Amans in Cheshire East

Visited on Christmas Eve. The restaurant was very busy but the staff were as welcoming as usual. The service was spot on and the food as good as usual. Always enjoy our visit to Amans and they always make us feel very welcome.

We put a take away order in the night before we needed it in person. No-one said this was more expensive and I should have done it on line. I did it the night before thinking I was doing the right thing. We finished up paying more than £1 per head extra for the privilege. The gentleman who took the order is management, he never said it was better to do the order on line. We have been eating there for years, we may have to reconsider.

First takeaway from here for quite some time. Firstly we were expected to order on a screen as if it’s a fast food chain. Eventually we managed to speak to someone to order and told they don’t do keema naan so ordered plain. When we got it home the chicken tikka masala tasted ok but was a bit watery. The naan was a joke…it was the smallest naan I’ve ever seen…no bigger than a side plate, may as well have ordered a chapati!

Chicken tikka bhuna was disgusting, didn’t even look like a bhuna, like a bowl of onions and base stock and the chicken was rubbery! Vegetable rice was like rice with tinned vegetables in it ! The bread was dry the bhaji was dry and everything was bland, lamb dish was greasy and fatty and devoid of any flavours! It’s like the chefs just bang out the food as fast as they can without any effort. Wouldn’t go back if it was free avoid if possible.

Visited Amans for an early dinner with family. Good varied menu without being overwhelming. Very attentive staff with very prompt service. Everything was served together and tasted excellent. We will be back.

Great selection to suit all palates helpful manager if you are struggling to select and a great bar with quality wines

Saturday night meal out. 1st time visiting this restaurant (won’t be our last). All was very Covid aware. The choice of food, presentation & taste was excellent. Keep up the good work. We’ll be back!

Three of us ate here this evening, the staff were excellent, food was first class. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. All tables separated by plastic shields, it felt a very safe environment to visit. Food arrived very quick and was very hot and was really lovely.

Perfect service. Great food. Easy ordering on the net. We ordered a take out but wish we had dined in the restaurant as it looked great.

Paid a fortune for a takeaway...hardly any meat in the dishes, tiny portions and not even any salad garnish for starters. Was told this was due to covid-19....

Dilipe and his staff have worked so hard to make the re-opening of the restaurant a safe, spacious and great experience. The welcome we receive is always great, the service is fantastic and the food always excellent.

A lovely unrushed meal of top quality cheerful staff who explained all dishes and made sure all was correct.

Great Indian in Congleton, lovely food highly recommend. If I'm going to day anything negative the service can be a bit slow in regard ordering etc, having saif that I'd rather that than be pestered so cant really compalin too much. Chicken Bhuna is fanstastic

Received awful service. Surly waiter. Fly in drink. No atmosphere in the place at all. Miserable experience.

Clearly they wanted to be shut, on a quiet Monday night. The service was downright rude and they couldn't wait to get rid of us. Spoiled a special celebration. I would never return.

We’ve been visiting Aman’s Indian restaurant since it first opened for both takeaway food & dining in. The food is consistently good quality and fairly priced and the staff are always very efficient and helpful. If you want to eat in or just have a takeaway, Aman’s is the best Indian in Congleton!!!

Went for first time last night with a part of 9 because of the reviews on here, they weren’t wrong ! Excellent setting/service and most of all quality food. I visit many many resteraunts and I have to say I will certainly be back again first class !

We went as a group of friends on New Year’s Eve , we all thought it was absolutely fantastic, we do visit regularly and can honestly say food and service are always exceptional Tuesday was no different and as it was so busy the staff all worked so hard all evening to make it a night to remember, the food was great the band made everyone want to have a dance nice glass of fizz at midnight and the most wonderful fireworks display thank you all for a great night see you all soon

Went for a meal for two & what can I say. When we walked in we loved the decor which is modern & the ambience is just great with the chandeliers. The staff led us to our table & took our drink orders straight away , excellent service. Our food was very nice too & we enjoyed it so much that we asked a waiter to pack it for us, but unfortunately whilst leaving we forgot our doggy bag but went back to the restaurant to get it but it was thrown away. It was our fault to be honest, but that didn't dampen our mood. Fantastic place, we will eat here again for sure.

We have been to Amans on numerous occasions so decided to book a table for New Years Eve. We had a great evening. The food was of the usual standard that we have come to expect and every member of staff worked hard to ensure that a good time was had by all. The band was entertaining and we even got up to have a dance. The night was rounded off with a very impressive firework display and a glass of bubbly as 2020 arrived.

The place itself is very nice great atmosphere brill staff nice bit of soft jazz music playing not the normal Indian sounds which can get a bit much after a while .food is cooked fresh and is worth the wait prices are competitive with other's in the area.

I have to concur with the last poster who states that the take away food from this restaurant is now inedible. Watery, tasteless curries and side dishes that all look and taste the same.

I have enjoyed meals in Amans restaurant in the past and was looking forward to my favourite dish chicken peshwari murgh. Sadly it was the most disappointing of meals. The sauce was watery, and flavourless, there wasn't any identifiable ingredients the menu claimed would be in it, for example, not a single sultana. The other two meals were equally disappointing, again thin watery sauce, no substance or creaminess to the sauce.

Have been coming here for quite a few years now and always receive a very warm welcome, even though we may not have been for a while they still remember us!! Had a birthday celebration (on the quiet!) and had a very enjoyable evening. See you again soon and definitely in December.

visited here for the 1st and last time , food was not all that and over priced

Visited a couple of times this month and made to feel very welcome. Tried new dishes which were of the same high standard. Lovely decor and polite knowledgeable staff. Always a pleasure to dine here.

Went for a family meal here last night, the food was incredible. So tasty and so obviously fresh with high quality ingredients. As a coeliac it is really important that the waiting staff make me feel safe before I eat and they did this amazingly. They clearly all had excellent knowledge of the menu and what I could and couldn’t eat. The service was also excellent and all the waiters were very attentive and made sure that we were satisfied throughout our meal. I would 100% recommend.

So disappointed with our take away, this restaurant is so hit and miss chose simple starts which were ok, but our mains rogan josh and a prawn Bhuna were tasteless, added colour to the josh to replicate the missing tomato flavour and the Bhuna was like a tasteless curry soup. So disappointed we drove from Warmingham maybe the chef was on holiday!!

Excellent food and service. Could not fault. We arrived around 9.30pm without booking, and were attended immediately. The food could not be faulted. I had a vegetarian option, my friend had chicken, we both thoroughly enjoyed.

From the minute we walked in the staff were very helpful and friendly, great decor and comfortable seating and then lovely food very professional run restaurant will definitely be regulars

Been many times and every curry we've ever ordered has been brilliant. Great service and amazing food.

Following over salted dine in, and being ignored on a busy night l had waited a few months then tried again with take out. l have loved this place but following tonight not again. over salted spicy dish. l like spice and heat but it does not wreck your taste buds and over salting is just that, sorry guys 3 strikes now.

We visited mid week, after deciding last minute to go out for a curry. Ideally placed at west heath precinct for free parking and a good level park for anyone with walking problems. We were greeted by a young lady who showed us to our table. It is very clean and very pleasantly decorated. A young waitor was very patient while we decided what we were going to eat. The house white wine was very nice. Our meal came everything was lovely and hot and we both really enjoyed our meal. There was a nice atmosphere the waitors friendly, helpful and cleared up quickly. We definitely will be going again.

1st visit to this place, couldn’t fault the experience, plenty of available parking outside, welcoming hosts and great food. Definitely go again based on this experience

We hadn't been here for a few months but when we walked in we were remembered! Very attentive, polite staff without being intrusive. As always the food was really good and what we expected. Service prompt but not rushed. Definitely won't leave it so long before we visit again.

We visited this restaurant with family, it doesn’t look much from outside as is in a small shopping precinct. However, once inside it is decorated really nicely and looks welcoming. The menu is extensive and all sounded enticing.

Came here for a double date and firstly the restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, the staff were welcoming as soon as we walked through the door, they were very attentive, and regularly came to see if everything was ok, or if we needed anything. The food itself was exquisite and arrived in a timely manner, The atmosphere was lovely, it was an overall relaxing environment to enjoy good company and the price was well worth the money. Will definitely be coming back here in the future.

This place consistently serves ace food never been disappointed & my fussy bro in law keeps trying different dishes & they never let him down Typical Indian cuisine for the British market but a cut above others

visited Amans recently with family for a birthday treat.

We had a midweek treat . The starters were very tasty , followed by a good curry . The staff are always great and we always have a good laugh with them.

We are new to the area and want to support local. We had family round so had a take away for six . There seemed to be a common trend of ‘ very red ‘ in all the meals . The sauces were bland . An extra charge of £2-50 to have an alternative sauce which was still bland seemed a bit excessive. Nothing really terrible but wouldn’t rush back

Visited here many times & always had excellent service & good food. Not sure if they've changed the chef or because we went on a Tuesday but the food was pretty awful. Chicken tikka came covered in bright red food colouring, aloo gobi was actually sweet as if sugar had been added. Service was good as always but won't be coming back again for chemically enhanced food!

It was our first visit to Aman’s last night and it’ll certainly be the first of many more! We booked for our parents silver wedding anniversary, 17 of us with 5 children. We were fortunate to have a large table at the back of the restaurant that was screened off, which meant we didn’t feel as though we would disturb other diners with there being so many of us. Cannot fault the service, from the booking right through to the meal. The food was delicious, the best Indian we’ve had, lots of recipes to discover too.

This used to be a nice Indian restaurant but our last two visits were more than disappointing. Went with a group of people and only one person liked their dish, everybody else gave up after half a plate. Too much red food colouring and all dishes looked the same, tasted bland and boring. Not going there again.

Had a fantastic meal last night! Great food, great service, friendly staff, beautiful place! We will definitely be back soon!

First time having a curry for Christmas dinner chose here because we have been a couple of times and always been good.

I like the atmosphere, when I am feeling valued. A visit after work for a treat, didn't go so well though after raising the issue directly, they confirmed that the dish was in fact too salty and appropriate actions given and accepted, its good to know that complaints are handled well and professionally,

We have sat in before and had great food, so we were slightly apprehensive about a take away. We should not have been worried, all the dishes were balanced and very tasty. Prawn Puri and lamb chops to start, large prawns in a tasty sauce which didn’t over power the prawns, lamb chops tender and full of flavour outstanding!!! Lamb madras one of the best I’ve eaten, yes hot but not over powering, so tasty. Chicken tikka bhuna full of flavour with an aloo gobi alongside. This was very very good Indian food well done to all at Amans

We had a very nice curry . The young lady that served us was excellent . We had a lovely starters and two good main courses .

Absolutely first class food served here. Very friendly helpful staff. Plenty of space not cramped, lovely decor and has a clean vibe about it. Not too busy but plenty going on in small groups.

Visited this restaurant with friends on a Thursday , the restaurant had few tables with other people so abit quiet. The deco is nice & modern & clean. Most Indian restaurant I would say are like that. Now the crucial food bit! The menu had many choices which is nice. Our drinks orders came very quickly whilst we were browsing the menu so far so good. The papadoms & starters were very nice. Our mains were very good too & since we all ordered different curries we all agreed each one tasted different & delicious. Service overall good but I would have liked our table to be cleared of the plates more quickly once we finished our meal. Overall a splendid meal & a modern place to eat hence the well deserved 5 stars!!

Took the youngest for her third Indian meal, which was absolutely delicious. The staff were lovely and friendly. The food was spiced lovely, not to hot for the youngster, but the hot dishes were just right. Price was right, no complaints at all.

An early curry tea as we celebrated an anniversary. Really good service and excelent food, full of flavour and an ample size portion for each of us. Really enjoyed the evening and so close to home.

We could tell the class of the place as soon as we walked in. Excellent modern décor.

I visit Amans quite regularly , the food is always beautiful and the staff you can’t fault! Service is fast and attentive, you are never waiting long for food even if you visit on a busy night.

Not much to say really, but this is the only Indian restaurant we will go to for either eat one for take out. Great meal every time first class service.

We regularly go and it’s always excellent. Ordered a takeaway yesterday and collected; got home which is about 20 mins away and realised they had put the wrong curry in. Phoned up and explained and the gentleman on the phone explained we could pick another one up. We said it’s ok as we don’t want to drive out again, he then said don’t worry and offered to deliver it! Considering they don’t deliver I thought this was top customer service. Food was fantastic as well. Couldn’t recommend any higher.

Went here with family. Staff very friendly and helpful. We were not rushed and food was excellent. The children were made welcome and food prepared for them. They have a good range of dishes and all our group were pleased with the standard.

I use this restaurant on a regular basis at least once a month. It has always delivered good food and service,better if you book for busy times weekend etc. I use their takeaway service as well and just as happy with that to. Not sure if they have reduced the portion size though.I will keep an eye on that one.

With a chilled atmosphere and plenty of house you can't go wrong! Plenty of veggie choices such as onion bajis, veggie samosas, dhals, biryani and many more!! Also, don't forget all the great meat selections, the butter chicken and korma are delicious! And the paneer kofta (lamb) there's plenty of choice of naans and rice and there's also plenty for the kids as Well! Brilliant place to go!

We took our friends for a night out..... have to au the food was lovely and was searched by very pleasant staff. The place is very modern decor and has a really nice ambience. Have to say our friends, who had never been before, really enjoyed it.

If it is busy when you arrive make sure you have a flask and some sandwiches with you because you will be in for a very long wait. We found this on Saturday night. We ordered and waited for 1.30 hours for our starters and...

I would agree with other reviews on decor atmosphere and staff. Excellent. We were a party of four and all ordered different, rice naan usual fayre very good. However all four curries looked the same glowing red. Two were good, generous chunks of lamb and chicken both enjoyed. Unfortunately the fish and prawn curries were...well soup. The fish had disintegrated during cooking and the prawns had been cooked so long they had shrunk to be undetectable so we ended up with glowing red sauce on rice. They did offer to knock 50% off the two bad mains but we did end up not paying at all for them. Amans I know Iceland is next door but please source better quality sea food.

We visited on a Saturday night with friends Glad we booked a table as it was very busy. Staff are very pleasant and the food is well presented and cooked to order. Good well balanced flavours dishes tend to be on the mild side so ask if you like a hot curry. Plush interior, not really a 10 pints of lager place!

Yum yum yum yum! Can you tell we love it here!! Been going to Amans for a couple of years, the food is always plentiful, piping hot and tasty, what’s more staff are welcoming, attentive and very courteous. They will quite often recommend new dishes to try to widen our variety of choice. We have introduced our friends and extended family to Amans and everyone loves it. There is a free car park straight outside the front door so couldn’t be more convenient for both dining or picking up a takeaway. We will be back!

Well as usual food fantastic staff seemed disoriented

We only meant to do a quick food shop nearby, but the smell of curry enticed us in!!!

We dont go anywhere else now even travel to come normally with my Fiancé, brought my Dad 2 days before Xmas was busy but still great service. Prob come least once a month

Had a take away from Amans, delightfully obliging staff, great food. The decor looks great, very interesting and clearly professionally done, looking forward to eating in.

I tried the Amans Stir fry it was really lovely and i will deffinatly have it again and it was good to catch up with colleagues from the past thank you. The staff are lovely to they cant be more helpful see you soon :-)

As in the past we four friends met up at this halfway house. The welcome on arrival was welcoming and cheerful. The food was excellent served in a timely manner by courteous and friendly people.

The meal was the best Indian meal I have ever had the service was first class the chicken chat was brilliant I had butter chicken which was the best I have ever tasted but my sister in law had mango chicken and wow it was fantastic

Hizo una parada en la ciudad y unschedule visitamos el restaurante para comer algo. Entramos y la decoración me dejaron alucinado. Deco preciosa, muy acogedor. Ahora el importante poco, la comida deliciosa, era justo, no puedo quejarme de nada realmente. El servicio era fantástico y el personal encantador. No he tenido el desierto estaba demasiado lleno. Si estoy en la ciudad de nuevo, sin duda.

We called in here by chance, on the way back from the airport after our holiday and having no food in the house we needed somewhere to eat.It opens at 5:30 and we arrived at 5:30, the first thing that strikes you is the decor , it is fabulous, and with the most stunning ornamental fish tanks.The staff are lovely and friendly, but would the food meet our initial expectations?Yes, absolutely, my wife thought her chicken korma was fantastic and I had the house speciality steak beef stirfry, which was lovely.We had the mixed starters and pumped arms, both lovely.We were both well impressed with the place and judging by the number of people eating early evening on a Wednesday night, there must be a lot of people that feel the same.

Nice enough restaurant and the staff were friendly. The curries we ordered were a flourescent red and tasted almost identical....one should have been a Madras and the other a Bhuna. The Madras was so tasteless and watery I didnt know if I should drink it or use a soup spoon! Had only 4 SMALL pieces of chicken in it....childs portion???? I did order a full adults main course. Next time I'm in Congleton I'm trying somewhere else!!! Thanks anyway, such a shame the food lets down the waiters and the decor....

the food was tasty and used to be value for money but we have noticed on our last visit that the portions have been cut down but the prices have gone up by quite a lot, so i wouldn't say it is value for money anymore, in fact far from it. Most of the staff were very helpful but there are always one or two bad apples that either couldn't be bothered or even rude

I am extremely disappointed to say that having had a takeaway from Aman's tonight, we are rather underwhelmed. This is usually one of our favourite Indian restaurants but tonight's takeaway was very average. I had a 'classic' tikka masala and the other half had an akbari cham cham, accompanied by a saag paneer side, naan,rice and poppadums with chutney. Both curries were watery as was the mango chutney, which was more like a runny sauce. The saag paneer was pale and unlike any saag dish I'd tasted from Aman's previously. The taste was not wholly unpleasant but the overall experience was far below what was expected. We'll be thinking twice about ordering from here again, and even dining in.

Went for evening meal. My sister recommended it and took us and she wasn't wrong. The food is so fresh. I recommend the Nepali if you like spicy but tasty. Service is brilliant they recommend dishes etc. Will definitely go again.

We’ve always had a good meal when we have eaten at Aman’s. There is a good choice of fish dishes, and the fish has been well cooked and succulent. I recommend the sea-bass dish, if you like your food spicy hot.I was disappointed that a restaurant of that size does not provide nappy changing facilities. The coloured lights and mirrors on the wall do provide entertainment for a baby – not to mention the fish tank!

My husband and I have have been here a few times as a couple but also with family. We also sometimes get a take away.The food Is great, the staff /service very good. Always seems busy when we've been so may need to book ahead.lots of parking space.

Our first visit to this fairly new restaurant. It was a Monday night so we were surprised at the number of diners. Lighting is quite dark especially for people with poor eyesight.Service and food were good but unless more waiters are available for busy nights, this might be a problem. Prices are on a par with most other Indian restaurants the area.We will visit again if travelling in he vicinity.

Visited with wife with a local couple who rank it as their favourite. Saag aloo was best I've ever had; fresh spinach! Good naan. Very friendly service. Will definitely visit again if in the area.

Staff brilliant they have helped me to embrace my new vegetarian lifestyle, with little tweaks to the food on the menus, I know I will have a wonderful dining experience.Now to the drinks, as a designated driver soft drinks always difficult, but try the non alcoholic cocktail best ever, thank you.
