We returned to Angela’s Tea Rooms in Filey today, having visited several times previously. As ever, today’s visit was a real treat. We had Afternoon Tea for 3 of us and were very pleased with the variety of sandwiches, savoury items, scones and cakes. All home made and absolutely delicious. Plenty of tea to wash it all down with. My daughter had a cheese and tuna toasted sandwich, also excellent. This cafe not only serves great food but is also great value for money - £12.50 pp for afternoon tea. Quick and friendly service, lovely staff. It is cash only but we haven’t found that a problem at all. We will be back - I fancy trying the crab sandwich next!

One of the best places in Filey for good quality food. Try the lobster salad or failing that the crab sandwiches. Also the vanilla slices are delicious. Try this place and you will not be disappointed. We recommend it.

This has got to be the best cafe in Filey, and all of the staff are super friendly and very helpful, even bought me a jug of water for my dogs. I had the feta cheese quiche, which was absolutely to ‘die’ for it comes with ‘fresh’ side salad, not something that has been cut up and stored in a box !! crisps and coleslaw, it was gorgeous. Hubby had a jacket potato with cheese and beans, salad and coleslaw which he said was gorgeous too. Almost everything is all homemade, the cakes all looked delicious, so of course we had to try them, 😀 rude not to when you’re on holiday, we had a Manchester tart, and a Lemon meringue, both were absolutely delicious. Good job I don’t live here or I would be in there every day and the size of a house 🤣, thanks again to all at Angela’s, see you again soon 👍

family trying to find our way down to the sea, I was in need of the loo and saw a waitress and politely asked her where the closest toilets were (I have an overactive bladder) , to be snapped at saying this isn’t that sort of place (not sure what she meant) , you’ll have to find some public toilets these are for customers only (I wasn’t expecting to use there’s). We then asked if we could get to the sea front the way we were going and she said yes. (family member was on mobility scooter) . I was flustered and said to my family come let’s go only to discover that’s the route was inaccessible. My autistic son then said he wanted a drink and a scone, so we decided to go to the tearoom as it was nearby. Myself and my two sons (aged 7&9 - mixed race - I shouldn’t have to put this but feel I need to) proceeded to enter the establishment whilst my other family member sat at the table outside. I ordered 3 hot drinks, a can of pop and 2 scones (the scones looked Devine). My youngest son was asking for butter on his scone, the lady serving asked if we wanted them buttering of which I said oh yes please thinking one happy boy, the tip bowl/plate was on the counter near us and they proceeded to lean and grab it (no excuse me or anything - this gave me the feeling that they thought we were up to something and proceeded to count it. The 3 hot drinks were served in takeaway paper cups of which I thought nothing of and the scones in paper bags. When sitting down and drinking our drinks, I made an observation and a passing comment to my Family member that everyone had normal cups and we had take away cups and it was a little odd, after scanning round we were literally the only ones with these cups. My family member then went into the establishment to kindly ask how come we were served paper cups and yet everyone else normal cups and trays. They were then told I would have asked for them (I didn’t, I wasn’t given the option), they then proceeded to offer my family member a new drink (1 not 3) . The drinks tasted good. We both felt discriminated against, my family member expressed this and left and came to sit back down, myself and my boys were sat enjoying our drinks and food as my family member sat down, within a few minutes later a staff member stormed out and began shouting at me in front of my 7year old and 9year old and other customers. Saying that I would have been asked and that because I asked for the scone to be buttered then it was taken to be that I was taking it out. I explained we are not from the area and were unaware that having a scone be buttered meant that we were taking away. I felt utterly humiliated, we upped and left. My sons were upset that they witnessed this as were we. We will not be returning and will be warning others.

This was our second visit and cannot fault. Especially the cappuccino is the best ever. First visit just included a scone which was delicious, fresh and full of fruit. Today has toasted sandwich which came with salad, coleslaw and few crisps. Staff are lovely and friendly. Finished with ice cream cone - various flavours . It’s cash only but not a problem. Yesterday to taste the cakes which look very tempting. Will be returning.

We went to Angela's Tea Rooms for my wife's birthday afternoon tea. Everything on the plates was home made from fruit scones to sandwiches, cakes and salads. Even the jam for the scones. Better still, the sandwiches, scones, pork pie, Victoria sponge, Lemon drizzle cake, and Walnut Cake we had were the very best we'd every tasted. This is the biggest bargain in Filey. Top quality produce, and brilliant service in beautiful surroundings. For those complaining about it being cash only, it takes NO effort at all to go to an ATM! Judging by the constant stream of customers, they're doing just fine as a cash only business and definitely deserve all their success.

We have visited this tearooms on a number of occasions whilst visiting Filey over the last few years and have always been satisfied with our coffee and cakes which we have been told by the staff are homemade by family members. The staff in my opinion have always been friendly and service has been good. The premises are clean and inviting with good outside space for dog owners and for those warmer days. Take cash no cards accepted. We are booked in for afternoon tea on Friday and are looking forward to that with their homemade sandwiches, cakes and scones.

Visited quite a few times over the years always for coffee and cake and have never been disappointed in the service, drinks or food. On this visit we had two lattes and homemade cakes. Coffee was hot just how I like it, cafes often make coffee just warm. The cakes are homemade by family members and are a good size, I’ve had vanilla slices, Manchester tart and scones in the past and all very nice. Shame they close for the winter soon. We are booked in to try their afternoon tea on Friday.

When we are in Filey and if the weather is fine, the first place that we visit after parking the car is Angela's. They are not pet friendly so we sit outside but the Yorkshire tea and nice cakes help to make up for that. It can be pricey depending on what you choose but the view makes up for that. The cafe is down a steepish slope and having mobility problems I have to be careful both going down and back up again but I/we will continue to visit when we are in the area.

Situated just under the gardens... it is perfect for being just out of the wind (if you sit outside) or inside in the large seating area. On entering you are met by various homemade jams, cards and pickles. The display cabinets at the till are full of homemade cakes, pies, amazing quiches and sausage rolls. No hard sell needed... they look and taste amazing. Me and my wife had a cappuccino and a bottle of water. Accompanied by 2 biscoff biscuits. The coffee was good.. came from a bean machine.. but not the pressured range you might find in most coffee shops. We went back later to buy a custard slice and a sausage roll. Let me tell you... they were both perfect! There is some talent here! The welcome was super charming and the place was spotlessly clean. Well worth a visit. Next door is an ice cream parlour.. so something for everyone! The only down side is the view. It should be of the sea but obviously years of growth on the trees in front of the cafe mean you can't really see it! It would do the trees good to be topped... but I realise not the cafés job! It is still really pleasant to sit out of the way and enjoy some autumn sunshine. Highly recommend this place.

Was told I could que up again & get tub of just ice-cream!!!!!! Was then told a small tub of plain ice-cream was £4.00 - more expensive than the peach melba I was looking forward to!!!! As for the other food we ordered the scone was dry & tea only just warm!!!!!!

This cannot be classed as dog friendly as dogs are not allowed inside, however, the home made food is excellent, and no, I would want to argue with the staff either

Visit every time I come to Filey, their cakes are delicious and very reasonable prices. Nice cappuccino. Granddaughter likes the icecream. I was very impressed with there standard of hygiene at this difficult time. All tables and chairs where cleaned after each costume left.Very friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Afternoon tea was good value for money however they could be a little more flexible allowing people to possibly choose different items say for example plain scones, my wife hates dried fruit but had to have fruit scones on her platter and could not choose an alternative.

First of all let me stress this is the first time I have felt the need to review any cafe or establishment. I stress this because the owners throw away comment to me as she shouted across her outside area was in can tell you’re the type to go tippy tap on the key board’. Her other comment even challenged about the service offered was all others are happy and it’s because they are local! I can’t comment on the food as my wife and I only ordered drinks and an ice cream. My wife placed her tea on a tray which was already on the table. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the best idea as in error a member of staff took away the tray including the drink which hadn’t been touched. We accept mistakes happen and asked a member of staff to return or replace the tea only to be met by total denial and an aggressive attitude. Secondly, I ordered an ice cream cone and was served by a young lady who came to serve me from placing rubbish in the back of a truck, imagine my shock when she served me without gloves or washing her hands. In made no comment and accepted the ice cream. I then noticed a blonde woman talking to others and aggressively staring at us. She proceeded to march over to me and introduced herself as the owner and demanded to know the problem. When I told her about the tea and ice cream she categorically told me neither incidents had happened! I admit at this stage I became angry as all I really wanted was an apology and replacement tea! What a fuss over nothing I hear you say! However, potential customers need to be aware of the poor customer service of what appears to be a pleasant team room. In addition, I suggest to the owner that she reflects on her behaviour and that of her staff. Her throw away comment that all he other customers were happy because they were local was particularly unhelpful

Really nice food, cakes also lovely. The staff are variable, some very friendly, some very off hand. We felt really uncomfortable last time we went, the lady behind the counter was very short and snappy with us. Shame as it's nice otherwise

This must be the very best tea/coffee shop in Filey. Tucked under the bandstand it has a regular clientele of locals and visitors seem surprised that such a little gem is almost hidden away. Their cakes are all home made with the most delicious fillings and flavourings. The flapjack with white chocolate is a dream, as are the scones. Their bacon sandwiches are the best we have ever had. Their crab sandwiches and home made coleslaw are fantastic and their afternoon tea is to die for, such a superb treat. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, the premises are cleanliness perfected and people are queuing up for tables. Whether eating outside or in the whole experience is perfect. Whatever your choice of drink can be readily supplied and they are all delicious. Well worth a visit.

Great tea rooms, fab outside area overlooking the beach. We timed it too late for afternoon tea as they had sold out (which is amazing to see they are doing so well) so we opted for cake and coffee. Thank you

Delicious! The setting in the terraced gardens overlooking the sea is delightful and the staff are always friendly and efficient. The measures in place to avoid Covid risk are exemplary, with ample spacing and scrupulous attention to cleaning and sanitising tables between customers.By far the best tearooms on the Yorkshire Coast!Long may Angela and her winning team reign!
