Excellent food. Each curry is unique unlike other restaurants. I love the porotta here. Lovely n fresh. Best to eat in. I had beef curry. Prawn masala. Sambar. Rice. I had a good time. Around £20pp. Highly recommend. It’s a shame it’s a small restaurant. It’s not wheelchair accessible.

It's an average Kerala restaurant. Service is not that great and their hospitality is poor. Pricing is little higher end while compare to the quality of food.

Last night my friend from London bought an " Avoli Pollichathu " with Kerala Perotta from this Restuarent. I live 4hrs away from the location of the Restuarent. My friend brought it in a thermal food bag for my brother who came from New Zealand. when we opened it the Aroma smell filled my dining room and we all really enjoyed it. My brother even called the restuarent and appreciated the taste of the fish and softness of the perotta. Looking forward to visit the Restuarent soon. Thank you Ananthapuram.

he comido y he recibido comida de este lugar.

I have been to Ananthapuran restaurant in East Ham plenty of times. The location is very convenient - just a minute’s walk from the East Ham Underground station. The ambience, decor and service are very average - nothing to write about. However, what this place lacks in ambience and decor, it makes up by serving authentic tasty and spicy South Indian delicacies. The prices are quite reasonable as well. I am a big fan of their fish pollichathu - it usually takes around 25-30 minutes to prepare, but it is definitely worth the wait. Definitely recommend this place to couples and families, provided you are looking for good food at reasonable prices, and not looking for a posh place to dine.

I went recently with a friend from Kerala and both of us really enjoyed a starter dosa, mango lassi, porotta, appam and chicken 65. But a bit disappointed with the aviyal and ananthapuri... but lots of other dishes to choose from. Lots of Keralites were eating here, so Ananthapuram are clearly getting something right!

Not very good food we ordered vegetable puddu kottu but we have received rava or idly kottu. We didn’t eat at all . Total waste of money

Excellent, authentic, spicy Kerala cuisine, including generous seafood spread. Located almost opposite to East Ham Tube station on the High Street; the best chance of parking is on the adjacent streets. Service reasonably quick; but seating is limited and ambiance average. But food makes up for this to a good extend.

I traveled to London as a tourist and wanted to experience the taste of South Indian food other than the usual and generic Indian restaurant menus. And being a Keralite, I ditched the idea of going to the Saravana Bhavans and Udupis to get a taste of the authentic Kerala food and I wasn't disappointed by choosing Ananthapuram! The food is good and comes cheap and I am sure the folks from Kerala will find it a blessing to have one of these restaurants out there. And lovely flakes on the Kerala Porotta....the chef does knows how to make an authentic KP! And looks like the beef fry that my wife had was also top notch. Overall, I would say that the restaurant is worth a try if you want to taste some part of Kerala and especially folks from south of Kerala

Went there for tea and cutlets, something we would have in Kerala in our college days if we have more that Rs.30 in our pocket. The tea was lovely and the cutlets were ok. For a very small order they took forever but maybe making it fresh took time so that's forgiven. We thought we might as well order some takeaway too, which we did. After this we see that garbage was being moved in bin bags right through the front, now that can't be right. And then we have the cashier and the chef arguing about dirt under the chef's feet. Oh well! The takeaway was alright, the food is not that expensive, the orders are late, the staff was polite and the restaurant looks worn down...go figure!

We have been to this restaurant twice now. We are from Kent but visit the Murugan temple in East Ham and always wanted to find somewhere to eat in the area. The restaurant is quite basic in terms of decor but very clean. The service is very friendly and polite. The food here is very......very good. Great variety of kerala feasts, seafood is the regions speciality so go for them. Portions are very generous and the value is awesome. Will be coming back here everytime we fancy a meal in the area. The food is amazing! The reason i have not given you full 5 stars is only because of the basic decor withing the restaurant. Guys go give these guys a go, great food, friendly service. A big thumbs up from me, well done!

A friend originally from Kerala recommended this restaurant and we were not disappointed. The restaurant itself is quite small, but the food and service were great. We indulged in Dosas, and I had a most delicious fish molly! Would recommend to anyone that like south-Indian food. Beware, is authentic cuisine, so it can be a bit hot. They have a small selection of beers and spirits. The quality of the food is great, and the price is more than fair. I cannot believe this restaurant wasn’t listed on Tripdavisor. Very tempted to not say anything so that this place can remain a gem!

Naans are not fresh. They look like the one bought from Tesco or other stores and just reheats them as fresh Naan bread are not that soggy and fluffy unless you mix lot of yeast in them as it sounds with the one at this place. They are certainly not made at fresh. Customers want taste and freshness and you can’t compensate this with the size.
