I ordered a cake for my wife’s birthday and was not disappointed! She has a nut allergy and was very happy that I could order one not containing nuts. The cake was beautifully presented and tasted amazing. Thankyou so much!

Lovely rainbow cake made for my son’s 4th birthday. Was made vegan and was delicious. Although very sugary I felt myself sugar crashing and getting sugar high simultaneously whilst eating. But the birthday cake isn’t meant to be savoury. 😋 👍

Last minute order for cupcakes for my daughter Amy's birthday, I am in Ireland so could not do much, Angel bakery delivered beautyful cupcakes at the perfect time. Would highly recomend as in this case given the short notice they went out of thier way for me.

I’m a little bit disappointed if I’m honest. I ordered the ‘Classic Victoria With a Modern Twist’ , the cake looked superb and certainly had the ‘wow factor’, however, upon cutting into it the sponge is dry and heavy and any cake left after 3 days is totally inedible. I’ve made Victoria sponges before and after a few days in a cake tin they’re still light and moist……..Sorry Angel Food Bakery, no Hollywood Handshake for you!

Ordered a birthday cake and had it delivered to a local resturant where we were having the party. Everything went really smoothly, the price was great compared to othe local bakeries, and most importantly the cake was yummy and everyone enjoyed it. Would highly recommend.

This bakery is pathetic, there's no day you get there at 9am or 9.30am and there food is ready... expecially the breads. They will tell you come back in 30min. Laxity to business and bad customer service. Bakery ahould be ready before the customers in the morning, but in there case, its the other way road...

Awful. The picture on the website looked so good, nice array of chocs on top, gold spray. Looked like it would be a well deserved treat for a 19 year old, who had just endured a year of lockdown. Not only did it look awful it tasted WORSE than a shop bought cake. I don't recommend, in fact, if you need a cake hmu. I make a lovely sponge

An amazing cake, I ordered the classic Victoria Sponge for a birthday party. It looked fantastic and tasted delicious. On top of that it was delivered with fantastic service. Brilliant

Very disappointed with the appearance of the advertised cake versus the delivered cake. For reference, I have uploaded two photos. The first image is of the delivered cake upon arrival. The Coco-Cola cake image is from Angel Food Bakery's website. I ordered the Photo/Image Layer Cake. The design of the cake on the website would have been perfect, and, to an extent, what I was expecting. However, the delivered cake is a poor attempt of what's depicted on Angel Food Bakery's website - no drips, multicolored sprinkles, and plain buttercream used in spades versus the high degree of colour shown online. In addition, the colours in the printed icing have bled. It looks as if the cake has gotten wet. It has not been cut yet, so I cannot review the taste or texture. Angel Food Bakery, please either improve the descriptions of your products (including photos), or improve your execution. This order has made a rather disappointing birthday cake. Update: the birthday person enjoyed the taste of the cake itself and the rainbow colours were very bright.

I googled cake bakeries in Brighton and found Angel Food Bakery, chose them because of locality and the images on their website. They baked a 21st Birthday cake for my son who is at Uni in Brighton, delivered it on the day and the cake was amazing! Would thoroughly recommend them.

Exellent service provided by this company. Cake arrived during the stated time by a very polite young man who followed social distancing rules. The cake (vegan biscoff) looked and tasted incredible, so glad me and my wife managed to find somewhere which can produce such a wide range of vegan options. Will be ordering again soon.

We ordered a cake for our daughter’s 21st birthday. It was delivered within the time period provided when ordering and was exactly as the website picture. The guy who delivered it was very polite and asked me to check the cake by raising the lid as he held the box with both of us at full arms distance. The cake was perfectly presented. Our daughter loved the cake when she saw it and it tasted great. The cake was just the right size for a small outdoor party within the current social distancing/COVID rules. We will definitely use the company again.

Ordering the cakes was easy and they handled everything. I ordered the vegan, chocolate, gluten free cake (my brother-in-law is GF) and a photo image cake and emailed a picture of my husband as a baby to be put on the cake. They delivered the cakes to a restaurant on the day of his 40th birthday dinner as promised. The photo image cake was red velvet with coffee icing involved - it was so yummy! The chocolate cake was perfect. I would definitely order cakes again from here - they really were the highlight of my husband's 40th birthday.

As can be seen from the images, the cake on the website and the one I received look like completely different cakes - the one I received resembles one which can be bought in Tescos for £5, and definitely not worth £25. Simply everything is different about them. Secondly, the name is misspelled as 'Kia'. My name is Kiya. This was clearly written on the instructions in the message. Not only this but SHE HERSELF spelled my name correctly on the delivery card (as shown on the picture), but somehow still managed to misspell it on the actual cake. Thirdly, after walking to the bakery to collect my cake, ringing the doorbell and calling the phone number with no answer, I found out that the cake was not ready. Even though I had the order number and confirmation e-mail the cake was not made on time and no one was at the bakery to explain the situation to me. The woman on the phone was not particularly apologetic and told me that the cake would be delivered to me by 16:00. The cake was not delivered until 17:40. She explained this was because someone else was late to correct their order but I would have thought that after making so many mistakes I would be the priority and my cake would at least get delivered on time. So overall, I had the stress of walking, waiting for a cake which was not made, which then arrived late, with my name misspelled and looking ABSOLUTELY different from the picture. I would go as far as calling this a scam - I simply did not get the product which I paid for. I would love an explanation of what happened please. *response to owner* - you know just after 5pm cannot be true as we were on the phone at 5:11pm talking about the cake still not arriving (I can post a screenshot of this as proof). Still no call received, despite it being almost 10pm. I would argue that the cake is COMPLETELY different, it’s not a matter of ‘detail’ being different. Yes you delivered the cake at ‘no extra cost’ because it was YOUR fault that YOUR system failed, not my fault. You did not notify me about the cake being delivered 1.40 hours late - it was ME who had to call you and find out.

Vegan Salted Caramel birthday cake.... Absolutely divine!!! I made the order by phone and a few days later collected at the time slot given... Easy peasy. And this was less than a week before Christmas!!! When vegan cakes taste this good, why have dairy?? (And I'm not vegan or a veggie). It was amazing... And the party guests, some vegan cynics, all loved it. Would definitely use again and highly recommend!!!

Poor service! I wouldn't recommend this bakery to anyone, especially if you're needing a cake for a special occasion, reliability is not a strong suit with Angel food bakery! My mum ordered a cake two and a half weeks in advance over the phone for my birthday, she requested the chocolate cake, with the message 'Happy Birthday Eustine' to be written on it to be delivered to our house, however multiple errors followed: Firstly the cake that was ordered was not received; we did receive a chocolate cake, however not the one pictured on their website, there were strawberries on the cake (these were not requested, or mentioned, in this case the possibility of allergies was not considered by angel food bakery). Secondly the cake was attempted to be delivered to the wrong address... multiple times, (even though I left a voicemail confirming the address on the alleged day of delivery) and although we stated to drop if off at the neighbors if needed, this did not happen, as a result this lead to the cake being delivered two days later, meaning, I had to go out and buy a cake last minute for the party waiting at my house. In the end the address was confirmed with the delivery driver when I asked him to call me if I didn't answer the door, this poor delivery driver was twenty doors down knocking on the wrong door. Lastly and possibly the icing on the cake (quite literally) the cake did not say 'Happy Birthday Eustine', but rather 'Happy Birthday Yousef'. I don't know any Yousef's, and my husband was not happy to see another mans name on my birthday cake. I will be the first to admit that my name isn't the easiest to spell, but my mother spelled out my name letter for letter, meaning this rather expensive high end bakery took a guess on address, and name, rather than using the two and a half weeks they had to confirm the order. When I finally received the cake and realized the wrong name, I called angel food bakery, the lady on the phone was not apologetic at all, and said they will send a driver to collect this cake I did not ask for, two days in a row I rush home from work in order to pass this cake onto someone, for someone else from angel food to tell me that 'they do not run a collection service' and if I didn't want this cake I would have to 'bring it to them myself'! When highlighting the multitude of errors to Angel food bakery, I received excuses upon excuses; 'the person who took the order is away', 'the phone line is bad', 'your mum should've sent a follow up email'. We eventually received a full refund, in which I believe was the correct resolution, however the reason I decided to write this review is because I plan lots of events, and I myself provide cakes/cupcakes for events in my local community. When paying for a service upfront there is a level of trust between the buyer and the seller, and there are certain expectations that should be met, I do not believe that they were met here, and I believe that not only were we let down, there was a whole lot of time wasting, and me sending follow up emails prompting for responses. It was obvious there was a great lack of attention to detail from the moment the order was initially placed, to the tiring conflict resolution. I had high hopes for angel food bakery, unfortunately I will not be using their services again. In response to the owner below: Wow Debbie/ Hannah, there are so many untruths to your response, now I don't know where to start! Firstly, I dont appreciate you insinuating that my mum didn't follow through with emails. Secondly, the name on the cake was wrong, not much else to say there. Next, whether there was a party or not, thats not for you to comment on, also it was stated in emails. And Finally, it was Debbie who said to me via email that you will send a courier at 8pm... twice, as your couriers work from 10am to midnight. I was expecing such a response from you judging from the previous negative responses you've left for disappointed customers on this page. I leave reviews to help shoppers as reviews help me, theres no need for the petty responses.

Amazing cake, thank you! I ordered vegan birthday cake and it was divine. It was very easy to make an order, choose delivery date and simply pay. I did call few times to check if cake was coming, as it was my first ever cake order, and staff were always very friendly and helpful. I ordered lemon flavour, and although sponge could have been more lemony, it was still a very good sponge. We are still eating it after a day, delicious 😏

AVOID THIS RIP OFF COWBOY BAKERY! Ordered a 23rd Birthday cake to be delivered as a surprise for a friend , and received poor communication, disinterested in anything I asked for and then alarm bells started to ring. When I asked for a picture to be sent to me when the cake was made, I was reassured ' There is no need to send you an image, It'll look just like the website picture. I then felt slightly re assured. The day of the cake delivery I received a message with a picture on it which I was not expecting! The strawberries were moldy, and looked mank, writing was wonky, and hardly fit on the cake. The presentation was horrific and looked absolutely nothing like as described! They delivered the cake - not to the recipient to a random neighbor who nobody knows! when texting the owner to say I am not happy at all with this cake, it is awful, the reply I got was '' We are sorry you don't think the cake looks like described but it does, and it is not messy. Still have no idea where the cake has gone, when asking for a refund, I was told they do not refund as there is nothing wrong with the cake! Luckily I paid through paypal so got a full refund from them! £45.00 for nothing but a mess!!! AVOID at all costs, you will be unhappy with your proposal for sure from these nothing but Cowboy bakers!

Ordered a red velvet cake for my birthday and paid in full over a week before, told them when I would be picking it up and went over every detail very throughly because I wanted it to be perfect. Came to collect it on my birthday (2 hours before the party) and they had not made it and had no record of my order. They eventually gave me someone else’s chocolate cake which they delivered to my apartment during the party. The new cake was bigger but not at all what I wanted or had ordered. I was extremely disappointed as I had planned everything really well and I showed up at the bakery excited to collect my cake only to have them have no idea what I was talking about. I would never buy anything here again or recommend it to anyone. Although they were nice enough to give me someone else’s cake and do a home delivery for free I could tell they were extremely annoyed at the situation and the staff member who had messed up the order and that only made me feel more upset. They didn’t act calm under pressure and reassure me that everything would be resolved, they acted annoyed at the staff member in the store and at me.

Totally agree with other bad reviews here. Very disappointing, definitely not the best cupcakes in town anymore. I had already noticed that since they moved to the new place, cupcakes were not as good as they used to be, meaning great frosting but very dry sponge. Rather than listen to the alarm bells in my head I decided to order my birthday cake hoping that it would be as good as my wedding cake 3 years ago...not even close I must say! First of all, I was supposed to collect it on the day at 11AM but one hour before I was informed that they were having problems with the electricity and they couldn't make the frosting so they suggested to deliver it in the afteernoon. As I had guests for lunch I immediately said that that wasn't an option! They eventually managed to deliver it just after 12 and I was grateful for it, although I had to change my plans completely that morning and rush back home by 12 to make sure i was there for the delivery. The cake looked amazing, definitely good for pictures however I can't say the same about the taste. In fact, it was hard and as dry as sand, not freshly made, we all left it and eventually more than half went straight in the bin. I thought a lot before complaining but then I thought to text the person who delivered it and took the original order however all she said was that they didn't notice anything wrong when they made it the day before and that I should have brought it back for them to assess if it was bad or not...surely not what I had planned to do on my birthday! Apparently cakes are always made the day before, shame no one bothered to tell me when I ordered it! Had I known it I would have opted for something different. Having paid £35 I would have expected a better cake and definitely better customer service. It's a real shame. I used to love Angel Food Bakery, you could smell those cupcakes when walking in the laines...not anymore unfortunately!

i get all my cakes from Angel food!they are so fresh and tasty, amazing service and amazing cakes. the last cake i ordered was so so last minute and she still accepted my order at no extra charges. the cake was also ready to be collected in time for the celebration.

We visited here on a recent trip to Brighton as we wanted some cake and had read good things. This place has a nice outside seating area and a decent selection of reasonably priced cakes - much better price wise than others in the local area. I had a chocolate cupcake and it looked lovely, was a perfect size and the frosting was to die for. Sadly the cake itself was a bit bland flavour wise and too dry, I'm not sure if it was over baked or a few days old. It was ok and I would go back here if I was passing but I wouldn't go looking for it.

My daughter recently had some muffins for a wedding cake. One large and assorted small. They were lovely!! The best were Devils Food and raspberry and coconut. But all were very tasty and looked fabulous. All packed and ready for us to pick up on the Friday before. Outstanding job! I would recommend this wonderful place to any one.

We ordered 3 cakes for a birthday and our wedding. Two of the cakes were eggless and the other was regular. The taste of all the cakes and especially the eggless ones were fantastic! Really really yummy. They were all chocolate cakes. I'm not a huge fan of icing but the icing on these cakes was just so good! We did have some trouble with timely communication but I guess that was down to them being really busy with peak season and moving their bakery. Other than that everything was well done and the staff were really friendly.

Better than famous Primrose Bakery in London! With two friends, we tasted some of their cupcakes (Oreo, salted caramel and banana) and they were all yummy and moist. The flavour was not only coming from the icing, but also from the cake itself.

Coffee & cake for 2: a good choice of cup cakes and others, albeit pricey, and the décor could do with a bit of attention. Friendly service, great background music, strong smell of cupcakes.

I went and bought a few cupcakes yesterday, and the icing has definitely changed for the worse. It tastes awful. The Red Velvet used to have a lovely cream cheese icing on it, now it has what can only be described as cheap, margarine tasting stuff on it. It doesn't even taste like icing at all. Lemon cupcake icing didn't taste like lemon or icing either. All the cupcakes in our box were extremely dry. I'm genuinely so disappointed! The quality has drastically lowered. I probably won't be returning :-(

On a diet? don't go! I've hardly ever seen such a tempting display of cakes. Loved watching the staff in the kitchen ice the cakes. Good coffee and charming service.

found this place by chance a small cafe we found a seat at the window surrounded by empty cups and plates i ordered a coffee and walnut muffin and a piece of victoria sponge and a cup of coffee all this came to nearly £9 muffin was tiny compared to the ones i get at home they are much bigger and cheaper and .I dont think i will come back here .

Gluten free through to downright naughty. Their cupcakes are truly heavenly, then there're the cakes (more specifically their lemon drizzle), freshly baked sweet perfection.

I come here at least every two weeks during my uni semester to buy a best friend brownie or one of many different cup cakes I have yet to try! It is pricey, but t pays off as I can feel that it was made with love and care. It is a small space, but a local business and I prefer going to such places rather than big brand supermarkets to get a baked good. Maybe a student discount could be available? Hehe, overall I love this bakery :)

Such a lovely place. Went in at short notice for birthday cupcakes, they wrote messages on cakes while I waited and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly! Very reasonable prices for such yummy and beautiful cakes. Would highly recommend.

You can't go wrong with the giant cupcake. I bought a Red Velvet giant cupcake as a present and this went down storm. Cream cheese frosting galore. Highly recommended.

God. The chocolate brownies here are amazing. Seriously amazing. You know that moment where you bite into something and get confused for a moment thinking you've just eaten a bit of heaven? No? Well, buy their brownie and you'll understand.

Over priced cakes and coffee. Coffee was not made with any love. Cakes were nice. I'm vegan so had that and was happy with it but far too expensive.

Kann ich nur empfehlen. Nicht ganz billig, aber dafür lecker. Wir haben uns eine Auswahl an Cupcakes gekauft und uns in den nahen Park gesetzt, Das Cafe selbst ist klein und wenn man bleibt zahlt man etwas mehr (normal). Man kann dann noch leckeren Kaffee oder Tee bekommen. Wir waren sehr zufrieden.

I called from Hertfordshire to see if they could make a cake for my mothers 80th birthday. Rosy was friendly, helpful, efficient and arranged delivery to the restaurant. The cake looked fantastic and was moist and delicious

The was a good selection of cake to choose from, but as someone who does a lot of baking and goes to many bakeries I would say that the cake is very average.

Quite a dissapointment since the cupcakes were as dry as sand, the waitress was a moody girl that didnt bring our coffee and cupcakes to our table and worse the cutlery was dirty. Chocolate all over the forks.
