A great venue for lunch or just a stop off for a coffee. Full selection of foods and drinks on offer. This visit we just had coffee and cake. An added bonus is that dogs are allowed too

We usually only go to the market for drinks but on this occasion had family with us, so decided to go there for breakfast. The app is a bit fussy, but only the most aggressively technophobic person would be unable to use it. Ordered breakfast from Tender Cow and coffee and tea from Market House Coffee. The tea came in pots, big enough for two cups. Latte came in the sort of glass I hadn't seen since primary school, far too small for its purpose. This coffee was drank before the food arrived. My spicy mushrooms on sourdough toast was delicious but at £12.00 I could knock it up myself and still have change from £2.00. Two members of our party had poached eggs and said that they were "bland at best". But the atmosphere was excellent, as you would expect. Lots of professional families out with their kids and dogs. Not great. But not bad. Just bang average. And overpriced.

I hate using apps at the best of times, their app is poor, even as a guest it wants ALL my details, limited card usage. As and when the food comes its good but the 20 minutes to just place an order is poor!

We arrived this evening. Nice atmosphere, found a table and sat down. The table was ridiculously dirty with left over food all over the table, used empty glasses and bowls of left over dips. Tided it ourselves and set about ordering online. Wine didn't arrive so went to collect it ourselves, not ideal given thats the point of the app and at £22 a bottle, the sever did apologise and said their runner had done a runner. Wine was lovely, I wouldn't expect anything else at that price. The wine tasted lovely. We had ordered our food and 3 mins later got told that we had half an hour to depart. Shocked we did say that we had only just ordered and not yet got our food or drink. The member of staff shrugged and said I'm sure you will fit it in, I explained that we were not aware they were due to close and perhaps the app or member of staff could have made us aware given we had ordered food from two different companies and a bottle of wine. We ordered food and drink at 5.25pm, told we had half hour to leave at 5.30pm (no food or drink had arrived obviously at that point). We collect our wine at about 5.40 and our food arrived at 5.43pm (yes I checked the time). At 5.50 we then got told again we had to leave at 6pm. Yes we had been sat with out food for 7 minutes and being told to get ready to leave. At this point the staff turned off the music, turned the lights on and started spraying all the tables with cleaning solution to clean them and folding all of the chairs away, nice atmosphere I think not! To say that ruined our experience is an understatement. Our food was at best poor, seriously way better places to eat at a much better price. Cold tacos, minimal steak on the sandwich (I couldn't eat any of it as it was loaded with rocket). We had to laugh at the absolute disgusting experience. We went £55 for 2 people and had 12 mins to eat and drink. Obviously we didn't get to finish any of it but more importantly than that an awful experience that no one cared about. This was a rare treat out, we have been poorly with covid and treated ourselves for a meal out whilst my husnabd was off shift without the kids for a rare change. Absolutely pointless. Never ever again will we visit this place and we live 5 mins walk away. They should have someone to advise people arriving what time they close if it is close to that time or have a message on the app. It appears they are happy to take your money without any thought to your dinning experience at all. Money grabbers! Absolutely gutted a rare treat out was utterly rubbish.

Had a meal with wife and ordered food from “Tender Cow” the name is completely misleading as the food was anything but tender. Ordered Steak, Eggs and Chips and and to be honest everything was poor. The steak was so tough I could not chew it, the eggs were uncooked throughout and snotty all over and the chips looked like they had been reheated and fried until they were solid. Add to this the filthy cutlery that we asked to change and the table which you could not touch as it was so sticky you would be risking some type of infection. Surely when spending the best part of £40 for meals you should expect better. Please go to Spain, Italy etc and take a leaf from sidewalk eateries as to how to serve fresh edible food and how to keep tables etc clean. It is a shame for the other food suppliers in the food hall but for us it’s “never again” Totally disgusted of Altrincham.

Came for lunch while car was being serviced. Shown to a very sticky table with splinters (frayed shirt cuff now) and told we could order on the app or someone would take our order after we browsed the menus inside. We quickly decided and asked to order. 30 minutes later we still hadn't been asked after repeated requests to serving staff. Finally ordered what was supposed to be tomatoes on foccacia. I've had foccacia many times before and would recognise it; we were served tomatoes on toast. I have to say the food was good apart from the bread but it's expensive and the service not good. Asked for coffee with milk but milk was forgotten. Wouldn't come here again.

This is the place that has made Altrincham a gastronomic destination. Lovely selection of food from different locations. Tender Cow for steak and meat, Honest Crust for Pizza, Great Northern Pie for well Pie, Little Window for more sophisticated Italian offerings and now there is Pico's for Burrito's and Taco's (not forgetting the frozen Margarita's and Banhvi for veggie options. I come here for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner (not on the same day) and all are great. There are different menu choices at different times. Each stall is quite small and not a mass market operation so if McD and KFC is your thing don't come here!

We used to come alot prior to covid and enjoyed it but its gradually down hill over time all the foods the same old overpriced garbage. Tender cow only sell burgers after 5pm, when asked if they can do me a burger at 4.30pm I was told a blunt, no. I've never heard so much rubbish of why they won't do a burger all day or half hour early as an exception. I had to wait half hour and then order. All the staff look very miserable and to top it off we HAD to pay £5 to enter and use cutlery and napkins. This used to be a fun warm place to come with friends and enjoy some local food but its gradually lost its buzz and its very dull and has lost its soul.

This is one of my favourite places to go for lunch or a coffee at the weekend. I often take guests here as well, as it has a lively atmosphere, great food and lovely staff. There is a massive variety of food choices, and there is plenty for vegans, vegetarians and many gluten and lactose free options. My favourite place to eat is Upper Crust, as they do amazing pizzas, but it is all amazing. It is in heart of Altrincham and a wonderful place for families i the day and doubles a a great bar in the evening.

In light of what's going on at present we decided to visit for lunch to support local businesses. We purchased food from Tender Cow.Not once did staff wash their hands and were continually handling food and touching their hair and mobile phones. This is surely important at the best of times never mind during our present crisis? Not impressed!

Yes, it may appear expensive but sit down and devour. Superbly consistent high quality plates of food. Menu stalwarts always enhanced with fabulous seasonal dishes. I’m gluten intolerant and there is always something gorgeous to eat here. Or sniff! Am I weird that I enjoy sniffing perfect thin base pizza bubbles? Probably. Sorry no pic of chocolate and orange groans from Wolf House. Ermmm I wolfed it! Glorious gluten free

Just got home after a visit to the food hall at Altrincham market. Three of us had the steak sandwich and one the avocado and poached egg. All of us were delighted with the quality of the food and agreed we've never had better. We're all retired and have done our share of travelling but agreed we've never tasted better! We're already planning our return. The atmosphere and service complemented the food. Well done to one and all! Sorry we didn't get a photo but we're so enjoying the food!

I enjoyed having dinner here, a great place to go with family and friends. The only down side to this place, there is no order to getting a table. People hover over you if you are not the hoverer over others waiting for a table. You order and pay at your chosen store, provide your table number and a server brings your food to you. They will then clean up the table and remove the plates when finished. Although I did not personally experience it, I am told some nights and afternoons there is a market of shops selling produce and gifts. I only tried three of the locations, my favorite was the Tender Cow. I can not imagine you would be disappointed with any of the options. Hey if you are from Canada, or just like brown gravy with your fires, order the fries(Chips) from tender cow and some brown gravy from North Pie to have with your fries. All in all there is something for everyone here. ENJOY !!!

The food is excellent and produced by independent traders not chains. The building and the streets around it have been reinvigorated, the atmosphere inside and outside the Market House is also excellent, and it's child / dog friendly. All of the streets around the market have been pedestrianised giving a very European / café culture feeling to the town centre. The prices appear to have gone up a little recently, and I've never been a fan of allowing dogs in a place where you eat and drink, but these are personal moans I have about the place and don't detract from its overall charm - it's a great place to go for a day or night out. It's always busy, it has good independent market traders, and most importantly it has totally revitalised the town centre. Altrincham would not be as successful as it now is without its market / Market House, which is the heart of the town centre. I love going there.

Very disappointed with this outfit within the Altrincham Market House. Came here with my family to celebrate my son’s 18th birthday. My husband went to the jack in the box counter with my daughter and she decided to try a beer that she hadn’t had before. She chose a beer in a can from the fridge which was then duly opened and poured. My husband was then asked for the best part of £10 for one 330ml can! The reason being that the alcohol volume was 10%!!!!!!!! Surely the servers have a duty of care to inform customers of the price and alcoholic content before opening drinks?

Altrincham market is very well known in the Greater Manchester area for the variety of things on offer. It has become much nicer since the place was given a face lift not long ago. It now offers very understated but stylish seating areas and artisan food products. It is always a delight to go every Saturday morning to get fresh fish, fruits, vegitables and freshly baked bread followed by a hearty breakfast or just a coffee in the market hall. There you will find young and old as well as families chilling out. There is even a children's play area to allow the parents to enjoy a break. The good thing is that it remains open every day except Monday and evenings until 10.00 pm (6.00 pm On Sunday). It is one good thing that happened to Altrincham and may it continue.

Democratic sit anywhere /eat anything/drink anything from the plethora of stalls, it makes for a wonderful anytime drop in and place to hang out. A very busy place and great atmosphere, however the staff in the wine and spirits stand in the corner of the inside of the building were rude, impatient and unprofessional so I certainly would not return to that particular outlet again. However this would not stop me from returning to try other outlets as the concept of lots of different food and drink outlets is appealing.

Food is pre-made & assembled to order. I enjoyed a wrap comprising of a cut up plant-based chicken burger served with a salad & sweet chilli dressing. It was a decent sized portion. Tables outside as well as inside. Great to see a number of options for vegans. Enjoyable through the plant based chicken burger will not be low in fat or calories. If this doesn’t bother you, it’s well worth trying. Offers a breakfast menu at 8am daily & throughout the day serves box meals, wraps, burgers (both meat & vegan), felafel, a salad bar & range of smoothies. Closes at 5pm daily.

What a welcoming pub! We were spending the week in Dunham Massey and just had to try the local pub. We were not disappointed. The Vine Inn welcomed our large group, including three young children, enthusiastically. Emily couldn’t have done more to make us feel comfortable and at ease, and she engaged brilliantly with the kids. Mark in the kitchen cooked up a storm and the plates were polished clean. Classic pub options and vegetarian/vegan options too. We were stuffed. And the pub will forever affectionately be known to us as “Emily’s Pub”, thanks to my three year old. (Note, as a Sam Smith pub there are no electronic devices allowed, which suited us down to the ground. Who doesn’t need a night off the grid?!)
