Very decent place to grab a bite on Green Street. Hope they continue to maintain the standard after change in ownership.

This place needs to be revamped. It's boring and dull. In other words not inviting at all. I went because my husband is vegetarian. I was just waiting to get out of that place. There were insects flying around and the place needs to be disinfected. The menus are filthy and in need of new ones. I told my husband I would be going there again. Cheap and filthy.

UNDERCOOK CHICKPEAS, I am a pregnant woman we ordered takeaway three small things and it took 1 hour for them to bring us, and once the food arrived it was horrible undercook bhatorey and chanay, I have stomach bug .. TERRIBLE FOOD

Really tasty food but service was pretty poor. Really need to work on this. The lock in the ladies toilet wasn’t working and there wasn’t any hand soap either.

If u don’t how how to make masala dosa then don’t serve it please dosa with potato stuffing is without any salt and sambar is like water .

Not as good as once was. The chana were watery and bhatura was not soft. Overcooked. It's a shame as used to love going here.

I went there today(23rd June 2024) with my family members.I ordered food for 5 persons.Food quality was horrible,specially the veg noodles & masala dry chips.the worst noodles chips I have ever had in my lifetime so far.Full waste of money.They just spoiled our lunch.

Had the chole bhataure, Chaiwalla special chaat, masala dosa and the masala tea. Really tasty, not oily and good portion size! Very happy that this place still serves a high quality of food, service is ok, but as long as the food is good..you can't complain! 😀

Good food, reasonably priced and has a corner in the restaurant for takeaway snacks.

A staple of Green St. Pure vegetarian. Consistently good food (chats, cholay pathoora, puris, thalis, mogo etc.). A great option. Although the owner should smile a bit. Don't think I've ever seen him do this ever.

Lovely food but slow service .. we ordered tea with our meal and had to remind them to bring it out

The Shikhand was not beaten until the sugar was dissolved, unusual texture of lumps not beaten until smooth I would think it was rushed. Also found more chilli in the Bhajya when ordered first time it was just right but this time very hot cannot taste the lovely chutney. It's all about making it better than it is. Time to get back on track again, as for big occasions no one likes hot chilli bhajyas that blows your mouth open to have anything to cool it and Shikhand to beaten until no lumps.

Food quality was very high. Tasty food at reasonable prices. Good for families and small groups.

I ordered my different foods for 12:35 they take orders 12 mid day and fantastically prepared and delivered 3 minutes early! No complaints from me for sure! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙏🙏👌👌

The dahl tasted just like my Gujarati aunt used to make it.. can't have a higher compliment than that! The chilli mogo (in my photo) was also great as were the thalis. My tip: go for the deluxe thali as you get a lot more food than the Gujarati one, and it's not much more expensive.

There is no sorry that my food was delivered early, as there is nothing wrong in it to be delivered early. My thoughts are my beloved Brothers were thinking of me at heart period and even if it came on time, it is fine with me as well. For me is the quality and freshness of food must be excellent and as always have done a fantastic job.👌👌.

I've been here many times over the last 20 years but on this occasion the service was very very poor. Firstly the waiter seated us near the toilets and ignored us for 15 mins. I had to get up and walk over to get someone's attention for placing an order. We then had to wait another 40 mins for the food to arrive and even then,one person was missing his plain Dosa order. Had to flag this again and when the Dosa finally arrived, it was cold and stale. It seems like it was made earlier and forgotten. We also didn't receive the tea we ordered and this arrived after everyone had finished eating their food. There was not even any water in the jug when we were seated. I complained when we were leaving and the Dosa was not charged l. They apologised but blamed new and lack of staff but it should not be an excuse for poor basic customer service. Will never return here again.

Had the Punjabi Thali which is enough for two people - had more of a South Indian than Punjabi taste. Aloo Papdi Chaat was fantastic! Dry Chilli Paneer cooked lovely but bland in flavours. The Onion & Tomato Uttapam was extremely bland, sambar was far too watery with no flavours however the coconut chutney was nice. Definitely had a ‘school canteen’ feel and far too expensive for average food. Won’t be coming back here anytime soon and if I do, it will be for starters only.

We ordered 3 masala dosa,1 pani puri,the taste of masala dosa was awful, i think that was worse masala dosa i ever had in my life and 1 lime soda salted charged 5.50 That is really a high price

We've come here for years and they're a no-fuss restaurant serving consistently excellent food. The chole bhatura and samosas are family favourites. The prices have gone up quite a lot post pandemic (as with every other restaurant) but it's still worth eating here, especially if you compare it to a 'local Indian restaurant'. The service is well meaning but varies in terms of speed. Today, we had to flag down a waiter to take our order even though they weren't busy, but the food came super fast; it is often the other way around (quick to order and longer for food) but it's still a pretty quick turn around.

This is the worst restaurant I have ever eaten in. The staff do not smile or engage, feels like their personality has been stripped away. Cleanliness does not appear on the menu, ask for extra cutlery and it’s like we asking for the moon. And then the main part, the food. Being an extremely good cook, makes me question what the customers actually taste because there isn’t any! The food is tasteless, the seasoning doesn’t exist and the presentation is shocking. I have had tastier food that’s 3 days old. I mentioned that the chilli paneer was not tasting right - the response I received was I’ll let the cook know. No apology no nothing. Not only did waste our time queuing and waiting, but we wasted our money on rubbish cuisine. The best thing to improve is to get new cooks and staff and send them on a course on hospitality or just close the restaurant and go somewhere else to eat. The worst I have ever experienced!!!

I've ordered again! Love the food and the owner and the staff members who prepare our food!. They do cater for our needs so lovingly as health and religious practice is number One for us. You get FRESH FOOD you know you can eat it the next day as well! 🙌🏻🙌🏻♥️♥️🙏🏻🙏🏻👌🏻👌🏻

I’m not normally one that chooses vegetarian food but this was delicious and reasonably priced. Don’t let the thali size fool you I was stuffed!!

The place is nice for grabbing a bite to eat. It is kid friendly, has high chairs etc. Tends to be busy. The food is decent but not awesome. The chaats all use the same chutneys and it is a bit difficult to distinguish one type of chaat from the other and the poori sabji was so so only. Chole was not that good and pooris were a bit oily.

Food here is always really good, and great value. The chili paneer is a must 😁

Yes, I called them the day before so that they can cater for our needs in advance so please do the same and write it in the comment box it will help them. In regards to lateness, totally understand why the food was slightly late due to Thames Water and the work going in every direction, otherwise, would have made it on time. Thank you to the lovely staff member, we very much enjoyed every mouthful of all the food you made for us so lovingly 🙏🏻❤️

Ordered food through Uber eats. Quantity was really less for the price and they added service charge even though it was take away . Taste of the food was average.

Food: Food is tasty and fresh. Waiting time for food is short. Simple vegetarian dishes on the menu. Price is average. Cleanliness: the restaurant is very clean and tidy. Service: the waiting staff are a little curt but they are efficient. A small hello would go a long way. Decor: the restaurant has an austere appearance like a school canteen.

Please do not eat in this restaurant. Hygiene is the big issue , we got human nail in our food. When we show it they try to blame on high wind and bad weather. They made us to pay for the food. Service is very poor. Guy on the till is very very rude. He has no skill for customer service.

Driver took too long to collect food. I phoned restaurant and they informed me food is ready but driver is talking on phone outside and not coming inside restaurant to pick up order.

Over priced and small portion size, the chilli paneer was just fried bland paneer, it was not marinated in anything, just plain paneer. Awful. The bhajiyas came in a small burger box and I was charged £8 for one box. Rip off.

This place has gone so down hill, it used to be good. The food is of poor quality, now very over priced, over a 50% increase in just a year and the service is just appalling. I suppose they can charge what they want as they are in a prime location, casual customers don’t read reviews and the restaurant simply doesn’t care of feedback as a result. There are better choices. Be wise, choose different so they realise how bad it’s become.

This restaurant was a very bad experience after 5/6 years since my last visit. The food was terrible and OVER PRICED. You don't get the quality for your money. Their chaat is so over priced but I would rather eat it from one of the independent stalls on green st as their Chawal chaat was terrible. Cholay batura was very unpleasant and tasteless. We did tell this to the cashier who didn't seem to care. Masala dosa was average again over priced. Not going ever again

Hier hebben we karak chai (sterke thee) gedronken . Was best druk . Daarom alleen thee gehaald . Eten zag er wel lkkr uit. Door tijd gebrek hebben we geen eten besteld.

I’m prepared to travel more than one hour on the tube (it’s at the other end of the District line from where I get on in West London) to eat this tasty South Indian style food. The dhai potato poori is always so delicious as a starter and then I enjoy one of the 3 thalis on the menu. Looking forward to my next visit!

Can’t cook aloo parata properly and thick , I think they got a new chef and the on the phone I complained and they said not to order next time aloo paratha , never again 😂 can’t even acknowledge good feedback from a regularly customer. Please don’t order, you will not like it and won’t be refunded if you don’t like it

I ordered and paid for a masala dosa, but that what was delivered !

I ordered a takeaway and they said it’ll take 20 mins but it took 5 45 mins to come. And they let saying it’ll come in 1 mins, for around 40 mins. Also if you wait a long time they don’t let you sit down to wait, so if you re old ask them to give you a chair. Also if you’re sitting in I noticed they take a long time to get the food to you too. An old lady had to sit on her shopping to wait.

I heard a lot about this place but it didn’t live up to my expectations. Very pricey and the Taali I tried was average but nothing special.

The service was fast, but food was below average. The aloo tiki chaat was cold inside. The dabeli came with no chutney, but instead a bottle of ketchup which is odd. The 'spicy' chili paneer (gravy version) was bland with no spice.

Food was very sweat not too good. Even the panipuri was sweat, I don’t know hut it ia jot up to that level. The service was quick though .

Me and my wife visited this restaurant on a Tuesday afternoon. It wasn’t busy and service was very good. We had Pani Poori which was just average and also had chilly paneer (Dry). This dish tipped the edge for us. The paneer looked like it wasn’t cooked enough and the vegetables (capsicum) lacked texture and was soggy to look at. Probably straight out of the freezer. We didn’t order the main, but paid our bill and left, promising ourselves never to set foot in this place again !!

The service was very poor, it wasn't friendly whatsoever, also very expensive and the food especially the dhosa was dry and cold .

If you only visit for a takeaway samosa you'll be very happy

This is one of the most famous and long standing vegetarian restaurants in Green Street. The restaurant itself is basic, but it has a charm. They constantly play old 70s Bollywood music everytime I go there, but I think that's part of the nostalgia feel they are going for. Their Chole Bhatura is very tasty and one of their most popular dishes. The food comes out pretty fast too. Don't come here expecting a posh wine and dine. This isn't that place. This is a place if you want to eat great local vegetarian food. Home style. Easily a 4 out of 5.

Very average food with very little taste so extremely bland...noticed a lot of older people in there sp maybe more appealing to them ... not for me andcwont be returning anytime soon!

Nice vegetarian food glad it reopen after lock down. Must try deluxe thali . New update yesterday 2/6/2023 while i was at work my partner bought 2 deluxe thali, guess what my partner and my 2 grand children had severe diarrhoea and vomiting.. Glad I already ate food at work before I got home. We are off with their food and hygiene. Will never go back to that restaurant

The food doesn’t taste the same as it used to. Prices have surged so I’m not sure it’s worth the current taste of the food. Waiting times aren’t too long however so if you’re in need of some quick food it’s ok. There’s plenty of options on Green Street so have a look around and see what’s available. Good toilet and sink facilities.

Great restaurant serving excellent vegetarian and vegan Indian food. Always a pleasure to eat here. It gets very busy at times and you might need to queue for a table but it's worth the wait.

Vegetarian restaurant with traditional South Indian roots. Did enjoy the brunch served here however service was a little off. You have to get up and look for someone who can serve you. Masala tea not so good had better.

Ordered vada chat & samosa chat, the samosa was so soggy, vada was like a dough completely mushy, Both the dishes were very cold & completely cold. Left the food & walked out. Not worth at all. Waste of that time & money.

Was brought here by a work colleague. I had the deluxe Thali I think it was called and the serving was generous enough to share amongst 2 but I had it all to myself. The food was fresh, tasty, decently priced and just a lovely experience. I think lots of locals visit, it’s very family friendly and can get very busy! We had to wait about 10 mins for a table as we did not book beforehand (I am not sure if it’s walk-ins only or you can book). Food wise, highly recommend for vegetarians/veggie lovers alike!

Food wise it was good. Too spicy for our liking but ok. We got dahi bhala chaat, chana bhatura and masala tea. Tea was 100%. Bhaturas were fresh. Interior is very basic to spend some quality time.

After doing alot of research , reading online reviews I decided to try the Chaat of this place. Travelled 15 miles and met nothing but disappointment. The blandest panipuri I've ever tasted, the sweetest imli chutney I've ever had and the most milky flavour -less tea I've ever had. Only positive thing I can point out was the price tag. PS: this place might have better dishes to try but I am definitely not going back or taking any chances.

Disappointed today. The food is normally excellent. We order masala dosa, chilli chips, samosa chaat and chole bhature. I think maybe the chef has changed food not as tasty and portion sizes are much smaller. The best food was the chilli chips!!!

Mum has lost her phone in here. Realised 10 mins after leaving shop. Went back and all staff including manager were unwilling to help as if it's ok that phone was lost on premises. Our guess is waiter has taken phone that's why they won't check CCTV. Manager was so rude and arrogant

Delicious samossa chaat, chili paneer which was of bigger portion size that I expected. Loved the masala tea as well!
