Amans Indian Restaurant in St. Helens

Really pleased we stumbled across this Indian. Service was great, helpful and friendly. Food plentiful and really tasty. The price was great too. Decor lovely.

Second time visitor asked for specifically because we’d enjoyed it so much last time. This time surprisingly quiet on Easter Sunday. The food as good as last time, if not better. The chicken tikka karahi was amazing. GF was her usual brave self with a chicken tikka masala (with a tiny bit of scary spice) and a whole naan bread to herself as I was pushed towards the mushroom rice. Nice atmosphere and a birthday week recognition for GFs Dad. Come again.

We live in the area and had just decided to nip in rather than get a take away. We arrived around 17.15 , were shown to our table right away. Just after we arrived a very large group arrived. They looked like a works party, it’s Good Friday tomorrow so probably celebrating an Easter break. The way the staff seated us and others who came in was very thoughtful, they made sure that we were able to enjoy our meal as far away from a big party as possible. Service was fast and efficient both in taking the order and bringing our food. The food was exceptional as always. Everything was freshly cooked and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Fantastic meal.

Excellent venue. We were a large group, so pre ordered for ease (this wasn't expected but helped them and us). The food was hot, delicious and of an excellent standard. We shall be back.

We came here for our friends 60th birthday. We were able to pre order our meals and the staff were nothing but professional, helpful and the manager Zaff was great, very friendly and the food was amazing! We will definitely be going back, thank you! ☺️💫

A small (over 2 floors) High Street restaurant with a good atmosphere (lots of birthdays!), nice interior and good staff. As for the menu it was excellent with a number of different types of dish - some a bit of a fusion such as peri peri chicken tikka which did its best to blow my head off!! I then had the chicken shashlik sizzler and shared a mushroom rice and chilli and garlic naan. Others had biryani, prawn rogan josh (I think) and a chicken tikka balti. It defeated some. Kingfisher on draught and a fairly price NZ Sauvignon that GF eventually shared, alongside very necessary jugs of water. With my own personal trio of Indian meals over the past few days it was the best of the lot.

Starters were dry and a bit bland. No salad & mint yogurt included with mixed starter which made it even more dry. Everything else was just average, nothing special. Overpriced for what it was.

Excellent food and service as always. A smashing IndianTables a bit close for comfort but can’t be helped.

Best Indian Ever!! Me and my partner come here for a curry on a regular basis and can’t fault the food! Almost tried every house special and not one has disappointed me.

We was sold a £50 3-course meal with entertainment (dancer we was told), fireworks and champagne. But rushed through the meal from 9pm done by 10pm. No entertainment as advertised just a DJ playing songs says a DJ/Singer on the advert? Sat upstairs despite booking early and getting there early and then moved by the staff 3 times to make space we assumed for dancers but must of just been for the speaker. So left after our meal otherwise we would of been sitting around for 2 hours waiting for fireworks which were actually hosted by the pub across the road anyway. So left feeling a bit ripped off unsure what we paid £20 extra each for. Disappointing as we like the restaurant just not what we was expecting for the price/originally told by staff.

The food in this restaurant is truly delicious and amazing! The staff are so helpful in helping you choose and will adjust dishes according to your taste. 10/10 for service. We’ve had many take-aways from Amans and the food is just as lovely as the restaurant. My only slight complaint is that the tables are far too close together. I wish they open upstairs more often and allow diners to spread out more!

Nice food. Staff friendly, but they did make a mistake with our booking, resulting with our party having to return 1.5 hours after our reservation.

Over charged for drinks, drinks on receipt that we hadn't ordered. My food was very bland and they were cramming people in to get the cash. Check your bills guys

Visited with friends for the first time on Saturday, the food was delicious and the service was excellent, the manager was friendly and took time to chat to us and check that we were happy with everything. We will be back!

We stopped by Amans on the off chances they could seat us, on a Saturday with no reservation. The host was super friendly and did everything he could to get us a seat in a very packed building. The food was absolutely amazing. Probably one of the nicest curry's I've had in a long time. The service was exceptional and quick and the place was spotless. Prices were very competitive, especially for a high street. The atmosphere was great as it was so busy and you could hear people having a good time with lots of laughter and chatter going on. Parking is a little bit of an issue as it is on a highstreet but don't let that put you off. We will 100% be going back to Amans, no doubt about that.

Favourite Indian on the High Street.

Average food. Very small inside so your sat right next to your fellow diners. The waiters continually try and upsell you dishes etc. It's not bad.

I always enjoy eating at Amans, as the food is always tasty and well cooked, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere, and the staff are always really friendly and helpful. Even on really busy nights, they're sure to communicate and apologise for any delays, which always keeps us happy as it's good customer service to be kept in the loop.

Obviously prices have had to increase , however the quality has dropped . My wife orders Korma as she does like spice , however on 2 occasions now the Korma menu has changed and is spicy . I have mention the price of papadoms at 95p each !! And the chutney containers only half full !! After many years I won’t be going back !

Went on 18th June with family (12 of us) for husbands birthday. Even though a big group of us, staff service, food, etc was amazing, would definitely go again. Have had takeaway meals on numerous occasions, but first time sitting in. Loved sitting near marine fish tank and watching fish etc.

Another great trip to Amans, were made to feel very welcome by the team on a Sunday evening despite not having booked. Food was lovely as ever and drinks were plentiful.

Always a pleasure going to Amans, customer service amazing, the staff are very attentive. Food always 10/10 and overall a clean place, a special thank you to the waiter called Shafi for always making us feel comfortable x

Very very good Indian food. Lamb Mint Curry is our favourite, the special Biryani is also up there and a top tip, get the paratha bread instead of naan. Eating in and taking out are both good options and price is reasonable.

Had never been here before, but was meeting family for a Christmas get-together. Food was ok, no complaints on the night. Sadly however the following morning it was evident i had food poisoning. Persistent nausea, diahoreeah and the room constantly spinning 😞. I was the only one who opted for king prawns, and the only one who fell ill. And no, it wasn't the ale, i was driving.

Was recomended to visit so 3 of us did . Bill came to £83 which was for 4 pints 6 pops and 3 mains with 2 chips 1 nann. I have never in all my 45 years of eating out , understood why people say this place or any other place is better than anywhere else, curry is just curry nothing more and this place was no exception to the rule. Pops were getting on the stale side nann was flat and like I say curry is just curry. To be honest and dont want to appear pompus but I can cook better myself .

Poor service, 45 min wait for poppodums and dips, starters came up over cooked prawns three out of four returned was replaced, mains came out honestly everything tasted the same the best thing about this whole experience was the poppodums and Naan bread, mixed tandoori grill was over cooked charred ! Very poor busy or not you have to be attentive there was none of that ! Sub standard cooking very disappointing couldn’t wait to leave to be honest

Definitely not a place to visit with a family for a peaceful and quiet meal. The place was overcrowded, noisy and the staff wasn't able or willing to bring the place to order. The one star is for food, which was really good.

This is, with no exaggeration, one of the best Indian meals I have had in years. Hats off to Aman and the chefs. Lovely menu, cleanly cooked, not greasy or heavy. Absolutely delicious.

We often visit Amans and the food is always delicious, all throughout lock down we have felt safe and welcome! Even love the music so much had to request the playlist. Keep doing what you do and will be visiting in the new year.

Staff are great and very friendly. Food is quality. Had takeaway a few times and it's always great, never had any problems. Even gave me an occasional bottle of beer on the house if i even had to wait more then a few minutes.
