliness as its very tight and dusty outside.

We are so happy that our planned afternoon tea at a nearby cafe was thwarted by early kitchen closure, as the Angelic Tea we shared at the Angel Tea Rooms was excellent. A choice of well-filled sandwiches on fresh granary bread, cinnamon toast (a must!), a choice of very large slices of cake, a wide choice fresh homemade delicious scones, with clotted cream and a choice of jams served with a choice of loose-leaf teas, all served on china by the most helpful and friendly staff, on a terrace overlooking the sea. And we have enough in our take-home boxes for another helping each. It would be difficult to find a better afternoon treat.

The best afternoon tea spot I have ever had! This little tea room is dog friendly, and serves the most incredible afternoon tea - 3 layers with huge sandwiches, massive slabs of cake, and the fluffiest crumbliest scones. They also serve loose leaf tea. The wait staff are lovely, and very welcoming and helpful. I recommend booking in advance, but if you are staying in Torquay this is a must-visit! Right on the coast as well, perfect for a delicious lunch after a walk to Quarry Point.

Love an afternoon tea and always wanted to go to Angels. My daughter is vegan so checked she could be catered for to join me in an afternoon tea. She has it in writing that there were a couple of choices of sandwich and scones for her. As a result she bought me gift vouchers for mothers day and called to book a table and again checked she would be catered for and that was confirmed. She travelled 300 miles to take me for the afternoon tea,we got there to be told she had a choice of one sandwich, there were no vegan cakes but she could have a scone with vegan butter. The sandwich was made of vegetables she doesn't eat. The waitress didn't see it was a problem. I was not going to sit there whilst all she had a scone.Occasion ruined,we left with unspent gift vouchers I won't use as I won't go back on my own. To add insult to injury I paid £2.80 to park for 15 minutes.

Angels is a quirky, old-fashioned little spot nestled on Babbacombe downs. Inside, it is quaint and cosy. The cream tea is honestly one of the best I have ever had in my life, and I am Cornish! You get a wide range of choice of flavoured scones (I chose white chocolate, my friend ginger) and there are always 'Speciality scones' with more adventurous flavours such as Biscoff and dark chocolate and mint. The (huge!) scones arrive warm, with your choice of jam and a whole pot of clotted cream to share. The tea is loose leaf and served in beautiful china. Overall, it is exceptionally delicious and very reasonably priced. Would 100% recommend after a walk across the downs to warm up.

Beautiful location very nice food and overall a very nice experience, We would advise booking as its only a small tea room and is very popular, For us we did find the prices a little on the steep side but I guess this is down to being situated in a great holiday location with sea views and being very popular. We had two small breakfasts a can a pop and an apple juice and we didn't get any change from £25

We were invited to join our friends for afternoon tea at Angel's. We had a table in the 'bubble' in the garden so would have been protected from any adverse weather. As it happens it was a lovely day. The food was plentiful! Sandwiches were proper rounds from a huge selection, not like the dainty fingers you sometimes get. The cake selection was also huge, as was the selection offered. Tea and prosecco added to the experience and the service was always with a smile. For a small operation there were plenty of staff. A box was offered to allow us to take our excess cake home. We had two dogs with us and they too were welcomed with a bowl of water being brought to the table for them.

We visited with our small children, excited about the prospect of a delicious cream tea. When we arrived, we were advised there were no tables inside but we were happy to sit outside as it was fairly sunny and the children were hungry. When our scones arrived, so did a swarm of wasps! There were absolutely hundreds of them. Hanging from the trees were lots of wasp catchers so the staff clearly knew that there were wasps there. It was really unenjoyable - and the children were scared and couldn’t sit down. I understand that wasps are a feature of nature, but I do feel that the situation should have been explained to us before they took our order. In the end, we left and asked for take away boxes and ate on the green opposite where there were far fewer wasps. Other customers told us that they hadn’t enjoyed themselves either because of the wasps. I just think it would have been courteous to either warn us about the wasps before taking our order, tell us to come back later when tables were available inside or offer a take away in the first instance. The whole experience was very unenjoyable and stressful. To add insult to injury, they were reluctant to lend us a knife and also didn’t offer any take away cups for our drinks. Due to the discourtesy, I wouldn’t recommend coming here, even though the scones were nice when not covered with wasps!

Lovely little tea room! We were holidaying in Devon after travelling from Norfolk, and we knew we wanted to have a traditional Devonshire cream tea during our stay. We researched a fair few places and this one kept coming up as the best so we settled on going here. We hadn't booked so there wasn't any seating available inside, but actually it made a change sitting outside and it was a glorious day anyway, so I am glad we sat outside. There was an excellent choice of scones - it was too difficult to pick which to have! We went for a cherry one and an oreo one in the end which we decided to share so we could try the 2 flavours. Both were absolutely delicious and they were served warm as well which made them even better. The cream tea was £6.10 each which seemed fairly reasonable considering the popular area. My dad had a victoria sponge cake and he said that was really nice. Our only criticism between the 3 of us would be that the tea pot had way too much loose tea in which made it difficult to get much more than a cup each and I personally feel tea bags would be much better. It was quick service, although the staff could have been a bit friendlier and not so 'business' like. The tea room is in a prime location just across the road from the beach. The food was excellent and I highly recommend.

We enjoyed the afternoon tea with a warm scone, clotted cream, jam and a piece of cake each and also shared a sandwich. Very enjoyable experience. The young waiter was excellent and looked after our needs.

The most amazing afternoon tea. We didn't book (would definitely recommend) but they were able to accommodate us. We had a lovely table outside with views out to the sea. The service was amazing, the lady couldn't be nicer. And the food was amazing. Everything was so fresh. I'd say one of the best afternoon teas I've had.

We are staying In torquay and the owner of our hotel recommended us to try here as the wife was desperate for a Devon cream tea during our break . We were certainly not disappointed, the scones are fresh and served warm, probably the lightest scone I have ever tried, I had the ginger scone and the wife had a fruit one. The sandwiches were served on lovely fresh thick bread, then the thick cinnamon toast and the homemade cakes, again plenty to choose from . I would recomendthe victoria sponge. Please book ahead as wouldn't want you to miss out.

This was the best cream tea we had while in Devon. We hadn’t booked but managed to get a table outside on a lovely warm sunny day. Service was very good we had sandwiches and cream scones and tea . Very filling and scrumptious scones we’d had a few in different places on are weeks holiday these were by far the best. Big pot of tea with extra hot water great for me as I drink it black and don’t like it to strong. I liked the miss mash of china cups and plate etc a bit quirky. Can definitely recommend .

I wanted to try a traditional Devonshire cream tea, and so glad I booked this place! I got to choose from a selection of different flavoured scones and they were heavenly Couldn't finish both scones but I took the leftovers with me for later. My partner had a ham and cheese sandwich and chips, which was also lovely and a very generous portion. Also nice bonus that this tea room has gorgeous views over the bay, and is just next to the Babbacombe Cliff Railway. Highly recommend!

• We were lucky to get a table through walk in so I advise to book. • Myself and my boyfriend ordered a Mini Devonshire Cream Tea each. The scones are big so they are about the size of 2 little ones so the mini is plenty to eat. Tea was leaf tea. Soya milk available. Could have a coffee instead of a tea with the cream tea. There was a large selection of different scones such as unusual flavours like Triple chocolate and biscoff as well as the traditional fruit and plain. • The staff were very friendly. • Located right opposite Babbacombe front. If you're sat in the right seat outside you can see the view. • Plants and flowers are around the building.• The cream tea was delicious and top quality.

Wow this place did not disappoint. We had the most delightful cream tea. Genuinely was one of the beat I have had and it was a treat that this was the first that my partner tried. The tea was super tasty, the scones melted in your mouth and the cake was out of this world. Highly recommend!

Gorgeous cream tea and the scones were slightly warmed. Best coffee of our holidays and courteous staff. We can’t fault anything we had. We even stayed for another cuppa. If only we lived locally as I’d come back again
