Americano's at The Lauries in Wirral

If you didn't know it was there you could easily miss this charming bistro hidden behind the reception of the Laurie's center. I think it's only open until 3pm but for lunch it's perfect. Nice atmosphere, pleasing menu, good coffee and quick friendly service, a nice antidote to the huddle and bustle of the town centre. Give it a try!

With about 45 minutes to spare in Birkenhead I was looking for a pleasant place for coffee, before a meeting. This was my first visit to the newly appointed cafe at the Lauries and was well worth a visit. The cafe is at the back of the building and not well signed, but is worth asking for. Sleek lines ,a range of seating options, and pleasant staff. The menu is ambitious for a small outfit, so we indulged with a great pot of tea, lovely coffee and avocado on granary toast, all washed down with a glass of red following. Service was unobtrusive, would definitely call back again.

Encantador lugar para un almuerzo. La mayoría de vidrio, así que se siente bien y abierto y fresco. La comida es buena, aunque un poco caro y el personal es un poco grosero, pero aparte de eso bien para una visita.

Mejor que las tiendas de café Americanos bien conocidos en la ciudad. El personal es muy amable. Impecablemente limpio. Mobiliario moderno. Mi segunda vez aquí y sin duda volveremos.

I have had the pleasure of having meetings using the office space and personal lunch times in here. The staff are amazing, bacon butties are lovely and of course the best latte in town. Thanks peeps Kev

You are always assured of excellent customer service from the pleasant and efficient staff, the ladies always have a smile and banter for their customers. The food is delicious and first rate, my favorite being the Special Omelette. I also recommend the Fish and Chips, beautiful. If you are looking for a tasty meal during the day, i highly recommend "Americano's at the Lauries", you will not be disappointed.

We had our 50th Birthday here on 7th May.Right from the start of the booking in January it was all straight forward.as long as you pay your deposit a s a p and all paid 2 weeks before event they sort everything for you .even the dj.its all included in the price.what can I say about the buffet?it didn't disappoint.Everyone said it was lovely and plenty of filling in the sandwiches.Thank you Yvonne and your team it was a night we will remember for a long time.I highly recommend the Lauries and Americanos for anyone's event

I was taken there for my lunch. I had minestrone soup and chicken and bacon risotto. the quality presentation and take was unbelievable. the service was extremely friendly and the prices charged made it excellent value for the money. I will definitely be going there again

Excellent food, excellent service every time. Yvonne and her team work hard to ensure that this is the best cafe in Birkenhead. You'll be hard pushed to find somewhere better.

I enjoy the meals,they are tasty and plentiful. The Cappuccino is a work of art.The eating area is spacious and very clean.

Just had chilli, chips, side-salad and garlic bread, plus large coffee for £5. Really tasty and well-presented. Birkenhead's hidden gem ??

I do believe that the cafe did have hot water as I questioned this myself ,,it was the Lauries centre that didn't ..... I have been coming here along time now and long enough to know that the Lauries and Americanos are two totally different buisnesses think you should of went the pound bakery if you wanted fast food ! No need for such slated feedback as a good value customer I highly rate Americano's and their staff, so keep up the good work girls :))))) x

I ordered an omelette and had to wait 3/4 hour for it?? When I queried the wait (only had an hour for lunch) I was told by very rude staff all food was cooked fresh (did they wait for the hens to lay the eggs!) But more disturbing when we went to the loo after lunch there was no hot water - we were then told the boiler had been off for over a month - how can a cafe run without hot water to wash hands etc .. will not be going back!

Be sure to visit next time you're in Birkenhead. In spite all of the options available in the town centre the decision is always simple for me, Americano's at The Lauries wins every time. The staff are fantastic and the food is second to none. With a plethora of options, you’re sure to find something to match your palate. Highly recommended! Fahim

Use this place frequently as my daughter works in the building. Excellent value for money and great service. Always greeted with a smile. The big name coffee bars could learn from their cleanliness - tables are always clean!

A full home cooked meal for under four pounds,simple menu choice table service in a clean modern centre used for meetings/training/opposite the town main fire station.Owner head chef Yuonne also does outside catering for any event.I live between UK and Lanzarote and find it hard to enjoy good healthy cuisine in UK we lag behind Med countries in fresh produce to eat.

Popped in for a bit of lunch after seeing reviews on here and wasn't disappointed. 2 meals for £6. I had the fish, chips and peas, well cooked and plenty of it. My daughter had the chicken curry with rice chips and naan bread, massive portion and really tasty. The have a good varied menu and a specials board. I will definitely be returning.

I attend a Reading Group in The Lauries, where a group of us, regularly enjoy a lovely meal, in an airy, well spaced and large room on the ground floor of the Lauries Building (which is to be found opposite the back of the large ASDA store in Birkehead.) We vary our meals from A good size bowl of soup with rolls/B/B for £1,60:: 2 meals for £6, etc, etc, and ll the food is cooked on the premises, the soup changes daily and the staff are very pleasant and attentive. I give this full marks for price, service and cleanlisness. What more could one want! They also cater for functions and take aways I believe!

I always find it a bit stupid wen you look at trip advisor reviews for certain places. You'll notice that most of the reviews left on here have only ever done one review before. And it just happens to be for here. Always makes me suspicious. Service was standard but nothing out of this world by a long shot, the food is again, just standard. These previous reviews I really don't understand why they have given 5 stars. Maybe they have never eaten out before and this is the only place they've been. Well judging by this tripadvisor account that appears to be correct. Very, very suspicious!

I've enjoyed the hospitality, food and drinks on many occaisions at this excellent venue, and each time it excels the last.Yvonne, the owner and head chef, is one of the warmest and most sincere hosts you will ever encounter, nothing is too much trouble, and there is always a lovely welcoming smile for all.Gastronomic delights await your arrival, and the prices are very fair, for very excellent fayre.

I had catering for my daughters 18th birthday party, when I went to order I was greeted with a smile and we talked about what I wanted, very pleased with the good chat we had. The food was delivered to the venue and set up perfectly, everybody enjoyed the food it was fresh and very tasty. I would recommend the catering and will be certainly popping in for lunch .

My friend and I called in for a cuppa and a chat a couple of afternoons ago. The place is very airy and clean and tidy and the owner was very friendly and helpful. The food looked so tempting so we ordered a snack each and weren't disappointed.Everything is very modestly priced too.Highly recommended.

visited The Lauries many times over the last few months, and every time we are down on the Wirral we like to meet up with friends and eat at Americano's. The menu is always varied, and specials are always value for money. My Wife and I often choose something from the £6.00 menu, Oh and that's 2 meals for £6.00! like i've said it really is value for money. And as a pensioner it really is value for money. The girls who run it are all very friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. If we can travel down from Rhosneigr, Anglesey for a visit, then I'm sure locals would be flocking there all the time if they could.Regards Keith & Lynn

great food, really friendly service, great prices.I took my kids for their dinner today as my wife was on a course at the center.The place was clean and tidy and we had a welcome with a smile.they were flexible on the order and it was all cooked fresh.My kids ate it all!!I will return when I am next in Birkenhead!

We hosted an event at The Laurie's Centre in Birkenhead last week. Yvonne provided us with a great buffet, exactly what we needed at a great price. Excellent caterers and from what I've seen a lovely looking spot for lunch!

Booked Americanos to provide supper for an evening ceilidh/barndance for 120 people in the function room at the Lauries on 14 Feb2014. Yvonne gave sound advice over the choice of menu and suggested a selection of hot food The service was slick, efficient and unobtrusive. The supper was excellent value and everyone raved about the food. I would certainly use Americanos again and would have no hesitation in recommending them

Good coffee, great food, fun staff - Our third visit and always leave pleased. Lots of menu choices ---- proper food made by talented chefs who care about their customers.Definitely worth a visit - you won't be disappointed.

What more can you ask for. We visit Americanos when we are in town. The food is fabulous and the staff are always willing to please-often with a slight change to the menu for my fussy kids. Highly recommended.

just had lunch at Americano's @ the lauries, fantastic!!! I had the stirfry off the daily specials and i have to say it was one of the best i've ever had. I highly recomend a visit.

Americano's has to be THE best place in Birkenhead to get anything from drinks to sandwiches to full meals at fantastic prices.food always fresh , and food area always spotless, go here everyday for my lunch, never had a bad experience, staff always pleasant, friendly and helpful, nothing is ever too much to much trouble .

Visited americanos at the lauries for lunch..amazing lunch very reasonably priced followed by luscious homemade dessert pure heaven definitely reccommend a visit..if I require any outside catering will be looking at americanos as my first choice

Americano's serves great portions of delicious food at very affordable prices. Yvonne is a talented chef who goes above and beyond to deliver fresh meals with a home cooked feel. Eat here! You won't regret it.

A hidden gem inside the Lauries Center in Birkenhead, Yvonne's homecooked soups, roast beef dinners, lasagnes, chilli con carnes and light bites are some of the best food I've ever tasted on the Wirral. It's the Wirral's best kept secret when it comes to epic food!Order the BBQ chicken panini and fat chips for a gastro-pub style plate of good grub for just a few quid, or treat yourself to something off the special's board like I did for a big bowl of mulligatawny soup, salad and a chunky roll. Spicy, herby, fresh - what a find! My mate had the Americano parma wrapped chicken breast with fresh greens and a twice-roasted jacket. This is GOOD EATING at an unbelievable price, and Yvonne and her staff will explain the specials to you and go the extra mile to make sure your lunch is perfect.They accept take-out orders too if you're in a rush on your lunch break! I'm sold!!

I Like this cafe, the breakfast is very nice and reasonably priced all freshly cooked. I also like the fish & chips. I have had the ploughmans lunch which is also very good. Staff are friendly and helpful. It is not far from the shopping area.

Take a look, right in the middle of town this place is clean and friendly with some great menu options. It is affordable too.

I have eaten here a few times now and always leave feeling like I have had a really good deal. Meals are huge, fresh and loads of choice. Fresh coffee and homemade cakes, can't be beaten for a good value lunch, especially with children in tow.

I went into the Laurie's centre on a Thursday as I heard that they did roast dinners on a Thursday. I sooooo wasn't disappointed. I got two roast dinners and two chocolate cakes with custard for just over £10.00. I couldn't believe it! It was all freshly cooked and rather large portions too. I certainly struggled to finish but the food was too good not to.We didn't have to wait long for our lunch and the staff in there are all so friendly. The more you go in, the more you get the feel of the place.The regular customers and the staff create such a friendly atmosphere, you feel welcome as soon as you walk in.I tell all of my friends about Americano's as it's right in the town centre so a perfect location to grab some lunch when you go shopping.Gets two big thumbs up from me!

This place is a hidden gem , I didn't really know it was open to the public but went in one day and can't stop going back!! The atmosphere is really good, kinda has a courtyard feel even though inside. The food is all freshly cooked to order and the prices are amazing, I don't know how they do it for the price !! The coffee's are also really nice - all in all would recommend this place to anyone looking for either a quick coffee, breakfast or indeed a lovely lunch (homemade soups are lovely)

I can't recommend this place enough to the people i meet. It is in the heart of birkenhead, and has excellent transport location. It is more than VERY reasonable, the highest charge for food, is a mere £4.95 for a full English breakfast with free tea. I however had the panini's and chips for £3.80 and it was a challenge to finish it. I couldn't leave any because it was too Yummy!! We often bring the children in too, as they do kids meals too, for £2.00 per child, and only 50p extra with a drink!! .. A very Clean Environment, fantastic staff !! highly recommend.

We eat at Americanos regularly and always get good food and prompt service. The menu is good basic food and at a reasonable cost. There is plenty of variety and the specials menu changes daily. The surroundings are clean and informal and the location is perfect to visit after a hard afternoons shopping. Love the place!
