Feels like home to eat here. Also the restaurant was cozy and had a sweet decoration. It was very nice. Great quality tasty food at very affordable prices. Would recommend.

Hidden Gem, staying over for work and craving good food, first and foremost the customer service received this evening by the lovely iona at Amity was above excellent as well as her outstanding knowledge of the dishes. The food was lovely succulent lamb and spinach curry just hit the spot. Well done guys keep up the good work, will definitely pop down again next time I’m staying local.

Waited a while for the takeaway to come out but it was worth it. Best Lamb Dansak I've had for a long time. The other dish was a prawn Jalfrezzi which also got good reviews at home! Thank you.

Outstanding food with friendly and efficient service. I would definitely recommend Amity. They do an extensive range of alcohol free drinks but you can bring your own alcohol or there is an off-licence nearby.

Whenever I come across from N. Ireland to visit my old parents we always drop in or order a takeaway from Amity ‘cause we know we won’t be disappointed. The food is sooo good and the staff very friendly and helpful. I thought they made a mistake with my order, called them about it, they pointed out that I had made the mistake (in deed I had🫣). They provided the food I thought I’d ordered and wouldn’t take my money even though it was MY mistake. Thank you so much Sofian, Wonderful service. Live long and prosper

I was given chicken in my vegetarian meal. Was told I couldn’t get a refund as I paid by card. Giving benefit of doubt (why) had a hair extension in my next meal. Have since been advised this restaurant has been given a one star for food hygiene. Sad but I can see why

We booked a table for 4 adults and two children. They didn’t have a suitable child seat available so I nipped home to bring our own in. They don’t serve alcohol but you can bring your own bottle and they found us an ice container and glasses for our bubbly. Very relaxed atmosphere with background music which we enjoyed. The food and service were excellent. Parking just around the corner less than 100 yards in the council car park is also convenient. We shall return again for sure.

I was in the mood for spicy Indian food, so I chose to try Amity curry house for the first time. As soon as I walked in, the warm and cozy atmosphere let me know that I was in for a treat. I got the veg dhansak and was blown away by how hot and full of flavor it was. The veggies were cooked to perfection, and the lentil curry was fantastic. The service was also great, and the waiter made sure I was loving my meal by checking on me often

The starter was very good but the main course was very average . Meat cooked well but the sauce was salty & could have made better myself . Great service & friendly staff.

We visited Amity for my birthday dinner. This was the first time my 9 year old son tried an Indian restaurant. He was sceptical at first as he’s a picky eater, however, he gained the courage to try a few dishes. He absolutely loved each dish and raved about how the restaurant should be 5 stars. A shout out also to the hilarious young man who was working all alone serving the tables. Your enthusiasm really made our night even more enjoyable. We will definitely be back again. My son has requested his 10th birthday 🎉 arty there. Lol

I ordered a dish and specified I didn’t want chili added, when it arrived (takeaway order) the dish had so much chili I couldn’t eat it! Really disappointed, emailed thevshop but didn’t bother to respond. Such a shame cafe spice closed they were the best!

Another fantastic meal at this beautiful restaurant. From the moment we walked through the door we were greeted by the owner Sultan who is friendly & welcoming. We ate here on a Monday evening & it was still fairly busy. The atmosphere is relaxed, the decor is modern & you can BYO drinks but there is a fully stocked bar also. The waitress came & took our order, she was friendly & polite. We stated with crispy poppadoms & dips, followed by the most amazing hot chilli chicken tikka, mushroom rice, a lamb yogurt curry & side mushroom dish. Everything was hot, fresh & delicious. The food here is always really good & we also love the Sunday Buffet. This restaurant really is up there as one of the best curry houses in Cornwall. Thank you all for a lovely evening & we look forward to returning soon with the rest of the family.

Went for a meal at this beautiful restaurant after getting a takeaway previously. When collecting my food that time I had a vibe I should try eating in. My vibe was right, WOW, what a place to have a meal. I didn't feel rushed like they wanted me to vacate the table, I felt we had the whole night to enjoy our meal. Very rare in todays culture, normally I feel I'm an inconvenience being there, spending my money. The amazing man who served us read the table perfectly. Constant jokes and banter and improved the night for us all. If you make the right decision in attending Amity, your night will be massively improved if you are served by Kami. He had banter, jokes and was charming to a level that can only be appreciated by everyone at the table. The guy is a credit to the business! To top it off, the food was another level. I asked for a vindaloo but was recommended a Tindaloo by Kami, a recommendation which whilst writing this I am still grateful for. The staff of Amity, I appreciate the night we had thanks to you all. Very enjoyable meal, really tasty food but a little let down with the service. The waitresses were friendly but did spend a little too long looking at themselves in the mirrors rather than paying attention to their customers.

My family and my friends family ordered £90 worth of take away. When it arrived the tubs in which the food arrived in were half empty. I called them to explain that I was shocked that one of the dishes was not even half full. They offered to give me extra next time! But I told them I live over 300 miles away and wouldn’t be down for at least a month and may not even have a curry then. So he said “I’ll call you back later and refund the money for one main dish”. I explained that I had no hope that they would call back and he ensured me that he would absolutely call me back. 3 days later and no call. It’s simply the principle of this. Not the money. But 1 the amount of food in the tub wasn’t more than 5 spoons full and 2 I knew they wouldn’t call back. We have a static caravan near here which we use at least once a month and we lend out to friends the rest of the time. I can honestly say I wouldn’t recommend these.

We took advantage of the offer being run through the government of 50% off, the food was excellent 2 minor let downs was i asked the pathia to be mild and it blew my head off , I ate it as the taste was amazing just too hot so I didn't want them to add cream to cool it so I ate it, on the other hand my wifes was far too hot when asked mild so she sent hers back they just added cream but it still tasted good, the kids korma and butter chicken was perfect! We booked a table of four (2 couples) but hadn’t made it specifically clear (nor were we asked) if we were from the same household or in the same ‘bubble’. I called to confirm that we would need either 2 x smaller tables seated adjacent or a 6 seater table so we could socially distance. Our table was booked for 6:30. Staff informed me it was not possible to make changes to the booking as they were fully booked all night. I even asked if it were possible if we came, ate and left within the hour. She said no, she said all tables were occupied all night. This ruined our evening and our only choice was to share the table in 2 sittings, so one couple ate first then left, then another couple ate second. The food was excellent, as always. Only issue here was they forgot the naan bread. We reminded staff of this and they went off to chase but never returned. It was not noticed when we paid so we had to raise this, only then was it taken off bill. Service was appalling. 2 young girls serving. No sign of the manager who is usually there and keeps it running smooth. Covid precautions didn’t seem to be taken seriously. The delivery driver who was in and out constantly wore no mask and no gloves. One waitress was wearing a mask that was only covering her mouth, not her nose (bit like wearing underwear with your willy hanging out). Gloves were worn when serving food, but not taking orders or serving drinks. But what annoyed me the most was that despite being told our table could not be amended And they were fully booked, there were two empty tables all evening which we could have used. They could have accommodated our request, it just seems like they didn’t want to.

We were staying at the Gwel An Mor lodges in Portreath and was looking for a curry house that would deliver. We came across Amity and from the first call the lady was very nice and great communication from the driver. The driver called when he arrived at reception. we visited with friends of which one was vegetarian and at the buffet table asked were the samosas vegetarian?. The reply was sorry no not on this occasion but I will go and cook some for you. True to his word a few minutes later a plate with 4 specially cooked ones were presented. now that is what I call service. as usual all the food was delicious and we all left very happy and very full

I went on Christmas Eve to order a takeaway for the family..my last visit to the restaurant was disappointing from a few years ago so considering a lot of the reviews are good I thought I’d give it another chance...big mistake....there was 5 of us and ordered chicken pathia, rogan josh, chicken tikka masala x2 and a Balti...nan breads and pilau rices. I can honestly say that none of them tasted anything like they were supposed to ..we are regular curry eaters so know how each dish should taste and none of them were even close..in fact I would go as far as saying they were close to inedible ...especially the balti and tikka masala. Tasted really strange...The rogan josh is supposed to be tomato based..there were so many onions it should have been called a dopiaza (even then it wouldn’t taste right) it really isn’t nice at all and cannot believe people leave good reviews on this place... Suffice to say we won’t be back. If I could leave zero stars I would...waste of nearly 60 quid ...

Live not far away but had never been in. Busy. Atmosphere lively. Surrounds and decor - cheap and cheerful. Unexpected buffet night. We all ordered from menu. Main man lovely and helpful. Wee waitress super. After a 20 minute wait (despite busyness) all mains and veg courses arrived within a minute or so. Food terrific. Lovely flavours and piping hot. Veggie Balti the best. Unfortunately this was the worse customer experience I have ever witnessed! We arrived at the restaurant for a 21st birthday party which unfortunately was a disaster! Firstly the manager was given stuff to decorate the table which was not done so we had to get the stuff back from him and had to rush around doing it last minute before they arrived at 19:15 pm, which we got over and sorted in time so not to much trouble but if he said he would do it he should have. The starters came out after about 30 minutes wait which was not a problem because they were very busy and we were expecting a delay due to that. We must have then waited for a hour for the main meal which again a delay but we were happy to wait, unfortunately after the delay the food was cold! Not just one meal but over half the table, I am not sure how they can manage that after it taking an hour but it must have been sat on the side for a long time, we complained to the manager who then snapped at the waitresses as if it was their faults in a shocking way so much so one of them started crying (these were young girls that looked very intimidated by him) eventually the food came out for a 2nd time which was now lukewarm and just about edible and I then realised that I still could not eat the food due to the fact that they did not replace the cutlery so had to ask for some which he then snapped at the waitresses again! We did not finish eating the food due to it being lukewarm and no real spice to it. By the time we left he restaurant it must have been 22:30 so three and a half hours to get 2 courses which were still cold and considering we requested a hot curry and you could not taste any spice at all was very disappointing. When leaving the family were very disappointed so much so we complained to the manager who clearly could not care less and we were told they were busy and should expect poor service! We were all debating what the food was worth and if we were going to pay at all for the food as he was not forthcoming in offering and compensation for the experience and poor food that we had not even finished eating , I do not like to do this I would rather pay walk out and not return, so I gave him the money in full for the meal which he snatched out of my hand and threw the change on the counter! I could not believe this guy! I mentioned how rude he was and that is management skills were shocking and he just smiled at me smuggle which I don’t know how I stopped myself wiping it off his face! Totally ruined the 21st birthday celebration and I can truly say that I would never ever return to this place and I recommend that they replace the management before they go bust! Such a sane as we were all really looking forward to the evening and we all left very unhappy and my sister who arranged he party for her son left the restaurant crying! Shocking experience.

once again our monthly visit was a complete success with a great choice of starters and main courses well balanced to appeal to everyone. my particular favourites the chicken tikka with fried red onions, the lamb madras, of course the samosas salad dips rice papadoms and onion barges but I even tried the chicken korma which I found very tasty and as a change very enjoyable. Where else can you get a choice like this and eat as much as you like for less than £13 ?The staff are always friendly and helpful and tables toilets clean and fresh and also the general ambience is good suitable for a family night out , a meal with friends or even a quiet romantic meal. Dont forget to take you wine and beer but soft drinks are available

Amityville Horror is the title of my new best selling review.80 minutes wait for main meal. Waited 5 minutes to see seated with no welcome and the reason for the delay was the fact that one of the dished took longer to cook. No plates woth the starters ie poppadoms, not enough glasses on the tableI appreciate that it eas busy, bit there's no excuse for not keeping us informed. If they had come and explained that they were running late, i could have accepted that. Shame as the food is relatively good but again poor poor service and no warm welcome or a welcome would have been nice

Everytime we go to this establishment it's always the same. Fantastic food great choice superb value and a brilliant evening out.Not disappointed chicken tikka masala and lamb madras both fabulous along with beautifully cooked rice. now at the buffet you get starters onion barges samosas mini naans paperdoms chutneys salad chips etc with a good range of mains. my favourite chicken tikka with red onions awesome and normally I have this with the starters and I never get to really enjoy the mains so on this occasion I went backwards having the mains first and so glad I did as the lamb madras was spicy and hot and so tasty along with my second visit for chicken tikka masala really creamy loads of meat beautiful The very friendly and helpful staff make sure the containers are we stocked but are always on hand to help if needed. Me and my family couldn’t have gotten luckier stumbling onto this place on Google. Absolutely wonderful food, catered comfortably for 2 vegans, could drink cold Cobra from the off license less than a minute down the road. Paneer Shishlack was particularly lovely. Will definitely come again

Visited this restaurant as it was near where we were staying and not many restaurants to choose from in Redruth. The restaurant was very busy and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. It has no licence but you can BYO which is great as there is a handy off licence 5 mins down the road. Food was very good and pleasant atmosphere.

Back again for a lovely meal. WOW Chicken and lemon rice, the WOW comes in three heats, mild, medium and hot. All highly recommended, more than ample portions and the lemon rice is very fragrant and tasty. We were once again made very welcome and nothing was too much trouble!

Our usual monthly visit once again confirmed what really good value it is. The staff are always welcoming and helpful and the buffet always lots of good choices and the food always well cooked and tasty. They have a good range of starters like papadoms onion bargees nan breads salad and range of chutney. Last night lamb madras was just perfect as was chicken Korma and of course they always have a veg option. The price of £12.95 makes it probable the best value ever.
