Stopped off for lunch before heading home and the food was lovely. Especially the chunky chips. Just think at lunchtime they should offer sandwiches as not everyone wants big Christmas dinners . We did wait a while for our children’s ice creams but it did seem there was one lovely young lady doing all the work. Be a Great place to visit in the summer.

The outdoor seating area is excellent, big lots of seats, and we enjoyed seating there after our bike ride. The kitchen wasn't open, but they had a 'hatch' that served garlic breads, chips, and tortillas. It's extremely extensive for quality. We spend 18 pounds on cheese garlic bread style pizza and chips. They were just ok, significantly better places to eat 10 mins away, but you're paying for the location. I'm not sure we'd come.bqck to eat but definitely for a beer in the gardens.

Not after a long day at Alton Towers… We purchased 4 meals, 2 beef burgers & 2 children’s meals. The food was good, a decent portion, hot and nicely cooked. There were good gluten free options. HOWEVER, we waited over 75 minutes for our food to be cooked. I checked my receipts before writing my review. After an hour, I asked whether our food was ready, I was told it was being plated up but I could see into the kitchen and it was clear, it was being cooked. We had been at Alton Towers since 10. We arrived here after the park had shut. I expected the pub to be a be rammed but it really wasn’t, which was nice. The grounds are beautiful but it’s in shade after 6.30ish (mid August) and we were freezing by the time we got our food. I listened to 3 other families all ask where their food was. The staff said they were sorry and that it had been busy but it really wasn’t as the picnic benches and tables were a quarter full. I’d popped inside the pub and that wasn’t full either. I can’t imagine what it would be like with a big function. I really wouldn’t choose to come again. Especially if it was a busy day or if I had the kids with me. Really disappointing time management. Again, the food, staff and grounds were all good but it just far took too long.

Welcome stop after day at Alton Towers Hotel. Lovely beer garden. Quite expensive for what you get but I suppose because of it’s close proximity to the park and beautiful location you pay for that privilege. Pizza and chips was good.

Superb scenery and we took shelter from the rain in a lovely gazebo. We ordered coffee and food, coffee was lovely and hot, but despite the area being empty we had to wait well over half an hour for a soup and a sandwich. Sandwich was from ordinary white bread not fresh and felt quite overpriced at nearly £12. Will try somewhere else on our next walk.

Came here yesterday and ordered a few pizzas for myself and the kids. We were all very tired after a long day at Alton towers and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. Kids food came out first which was a huge plus despite the garden being full. The river in the sunshine is like nowhere else. Not from the area but will definitely be coming back on our next visit. Thanks to the team especially the girl working on the hatch.

We decided to stop for dinner after a long day in the Park ( Alton Towers), location and scenery especially on a sunny day is amazing, grounds well kept with a lovely stream, I knew the pricing from the website and am more than happy to pay a premium for a quality meal in lovely settings. I got 3 pizza’s all served with cheddar cheese about 1cm thick in places, I love cheddar but halfway through the pizza it feel very rich and quite sickly, the tomato base was lovely and fresh and I couldn’t complain but the pizza base was a major let down, just a pre-made base from Asda I presume, thick and dense, undercooked and with the cheese made for a very stodgy meal. The chips again, £4.50 and didn’t even fill a burger container, undercooked with little flavour. You have to walk up to order and walk back again to collect, then walk to the pud next door to order a drink. I didn’t go into the actual restaurant so this is only a review based on the “Hatch Menu”.

Firstly I have to say the lady at the pizza hatch was lovely, that is the only positive. We were very hungry when we arrived and the pub was fully booked, in desperation we decided to get the pizza. The bases are pre-made (I saw the lady taking a base from a stack) probably bought at the local supermarket. The marinara was basically pasata with onion and the amount of cheese thrown on was enough for 3 pizzas. I had the vegetarian my partner had the pepperoni. The chips were also crap. Honestly if you are desperate for sustenance go to Asda round the corner and get a wrap. We wish we had.

This was our first time visiting the Bridge House Inn and it definitely won’t be our last. The staff were welcoming and personable as soon as we arrived, chatted with us freely while we waited for our table. The service was quick, and the food was lovely especially for the price. The decor also was right up my street, I loved the rustic feel of all of the stags and upholstery.

We booked a number of weeks ago for my sons 18th birthday, a party of nine. When we arrived we were told that our table wasn't ready- we could see other people were still eating. We went to the Talbot pub next door for a drink, which was fine. We were then invited back to our table. There were 8 seats around 3 small tables in the corner of the restaurant. I pointed out that we had a booking of 9 people, and it was suggested we squeezed in to make 9 places at the tables. This was unacceptable as it would have been impossible to enjoy our meal when seated like sardines in a can. After some negotiation, we were offered seating in the pub next door, the talbot, and choice of the same menu. We went to the talbot and the room upstairs was fine enough space for all of us. We then had to walk from the talbot pub, to the bridge when ordering food. Also drinks had to be ordered downstairs at the talbot and carried up the steep stairs by ourselves- no table service. When we ordered food, 3 of us wanted sirloin steak. We were told they only had a single rump steak available. We ordered alternatives of burgers which were fine other than the fries and onion rings being cold as they had to be carried from outside by the waitress. When we wanted a dessert I again had to go over from one pub to the other pub to order myself. However the pub was locked up and closed. Fortunately the barman from the Talbot pub spotted me and spoke to the kitchen. The waitress who served us was very good and did her best in the circumstances. Also the barman in the talbot pub was great and tried to help. Considering this was my sons 18th birthday celebration we weren't made to feel very special. The restaurant was massively over booked and we felt like an inconvenience. I have been a regular customer over the years, but after this experience I will not be having a meal here again.

Since we were staying at Alton Towers in the hotel, we decided to find an alternative restaurant for food. After finding the Alton Bridge Hotel we were completely smitten. Every item of food that went past looked simply divine. The chips are heaven sent, fat, chunky, brown home cut chips. I had the black and blue burger, which was beautifully cooked, tasty and huge. Hubby had the beef lasagne, served with chips. Which was plentiful and the children a burger and chips and battered nuggets and chips with beans. Only the nuggets weren't to my sons' taste as he didn't enjoy the batter, but the chicken inside was beautifully cooked. My daughter loved her burger. There didn't seem to be desserts for the children, so we ordered a chocolate fondue as a sharer... Huge! Hubby had the homemade cheesecake, which he said was unbelievably delicious. 5* food, 5* service. If we didn't live so far away, we'd be regulars!

We ate here for two of our three dinners, while staying at Alton Towers Resort. The food was reliably good, with quick and friendly service. We enjoyed everything we ate, as well as the lovely setting.

Myself and my husband stopped off here twice for dinner while staying locally for our trip to Alton Towers. Place was easy to find and had parking which was handy! Staff were welcoming and we were able to walk in with no booking. The food was great and reasonably priced. Good choice of items on the menu but we both picked the steak and ale pie twice because it was so good, the portion size was huge but defo not complaining!

Visited on Monday 30 September having called only half an hour before. We chose several items from the menu to share. Food, service and welcome excellent. Kids chicken nuggets were home made and really tasty.

Took my daughter after a day at Alton towers after reading trip advisor reviews looked really positive. Unfortunately as nice as the place is itself and staff really nice the lasagna I ordered ( which was homemade) was absolutely tasteless, had no flavour just mince pasta and white sauce on top, not a tomatoe or herb in site.

The Bridge is in a great setting with lots of grass for kids to run around on. The atmosphere, service and food were all great. Cannot recommend enough.

Just had a meal at Alton Bridge and I expected much more! Blue steak turned out medium and second steak was meant to be M/W turned out very well! And I actually never knew it was possible to over cook a gammon steak but it was very robbery Safe to say we won't be returning which is a shame because we really thought we had found a nice place to eat but just turned out to be an expensive lesson

A perfect little village pub & restaurant. Friendly staff, good food, good service. Would recommend to anyone staying in Alton or at the Alton Towers Hotel- tasty food and reasonable price. One small problem was the sticky table- our napkins stuck to the table and we had to peel them off. But good quality food and plenty of it! Parking opposite building in pub/ restaurant garden!

We were staying at an Alton Towers hotel but decided to eat at the Alton Bridge after reading reviews and seeing the cost of meals at the hotel. We enjoyed the food so much we Ate here both evenings we were away. The food was all home cooked and could not be faulted. There was a lot to choose from and they also have a large children’s menu with something for everyone. The beer is also very good so I have been told by others in our group. The pub also has a very nice riverside garden but unfortunately because of the weather we had to eat inside, a few wasps about as well. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It would be difficult to recommend a single dish because we all ate different meals each night and all of them were wonderful. Would highly recommended you pay them a visit if you are in the area but probably worth booking as they were turning people away.

Visited on recommendation of lady in village store to try the oatcakes. We both had cheese and they were yummy and good fuel for a yomp up The Roaches. Both ladies friendly, chatty & welcoming. We took a piece of toffee tiffin away to enjoy later in the day. PS: Bought 3 pkts of oatcakes to take home to share with friends & family!

The food was excellent service very friendly but entrance for disabled very poor had to go around back of building adjacent bins steep ramp, no ramp on double doors to restaurant had to be lifted over, think breaking the law on disability rules, will not go again until dramatic improvements made ,shame
