Grand Bengal Indian Restaurant in Leeds

Onion rice and samosas were tasty. My husband liked the korma but I thought it was too sweet, and neither of us could taste any garlic on the garlic naan. The bottle of Coke tasted like Panda Pop so I checked the label and it’s from the Czech Republic. They brought us a can of Fanta orange instead of lemon as well.

Again perfect food and great staff. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant. 👌

every time i come here with my mum the food is always brilliant especially the curry’s. the staff are always very welcoming and take care of us. best indian you can go to by far and never disappointes

Spot on curry. As always, ordered the set meal for one x 2 ,(for me and the wife), starter, main and side which is a bargain. Taste was very nice as was the quality. The only thing that let it down for us was the paneer pakora, which wasn't as nice as usual. but still, 5/5. We will be ordering again.

Food arrived on time, driver was friendly and followed instructions, food was piping hot and both of our meals tasted really good and fresh.

lamb masala was more like tomato soup! lamb was nice but the sauce wasn't great. Chapattis were thicker than we're used to. It could be better

Love this place, we just call in without a booking and they have looked after us every time. The food is brilliant, cooked to your taste, 5 stars all day long.

This was our fourth visit and it certainly won't be our last. It was a miserable day out but the restaurant was warm and welcoming. Suhel once again gave us a cheery welcome and was on hand throughout taking our order and checking we had everything we needed. We had the Thursday buffet menu (you chose from the usual menu, king prawns extra as is standard). The food arrived in good time, was hot and every bit as tasty as our previous visits. We love the potato dish they serve you along with the main course. The buffet is also available on Sundays and I would highly recommend everyone to try it. BYOB (2 shops within a few yards) and cash only but there is a till nearby.

We were served by Suhel who was very friendly and professional. The food was excellent with generous portions as we know from previous visits and we always look forward to coming back again!

The delivery time was fine and the food was nice, but the driver was rude. He banged unreasonably loud on the door and was immediately rude when I opened the door and barked at me not to order again if I only order sides. To explain, the order was for one person and I ordered two sides because I really, really craved chickpeas and the two side orders cost 4.50 each, which together is significantly more than the one vegetarian main I would have ordered instead. I also ordered rice and poppadoms to go with it. I could understand if it was less money than if I had ordered the one main, but it wasn't, and it did meet the delivery minimum AND they accepted the order. Other places haven't had an issue with this as I've spent the same money, but I appreciate this doesn't apply to all. But I do advise that in future, if an order is not acceptable to the restaurant, that they decline it rather than accept it and then tell off the customer.

Very good food, it was worth the drive from Leeds

Ordered a chicken madras curry and chips x2, a vegetable korma 1 x nan bread. Order arrived rather quickly, didn’t realise however that i had ordered something from the bushtrucker trail. Found a daddy long legs in the chicken madras! All went in the bin. Will not order from here again.

Found a fly in the curry on the lid. Very disappointed. Couldn’t eat anything.

The rice smelt off, but tasted reasonable. However, the chicken was disgusting. inedible, it was clearly cheap, processed meat which is a crying shame as I have never had an issue previously.

Celebrated a family birthday meal. The staff were chatty, polite and friendly. We all had a different type of curry and everyone of us said it was delicious. The room was lovely and warm and had a lovely ambience about it. We brought our own alcohol as only soft drinks are available. They also do takeaway meals. We will be returning.

Driver was a bit rude regarding my knowledge of cars, as I used it as a reference since I have no door number, I also do not know cars evidently, the driver made me feel like an absolute idiot, great food and I’m sorry I won’t be ordering again.

I've been here several times and have always enjoyed it. This time, unfortunately, it wasn't what I was expecting. The waiter was quite abrupt and seemed to be baffled when we didn't opt for the nights meal deal. He then looked even more baffled when my wife and daughter decided to share a curry rather than have one each. When the order came through, it was wrong. They brought Bombay Aloo potatoes instead of the chips we ordered. When the chips did arrive, most of the curry had been eaten. The same waiter decided to reach over us while we were eating to take a small plate away. I mean, come on...are they that desperate for one small rice plate? I don't expect to be dodging an elbow whilst trying to eat. They then got the bill wrong, charging us for the potatoes we never ordered. Despite them saying these were on the house when they incorrectly arrived. Overall, not a great visit to this usually very good restaurant. Let's hope this is a rare off night.

Best Indian in Leeds. Whether I’m dining in or ordering a takeaway the food is always full of flavour and hot. The staff are lovely and respectful. Thank you Abdul for always delivering my takeaways early and with care.

Thursday and Sunday buffet 12.95 inc starter any excluding prawn or seafood,main side between two and rice or many bread. Been three times now and had a good meal each time.

Fabulous food, prompt delivery, competitive prices. Have also dined in, excellent food and service, would highly recommend.

Been twice now and food was always good and great value on Sundays and Thursdays 12.95 for 3 coarse menu. Hot and tasty pitty more people don't go to this place they deserve it.

Service was great and the food super tasty and fast, the Special Mixed Kebab starter was especially good. It is Bring Your Own alcohol but we stayed on softdrinks which were reasonably priced.

I've ordered from here for years and they never forget any of my order, the food is really nice and they have the friendliest delivery driver. Great takeaway!

We are regular visitors here and that's because the food is 1st class

Really disappointed but the quality of the food recieved. Usually the food from here is excellent however the chicken in all the dishes we ordered were so tough and grisly they were inedible. Hopefully this is a one off but it will make me hesitant from ordering from here again.

We have eaten here a few times, today was our 2nd Christmas day dinner here. We were so happy with last christmas that we booked again for today. The man serving us today was super rude everytime he spoke to us. Very rushed very rude. Food was mediocre compared to other visits. They never brought us the bombay potatoes and he had been so rude we felt uncomfortable to even ask again for them. Honestly will never eat here again after today. Its a shame as we order from them often and eat in regularly too but today is a special day being Christmas day and it was exceptionally bad. Given 3 stars instead of one just because previous visits have been lovely

Place is filthy, check the toilets…. I’d hate to see the kitchen. Starters were ok, but main meal was terrible. Best thing about it was bringing our own drinks.

I have eaten in this restaurant 2 times in last 4 months. The food was amazing. Good size portions service was great . This time i ordered takeaway delivered. The order came wrong to what I ordered. Rice missing, standard chicken not chicken tika , charged for a pickle tray that i told them i didn't want when placing the order. On delivered. The food portion size was small the containers were barely half full . The food was only just warm and it tasted and looked so bland . Reminded me of an asda indian microwave meal .. Lesson learnt. Eat in the restaurant next time . As that is a.good meal

Bhuna a thick dish. Well mine wasn’t. The Bhuna tasted very like the Signature dish which was advertised a thick too but wasn’t. I’ve tried to find a decent curry since leaving Bradford / Huddersfield but have struggled. I won’t use these guys again.

Great food. A lot of effort is put in with their dishes. Would recommend. Especially the biriyani dishes.

Nice relaxed dining. Extensive menu and the food quality is superb. Service is quick and polite and they will cater for whatever you need. We return time after time. It does deals on Thursday and Sunday. It is a take your own alcohol restaurant, soft drinks are available to buy. Can't wait to go back.

Driver complained it was too far to deliver wasn’t worth it!! Didn’t get what I ordered!! I ordered Chicken Korma and received Chicken Balti which was too spicy and had to throw it away what a waste!!

A joke of a restaurant. Food has been delivered over an hour late. It has arrived barely warm at best. Nobody was bothered to contact me about the delay. Delivery driver didn't care about the delay either. Food wasn't bad but it wasn't great either - chips with cheese were thrown into a paper bag and as you can imagine a half of the cheese needed throwing away because it got melted with paper. Won't order again.

Lovely service always. The pickle tray is out of this world and one of the main reasons I return time and time again. We have recently moved to the area and this is the perfect place for Indian food. Lovely food for both dine in & taking out, helpful staff & good atmosphere!

I was very disappointed as although my food was early it was not hot, the tandoori prawns for price were not flavoursome, the onions in it poor quality and the mushrooms under cooked. The tikka paneer was salty and chips with cheese were cold in a bag with very little cheese that was not melted and tasted like they had been fried in some bad oil.

Really good food, as always, delivered early. Will definitely be ordering from them again.

Absolutely disgusted. Ordered at 1930 with an eta of 2020 at 2040 got a message to say driver was on his way (5min drive max) 2100 called restaurant. Very rude operator constantly trying to over talk me. It’s how 2105 and still no food. Absolutely disgraceful. Not only have they lost a valued customer I will never order again.

Ordered at 1950 for 2 people told to collect at 2035, got a txt msg to say it was ready at 2015 sat and waited In restaurant for an hour waiting for order, restaurant had 4 people sat in it, not good enough I’m afraid although the £5 voucher for next time is a bonus I won’t be ordering from here again
