Amelies in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

We've been to Porthleven on holiday for the last three years and have eaten here each time. It's a nice restaurant with a good atmosphere and excellent food. We all had pizzas this year - all very good and very filling. Service was very good, and there was a very good choice on the menu. We'll be back next time we're in Porthleven.

We visited in August and found it to be lovely. The seafood was amazing and prices in line with what we would expect to pay. We would definitely return if in the area again.

The restaurant is in a beautiful location and the service was good but we were a little disappointed with the seafood linguine which seemed to be a bit lacking in crabmeat which was what we were looking forward to. We were also rather shocked to be charged £11 for a medium glass of wine.

Having visited over the past 10 years at least 4 times a year, this restaurant had become a favorite but on the last two occasions in June and August so disappointed with the food and service. Over priced and very limited menu, food serviced not of good quality. When asked if we enjoyed the food and told the staff” not the best” was meet with a smile as if to say you’re not the only one! Won’t be going back I’m afraid.

We had a lovely dinner with our two children for our anniversary. The food was fantastic especially the king prawn and also the scallop starters. Lovely wine and great service from Maggie our waitress for the evening. Our 2 children also appreciated that the section we were seated in was a no dog area

quite brilliant restaurant with great fish and seafood options overlooking the harbour at Porthleven. I started with the shellfish bisque which was tasty but the only imperfection, there was a tad too much chilli which slightly obscured the flavours of shellfish. For mains I had the Porthleven fish (see picture) and this was one of the best things I’ve eaten in a long while, better than the turbot at the two Michelin star Hand and Flowers in Marlow. Superbly seasoned and every aspect of the dish was cooked the perfection. So good was the fish, that I had the Cornish scallops to follow and again, cooked to perfection with the creamy scallops popping in my mouth, beautifully contrasted with the spicy chorizo. I then had the creme Catalan for desert. The rhubarb was delicious and the crunchy, caramelised topping also great. Maggie, my waitress, was warm, welcoming and attentive but not intrusive. Really helped make the occasion special. If I was staying longer in the area, I think I’d eat here every evening!

Our third visit to Amelie in the last year - never disappoints. Food and service absolutely top class. Had lots from the menu - prawns, broccoli, mackerel starters, sea bass and cod mains, chocolate and orange tart and fig desserts - the fig dessert was very inventive - teamed with coffee baklava. Lovely sauvignon blanc, gavi and jam jar cocktail. The young man who served us was attentive and polite. Very dog friendly. Well done Amelie!

We enjoyed our meals at Amelie, scallop starter and fish mains, wine choice was good. Too full to try pudding. Quite pricey and I would prefer not to have to order additional sides as I prefer the mains to come as a complete meal. That being said the side portions were generous so serve two easily. Our waitress Maggie was very attentive, all the waitresses were working their socks off, the restaurant was full and not taking walk ins so I’d say slightly understaffed. There was a delay to our mains but Maggie spotted this and ensured our meals got to us quickly after that. Overall would recommend.

I visited here a few evenings ago with my husband, and I must say it was absolutely gorgeous! The food was cooked perfectly. The lamb shank was what I ate, and it was just falling off the bone! Amazing. We were served and waited on by Sam who is lovely young lady, who advised us on the menu and what food she recommended the most. She made me a delicious espresso martini too! Special evening, with a lovely view of the harbour too! I’ll be returning again soon!

I went to Amelie’s with family on a nice Sunday afternoon. We noticed this place has the award for the best Sunday Lunch in Cornwall- so we thought- why not try one for ourselves. I must say, we were blown away!!! The meat was amazing, cooked perfectly and nice and tender. The whole meal was presented in a very appealing way- a perfect way to start your meal. Additionally, the restaurant has dog friendly areas for our furry friends. All this is amazing but it doesn’t stop there… From almost anywhere you are seated throughout the restaurant you are able to witness the stunning views of the beautiful porthleven harbour. Overall, I give this restaurant a 10/10, it is a must visit spot.

Myself, my daughter and daughter-in-law had a fabulous meal at Amelies in Porthleven. The food was delicious. Our waitress Maggie was attentive and very knowledgeable about the food and wine. This was a great little place we visited over Easter. The pizza we had was so soft and tasty. The staff were charming - Iminy, Sam and Maggie looked after us exceptionally with great service and smiles. Would definitely go back. Plus dog friendly with great views of the harbour.

First visit to Porthleven today and first visit to Amelie for lunch. A lovely spot overlooking the harbour a lovely restaurant with excellent food. Served by Olivia who was extremely professional, knowledgeable and attentive, a great experience I shall definitely be back.

My partner and I had an amazing visit to this beautiful restaurant on a wet evening in March. The food cooked by Faz was stunning. The attention to detail by Olivia was exemplary. We will come back when hopefully the weather will be better.

well I'm not sure where the sudden raft of good reviews have sprung from because our evening was certainly not one to remember! we found the service quite shocking and atmosphere poor, what you could hear nevertheless was a female member of the kitchen team who was extremely loud with some very choice language lets put it that way. quite disgusting when there is children in the establishment! food was average found it a bit bland but have had worse. The problem is there is 3 or 4 amazing restaurants in Porthleven to compete with and unfortunately we found Amelies was bottom of the pile.

Absolutely loved our meal here. The staff are great, chatty & friendly, especially Olivia. Nothing was too much for them to do for us. Stu (the Chef), thank you for accommodating my dietary needs, 1st class food. Lamb Shank, Seafood Linguini, Humous, so fresh and extremely tasty. The best meal we've had here this week. Olivia and Immy’s service and attentiveness was absolutely spot on, particularly Olivia’s knowledge and enthusiasm regarding menu dishes, going so far as to offer a favourite ingredient to be added to my dish of choice, knowing that the chef would concur. Lovely atmosphere with fabulous view. Good value for money and 100% recommendation to others visiting or staying in Porthleven. We look forward to returning. Really good food at a reasonable price. Waitress was great We booked without reading the reviews as we’d been to Porthleven before but couldn’t get a table as they were fully booked. I nearly cancelled after seeing the reviews as it was for Daughters birthday but things must’ve changed It really was great and we’ll go again ….oh and they let dogs in so added bonus for us

We just had an incredible Sunday Lunch today; the food was superb; never ever had 7 vegetables with my roast beef, albeit I asked for Cauliflower cheese as an extra side. The quality and portion size is a testament to the chef who is clearly passionate about locally produced food with great cookery. Olivia and Immy were great hosts; tentative to our needs and informative of the orgins of the family pictorial history in the restaurant. We loved their passion and dedication to offer continual plates of great food throughout service. Olivia and Immy were amazing hosts; warmth and genuine hospitality from the onset. Well done to the chef, the unsung hero 🥰 and the team for an exceptional experience. We will be back on our return in June

Fabulous food, location, live music and great service. We were served by Olivia, who was super helpful and ensured we had everything we needed. The Sunday lunch was superb, high quality meat and deliciously cooked veg which was a little different to the normal. Great wine list too. Would 100% recommend.

Had a wonderful 4 generation girlie lunch today . Olivia was amazing with my 82 year old mother and also my 3 month old granddaughter and charming throughout. The food was lovely as always.
