The waiter was very nice I have no complaints about the service how ever the food was so poor I had to wright a review.basic flavourless tough chewy steak,soggy floppy apple pie my son enjoyed his overpriced bacon burger but the missus hated her entire meal will not ever return..

Lovely food good quick efficient service from nice friendly staff and no silly prices!! The menu is straightforward and includes a kids menu, and they gave us some tickets to the Joyland amusement was very nice of them,,,

We’ve been here several times and have always thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Originally from the US, we can attest the portions are certainly American-sized. It’s a lovely diner with authentic booths, etc. My kids love the huge, thick shakes and real hotdogs just like they used to get state-side. The burgers can’t be rare or medium thanks to the buzzkill that is the UK’s Health & Safety, but they still taste awesome and are so juicy! I love the Smoky Joe. The curly fries are spot on! You just need to slice the tomatoes for a burger -Not serve them with tomato wedges. The breakfast is absolutely ace! Best bacon of my life! It’s naturally smoky off the griddle. Great eggs too. The diner is clean as a whistle. All the people working there are absolutely lovely and wonderful! And it’s fabulous that you get a free ride at Joyland for every £15 spent. This diner has become a regular stop off for us whenever we are in Yarmouth. Give it a go. You won’t be sorry.

Absolutely appalling..only one toilet in use for all guests gents was out of order no water waste bin overflowing toilets check list had not been completed. The food was very average & over priced Had 2 glasses of tap water with ice & lemon..a dried up slice at that.. Our waiter was really pleasant & did ask twice if everything was ok..mint imperial sweets & lollipops were with our bill..4 adults on our table & no children 5 other members of my family were behind us..3 adults & 2 children their waitress didn’t ask if everything was ok or did they need anything else..and no treats with their bill.. You do get free passes for the kids with every £15 you spend..so you get a half day out for nothing so every cloud..not value for money

Very rude staff was going to go there and cars were parked there so thought we could park there was told very abruptly that you couldn't park there not a car park

Shockingly bad food. Overpriced, tasteless, garbage. Cynical rubbish aimed at milking money from hungry tourists, drawn in by the decor...my hot wings were slimy and tasteless; the ranch dressing was cheap tasting mayo. Great looking venue. Good location. Horrible food

We had an absolutely lovely experience here this evening . Our food was amazing and the staff were very friendly. Would 100% recommend and will be coming back 😊

We've been coming to this diner for years, the food is always nice and the kids (now teens) still enjoy it. The problem is it is starting to look in desperate need of a facelift. The chair we sat on was repaired in several places with duck tape, and that sums it up unfortunately. Whilst the food is nice and always well cooked it is very expensive for what it is.

Visited the other day as we had been told they have added some vegan options to the menu which are few and far between in Yarmouth. Had to wait 30 minutes for a table which increased our hopes as it’s obviously a popular place to eat. Unfortunately food was pretty poor, had a hot dog and wedges, wedges over fried and hard and hotdog was literally just sausage and bread. Hubby had a burger which he thought was ok. Wouldn’t be in a rush to return.

Visited twice on our holiday. Food was lovely. Steak was melt in the mouth. Loved the ambience with the music and good service both times.

Honestly can stay I think this diner thinks it’s in London. Between £15-£25 for a main. I think this is a little much for a seaside town. 2 potato skins for £6.50 yet a whole jacket potato was £5. Pricing seems odd. Slow service and miserable staff. My friend is suffering with a leg injury at the moment and she can’t bend her leg. But they rudely asked her to move over. When it wasn’t possible for her to do it. Save your money. Better food and value at other places.

6 of us ate here Saturday evening,not very busy,our burgers were burnt and dry chicken was dry my medium steak was black, never bought us cutlery napkins or condiments was told to get myself, for £130not very happy to say the least we ate what we could ,when I told the waitor he just looked at me like I had 2 heads and walked off, thumbs down !!!!!!

Great food, great service and perfect decor & just what you would expect from an American diner. The burger was huge and very enjoyable.

Delicious food, fast and friendly service. Very good prices 2 adults 1 child and 4 drinks came to £40 which I'd say is cheap for a restaurant. And you get 1 free ride ticket for joyland for every £15 spent. The only downfall is that it got rather hot as they didnt have AC there was celing fans but they weren't on.

Fab visit today, its rare to get a decent burger under £15.00 these days so credit due for not ripping people off, lovely moving mountains burger served with loads of curly fries, lovely banana milkshake, can do staff attitude 👌 Really feels like an authentic american diner. On the whole good value, generous portions, decent service and a good vibe👍

Came for lunch here. We all had steak cooked to perfection. Milkshakes are out of this world. Portion size more then generous well worth the money. Staff are so polite and helpful

We went here as a last resort as we couldn't get a table at any of the restaurants that we had googled. We ordered three milkshakes which were delicious. Myself and my mother in law ordered the chicken and ribs. The ribs were fall apart...

Rushed around to fit this place into our day, as it closes at 8 !!! We don’t go out till this time normally ! Wish we hadn’t bothered. All 10 of us were disappointed. Over rated food and certainly over priced. Slow service. Sticky tables...

We came here as had spotted something I fancied whilst walking the dog. I had the sea food platter it was huge prawns scampi cod and white bait. Only but I didn’t like but personal choice nothing wrong with it also salad and jacket potatoe....

Steak was way over cooked and all burnt 🤢 wouldnt serve it to my dog. Curly fries just tasted of pure oil and the salad was dry as if it had been lefted out for hours.

We had a burger and fries each. Takeaway. It was perfectly fine. Tasty. Plenty of seating available and no rush to eat our food. Will go again next time we visit.

We were lucky to be in great Yarmouth when the sun was blazing so sat outside the American diner for drinks and lunch. Service was very good and the food lovely, if a little pricey, came here three days In a row!

We were a party of six and we needed a restaurant that was dog friendly the American diner was recommended by a local and we were not disappointed! We sat on the terrace, the menu was varied and great value for money! Absolutely no complaints!

we booked a table for 10 but on arrival we were put on two tables in different parts of the restaurant.some of our party ordered american pancakes with egg and bacon.we wanted scrambled egg but we were told they didnt do scrambled egg.our sons breakfast arrived with no cuttlery.we asked for this with condiments as these were not on the table.10 minuets later the rest of our food arrived!We asked to see the manager but was questiond why! We told the manager about the problems and as we had booked a table the following day we wanted to be all sat together.He aggreed that the table service was poor and not up to their usual standard and applogised.We questiond the scrambled egg not being available and he told us that this wasnt the case.The following day we were all seated together.most of us ordered american pancakes as we could have scrambled egg and bacon only to be told they didnt have any pancakes(it was only 10am)and this is an american diner ffs !!! not good enough and wont be returning.

We had an excellent diner meal; the burgers were good, and the shakes and sundae were brilliant. The staff went out of their way to find a table for us, despite how busy it was, phoning after we left our details just in case there was a cancellation. Our waitress was lovely, great with our kids and went out of her way to ensure that we enjoyed our meal.

Arrived but hadn't booked. We were told we can be seated but there was a 30 minute wait for food. We were fine with this. We ordered drinks. Bottled water and my son wanted a chocolate milkshake. He couldn't drink it, he said it was too chocolately!? Which to me is a good thing. We ordered the Joyland Breakfast, BLT and Pancakes. We waited only 10 minutes. The food was fantastic and well portioned. Service was excellent. The diner is very clean and well managed. We would definately return.

Staff seem very young and unprofessional. I felt very uncomfortable when I received my receipt and it had the chef asking for my phone number. When I went up to pay all staff were laughing about the bill situation which made me feel intimidated. on top of this I had to ask a waitress to take our order as she was just standing around and we’d been in the restaurant for 10 minutes. Unsure however both myself and my friend felt quite unwell after our milkshakes neither of us had eaten anywhere before so we assume this is from the restaurant. All in all it was a very uncomfortable and unprofessional environment

We had the seafood platter, it was deep fried to the extreme! It looked like it had been redone many times, I didn’t even attempt to eat it but my partner did even though it was practically all breadcrumbs with burnt seafood it the middle. He felt sick all day after eating some. The staff were not interested in why I hadn’t touched my meal. I would not go again.

Great views over the beach, real nice to actually get a hot capachino and after stealing a slurp of the wife's banana shake i can recommend this 100% , second time here last time there wasa mini classic car show on the on ramp and today loads of motorbikes so seems a place to gather for petrol heads

We had several meals here in February half term. The food was lovely, as was the atmosphere. The staff were friendly and engaging they treated my son who has autism and can be loud very well. I thought the place was absolutely excellent and will definitely be returning when they reopen.

Always enjoy coming to the Family/American diner, that was until Saturday 29th when myself and partner went in there for a light snack. Hers was fine so she said but mine on the other hand was ok but it was the staff members attitude and she was training a new starter. I ordered a small stack of pancakes with maple syrup and a couple of scoops of ice cream. What turned up was indeed a short stack with maple syrup and two of the smallest scoops of ice cream I had ever seen, however that wasn’t the issue,the issue was that whoever put it on a plate poured half of the maple syrup over the pancakes and then just plonked the rest of the syrup in its little jug in the syrup that was on the plate. After separating the jug from the syrup and putting it onto a serviette the trainer for the staff came round and asked if everything was ok I said it was but my one criticism would be that I wouldn’t put the syrup jug in the syrup on the plate,her response was a couldn’t care less attitude to which I said to her you couldn’t care less could you to which she shrugged her shoulders and smiled,my partner was trying to find some change for a tip and I said to her a tip for what a poor attitude and we left,no tip. It will be a long time before I go back there.

Walked into a half empty diner and got pointed to a tiny table near the toilet? I said I want to sit in one of the 4 empty booths which she agreed. But why sit us on the worst table when all those free tables?All the waitresses who dealt with us looked at us gone out through all our interactions like they’d never spoke to another person before? It was just bizarre.After table service throughout I wanted to pay by card so left it on the bill tray for when they returned. After 15 minutes I waved a waitress down and said ready to pay pointing at the card, she smugly grinned and said pay at the till. When it was suppose to be “table” service. So I was suppose to assume it’s table service all the way through unless paying by card where I had to join a big queue to pay for my dinner! That is not table service, and at least if that is the case tell people and don’t laugh when they ask as if it’s the most normal thing out when it’s been table service throughout.Food was good though, so the chefs good at least.

We have been coming here for over 10 years and still has not disappointed. Still have good burgers and loads of choice. Milkshakes are excellent and very good value for money. They also give you a ride for Joyland next door after spending a certain amount in the restaurant. Excellent again. No need to change!

We went here for a meal and 4 of us ordered burgers. when they arrived they were all very dry and burnt. 3 of us refused the meals as they were inedible. The 4th person was so hungry he would have eaten a piece of leather ( not dissimilar) I said I would pay for the drinks, one adult meal and the child's meal and that we would eat somewhere else. The owner was sat at the bar eating and I said to him about the meals and also the fact that nobody seemed bothered by the fact our food was so bad. His reply was that he ate there every day So it must be ok. He was extremely rude. The fact that he sits at the bar every day and eats alone really doesn’t surprise me with that attitude. There are plenty of other places to eat that serve good, fresh food at half the price. Shame as it will be just another place that closes down. The staff weren’t too bad so I hope they find new jobs when it happens.

Have been here plenty of times over the years and the food is always good. There is a good variety of food for both adults and kids and the quality is great.We always enjoy the atmosphere in here. On our most recent visit it was a very busy hot evening which slowed us down being able to pay and get out but overall we still very much like it here.

Got seated immediately got a fantastic allergens list on the menu. Service was good and the food was good. The food was reasonably priced for what you get you can’t complain.

Boyfriend and I have been wanting to come here since we been coming to Yarmouth, but never had a chance due to always been busy.But we went here this month (August 2019) we had to wait 10-15mins for a seat.So chilled in the seating area and talked to the waitress and watched a bit of the tv. Staff Cleared table way fast and was clean.Food is expensive (most was over £12.50) I had £12.50 meal for sampi and twisted chips with salad boyfriend a £10.50 meal for smokey Joes burger with twisted chips and saladBut the portion of the food is very big. So if you ate at 12ish you be full for the rest of the day drinks wasn't a bad price the usually you would get at most placesdesserts pricey again due to size so they're from £6 but we found Ben and Jerry's sandwich for £3.50 but was a good size from a big meal.When finished pay at till, where you get your free ride to Joyland that you can use anytime when the park is open and never runs out so you can keep it for a year or go the next day or on the day depends if open.

Welcoming staff meet you at the door and take you to your table. Varied menu. All food that I saw was well presented. I had the chicken wrap. Keylime pie for dessert. Very tasty and very filling. Would certainly recommend to all ages.

Went with my 7 year old daughter, she had sausages and chips and I had grilled chicken burger and chips....both were lovely but my daughter inadvertently poured a tonne of sugar on her chips thinking it was the salt pot..I got another plate to dust off the sugar and then the staff came and gave us a fresh plate of chips without even asking...how lovely, and so appreciated. Great value for money and nice friendly environment, couldn't ask for me..

Seven of us came in to eat. Staff seemed ok, but food was not great. It is certainly nothing like an American diner!

Visited last week and enjoyed the place and the food, Music in the background added to the American feel about it, food was good quality and plentiful , Milkshake was brilliant and very tasty, daughter said it was the best she had all week.

A few of us went for an early lunch at the diner. Most had milkshakes, which all were lovely. Then as a group most had hotdogs or burgers.

Very nice food , all the meals we had were good , daughter loved her ribs , and my sharing starter was gorgeous , very nice menu.

First time we went for a meal and had excellant service just wish I could remember the servers name. The milkshake is delicious and the food average. The second time we only wanted milkshake and ice cream. Not a friendly welcome but not awful. They gave us menus then stood around talking and I had to ask to order which then took a further 2-3 minutes while they finished their conversation. The drinks and ice cream arrived in timely manner and whilst the milkshakes were nice the ice cream was not the best. Then again we had to get their attention to get the bill as they stood around talking again ignoring customers. I appreciate when it is quieter it is hard to stay focused but standing in front of customers just talking and ignoring customers is not appropriate

Good USA theme ,Good food. Good portion size, could do with more American style drinks but way to finish off the day.

We were out with our son & grandson and needed something to eat on the Saturday of Easter weekend. They knew it would be very busy after the good weather forecast it took an age to get the order in and paid for. It then took a while for the food to arrive and when it did the two orders of Chips were cold and some appeared to have been cooked a couple of times . My wife mentioned this and the chips were changed very quickly and were OK, why did we not get these chips the first time around. The staff all seemed very pleasant but seemed out of their depth with the amount of people there. The outside tables could do with a wipe down after being used, ours had sand all over it.

I don’t normally write reviews however my daughter insisted since the waitress and food was so great. We had just been to the circus and decided to come to the diner. We we served by a fabulous young girl who delivered fantastic speedy service, she was very talkative, friendly, very polite and a treat to have there. She was great with my child and defiantly a bubbly girl who was talkative the whole time and laughing with us. You could tell she was driven since the whole time I was in the diner she was the only one doing jobs around such as taking food out and going outside.

Just so surprised, very busy but the food was over cooked, had the chilli burger which was dry with a watery chilli on top and cold fries, took a while to come, staff spent time talking to themselves and not serving and there were a lot of them on duty in the kitchen and out front. Get a manager out front who can control the staff and the takings will improve even more and get guests back who live in the area like me and my family. On the plus side the milkshakes were lovely but not enough to keep going back unless for a drink only

Fairly cheap. Very disappointed food wasn’t great bad quality. Burger was very dry almost like it had been re heated. Fries were hard and tasted like cheap frozen ones. Waiting staff not great either didn’t once ask if everything was okay with our meals. Wasn’t very busy was about six of them all just standing around. Definetly won’t be back.

Starters and staff was nice, after that downhill. Burger reheated and dry even tho coated in blue cheese. Sweetcorn microwaved from frozen dried out. Had a side order of coleslaw, had better from any supermarkets. Wouldn't come again

Stopped here to have a later morning (11am) breakfast. We went for the large option, which did not disappoint. The menu is what you would expect from an American diner themed restaurant, albeit the full English we had very very good. No complaints and set us up for the day.

went there on granddaughters birthday, they brought me something different to what I ordered, not moaning about that because they gave 50% off as I said I would eat that anyway! but the food is noting special, my chicken was over cooked ans tough in places, salad was very average and modest, large tom cut into 4 large pieces, no q piece of lettuce few slices of onion and wedges were frozen wedges and over cooked and hard, the other 3 all said the same after meal, not going back there, we all had a soft drink but even with my half priced meal still cost nearly £50!

Had a nice meal at the American diner with the family we all enjoyed our dinner the was plenty on our plates will be going back next I'm in the area

Came here with my Wife and Son while in holiday in Great Yarmouth. In all honesty, we didn't expect much as it was next to "Joyland" which didn't look great. We needed to eat though and the prices were reasonable so we stopped in. The greeter was very nice and accomodated us including the pram for our infant son, which we were grateful for.

The location is perfect by the beach and all the sea side resort shops .

Our family of 7 visited today and had good food and great service. My only comment is that quantities, particularly of potatoes, were over large. Better than not enough I guess. Would go again.

We visit this diner very year and in past years have been reasonably happy. The food is always good, although they give too many chips, and the service ok however this year it was not.

Went in for lunch today about 6 staff behind the till all had terrible body langue(arms folded, chatting to each other rather then customers chewing gum wearing head phones look at mobile phone a lot) didn't get seen to a table just got pointed to one waited for ages for drinks. When food came we (me, wife and mom-in law) had a burger each true it was massive portion burger all 3 burgers were burned and taste less 3 burges 2 coffes that taste awlful and cup tea £36 rip off rude staff didn't ask how was it

Really poor quality food, awful customer service, not suitable for people with allergies or intolerance as even though the menu is well labelled, staff knowledge and understanding of allergens is dangerously poor. I wouldn't feed my dog here.

Me and my partner came up for a holiday and don’t know the area. We spotted the diner and thought we will give it ago. Best food we had on our holiday. Potions were huge, food was hot and tasted amazing. Melt at the knees type of food. Price wasn’t questionable either. Worth it!!! Planning our next trip up there already

went there with the family last summer, service was poor and the staff were not very engaging. It was a busy hot day and our order was delivered wrong. However it clean and has a nice 50's american feel to it.

Popped in one evening during Easter holidays. Was seated quickly even though it was busy. Ordered honey and mustard chicken and a chefs grill. Was told there would be a little wait on food but we were in no rush! Massive portions and food was cooked wonderfully! I think a couple of waitresses were in training but were very polite and friendly and the rest of the staff were very attentive!

Don't bother. If you want a drink and to order a few snacks they'll turn you away. Would have accommodated us if we all wanted full meals.

We ordered a bottle of still water and got a glass of tap water, then the ribs came with a very bad quality Bbq sauce and loads of it... the meat was a very bad quality meat and the vanilla milkshake was tasteless... the waitresses were living in another world...really disappointed with restaurants and cafes in Great Yarmouth...

Brought my family here for lunch all together we had chicken, burger and ribs the food was excellent the service was great and the surroundings are lovely.I had the full rack of ribs which I have to say where the best ribs I’ve ever had they were soft and stunning and the sauce was out of this world,my daughter said the burger was also great.

We had already been alerted to the fact that due to the size of our party, our meals wouldn't all be out at the same time, so we were pleasantly surprised to find that just meant they didn't have a waitress per person! We all had our meals within a couple of minutes of each other and what meals they were!!

A lot to choose from so we decided to have a sharing platter which we thoroughly enjoyed. Particularly enjoyed the ribs where the meat fell off the bone and the chicken wings which were crispy and had a nice kick to them. Having visited the diner in the past and had a bad experience I was rather reluctant to eat there again but was pleased that I gave it a second chance. In comparison to previous visit we sat comfortably,the food was well cooked,the children's meals were huge and portion sizes were generous. As a party of 11 they dealt with our orders well and food was fairly prompt. There was a bit of a delay Waiting for the bill we had to go and ask twice as they had got busier since we had started our meal. They could benefit from a area to change children as my daughter had to change little one on the floor in the ladies, not the most hygienic! All in all good value for money and I would visit again if in the local area.

The food was Ok - not really what I wanted but much is closed by late afternoon in Yarmouth. It's a cheesy American theme diner, feeling out of place in an English seaside. I told them I wanted a snack only and they didn't mention a card lower limit of £10, which is so rare these days - we can usually pay for as little as a £1 on our cards, even in small places. My bill came to more than I had in cash, so they said I'd have to pay £2 (a big proportion of it) or they could sell me unwanted goods to make it up - which ended up being twice that! It seems these were primed ready for this situation. I pointed out that in shops, we know about such issues before we consume the item, and can choose upfront whether to buy the items, not when we've already used it. I wrote in and got a slow and rude reply from someone who didn't even name themselves, more keen to wrongfoot me than put anything right. They made £4 and 40% extra of me, when I felt they should've said - did you want another coffee or a desert then? It was the tone of the reply which has put me off going back.

It is an experience to dine in. An American diner with all the memorabilia you can imagine. Well kitted out just like you'd expect. The service is ok and the food is ok. Not special. Just ok.

Have seen and heard a lot of mixed reviews, but based on my first ever visit here I would both recommend and come again. The service was prompt and efficient and the food both plentiful and reasonably priced. My burger was nicely cooked and tasted good.

Casual and easy going diner - good for families, couples, friends.....everyone really. We had burgers and ribs - everything was tasty and portions were huge. The desserts looked interesting but sadly we were all too full to try anything else. Prices were decent and we all said we'd love to go again.

Amazing food at good prices, atmosphere great, the good old rock and roll theme, you'll love it, a great stop off.

We were the last people accepted in diner prior to closing and kinda felt we paid fo mopped up left overs that had been sitting around for hours ... I actually was eating but thinking this is going to give me a dodgy stomach !! ( it didnt but think that was because I left over half of it ) son also left his burger - if you can't get a burger right in burger bar you're in trouble !

I've been here for a couple of times n I really liked it . Very friendly staff n food was good value for money . This last time when we left the cinema we decided to go there n it wasn't nice . I know it was 8.30 pm but the restaurant close at 10. The burgers were overcooked the staff was in a hurry to close but the worse thing was that we had to eat with the smell of detergent coz they were cleaning one part of the restaurant n it wasn't nice . We didn't had a good meal first coz the food n second coz we had the feeling that we had to hurry up coz they wanted to close . I work in a cafe in a busy road n I know that after a long day you just want to go home but cleaning while people are still eating n bring chairs inside n making us know that we are not welcome wasn't the best . It's a shame coz it's a nice place but to be honest I don't think I will be back .

Speedy service, staff helpful, food was very reasonably priced and portions more thN adequate. You even get free tickets for joyland accirding to spend. Lovely atmosphere, clean Nd welcoming.

We stopped here recently for an evening meal during a trip to Yarmouth.We've eaten here before and always found it very good and this visit was no exception. The decor is excellent, the food is great (large portions) and the service is fast.We will be back again soon.

Service and food was excellent. Good coffee as well. Staff were friendly. quite busy when we were there.Bonus is that for every £15 spent you get a complimentary ride voucher for Joyland (same owners it seems). In fact I spent £24 and was given 4 rides!!
