i ordered food for takeaway and i was amazed by the portion and taste of the food. The curry i had , chickpeas was truly an indian dish with right spices. This is the best curry i had among others in leicester, One of the best indian foods served by the restaurant.

I ordered £50 worth of takeaway dishes to be delivered...amazing value and delivered on time and very hot. It would have fed eight people! We found it too salty for our taste and blood pressure; and we found the amount of chilli challenging . The batura and aloo paratha were super and very filling. I hadn't realised Amrit makes Punjabi food and chose it because of the rave reviews. I can see that the cooking is excellent and the meal was really fresh, but it was just too hot and salty for us and our wimpy palettes.

I finally went to Amrit to pick up some lunch for my girlfriend and I. Where I live there is mostly Gujarati food (which I love) so it is nice to try something different. The menu is vast, which is incredible for what is a tiny place and must be a small kitchen. All the dishes are labelled with allergens and they even use vegan yoghurt and cheese. This makes almost every dish accessible. I ordered a soya samosa, aloo tiki, Karela curry and a methi parotha. Whilst the food was being cooked, I had a nice chat with the owner about the history of the place and various food across the city. It took about 20 mins to arrive (a good sign as it was made to order, not veg added to stock sauces). I ate the samosa on the way home, which was beautifully seasoned with fresh green chilli. The curry was stunning and unlike anything I’ve tasted before! Bitter, fiery and addictive. The parotha was packed with methi and not greasy. All of this cost me less than £9 and was enough food for us both to have again the following day. This place is a gem! It has to be tried! Amongst the very best Indian food in the city!

Visited the place for first time after going through a lot of good reviews, well the atmosphere and service is not bad at all but the food was not up to the mark. The level of spices were completely imbalance and ended up no taste of food but a spices to try.

My husband and I decided to stop by Amaravathi Leicester for a quick dinner on a weeknight around 7pm. We were warmly welcomed by the waiter and promptly shown to a table. The restaurant is small but cozy, ideal for small groups, and since it was quiet, we were seated right away without a booking. We were served water and our drink orders were taken immediately. The menu had a good variety of options, and the décor added to the warm and inviting atmosphere. We ordered the poppadom tray, vada (which came with some really tasty chutneys), and a plain dosa. Everything arrived hot and fresh - the dosa in particular was absolutely delicious. You could really tell it was made fresh to order. The service throughout was excellent. The waiter was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. It was also nice to see other customers clearly enjoying their meals, which made the overall atmosphere even more pleasant. One thing to note: there's a minimum spend of £20 if you're paying by card, so it's worth keeping that in mind. Great food, good service, and a comfortable setting. I’d definitely visit again!
