Perfect afternoon tea celebration!!! Booked for 17 people in the party room. Excellent service- food was amazing- everyone needed a box to take bits home as there was so much! Gluten free option completely matched the regular platter. Beautifully presented. Would thoroughly recommend. Thanks so much for giving us such a lovely afternoon xx

Ordered a gluten free classic burger, when this came there was no bun on top!  I asked for a bun top  and was told that the I would be charged extra as the burger was constructed on a gluten free slice of bread. By the time the gluten free roll arrived my meal was almost cold and I had started eating the burger with a knife and fork and my fingers. I explained that the burger bun had come too late I had started eating my meal and it was almost cold.  I was offered  another meal,   I didn't want to wait again, and my companion had eaten half of their meal. The waitressed asked what they could do I asked for money off the meal. The the owner Amelia came to the table giving the excuse that the burger had not been put on a gluten-free bun  as the ones they have were not big enough for a burger and that the burger was described as loaded which she explained meant and open burger. This is not a term I was familiar with I explain this and said I would not have ordered it if i had know this. My companion also commented that this needed to be written on the menu to make other people aware. Why was this not described as an open burger as there sandwiches are ? Amelia replied that no one else had ever complained or commented about the presentation and that this was just my preference. She then came back to the table informing us she had spoken to the kitchen and that if i stopped eating and returned the meal, i wouldn't be charged.  I was in agreement to this as the food was cold. Emilia then said i had been very rude and asked me to leave now.  Non gluten-free burgers are presented in a bun on the bottom and top. There is no excuse not to provide a gluten-free bun for burgers and not skimp on just getting one size of gluten-free burgers or using bread. I have been using this cafe for years and recommending to others, I will never recommend this place again due to the poor attitude of the owner.

Bank holiday breakfast out at @ameliaaliceinteriors courtesy of voucher received for looking after next door’s cat ‘Lyla’. Local people may remember that this used to be The Plough pub which shut quite a few years ago. Thankfully the current occupiers have transformed the building into a home interior shop which also has a cafe/restaurant where they have retained the bar and still serves all the drinks from. It also provides a space to display the multitude of cakes they. We went for all the low calorie options on offer, the Iced Snickers Peanut Butter Mocha which was nothing short of sensational. Breakfast was a standard full English and a Hangover cure, which is a pancake stack with bacon, sausage and maple syrup. The full English comes with vine tomatoes and a choice of eggs. All the food is well presented and you get a decent portion. The full breakfast menu is fairly extensive for a fairly small place but it’s regularly busy. I also need to talk about the cakes. The choice is amazing, sponges, gateaux and the brownies. I may sound biased but honestly, the best brownies in Lincoln and again, a good ‘healthy’ portion. The pic here is of a Crunchie brownie.

We waited 25 minutes to get a pot of tea for 2 and a jug of filter coffee for our table of 5s afternoon tea. The coffee was not good and weak. The afternoon food was good however the scones were hard and dry. Sandwiches and cakes were great. Very poor service and a very peculiar set up inside.

What a great place for lunch. I had the quiche and salad -quiche was a generous portion and the salad interesting with added apple, grapes , pomegranite seeds etc.Lunch 12 -4pm except Tuesday and sunday.

We visited for a late breakfast, and were not disappointed. Quality of the food was amazing, and the service really great.

Excellent food. I had a ham and cheese panini and my friend had a jacket potato with tuna mayo. The food was well presented and hot. Afterwards my friend had a piece of carrot cake and I had a pice of white Kitkat cheesecake. Both portions were very large and both homemade. We had a couple of pots of tea with everything. Excellent food and good value for money

I visited with my daughter mid-week for lunch that she had booked the day before. We were met by friendly staff and even though it was quite busy, they gave us a choice of tables. Specials were explained to us and then the lady came back to take our order which we didn’t wait too long for. Overall the food was excellent and all staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
