Customer service where is it? Couldn’t be more miserable if they tried. As for the fish and chips the chips were just about edible. Will not be returning and will be going to my usual one on Minehead seafront

The customer Service is awful! They always look so miserable. One of the ladies is always coughing without wearing gloves! The sausage i got miserably served just says it all.. i cannot believe they agreed that this was acceptable to serve to a customer

Very prompt friendly service. We ordered sausage and chips and it arrived quickly, hot and tasty. Would use again.

After reading the poor reviews, I thought why not try it anyway, and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised, the curry sauce tasted like curry sauce as wasn't water down, the fish was cooked well and tasted great, and the chips we're fine, would visit again.

We had a very busy day so decided to treat ourselves to takeaway fish and chips, but unfortunately our favourite place, The Harbour Chippy in Market Street, was closed so we thought we'd try what used to be Andrew's in Liddymore Road. What a mistake! Really expensive - £10 for a tiny piece of cod and chips. And the chips were so anaemic and undercooked - n ot even the seagulls wanted them! Never going there again.

Had cod and chips on Friday evening for the first time and it was nice. However, when I went at lunchtime today the food was virtually inedible. I have never had fish that was tough before and the batter was running with dark brown oil. Yuck! The chips were not fresh. Very unpleasant. Straight in the bin. What a waste of money. Won't take a chance again.

Visiting Watchet for the weekend with family, we had fish and chips, which was cooked while you wait. Lovely crispy batter and a lot of chips. Really enjoyed our meal.

We had fish n chips from here last October after a recommendation, food was ok but very disappointed with the chips - all small bitty ones, and very greasy. Decided to try again tonight as may have just veen unlucky ..... Sadly exactly the same, so wont be making return visit.

since they’ve changed ownership at andrews fish and chip shop it has gone down hill. takes twice as long, overpriced and the staff are so miserable. They need to work on their customer service. chips and cod are very greasy. wouldn’t recommend to anyone. i would rather take the extra 5-10 minute walk to the one down town which i believe is much much better.

Chips tasted like they where reheated! Absolutely vile fish and fish cakes for our children where like biting into rocks. Sorry but we usually have incredible food from here but didn't eat more than 3 mouthfuls. Disappointed to say the least!!!!

we visited while staying at local haven site and certainly didnt go back again two ladies who run it our in the wrong buisness no face 2 face skills and obviously cant cook either our food was a total waste of money

I am a local and haven’t used this chippy for a while, thought we would give it a go and it was disgusting.only bought chips and they were slushy and full of oil. Worst chips I have ever had. We will not be buying from there again.

We have used this Fish and Chip shop many times, while staying nearby. Simple ordering system - you order and pay, they give you a ticket and when it's ready they call out your number - you collect - what could be simpler ! The batter was lovely and crispy and the Fish was a really good size. Chips were perfect too. Maybe some seating outside for waiting customers might be possible though ???? Great value and quick service and YUMMY food - THANK YOU.

New owners staff need customers service training and hearing aids. I have used this shop four times and only once had good service. First time was excellent service and fish & chips. Second time asked if I wanted salt & vinegar, no was my answer. You got it they put it on, I saw this and pointed it out. So I had to wait 20mins for some chips to be cooked. Third time asked for fish & chips, just got chips. I would have to wait for the fish and apparently I didn’t ask for fish. This time salt & vinegar problem again, this time a staff member that wasn’t around at the time I complained. Finished serving me and told me I was rude when I complained. I wasn’t but I will admit loud. Also I am not the sort of person who fills out reviews. I also live nearby so it will be a long trip to another shop for fish supper.

Tried andrews chippy whilst away on holiday. This isn’t our usual chippy as we stick to John’s chippy but food was just about passable with the battered sausage seemed to be a boiled one and then battered we did go before closing time so it could of been that but food was ok

Called in Saturday evening , as we came here last year,, and the food was lovely ,, this time , waited ages to be served,, and when collecting our order way too many chips , the fish was swimming in grease , and the chicken...

Decided on fish and Chips at Andrews following a recommendation. The service was good and the staff very polite however I thought the fish batter was a little greasy. The portions were very large and to be honest one lot between us would have done.

We had a takeaway last night 17 th June from the new owners, it was their first day and we noticed how better the chips were cooked, much more crispier and the fish was huge. Love this Fish takeaway and delighted the new owners have...

Terrible customer service by the moody woman who served me. Miserable as hell and when I pointed out the piece of cod I would like she snapped at me and said you have to eat them in order and was very abusive.

Visited here after reading good reviews, we had to queue for a while and the wait was worth it. Freshly cooked fish and chips were delicious, safety measures were good and the staff were helpful and so friendly. Would recommended this very popular chippy.

On the back street where local goes, that's what we wanted. Got here at half 5 on a Saturday just before the rush. All fishes were freshly fried and big too. Large chips were very large!

Phoned through a big order and went to collect it. Great quality and excellent value for money with friendly staff. Highly recommended

Now reopened. Good portions of cod and chips cooked to order. Nice mushy peas and onion rings. Recommended. Closes at 8pm.

While on holidays by the sea, got to have fish and chips so we bought 4 lots. Btw no card payment accepted. Portions were on a smaller side. Fish was nice. However chips were covered in what I assume is soot looking dots that tends...

We had some fantastic fish and chips here. We called in advance and checked that the batter did not contain dairy and the owners were happy to provide the ingredients of the batter used. Could not fault it!

Thought I would give this a try , don’t think the fish was cod wrong texture, batter was thick and heavy , chips were nice but very disappointing over all. Cod is normally thick and flakey this was more like pollock . Not cheap either...

Visited one evening thinking we would get better quality chips than that of the the Haven site we were staying... We were wrong.Upon arriving back we realised they had messed our order up leaving out food we had purchased, all was going to be okay when realising decent sized portions.... Until we tasted the greasy fish full of batter no cod and bland tasteless chips... Im sure there are nicer places to go. Wouldn't return

We've been getting fish and chips from here for about three years, fairly regularly.At first we were thrilled! We'd discovered a fish and chip shop to equal Admiral Blake's in Bridgwater! The fish was perfect, the batter crispy and tasty, the chips good and the portions were generous.But lately when we get fish and chips from here we know it's going to be hit and miss. On too many occasions the batter is inedible - soggy and thick and uncooked - and it's ended up in the bin. We still continue to go there because on other occasions the batter is once again crispy and delicious. But the last two or three times we've been, it's been yuck!I've given 3 stars overall. When it's good it would get 5 stars, when it's not, it would get 2. But if the batter had been of the soggy kind when we first went there, we wouldn't have gone back for a second try.

Our local chippy use to be great. But the last three times it has not be good. The last time the chips were awful, the fish was watery and I would say under cooked, the batter used to be lovely but it was horrible, thick soggy inedible. Sorry we won’t be coming back for a while.

Best I have had I think. Well cooked and absulutely delicious. There were lots of customers so that is always a good sign.

Ah, we love this fish and chip shop! How difficult it is to find crispy (not slimy - yuck!) batter. This shop gets it right every time! Chips are tasty too, and portions are good. Superb!

Fancied fish and chips at the harbour!!! So read trip advisor and saw Andrews fish and chips was better than the harbour fish and chips. So decided to go Andrews however it’s 10 minute walk!!!!!! Nowhere near the harbour!! We’d decided to walk anyway as people have said how good it is. Well the large portion of chips was the size of a regular I think. The fish was covered in a very oily thick batter.

We enjoyed take away fish and chips from Andrews, eating them along the front in the open air. Beautifully cooked and good value.

Just dropped in for fish and chips for lunch. I wanted haddock which was cooked to order. The quality was very good, portion size generous and price very reasonable. Very clean establishment and good service, highly recommended.

Staying in Watchet, we were recommended Andrews. The chips were lovely and crispy pea fritter very good. My husbands fish and chips excellent.

What a great end to our holiday having chips from Andrews. The fish was beautiful and the size of a whale! The chips were delicious and not light on the portion. I will definitely visit again if I’m in the area.

There is a good menu here and the food is the best for a fish and chip shop in the area. Prices are good too, making this a very popular establishment. The only downside is that queues can be very long and time-consuming.

We were staying at the Hellwell Bay Holiday Park with family, we couldn't wait to get fish & chips from this chippy, highly recommended by our hosts Martin & Angela and we were not disappointed, not greasy nice and crisp and enormous portions, we ate them on a bench at Watchet Football club and then washed them down with some nice ice cold lagers at the club, we come from Blackpool and know some nice local chippy's, I would say Andrews is up there with the best of them, till the next time cheers.

We're here from London on holiday at doniford and I can honestly say that the cod and chips we had would put a lot of London chip shops to shame. I'll definitely be going back before we go home

On Friday night we were in Watchet and needing to eat. as we drove in we saw a sign at the road junction pointing up Liddymore road to a fish and chip shop and decided to try it.

I have been coming to this Fish &Chip; for years never had a bad meal they have a very varied menu and it is always fresh, it taste a lot better eating it from the crease proof paper. Andrew and his Wife are very polite and quick to serve what more do you want there place is spick and span lovely food for modest prices.

Great fish and chip shop, friendly staff and great fish and chips. Being from the South Coast of England, these prices were amazingly reasonable, a nice change! Highly recommended!

I love this chippy! I come here often as I'm local, usually on a Thursday lunchtime just for myself, but last week I came on a busy Friday teatime to treat myself and my kids. I must say they do the best fish 'n' chips in watchet (I avoid the down town chippy because I personally find it awful, portion sizes small and way WAY overpriced! But I do prefer their curry sauce to Andrews...but not enough to be tempted to pay their prices again) Go to Andrews instead! Their chips are fresh and perfect chippy chips! Not dry and over cooked. In the past we've had lots of things, but can't comment on everything in their menu, I do know their battered cod, battered sausages, fishcakes, normal sausages, scampi bites, onion rings, beef burger with salad and relish..and of course their chips are all amazing! The portion sizes are actually better than reasonable (that's in comparison to the down town one though) I've not ventured anywhere else for fish and chips.....yet! It does get very busy on the usual days such as Fridays and Saturdays but that's to be expected in a small town in a seemingly popular chip shop. There's a notice board which states to ask for certain things on entry which takes longer to cook, so that it's ready for you when ordering at the till which is very convenient if there's a big queue. My friend ordered from them last September for a cheap wedding lunch (booked in advance, 50+ fish and chips in cartons) they had someone deliver them all on a busy Saturday lunchtime! Absolutely brilliant couple who work for themselves and do a great job!! They are shut on Sundays and Mondays.

We are locals (relatively) and we litterally do a 8 mile round trip just to eat from here regularly. Passing at least 3 other chip shops on the way. Great service great prices and the cod is oh soooooo nice ! Perfect 5*

Only complaint is that one cod was rushed out of the fryer into the paper, which lead to the batter sticking to the paper and difficult to serve /eat. Otherwise very good fish and chips.

Have had take away here often when staying near watched.always very good we recommend it to all our friends and family when they stay in our van. Well worth a visit.

This fish and chip shop we always visit when we're on our holiday at Donniford the fish and chips are amazing and the cost is so unbelievably cheap we fed four adults and two children four just over £20 pounds . Four cod 2 large chips 2 sausages . A pea fritter . One curry sauce and two mushy peas . This fish and chip shop is a must .

Freshly cooked food which is always piping hot. The shop is clean and tidy and the welcome is always friendly. A good range of food and not over priced. The couple that run the shop work well to get you served as quickly as possible. I have recommended this fish & chip shop to many of my friends and they have returned numerous times. Closed on a Monday by the way.

Best fish and chips I have had I a long while. All freshly cooked and the fish was excellent - white and flaky in a scrummy light batter.

We are regular customers at this fish and chip shop, lovely people and lovely food. The portions are a good size and overall very good.

Well we are from Grimsby so have high expectations of fish and am not overly impressed the haddock was out of the freezer and not very big!!!we like at least 1lb fish fillets so a bit on the fussy side but the chips were good. A bit on the expensive side for what we had. Next time we visit the area we will bring some big northern stuff and have them fry it cause can't knock the batter.

After travelling through the recent appalling weather to visit the in law's we thought we'd treat ourselves to fish & chips. It was reasonably priced, very good quality and generous sized portions, what more could you want? I would definitely go there again.

Looking at the reviews it seems we visited on a bad day.We ordered fish & chips twice and it was packed nicely, hot and relatively inexpensive. However the fish itself was pretty tasteless and similar to the ones you get in Morrisons restaurant which I've never much cared for personally.As it is, it seems I'm the only one that's had this experience so I might give it another shot next summer when we return and fingers crossed I can place a better review then

I live in watchet and this fish and chip shop is great they gave a great selevtion of great food & they have a good rating! I recomend it to anyone and everyone because it is perfect food for all ages. Athough sometimes you have to wait a while if the line is out the door & it usally is because it is so good:)

Staying at Doniford Bay, the restaurant there was terrible so we were forced to look elsewhere for food. Passed this fish and chip shop and decided to give it a try. The batter was crisp, the fish was fresh and no grease on the chips. Perfect and traditional, just what I like! Cod and Chips for under a fiver too, wonderful. Will definitely go back as only a short trip from our caravan park

For anyone wanting to go here the chip shop is closed every Monday all day. We enjoyed the chips here and would recommend for sure the chips were fresh and there was a queue but worth the wait the portions are quite big too

Got fish n chips, burgers and onion rings. The burgers were enjoyed and the batter on the cod was still crispy and lovely after 15 minutes in the car on the way back to our campsite. The cod was chunky and delicious. We'd go here again!

This is a small but great place to get your fish and chips, but of all its real 100% cod, have been going here for over 2 years and have never had bad fish and chips from here.

You don't want to join the holiday makers and get them from the town centre, Liddymore Road and Andrews is the place to go, that's where the locals go and never ever disappointed.

Well worth the trip from Bridgwater to buy & then eat on the quay only some 500 metres away. Mid loin cod as well for a very good price! Well done.

Wanted an easy meal for our last night in Watchet. Asked around about the best place for fish and chips. Told to go to Andrews Fish and Chips. Brilliant take away, The fish was fried fresh and chips were just how I like them. Not in the main part of town, but worth the journey.

I have been staying at a Farmhouse B and B in Brompton Ralph for a few years now and EVERY time without fail I go to Andrew's to get a fish supper. The fish is superbly cooked and is accompanied by beautiful golden chips. Even if there is a queue the ladies sort it swiftly so the wait is never very long. In fact I will be going there again tonight - lucky me!

We were staying at Haven Doniford Bay and could have quite easily have purchased Fish & Chips from them but we went out of our way to drive to you after a recommendation. For us, it beat the meal we had at the famous Magpie in Whitby. Will definitely be coming back to you.

Great little chippy worth the wait and that can be a while. Lovely fluffy chips and batter is nice. Service 100% only wish they did pukka pies.
