Anderson's Restaurant in Highland

As always such a good meal. Food amazing! Bruschetta, pizza & tartiflette absolutely banging! Can’t recommend enough. A local gem that is great value for money.

Menu looked great for January on facebook and a great price for 2/3 courses .booked a table for 5 but unfortunately only 4 managed to attend. we were greeted and seated by a lovely girl, Chloe, who was very helpful and pleasant throughout our evening. Unfortunately the menu advertised for January was not quite the menu we received ( I know January is a long month for everyone) on questioning that, we were told that it changes weekly which is unfortunate as this wasn’t stated in there advertising .. as I had my heart set on the chicken stuffed with black pudding wrapped in bacon .. however I did have the beef pie which was nice ( but it wasn’t the chicken that I had been so looking forward to ). The fish pie that some of the party had was nice but was slightly over powered by the topping.. the tartiflette was very tasty and all dishes were a good sized. The portion of Parmesan and truffle fries were a great size portion also … so much so we couldn’t manage dessert. So I will say as much as I was disappointed no chicken I will return as service and value for money for the two courses well worth it.

We always try to fit in an evening at Anderson’s on the last night of our new year holiday and this year was a fitting end to a wonderful week! We shared a delicious starter of chorizo, mushrooms and prawns and then my fish pie was absolutely gorgeous. Hubby loved his steak and red wine pie and we managed to share a gorgeous chocolate pudding to round off a fantastic evening. Can’t wait to come back next year!

Had a very good meal in a very friendly restaurant. Menu is has a good variety of dishes, a good mix of cooked dishes and pizza. Deserts are delicious.

Been in the area for four days and this restaurant is by far the best , the service was faultless. We were very impressed with Anderson's restaurant. The menu is excellent and all dishes freshly cooked. You are greeted with a warm welcome and they made us feel like regular diners even though it was our first visit. The food was delicious and the service superb. Gisteravond uit eten bij Andersons in Boat of Garten. Zoals gewoonlijk was het eten er uitstekend. Bij reservatie werd gevraagd cash te betalen. Wij waren heg hier volledig mee eens om voor de hand liggende redenen. De manier waarop de manager echter kam afrekenen was zeer onbeleefd. Het geld werd van tafel gegraaid en we kregen bij het verlaten van de zaak zelfs geen goeiedag meer! Zeer jammer voor een zaak waar we elk jaar terugkeren vanwege de uitstekende keuken!

Excellent repas et lieu accueillant. Très bon whisky. Nous avons apprécié l’ambiance et surtout les produits frais dans nos assiettes.

What a wonderful restaurant in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park! Full of charm and atmosphere and excellent service from kind and knowledgeable staff. Menu is packed with goodies mostly locally sourced and is a match for any chic urban eatery. Beautifully cooked and presented. Superb wine cellar too I noted. Obviously the best restaurant for miles around. All good.

Anderson's was recommended to us and we were glad we had booked. We had olives to start and they were warmed up, which was new to us, and they were delicious. I had the pie and my husband the belly of pork - both were delicious. As we had walked over 10 miles that day, we thought we could justify dessert - ice cream and sticky toffee pudding - which was again delicious. The food was excellent, the service efficient. Recommended overall.

Our visit to Anderson’s was very dissatisfying. Only one red wine available and limited food menu. Steak over cooked and extremely overpriced. Staff in a hurry during our visit and no care or attention given.

Absolutely fabulous place, lovely relaxed atmosphere. We had pizzas which were excellent with plenty of toppings. The rest of the menu looked really good and home made. Definitely be going back.

Meandering through the delightful Boat of Garten, we stumbled upon Andersons, which we knew from its' pizza element, previously housed in Grantown. Open on a Sunday afternoon, only for Mothers Day, we booked a table, set off for a walk and 2 hours later, received an enthusiastic welcome, something many other Cafe/Restaurants could learn from. What a splendid menu. Ticks so many boxes and that's without the accompanying exhaustive, inventive array of homemade pizzas. We shared a tartiflette. Oh man, flavoursome, unctuous and downright delicious. Triple yum. We could then have plumped for the spectacularly plated Sunday roasts that were leaving the kitchen, but instead went for pizza, as we'd never had the opportunity to devour the sourdough, neapolitan base 12" beauties that we'd only seen in pictures before. Oh my...soooo good. Killer thin perfectly cooked base, with a variety of tasty toppings (we had The Black Pig and The White Beastie) that were just slowly savoured and nary a crumb left. In short, a triumph. I declare Boat residents to be some of the most fortunate foodies for miles in any direction. Andersons is a wee gem of a place. If you're anywhere in the vicinity, offer them your full support...you will not be sorry...

This was our first visit since 2021 when we had an awful experience. Thankfully Anderson’s is back on track and we ( a group of 7 on last night of our Scottish holiday) all enjoyed our meal. My fish pie and mash on the side was delicious and the rest had a variety of pizzas. A great way to finish a wonderful holiday and look forward to coming back soon.

Fantastic meal last night. I dined with five friends and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. One friend commented that her risotto was the best she had ever had and she has travelled widely all over the world. Thank you Anderson’s. Steve’s cooking is really wonderful and Sean is brilliant front of house. So happy to see Anderson’s back to how it used to be pre-Covid. We will be back

We love Andersons and always make an effort to visit when staying nearby. You should too: it's worth travelling from Aviemore, Glenmore or further afield to this really good restaraunt. Last night we ate sourdough pizza with delicious toppings, but were tempted by so many other things on the menu: the fish pie, venison with mash, tthe spicy squash and chick pea stew...We know from past experience that they would all have been seriously good, prepared by chefs who really know and care about good food. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the decor fab: red walls, great artwork and a giant fork and spoon on the wall which I had to photograph for my daughter, who believes Andersons is ready to serve giants too. Do visit: this is the best restaurant we know of in this area!

Lovely food spoiled by the attitude of the staff. Booked a table which it states on the booking app you have for two hours. After our main course we were the only guests left. When we asked for 5 mins to think about dessert it was obvious to us that the staff were not happy about this. Lots of eye rolling and non verbal gestures. We felt really unwelcome at this point. Staff obviously wanted to close up and go home. Spoiled what should have been a nice evening.

Ordered online, very easy to do. Selected pickup time online and pizzas were ready to collect at the exact time promised. Pizzas were stonebaked and hot as they straight out the oven. Very tasty and we’d eat there again in ever back in the area.

Booked for the Friday night, was greeted by a friendly hostess and showed to our table. Water was provided and our drink order taken and given menus. The Mrs opted for one of their wood fired pizzas and I had the shin of beef pie, followed by a chocolate fondant with berries and homemade ice cream. All were delicious. The service , food and ambiance was first class. Well worth a visit. PS , one small criticism. Could do with larger red wine glasses so when you order a large glass of wine you can still give it a swirl about to get the bouquet of the wine. Thanks to Steven and the team. Andy and Linda.

Can't rate the quality of the food or service because we were turned away at the door for our reservation. I called several hours ahead for a same day reservation. Was told they could take me at 7:45. We drove 20 minutes to get there from Aviemore to be told they thought I said Sunday which was the next day. I explained I was not going to be in town the next day so that was not possible, that I had asked for an reservation that night. They said they did not have room for me and turned me away. I asked for recommendations to another restaurant and they sent me back to Aviemore where I am staying. No clue if I will get in anywhere at this point but will definitely be eating late. Advice to the restaurant, if you make a mistake own it and fix it!

We were excited to go and wanted to come back to try all their pizzas, but the staff behind the counter was so incredibly rude and disdainful towards us. Our last dish he practically threw down onto the table. If I was the owner I would not be impressed to know my staff acts that way when I’m not there — they lost a weeks worth of orders from us.

Eating at Anderson's is akin to a meal in any good local restaurant in a food area in Europe. The staff are as good as is the food - warm, friendly and knowledgeable. We ate there on two occasions within a fortnight and the food was beautifully cooked; cod on the first visit was fresh and flakey with a good spice sauce; on the second visit, my venison was melt in the mouth and the sauce delicious. My wife's calves' liver was perfectly cooked. This is a gem. If you're looking for a relaxed, evening with absolutely delicious food, this is it! The wine list may be a little limited for some but it's been well chosen to cater for most tastes.

An excellent meal, good service. A good atmosphere. The churro dessert was particularly delectable. A touch of quality!

Staying in Boat of Garten we were recommended Anderson’s as a local place to eat. We weren’t disappointed. Friendly, relaxed restaurant. Food was fresh and very tasty. I had a wood fired pizza, my other half had a ribeye steak. Both delicious. Would recommend the ice cream too.

They.place has a very good ordering system over the internet. The number of different pizzas is limited. The pizzas are very good and tasty. There could be more topping (quantity) on the pizza. The black pudding was rather hard to spot. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We would order again.

Heard great things from family, so had to visit... Wow were they right! Great ambience, attentive staff, and if I had to focus on just a few details, well, the white anchovy nibbles (Think fish and chips meets salt and vinegar crisps! A winner) Pizzas perfect. Prices amazingly affordable for the quality of the experience and the Cod, OMG the Cod... I'm old and have loved cooking fish all my life. I wish I could cook it as well as Mr Anderson can. Faultless.

We visited Anderson’s whilst staying in Aviemore, a short drive for excellent food! Parking is in the church car park across the road. We both ordered a pizza and shared fries, the fries would easily feed 4! We had the black pig pizza and the white beastie - both were just amazing, in particular the white beastie was a nice change having a white base. Seriously 10/10 pizzas!

A gem of a place. We dropped in by chance seeking to avoid the crowds of Aviemore and we were really impressed by the fresh and flavourful food. Great to see such places in the Highland’s which not so long ago was a desert for foodies.
