Anand Sweets in Leeds

Very delicious sweets at Anand sweets. I really like this place. They have plenty of sweets varieties. This is an Indian sweet shop. Thus Yiu can get a taste of Indian sweets. One thing to note is that you do not get hot jalebi. If you wish to enjoy hot jalebi, then you may wish to visit nearby sweet shop Yaadgar sweets. The inside space is large but it is partially taken over by the table and chairs. Quite clean inside. Some, spicy snacks portions are also available. No access to a wheelchair.

Bought baklawa with Ice cream it was good, fresh and tasty warmed it up home and smashed it 😋

I ordered Halwa Puri. Halwa 5/5 spot on metha. Puri 1/5. I didn’t like it. Didn’t taste like Puri. Chanay: 2/5

Put a large order in 3 days ago for it to be ready at 4pm. On arrival stated it wasn't ready..absolutely disappointing as I was holding a suprise birthday party

Anands is definitely a gem … vegetarian food at the finest. The Thalis at lunch very popular The samosas are a highlight The green chutney is the best . Highly recommended They also have a branch in Hyde park.

Top quality food always clean and fresh and not greasy. Always visit when in area. Somosas never make it home as the smell is irresistible

Best curry in Leeds. No doubt. Authentic and delicious without any pretensions. Lunchtime thali is just superb and the chana chat is another level good - not to mention lovely service with a smile.

Amazing samosa and gulab jaman.

Worst food packaging for Deliveroo orders... they don't follow the basics around sealing the food properly for delivery orders. It should be a basic rule to seal the food boxes with a cello tape but they dont. Even if they do jn some cases rarely, its not a consistent practice. I have fed it back a few times on the phone too but no change. The staff start arguing or justifying as if only they know better rather than taking the feedback and bringing a change. So disappointing.

Worst kachori chat I ever had😢 Kachori is so tuff and not enough gravy or sauce.

Totally unhygienic place. Even owner is not responding after the incident. Visit other indian restaurant instead of this. Check photographs and then think to visit the place. Even owner is careless that they act like they don't care. Literally we can see scrubbers in food. And the girl behind the counter was calling her self owner's daughter/ owner was not even came outside to check the plates and not even apologise properly like she don't care. Even when I asked for the owner so they said he is busy busy busy so please take his number when I'm calling no one is picking up the call. Horrible businessman. God save leeds 🙏

Poor service and even worse customer service skills Gave us wrong dine in order, missed items ordered when asked the server lady about it, she couldn't understand English, asked to speak to a manager, she asking "what speaking what speaking'!! then ordered sweets for takeaway, they messed up that order, gave wrong sweets which I opened today to find out! called them, a Rude woman answered the phone and hung up when asked to speak the manager, called again and the girl on phone said 'what can we do about wrong order' I can tell you what you should do, stop deceiving customers and learn some service skills. pathetic place

Heard this place is very good so came for a bite to eat, first visit. Food is vegetarian, or at least the ones we had. We went for a mixture of their pakoras and two bowls of their "curry" (more like a sweet and sour dish) but they were all gorgeous. The pakoras were really good, the "curries" had alot of kick to them but were very tasty. Service was very friendly and helpful. Prices were exceptionally reasonable. Definitely a good place to try.

Food is very delicious and cheaper rather than order restaurant. Service is also good.Menu is all vegetarian .

Simple and friendly place with great authentic food. Whenever I am in Leeds I pop in for their £10 special thali which is delicious. Their smoked aubergine curry is sensational.

service has gone down massively!!! a regular goto place for me since I live in the area. placed an order on uber eats. I wanted to add an hot drink since they weren't available online. I called the shop to do so and was thoroughly disappointed with the customer service. I requested the simple add on, and the staff outright refused. Despite my willingness to pay extra, they were inflexible and unaccommodating. This lack of consideration for customer preferences is unacceptable, what if someone with allergies call and want to amend their order. I expected a more customer-friendly approach, especially from a restaurant that claims to value its patrons. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning anytime soon.

Papri chat was terrible, never seen a Puri made with chapati flour Shocking. Samosa chat was no good either. Halwa was good, Took some Food home and everyone at home was sick. Never again

Vine a Anands a almorzar y pedí un Thali. Esto viene con 2 currys, arroz y 2 Bhatura con un poco de encurtido y un pequeño trozo de papadom. Decepcionante ver que sus porciones se han reducido. No había suficiente curry en la bandeja para comer tanto con Bhatura como con el arroz. Tuve que dejar la mitad de Bhatia y arroz ya que no quedaba curry. No siempre fue así. ¿Nueva dirección? Lo pensaría dos veces la próxima vez.

Sabrosa comida vegetariana nos encanta! Como aquí regularmente con mi hijo. Le encanta la charla de samosa y yo tiendo a tomar el thali. Ambos son de gran valor a menos de £ 5. La comida siempre es sabrosa y casi se siente saludable en comparación con el curry de carne. Me encanta y recomendaría a los amantes de un buen curry.

Great traditional Punjabi food at reasonable cost.

The food was amazing. I’ve been served by raj and dev they both are amazing. I been there for my lunch with my friends everything in terms of my expectations superb if you really want to taste authentic Indian food must visit place to have chats and savoury and curry also in must try list.

Avoid this establishment at all costs! Made a large order for ladoo and barfi well in advance (specifically requested they were made fresh on the day of collection) and as the pictures show, upon opening the boxes these were mouldy and inedible the next day (even though they supposedly guarantee freshness for a minimum of 3 days after purchase!). Although they told us these had been freshly made, they clearly hadn’t and they had put old ladoo and barfi in the box. Went back to the store to discuss what had happened and were told they cannot do anything and asked to speak to the owner several times but they refused to show there face and take any ownership of what has happened - appalling customer service.

I always go to the One Hyde Park location; everything is perfect there. However, today we went there, but it was closed. That's why we chose this branch. It's very disappointing - there's no cleanliness, no proper service. Overall, it was a disappointing experience.

I want to -5 star for service bcoz the staff wasted my 50 minutes. Waited 50 minutes after giving order and when I asked them about my order unfortunately the forget about it. The kitchen staff are too unprofessional that the sound of their laughter was continuously reaching the table,may be their conversation were more important than our orders. Same thing happened with the customer sitting before us, he also got up and left without eating. But the owner is a good person who gives salary even without working to his staff.

Great news for fans of this superb Indian restaurant and takeaway, it is now open on Mondays! Over my many years of visiting Anand's, I've occasionally found myself out on the pavement, looking at the shuttered windows, with a hungry belly, and a tear in my eye! Now, it doesn't matter if I get the day wrong anymore, I'll always been able to get something tasty to eat at Anand's. The food is always delicious, and great value, and the service perfect. Love Anand's.

Disappointed with Rasmail absolutely watered down. The lady on counter told me it will stay fresh for 24 hours again disappointed 🙁.

Dont ever go to this store ever , I was eating from this store like 5-6 months now. I had this kachori today. Took 1 bite and felt a bit different as in taste and smell. Ring them even go to show them about this to get it changed but they denied saying this is fresh and eatable dont eat BIG L.

Stupid people. Gave sabji and samosa in paper bag that broke outside their shop. Argued that I should have told her to put the food in polythene bag instead of paper bag and also argued it happened just outside their shop so can't do anything. Retarted should know which food to put in what bag. Terrible customer service. Advise against going there.

Samosa was hot but just Ok. Chai was much in quantity and served in a large glass mug and was just average but much welcoming for the cold. The place is small, cozy and easily accessible as it's located on the main road. Interiors are clean well maintained. Prices are very reasonable.

Bought samosas for the guests in morning and felt like it was a bad choice as the samosas which i already had doubt that were not looking fresh and asked the staff to give me fresh ones please, but i was right it were stale. Really disappointed infront of guests as the restaurant is popular and the only option in the hydepark area. This was the last time i had food from here will never go back.

Hello guys, I am visited here few days ago the food is very delicious and service is very good, the way of talking of the staff is really good and I really thanks to dimple, she is really appreciating and good behaviour, she is very polight and humble in nature. Tasty Indian sweets and samosas!

Food was good. Simple desi food But cleanliness could improve Parking was too difficult to find

They took more than 30 minutes to made 5 paratha’s, the service was too slow it was busy but not that much, people was getting their order before, coming after me . Not at all happy from the service moreover they didnt give 1 paratha after waiting for this much time when we went home we got to see only 4 paratha’s, quite shockable….wow..!!!

This place offers classic Indian sweets and snacks at a reasonable price and the taste is also very good.

Gulab jammun is okay not very sweet. Compared to Ambala sweets I would give them a 5/10. The Davi wads is horrible Samosa chat is okay.

We tasted Indian desserts. We had a very nice young lady who advised us which ones we should taste.

Excellent value for money, their Samosa Chat was delicious and half the price I pay at my local cafe, nice Mango Lassi too. Little disappointed with the Masala Chai, a bit weak and served with milk but maybe that's just how they do it there . Took sweets 'to go' , again very good value . Our table of 8 was served quickly. Plain decoration can be forgiven as the food is the star

The food tastes great but the prices are ever increasing slightly multiple times a year. There is a great selection and the customer facing premises look clean. The staff aren’t over friendly or anything special, no music or chit chat for ambience. Staff don’t engage in friendly conversation otherwise it would be more pleasant with the wait inside the shop with clothes smelling of oil. Air conditioning isn’t so evident to flow properly. Hope the prices whilst currently ok don’t become too steep to stop my custom.

This establishment uses GMO (genetically modified) vegetable oil, because it’s cheap. Was a family run business with love. Now cheap ingredients and staff with little connection with the people they serve. Less about the food and more about money making as each year roles by. Unfortunate for what used to be a fountain of joy in Harehills.

Would not recommend there take out service. Be careful with the food you take home. Spent over £50 on food and bought some filling which costed £1.50 for the gol gapppe and opened that once we got back home. Filling was already gone bad (same day of bringing at home) and had a really foul smell and had no other option but to throw it in a bin. Tried to ring them number of times same day and even next day but no one answered. Quite annoyed as I was not expecting they are going to serve rotten food and felt I was scammed. Went to shop after few days and made a complaint over there. However Anand Sweets response was absolutely awful. They advised they always check before they serve but that was an absolute lie on our face. I told them it is not a matter of money as £1.50 is not going to break my bank but least I was just expecting an apology. But they didn't care what customer feels. To me it was clearly a cheating and on top it was a pathetic and disgraceful behaviour on their behalf. For small amount of profit they won't care if customers would get food poisoning or get ill. Won't be going to Anand Sweets again. Can't trust their rest of the food after such an awful experience.

Amazing samosas! We usually get the thali or dosa alongside mango lassi or chai. Can get busy especially during peak hours! Comfort food

Best Place to get Indian Sweets and Savouries in Leeds. Try their Gulab Jamuns, Barfis, and other chaat Items. Must visit place during Indian Festivals, to get a feeling of home.

Was recommended this place for Indian sweets. Some I liked and then some not to my taste. Staff very polite and helpful. Found service a bit slow, saying it wasn't that busy.

I wasn’t not sure about this place, but it turned out to be a secret gem for vegetarian dinning. Loved the thalli & side dishes.

When I ordered kachori chana chat I found big stone after take a bite .it cause damge my teeth when my wife complained about this problem. Their response is negligible.so disappointed 😞.

Highly underrated, incredible staff, and very delicious food

Very bad and worrying, sold us this morning a mouldy milk sweets and when phoned to warn them, they were pretending they can’t hear and keep passing the phone to different people. Refused to refund to the card it was paid with. I have posted the photos for evidence.

I was in the area - and if Nadiya Hussain can recommend … it was time for another visit! A lovely, helpful and courteous lady took me through everything that was on offer (take home lunch for the family) and then a couple of samosa’s and a chai tea whilst I waited for my daughter. The samosa’s were excellent - and I cannot wait to get home for lunch! It was cold - but the door was constantly busy and it was -4* C outside! I’ll be back whenever I pass through!

Yesterday I bought 2 samosa and gulabjamun talking about samosas it was cooked to perfection. Gulabjamun was great too . Surely visiting next time . Staff was humble.

Hands down the best place for fresh, authentic and affordable Indian food in Leeds though it's gotten more greasy now after a change of ownership (too much oil). Their samosas are delicious, the thali is excellent value for money and the curries are served in a good portion size. They do a large range of vegan options. Above all, the service is of a high standard at this family run eatery - always friendly, smiling and welcoming. We have been loyal customers for a few years now, and long may this continue! Food is usually very good and tasty but the last time we went the parathas were burnt and we were quiet disappointed but the Asian sweets are fantastic very tasty best ever
