This restaurant is absolutely amazing me and the hubby have visited the restaurant 8 times + in 2 weeks the food is wonderful every dish we have had has arrived piping hot the steak and mushroom pie in my opinion is the best I have ever tasted. The food is lovingly presented the staff are really friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble, thank you to you all see you in March.

Superb roast dinner. Beef was lovely, fresh veg and huge Yorkshire pudding. Shared a dessert as was stuffed after dinner. Service also excellent. Would definitely return again if back in the area.

If you’re looking for friendly attentive service & incredible food that is prepared by chefs who care about their reputation then this is your no 1 place to visit in Cromer. The front of house team are so nice & friendly, nothing but a positive experience every time we visit. Thanks to all at the Amber, see you again in November.

We stayed at the Cromer Country Club for 4 nights. Every evening we ate at Amber. Its impossible to fault the food in any way. Between myself and my wife we had 8 different main courses over the 4 days. Every meal was of excellent quality. I'm not sure if this restaurant even knows how good they are ! By the way, the prices are also reasonable and portions very large. Overall a great experience.

Well what a hidden gem this is! Absolutely delicious food, huge portions, beautifully cooked and served. Lovely staff and great value. Well Done!

Visited Amber Bar and Restaurant during our stay at Cromer country club. Food was fantastic! We all enjoyed so much (including 2 kids with clean plates) that we returned for 3 evening meals. Staff were very friendly, prices reasonable and home made lasagne and seafood platter were our favourites. Dropped a point as took a long time for food to come out but was all very fresh and so worth waiting for. Take something to occupy kids while you wait!

Ordered the fish pie without cheese. When it arrived it looked great. Unfortunately the filling contained cheese. There was a reason for me asking for no cheese. The crab cakes were amazing though and hubby enjoyed his pie. Service was good and staff friendly.

Good value and excellent service. My husband had the prawn cocktail and home made fish pie. Both were very good and generous portions. I had the burger with sweet potato fries and side salad. The burger was well done, which is how I like it but may not suit everyone. Generous and tasty side salad.

Made a last minute reservation by telephone and were happy to accommodate us. Restaurant was busy with patrons from the country club, but food was served in timely manner by the staff, who were very helpful. Generous portions and very reasonable prices. Specials board had seafood platter which was marvellous. Would definitely recommend.

We lucked out when we picked this place to go for our evening meal. You never really know, do you. Let me tell you, we had a fantastic meal! The Prawn cocktail starter was probably the biggest I have ever had. It quite easily have been a main course. When my Steak Mushroom and Ale pie came to the table it was huge. I was completely full. But really wanted to try the Pineapple, Coconut upside down cake. So ordered it and forced it down. Every thing we ate was absolutely delicious. You are sitting in classy surroundings and being situated in the Cromer Country club you would think that it would cost a pretty penny. Not a bit of it. There must be plenty of pubs and restaurants in town that were more expensive than Ambers. A fantastic meal at a very keen price.

We stayed at the Cromer Country Club and booked for an evening meal on the Saturday Evening for myself, husband and daughter. I booked the table in advance at 3pm to have our evening meal at 8pm. Drinks 9/10 Vast range of drinks, superb selection of spirits, beers, wines and soft drinks Bar area 9/10 Lovely decor, comfy seating and attentive staff. Food 10/10 Wow, wow ! The food was amazing, hot, homemade, lovely choice and value for money. Superbly presented aswell. I had belly pork which was a special and my daughter had nuggets and chips. Hubby on the ale. Dessert - my daughter and I had a Strawberry Eton Mess to share. Overall we loved it in the bar and resurant and we will definitely return. Thanks to the ladies who served us and looked after us. You are doing and amazing job and you can tell they love their jobs and the meals they prepare are just superb. Thanks again

Never disappointed with any of the food at this restaurant. The staff are first class and even on very busy evenings, they whizz about making sure everyone is looked after. The steak was delicious and the seafood platter on the specials board was exceptional and adjusted to accommodate my husband who is gluten free. Ate there 3 times last week and couldn't fault a thing. Thank you. Only slight point ( nothing to do with food) was a singer who performed one night. We went to meet up with family ( 8 of us) and he was so loud you wouldn't hear yourself speak, maybe peg it down a bit?

Me and my partner visited the restaurant for dinner, as we were staying at the resort and the reviews looked good. However, our experience was very poor. The whole restaurant was awkward, one room with a few other people on other tables. It was a Saturday night with 0 atmosphere. Whilst we managed to eat our whole meal and finish up, the couple next to us were waiting for their bill for that period. We had planned for dessert etc but one worker was so rude, rolling her eyes at every customer request, we decided to just leave after one course. One worker bless her seemed stressed trying to keep the restaurant going as the other worker didn’t have a care in the world than talking to a table for the whole time we were there.

We are regular visitors to the Amber when we visit Cromer with our tourer caravan. Why? Simples, there’s no better eating & drinking venue in Cromer & surrounding areas! Reasons why we & the majority of patrons love this place are: - incredible food with a good menu choice & daily specials - the most friendly, attentive & professional front of house staff we have experienced - nice relaxed atmosphere There’s no wonder why the Amber gets such a high star rating, well deserved! Thanks Lou, Donna, Heather for your service & thanks to the kitchen team for producing such a high standard of cuisine time & time again, your ratings are well deserved.

Staff, service, food and “ambience” were very good, particularly the food. We ate on a very wet and chilly night and were seated near a door to the swimming pool, there was a slight, cool draught at times and the occasional waft of chlorine. But it didn’t spoil the food which was extremely good in quality and portion size, and reasonably priced. We must admit we had booked the restaurant expecting a bit of a chain/mass produced experience with it being on a country club but it was really good, would definitely go again.

Thankyou so much for looking after us. The food was fab as usual. You even cooked food for us that wasn’t on your menu. Highly recommend crab cakes, pork belly, linguine and the Sunday lunch. We had the crab cakes and camembert for starter which was lovely then we had the crab, prawn and spinach linguine which was so nice and full of crab! Wine was on the expensive side unfortunately. Over 10 of us went to the Amber Bar for dinner whilst on holiday visiting Cromer. Great food! Good portions! Very friendly service! Nothing more needs to be said! All empty plates going back at the end which always says a lot! Will definitely be returning when I next visit Cromer.

The best restaurant in Cromer. We stayed at the Cromer Country Club and ate here twice. The staff were friendly and the food delicious. I had the deep fried Brie to start which was very good, followed by linguine with crab and prawns, while my husband enjoyed crab fishcakes and a wonderful steak pie. On our second visit neither of us could resist the garlic mushrooms and crab salad. We only wished we had room for something from the desert menu - bread and butter pudding sounded good but we were too full up! We were really surprised this restaurant wasn’t busier as we found Cromer has numerous cafes and fish and chip shops, but very few good restaurants.

We stayed at Cromer Country Club and this bar and restaurant is on site at the Club. It is used by vacationing guests staying at the Club, vacationing guests staying nearby and by local residents.We have eatefn either at the Bar and Restaurant or by using their take away service 5 out of 6 nights. I meant to take photos of each meal but they looked and smelled so delicious I just dived it. Their menu and specials choices are varied and very reasonably priced. Their takeaway meny is taken from their on-site menu, although all items are not available as a take away, but most are. The staff are welcoming and friendly. Louise makes a lot of the homemade cakes which are available on the specials board most nights.The restaurant is very clean in the current pandemic, with both tables and seats being cleaned between guests and a one-way entrance and one-way exit. I finally remembered to take a photo of our Friday night dinner, fish & chips but a more accurate description might be whale and chips. The portions are very generous and must nights at least one of us has not been able to finish our meal. Fabulous food and service. A*

Cromer is short of restaurants so we were lucky that such a good one was on site at the Cromer Country Club, where we are staying. We are in several other restaurants in the area and this was the winner by a long way. Nice building, excellent Covid precautions and friendly staff. Excellent range of food on the menu and difficult to choose which to have, this has not been the case in other restaurants we have visited. Quality of the meals we have had has been excellent and extremely good value for money. One of the best restaurants we have visited, anywhere, for some time. Thoroughly recommend!

we have had dinner here 3 times whilst staying at Cromer country club. They certainly have done everything to make you safe from temperature checks and hand saniter for all people entering, prebookings essential, very spaced out tables, face masks for all diners and staff and tables and chairs thoroughly cleaned after use. The food was freshly cooked with a good choice of menu and value for money prices. I would recommend asking for extra curry saucy with the katsu chicken curry as it was quite dry but apart from that it was excellent especially the fish and chips.

We regularly visit the Amber Bar & restaurant when visiting the area with our touring caravan. Out of all the many places to eat & drink this is our no. 1 choice. Why, quite simple, very friendly & attentive staff, excellent food & a decent larger with a head on it!Our favourites are the Lsagne, Chicken Teriyaki & the Fish & Chips - not forgetting the mushy peas.Covid protection process excellent, even take your temperature on entry.Thanks Lou & team for repeated excellent & friendly service.

Staying at Cromer country club every year, we always eat at least once here. This year, due to covid restrictions, the restaurant filled up very quickly and we were lucky to get a booking. Wonderful food as always and the eat out to help out discount was a bonus too!

We ate here on a wet night in August. Due to the weather we drove to the site where there is ample parking. The restaurant is located in the Country Club about 20 minutes walk out of Cromer. We were shown to our table on arrival and were impressed at the spacing from other tables and the clear evidence of sensible precautions to ensure social distancing and infection control. The measures were not at all over the top or intrusive and our party found them reassuring. The food was excellent and the childrens menu was appreciated by the younger members of our party. Steaks were superb and drinks were reasonably priced. We had a baby with us and a clean high chair was provided and staff went out of their way to accommodate the children in the party. All in all an excellent night out despite the bad weather and a venue we would definitely recommend.

We visited as a family of 7 and were delighted with the outstanding, friendly service. The staff managed to follow all of the Covid-19 protocols whilst being warm and friendly, and the whole family was made to feel welcome. The food was as good as the service, and we were so impressed that we booked a second time for the same week.

We visited the restaurant as we were staying at the resort and it was convenient for our first night. We really enjoyed the food, it was hot, tasty, well prepared and served by really attentive staff who were well versed in all of the Covid requirements. I particularly liked the fact that smaller portions of some of the selections were available prevents a lot of food waste. Thoroughly nice meal and restaurant.

We had a very nice relaxed sunday lunch lots of very sensible Covid precautions in place The food was very nice and very hot.The lady serving us was so friendly and welcoming. You do need to wear a mask to go in but once in we did not have to ware it till we left.All round a very pleasant experience and good value for the money.

Completely over the top precautions about Covid. Despite temp checks, masks must be worn until your food is pretty much on your fork. By far the most unpleasant part of the visit were the hissy fits from Bryan (“it clearly says Byron on my name badge”) the waiter. 3 minutes after sitting down when asked if we were ready to order, we informed him that we might be a little while yet, but could we order some drinks? Cue a very dramatic eye roll and a sigh. This carried on all evening until a nice young man took over our table for the deserts (No idea where Bryan/Byron had disapprovingly sashayed off to).Not a pleasant experience, but food ok.

Never fails to provide excellent food in a very friendly environment. Excels in Covid compliance (some might think it's strange having cutlery / condiments being given in Tupperware containers but know that it is clean); feel very confident eating here. Great staff, great service and lovely place - cannot recommend highly enough!

First meal out for us since March so was looking forward to some nice food and to checking out the new normal! The food was outstanding, I had the morroccon chicken salad which was amazing.......that's what you call a very tasty salad, the flavours were beautiful. My partner had the katsu chicken curry and again he said it was so tasty, the chicken had a beautiful light crunchy crumb on it.....just wonderful! I have to say that even through these exceptional circumstances that we find ourselves in, the staff were happy, smiling and nothing was too much trouble. We both felt very safe, the staff were constantly wiping and cleaning down areas, all staff were wearing masks the whole time which let's face it cant be too pleasant for them! They really have put so much effort into their safety measures......well done to all of them. Thank you for a lovely meal in very relaxing surroundings and most of all many thanks for my first night in a long time that I haven't had to cook and wash up!!! We will definitely be back soon x

I’d like to thank the staff of the amber restaurants for all of the safety measures that they have put in place, their professionalism as well as still remaining happy and friendly in these difficult times. On top of that we have had a fantastic meal the steak and mushroom pie was huge with lots of steaming veg and creamy mash. We probably should’ve skipped the starter, which was also huge and very tasty I’m stuffed!!!Highly recommend

We had a fantastic family meal to celebrate my son-in-law’s birthday at the restaurant and we had an amazing night. The restaurant staff were excellent and worked efficiently and pleasantly while our party, ranging in age from 2 to 73, relaxed and had a great meal. The atmosphere was really good and, being December, the restaurant looked so pretty with the Christmas decorations and the tree. Many chose the Christmas menu but alternatives were also chosen from the restaurant menu, and the meals were hearty. One of the family members is a vegetarian and enjoyed her meal very much. The staff were friendly towards the children, and very attentive to the needs of my grandson who has a severe dairy allergy. All in all, a great success.

This is our fifth year spending Christmas in Cromer. We booked our table at Amber Restaurant earlier in the year as it soon gets full. Once again the food and service were exceptional. It was all well cooked, the vegetables were just cooked to our liking. Only one downside not enough brandy in the brandy sauce. Thanks to Louise, Andy and their team.

We stayed at the Cromer country club for 2 nights. We stayed here around the same time last year but didn’t eat here. So this year we thought we would give it a try. We are in the bar area, I had the pie and my husband had the fish and chips. The food was very good. Very good portion size, piping hot and well priced. The complex is lovely. The villas are cosy and well equipped. The staff are all helpful. Martin that hosts the evening entertainment is really nice and even recognised us from our visit last year. They keep all areas spotless. We will definitely visit again. Thank you for a nice relaxing break.

Whilst staying at the resort, decided to eat in the restaurant as you can choose to eat in the bar or attached restaurant and choose from both the Bar and Bistro menu, it was also reasonably priced. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the wait for the food was just right. When the food came, I have to say it was perfectly cooked and extremely tasty. I ate with my wife and friends and all agreed the food was excellent. If I lived closer I would eat here regularly.

The Restaurant is convenient when staying at Cromer Country Club. However that is its best feature. The food is well presented but that apart it is just average. We both had one of the specials, Beef Stroganoff but we have enjoyed this dish much more at other restaurants. The wine list is very basic. The floor bounces every time anyone walks past. Visited this restaurant twice in 2 days. Food was excellent on both days. Service on the first day was exemplary, on the second day our starters took 45 mins to arrive. Maybe they were short-handed but an explanation would have been nice.There is a bar menu & a restaurant menu. For some reason, if you sit in the restaurant and order from the bar menu then there is a £1 charge per item. I don't understand the logic of this. But we were told in advance that we would be charged extra - so that was ok.Wine selection was good too & not overpriced.Would recommend.

Had our first holiday meal at the Amber Restaurant to avoid having to do more driving. The meal exceeded expectations. My lamb rump was beautifully cooked to my specification and the accompanying vegetables were lovely. My partner enjoyed his seafood linguine (from the specials board)and he is very particular about his pasta.Nice atmosphere in the restaurant with good service.

The service was absolutely amazing in the Amber bar. We stayed in a little house aside to the country club and were stuck for meals out and about and family entertainment. we popped over to the country club and to our delight they kindly allowed us to dine and enjoy the entertainment facilities. entertainment manager Martin is a credit to the country club! he made our evenings very enjoyable full of fun and laughter! Have to say we absolutely loved him! All the staff were very attentive and efficient happy to do anything for you. Very polite abd helpful on all accounts. The food was top notch!.. fish and chips in particular was the best we've ever had! We cant rate them highly enough! We ate at the bar during our stay and the all of the staff were friendly. There is a selection of games to play, which our kids enjoyed and distracted them from the wait (even tho the time between ordering and service was small).

The four of us enjoyed a good home cooked Sunday Lunch. The food was served on hot plates- hooray- and was of very good standard, with generous portions. Desserts were yummy - with chocolate brownie a real hit. The young man who served us (Richard?) was exceptionally good at his job.Great value for money, too. Looking forward to going back .

There were 5 in our party including my 96 year old mother. We found the staff to be very accommodating and helpful.

We regularly visit Amber Bar. Food is excellent. My husband is coeliac so needs gluten free. When he wanted fish and chips Andy the chef went out of his way to do a gluten free batter for him- and he says they're the best fish and chips he's ever had. I prefer fish in breadcrumbs: when I mentioned this Andy cooked me fish in breadcrumbs. So accommodating, so friendly. The food is excellent and good value.

This is and has always been our favourite restaurant whilst staying in Cromer. We visit every year and stay on site at the Cromer Country Club. Louise, the proprietor, and her team offer excellent and friendly service as well as great food. It’s such a shame we’re not local, if we were we’d visit every week. We look forward to returning again next year, thank you!

Fish Pie was so Good that I had it both nights we ate here - Quality produce and well presented with fresh vegetables - Highly recommend You try it !

Spent New Year at Cromer country Club and visited Amber Restaurant. As usual the food served at the restaurant is excellent. Nothing is too much trouble and although i usually ask them to vary the food i choose they do all this without a murmer. Our thanks to the Chef and waiting staff.....they do not fail

It is not far from holiday home but never got round to going. Popped in for a cup of tea with wife and friend and found the barman very helpful; he explained how the service worked within what was very impressive surroundings. He could not be more helpful; the tea was excellent and we cannot wait to return to savour the food.

Amber Bar and Restaurant serves food, as its name suggests, in either a bar or restaurant setting. Best to make a reservation for the latter. The menu offers a good variety of choices, including vegetarian and they also do themed nights. The food is freshly prepared, generous and well worth waiting for while being prepared. The wine list is very good and the selection of beers is impressive. Friendly and helpful staff look after you well and ensure your satisfaction without being overbearing. Good value for money, thoroughly recommended. Bear in mind this place is embedded in a holiday resort, so there is entertainment organized for most evenings in the bar.

New menu was delicious, I had smoked mackerel pate followed by chicken with a mushroom and truffle sauce. My husband had crab cakes and lamb shank, all cooked beautifully and excellently presented. Only one problem, there was just too much, I couldn't finish it all

We ate here while staying at the Cromer Country Club. The restaurant itself is very pleasant & comfortable. The food was good, although the chips were slightly undercooked. The service was attentive without being intrusive. Altogether a very pleasant dining experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visits to this venue. The setting is lovely and the staff very helpful. The menu is very good and the food looked good and tasted fantastic.

I don't know why this restaurant is not in the top ten restaurants in Cromer. The food is very high quality, beautifully cooked and presented. Also very good value for money. We stayed at the Diamond Resorts Country club and only booked a table because we'd had a long drive to get there. However, the food was so good, we booked again for the following night. Lovely friendly waiters and waitresses, an excellent dining experience.

I booked the restaurant for a large family (20 persons) Sunday Lunch.

Run separately to the DR so although used mainly by people staying at the resort it also caters for passing trade. Has a good sized bar serving usual high selection of drinks, but you are also able to eat in the bar from the restaurant menu, which we did every night. The menu had a good variety of food available daily as well as speciality board each day. Prices compared very favourably with those in the town restaurant pubs and restaurants, and were often cheaper. We ate there for all 5 days of our stay, the food was cooked fresh, always arrived within expected time, and was very tasty. The staff were very friendly and delivered an excellent table service. We stayed when the World Football Cup was on and they screened the England games specially, with full bar and food menu available. I can highly recommend this restaurant.

We were staying at the Cromer Country Club so this was the restaurant on site, we ate there 4 times and was not disappointed. The price was reasonable. The decor was very nice.

We had breakfast and dinner on Saturday. Firstly I have to compliment Richard who was in charge of breakfast service, he was friendly, chatty and efficient, he explained that we could help ourselves to juice and tea or coffee, then took our order. Full English for my husband and egg and bacon bap for me, both arrived quickly, well cooked and hot. We were so full we didn't need to eat again until evening.

The website is currently under reconstruction, but we looked at their Facebook page and the food sounded interesting...but it didn't seem to bare any relation to what was actually on offer. We also didn't realise that it was not an independent of the country club. We were told we could only eat in the bar, despite the restaurant area being almost empty. The bar was clearly part of the family entertainment area for the club and not really a good place to eat surrounded by small children running around and a quiz taking place at the same time as we were trying to have a meal. The food wasn't awful, but wasn't that special either. Not what we were expecting.
