Gorgeous place to come to and is always on our list as a ' must go to'when we are in Filey. Beautiful setting and everything here is really delicious. The lemon meringue tart and coffee cake are to die for. It's lovely sitting outside and enjoying the sunshine. Sadly it was raining today and as we have a dog we couldn't go in, there was some seating under a canopy for the ice creams but sadly for us just a bit too chilly to sit out. It is cash only so that is something to always remember when visiting.

We decided to try this cafe as the reviews were good . Visited with my husband and elderly mum . My husband is coeliac and needs gluten free . I approached the lady at the counter I politely asked if they did anything GF her harsh reply was NO WE DONT . Ok I said so I orderd something for myself and mum . I then said well my husband will be eating something I prepared for him just in case . After sitting down waiting for my orderd food I noticed 2 large signs one in front of the counter and the other behind the counter on the wall . The signs actually said they do cater for food allergies just ask our staff and they will be happy to help !!!!!! Well the rude woman that served me obviously couldn’t be bothered 😕. So don’t go to Angela’s cafe if you have food allergies as they can’t be bothered and are very rude and not helpful.

Rude staff. Intended to get a drink and bite to eat however took my 2 daughters aged 11 and 8 to use the facilities and was met by a member of staff waiting for us who proceeded to tell us rather abruptly, in front of a queue of people and room full of dining customers that the loos were for customer use only, continued to point out that public loos were further down the road and you shouldn’t just walk into a cafe to use their loos. Disgusting way to speak to visitors, wasn’t even given an opportunity to explain that we were there to purchase food and drinks. Humiliating.

We returned to Angela’s Tea Rooms in Filey today, having visited several times previously. As ever, today’s visit was a real treat. We had Afternoon Tea for 3 of us and were very pleased with the variety of sandwiches, savoury items, scones and cakes. All home made and absolutely delicious. Plenty of tea to wash it all down with. My daughter had a cheese and tuna toasted sandwich, also excellent. This cafe not only serves great food but is also great value for money - £12.50 pp for afternoon tea. Quick and friendly service, lovely staff. It is cash only but we haven’t found that a problem at all. We will be back - I fancy trying the crab sandwich next!

This has got to be the best cafe in Filey, and all of the staff are super friendly and very helpful, even bought me a jug of water for my dogs. I had the feta cheese quiche, which was absolutely to ‘die’ for it comes with ‘fresh’ side salad, not something that has been cut up and stored in a box !! crisps and coleslaw, it was gorgeous. Hubby had a jacket potato with cheese and beans, salad and coleslaw which he said was gorgeous too. Almost everything is all homemade, the cakes all looked delicious, so of course we had to try them, 😀 rude not to when you’re on holiday, we had a Manchester tart, and a Lemon meringue, both were absolutely delicious. Good job I don’t live here or I would be in there every day and the size of a house 🤣, thanks again to all at Angela’s, see you again soon 👍

family trying to find our way down to the sea, I was in need of the loo and saw a waitress and politely asked her where the closest toilets were (I have an overactive bladder) , to be snapped at saying this isn’t that sort of place (not sure what she meant) , you’ll have to find some public toilets these are for customers only (I wasn’t expecting to use there’s). We then asked if we could get to the sea front the way we were going and she said yes. (family member was on mobility scooter) . I was flustered and said to my family come let’s go only to discover that’s the route was inaccessible. My autistic son then said he wanted a drink and a scone, so we decided to go to the tearoom as it was nearby. Myself and my two sons (aged 7&9 - mixed race - I shouldn’t have to put this but feel I need to) proceeded to enter the establishment whilst my other family member sat at the table outside. I ordered 3 hot drinks, a can of pop and 2 scones (the scones looked Devine). My youngest son was asking for butter on his scone, the lady serving asked if we wanted them buttering of which I said oh yes please thinking one happy boy, the tip bowl/plate was on the counter near us and they proceeded to lean and grab it (no excuse me or anything - this gave me the feeling that they thought we were up to something and proceeded to count it. The 3 hot drinks were served in takeaway paper cups of which I thought nothing of and the scones in paper bags. When sitting down and drinking our drinks, I made an observation and a passing comment to my Family member that everyone had normal cups and we had take away cups and it was a little odd, after scanning round we were literally the only ones with these cups. My family member then went into the establishment to kindly ask how come we were served paper cups and yet everyone else normal cups and trays. They were then told I would have asked for them (I didn’t, I wasn’t given the option), they then proceeded to offer my family member a new drink (1 not 3) . The drinks tasted good. We both felt discriminated against, my family member expressed this and left and came to sit back down, myself and my boys were sat enjoying our drinks and food as my family member sat down, within a few minutes later a staff member stormed out and began shouting at me in front of my 7year old and 9year old and other customers. Saying that I would have been asked and that because I asked for the scone to be buttered then it was taken to be that I was taking it out. I explained we are not from the area and were unaware that having a scone be buttered meant that we were taking away. I felt utterly humiliated, we upped and left. My sons were upset that they witnessed this as were we. We will not be returning and will be warning others.

This was our second visit and cannot fault. Especially the cappuccino is the best ever. First visit just included a scone which was delicious, fresh and full of fruit. Today has toasted sandwich which came with salad, coleslaw and few crisps. Staff are lovely and friendly. Finished with ice cream cone - various flavours . It’s cash only but not a problem. Yesterday to taste the cakes which look very tempting. Will be returning.

We went to Angela's Tea Rooms for my wife's birthday afternoon tea. Everything on the plates was home made from fruit scones to sandwiches, cakes and salads. Even the jam for the scones. Better still, the sandwiches, scones, pork pie, Victoria sponge, Lemon drizzle cake, and Walnut Cake we had were the very best we'd every tasted. This is the biggest bargain in Filey. Top quality produce, and brilliant service in beautiful surroundings. For those complaining about it being cash only, it takes NO effort at all to go to an ATM! Judging by the constant stream of customers, they're doing just fine as a cash only business and definitely deserve all their success.

Visited quite a few times over the years always for coffee and cake and have never been disappointed in the service, drinks or food. On this visit we had two lattes and homemade cakes. Coffee was hot just how I like it, cafes often make coffee just warm. The cakes are homemade by family members and are a good size, I’ve had vanilla slices, Manchester tart and scones in the past and all very nice. Shame they close for the winter soon. When we are in Filey and if the weather is fine, the first place that we visit after parking the car is Angela's. They are not pet friendly so we sit outside but the Yorkshire tea and nice cakes help to make up for that. It can be pricey depending on what you choose but the view makes up for that. The cafe is down a steepish slope and having mobility problems I have to be careful both going down and back up again but I/we will continue to visit when we are in the area.

Situated just under the gardens... it is perfect for being just out of the wind (if you sit outside) or inside in the large seating area. On entering you are met by various homemade jams, cards and pickles. The display cabinets at the till are full of homemade cakes, pies, amazing quiches and sausage rolls. No hard sell needed... they look and taste amazing. Me and my wife had a cappuccino and a bottle of water. Accompanied by 2 biscoff biscuits. The coffee was good.. came from a bean machine.. but not the pressured range you might find in most coffee shops. We went back later to buy a custard slice and a sausage roll. Let me tell you... they were both perfect! There is some talent here! The welcome was super charming and the place was spotlessly clean. Well worth a visit. Next door is an ice cream parlour.. so something for everyone! The only down side is the view. It should be of the sea but obviously years of growth on the trees in front of the cafe mean you can't really see it! It would do the trees good to be topped... but I realise not the cafés job! It is still really pleasant to sit out of the way and enjoy some autumn sunshine. Highly recommend this place.

Enjoyed a lovely stroll around Smiley Filey and decided to stop for refreshments. Being a nice warm and sunny day we chose Angela's as there us a large outside terrace with lovely views of the bay between the trees. We only had tea, coffee and millionaire shortbread but it was all lovely and enjoyable as we watched the World go byFriendly staff and covid friendlyWell worth a visit

Very disappointed with our visit yesterday!!!!!! Waited all year for visit to seaside for fish & chips & ice-cream! Was told when I got to counter & had already ordered other food (not fish & chips - were not on menu) that they were not doing ice cream sundaes due to Covid - eventhough they are supposed to be an ice cream parlour!!!!! Was told I could que up again & get tub of just ice-cream!!!!!! Was then told a small tub of plain ice-cream was £4.00 - more expensive than the peach melba I was looking forward to!!!! As for the other food we ordered the scone was dry & tea only just warm!!!!!!

This cannot be classed as dog friendly as dogs are not allowed inside, however, the home made food is excellent, and no, I would want to argue with the staff either

My wife uses a walker. We had never been to the Deli before so were unsure how to proceed. The staff completely ignored us. It was as if we were not there, or invisible. Even as we walked out of the Deli, no staff member offered any acknowledgement of us!

Amazing evening seafood meal. Fabulous service from Johan and wonderful little tasters including a really tasty broccoli soup appetiser. Cannot recommend the food and service enough. Tx

Great cakes and bread to eat in or take away. Dogs are allowed inside. We had a good lunch. It was very busy, because the food is very good.

This pub/restaurant is under new ownership but the food and the drinks are still of exceptional quality. We visited at lunchtime (midweek), we had reserved our table in advance (this is advisable) and we were met with a very warm welcome. The menu has changed but still offers a good selection. The quality of the food was very good and the presentation appealing. Always a must when we visit this area. Good luck going forward, this place remains a firm favourite with us

First visit. First impression delightful location. Extremely poor / processed quality food (not uncommon with many cafes/tea shops). Very small slice of cake and eclair with equally small dollop ice cream, cup of tea and mug coffee cost £12.70. As with the venue people seem nice. Accept dogs (which is great). Suggest review and improve quality of food and presentation. Leaving a used cigarette ashtray on table not indicative of professional service.
