Booked in for 7.30pm didn’t get food (starter which was a prawn starter so no cooking) til 8.30pm. Had to say was leaving for them to bring out main meal which came out at 9pm. They are more concerned about fulfilling just eat orders. Will not be returning.

if you want to experience bad food poisoning then eat here! With 3/4 hours of eating worse I’ve ever had!! Bland food served warm, didn’t know what I was eating could of been cat for all we knew, very unusual presentation of the food, who puts a cherry on top of a tikka

It must be 14/15 years since I came here last. Having left the area. Decor is comfy & bright. Food is first class & Service very friendly & professional. Raj was very helpful in meal selection & very polite. Will definitely return. I will not leave it for another 14:15 years.

Ordered from here again thought I'd give them the benefit of the doubt to try again,don't know why I bothered,curry and rice turned up cold and chips were undercooked,I might aswell just peeled a potato and ate it that way,the naan bread is literally the size of a slice of bread,called to complain to say we were lying about the food and for them to be so rude and say'well what do you want me to do about it' honestly DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE.. I didn't want to give it 1 star!!!!

I’ve been to Alok, Great Bridge a handful of times over the years and it’s always been a pleasant experience. Yesterday we went mob-handed with 20 of us but they dealt with us very well. The orders were taken efficiently and sorted by name for easy payment at the end. My Chicken Shaslik starter, Tauna Murgh main course and Sag Aloo side order were superb in terms of flavour, texture and volume, and the waiters always placed the correct food in front of us. The sauces which came with the poppadoms were lovely too. It’s a ‘bring your own booze’ place but there’s an off-license nearby. I would highly recommend this place for a super dining experience at a fair price.

I suspect this Great Bridge restaurant might get overlooked due its location, this would be a shame for both them and you. We really enjoyed our Friday night meal here and it was evident that they take extra care and pride in what they do. Be this the dips with the poppadoms, the salad with the sheekh kebab and the chicken tikka in my pathia, which was the best I have had in a very long time. Apart from the meagre portion of chips we couldn't find any fault with the food. Indeed it would have been a faultless night if the service had been a bit more attentive and not distracted by the football on the TV, and the atmosphere not been taken over by the loud and less than appealing background music. Not that these would put me off returning. It's also a competitively priced menu and that's not taking into account their midweek special offer, or the added bonus of being able to take your own alcohol.

The staff all try to give the very best service. They are attentive and knowledgeable. The menu has a wide range of food so there will be something for everyone to choose. The décor is modern enough with enough space between tables. An enjoyable experience.

Really enjoyed my trip to this curry house with my brother. One of the best in the areas. Fairly priced and set menu special is highly recommended Good selection of balti dishes. Friendly staff.

Ordered a takeaway, the food was really nice portions were good too. Free popadoms and dips were very welcome. Inside looks clean and welcoming. Thank you for a lovely takeaway I will eat here again. No faults to find.

Tried Alok after being recommended to us. Had a few takeaways during lockdown. This was by far the best. Only 25min late which is understandable during this time. Food was hot and delicious. Our new fave take away.

Ordered Lamb madras, Chicken bhuna, and some chips .sorry to say but the curries had no flavor at all and the chips were not fried properly either.

I organised a meal for a party of 24 last night. First of the the table looked really fabulous. They had taken the time to put everything you could wish for and it was tasteful. The food was really good, hot and all orders were correct. Nothing missing. And considering there were so many of us we were prepared to wait but no, the service was excellent and we didn't wait that long at all. We all had a great night, tho we have been before many times. I have no reservations about going again. Highly recommended and thanks to all the guys there.

I have been a customer for as long as I can remember! 8 years plus?. The food here is absolutely​ amazing, each time I visit it's like the very first time experienceing the sensational tastes. I would highly recommend this restaurant.The food is well presented and taste is consistent.👍🏾

We usually eat at the restaurant but for a change we ordered delivery it came on time food was delivered hot and to the same taste as eating at the Alok will be using again

I visited on Tuesday with 2friends one was 85yrs never been to an Indian restaurant before let alone eat spicy food. She loved every moment and the staff where so helpful on recommending what to try . I have been here a few times and the service and food is always fantastic I cannot recommend this place so much you have to try it it's fantastic.

Having lived in Tipton for 2 years I finally got round to finding a decent curry house. We couldn't fault Alok super friendly staff, nice and friendly laid-back atmosphere and fab food, looking forward to a return visit

Been there a couple of times athough the food is ok.to good.it could be a little warmer.and a warm plate makes all the difference.

I went out for a meal with friends who had visited before. Sorry to say but I was very disappointed with the food.

This Bangladesh based restaurant is very good ,the food is spiced to perfection not killed with chilli or bland the presentation is perfect and the staff are very cheerful and helpful ,they do a 4 course meal midweek for 10.99 that consists of poppadoms to start with dips ,followed by a starter , a curry and naan or rice of your choice the portions are very fair for the price you pay and you always get a wet hot tissue and a small chocolate to finish, we try to go once a month you will be hard pushed to beat this place. p s take your own drinks in they don't mind

Went here New Year’s Eve with family, fantastic menu, lovly food, more than enough, excellent service and staff, always nice helpful and can’t do enough fir you, will always go when bak in Tipton, highly recommend

Try to go about once a month. Every time we have gone it has always been a very good experience. The staff are very friendly. The food is always freshly cooked and presented perfectly. Prices for both food and drink are reasonable. During the week service is very quick,but the wait at the weekend is still worth it because of the quality of the meal.

We've been going to Alok from the day it opened and have never been disappointed. Many years ago it was our local curry house and now we travel 10 miles as nothing we have tried matches up.

i have visited the alok quite often and have always found the food very tasty and quite good for the money . we have been has a family and as a pair and service is always good . we now order our takeaways from there

first visit -we booked a large party of 12 for family birthday- no problems, welcomed, seated great, food orders taken swiftly, served very quickly & hot! tasted great, next course just perfectly done! portion size just right for no wastage and not left wanting more!...

If there's something to celebrate Alok is always our number one choice. Staff are so friendly and accommodating. Food is gorgous and is Always presented really well. Menu has lots of choice and Restaurant is clean and has a nice decor.

sent for a curry...chips were cold and tasted warmed up..no salad or green sauce like every other take away..no popadoms either curry was average to say the best..

Had a wonderful time at Alok great service and even better food, recommend to anyone in the area, bostin grub and can cater for bigger parties too

Visited this restaurant three times in the past few weeks now and every time my family and I have had different dishes both off the menu and a couple of special dishes that have been suggested by the waiter. All times the food has been first class, tasty, hot and freshly cooked. All delivered with great service.

I went with my 3 Brothers to this superIndian Restaurant 14 July.Superb service. Family owned restaurant. 4 brothers and father is the main chef.Very clean.Monday to Thursday is a 4 course dinner for£9.95- what great value.The food was good as the Bilash in Wolverhampton - who have a Michlen star!Fantastic taste and value.Can take your own drinks in also!!Will be going again soon.

Hi went to Alok with friends the food was superb only down side was the speed of service waited nearly one hour for main course. Food was very tasty and presented brilliantly will definitely return hopefully service will be sharper.

Hadn't eaten here before until my mom and dad went and highly recommended it so we gave it a try. The staff are so friendly and talkative, the food is absolutely lovely. Little pricey compared to some Indian restaurants we have visited in the past but it is most definitely worth every penny. Excellent!

Staff food 100% so all good that why we comes so often the. Staff all you got to do is ask they sort asap the decor is good seat brill and look after every one and the kids

We have gotten to know the staff at Alok. Always helpful, and very attentive. They have become good friends of our family.They will go above and beyond to make your experience there lovely and relaxed.The food is absolutely top notch every single time! If you like your dish a certain way they will always do their best to accommodate to your needs or preferences. The presentation of the food is beautiful as well.They cater for very large groups and still have excellent service.The atmosphere is relaxed. Comfortable and contemporary surroundings.Great prices, including their Sunday-Thursday £9.95 deal. Amazing staff, amazing food.I would 110% recommend Alok!

Had a take away from here. Never again. Few vegetables in my vegetable vindaloo, which was unlike any I have had before: really sweet and not spicy.

Thought we'd try an Indian out of town, were from Cannock so this was quite a distance, but worth it! A beautiful modern setting, friendly welcoming and service. Food full of flavour and at a decent price too! Presentation is a* and more, so much detail goes into the food and it makes a difference. Love how items such as plates and pots have the restaurant name on, gives a good impression. 2 starters, 2 mains, 3 sides, and Plenty of drinks (including alcohol) and it came to £43! Will certainly be returning again. Thanks guys

Alok is my all time favourite restaurant. I can say that I have never, ever had a bad meal there. We are good friends with the staff members and have been for years. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, background music plays while you eat and chat with friends and family. The décor is lovely, it is very clean. Can't fault them 1 bit.

I liked the food which was tasty but the service could do with improving! I ordered a drink which I had to ask for twice before I finally reached it.

My wife and I go out for curries with friends every few months, which was last night at the Alok, but we always go on our own first to make sure it is worthy and it did not disappoint on either occasion, the food is excellent and so are the staff, they are all really friendly, will definitely return again

If you want a comfortable evening that's value for money where you can feel relaxed and enjoy great food this is it. As a family we have visited this restaurant several times and never been disappointed, there is lots of choice and it is always good quality but by far best of all is how accommodating they are. If what you want isn't quite the same as on the menu then that's no problem as long as their customers are happy and enjoy their meal.The waiters are extremely friendly and make you feel really at home, nothing at all is too much trouble right down to keeping spare glasses in case you need them to read the menu!!Super value particularly the £9.99 all in price they offer during the week, that and the fact that you take your own drinks make the whole evening brilliant value as well as very enjoyableWe will be back very soon

I ordered a starter and main meal as a takeaway whilst staying at a fairly local hotel on a business trip. The food came packaged really well, arrived in good time and was extremely hot. The food was cooked to perfection and the fresh salad came packaged well too. Portion sizes were good and plenty left for lunch the next day. Would definitely recommend the food and takeaway service. Excellent value for money too.

Ate with my husband on a Saturday night.The place was relatively quiet.Service was quick and waiters attentive.The food we ordered was tasty and arrived quickly. Free poppadoms and dips too.There are some mistakes on the drinks menu and the decor is now looking really dated but otherwise a superb meal.

Omg this place is amazing, so easy to order online & tastes absolutely gorgeous. I have used most curry places in & around Tipton & Alok is most defiantly the best !!!

We ordered a curry in, we called and were advised it would take 40 minutes, it took well over an hour, however that was ok. The problem was that when the food arrived it was ALL cold. The chips were freezing, Naan bread was cold and the curry was swimming in congealed fat. (mush on a plate to be exact). I called the restaurant as I wanted them to know that the food was poor, and cold. The first gentleman was polite and apologetic and put us through to another person. Who was rude, arrogant and un interested. He simply said " what do you want me to do? its already been delivered so nothing I can do". His attitude was appalling, I didn't ask for a refund or anything I just wanted him to know we were un happy - He put the phone down on me and said nothing he can do.. I would NOT use them again, even if the food had been warm it was like a mushy consistency and fill of fat swimming on the top - Not even fit for the bin. - We paid £45 for food to be thrown away!!

Parking isn't always easy outside or nearby but the restaurant don't promise parking spaces anyway. During the festive season, they do their own excellent spicy foods AND typical UK Christmas Dinner meals.

Not been to Alok since August last year, wow we have missed out, as ever the lads there offer a warm and friendly welcome almost as if we have never been away.. They never forget anyone... Some things never change " the Menu" why should it? It's perfect something for everyone from traditional dishes or contemporary with the added bonus of the Alok Specials.. A great evening, great food and great service.. We don't intend to leave it so long this time.. Thank you Alok....

We're from London, but when in Birmingham always make sure we sample their fantastic cuisine.The staff, who are all family, are super friendly and helpful when it comes to ordering, especially if you don't know what you fancy from their vast menu.This trip my husband's Butter Chicken was the best one he's had. I ordered half portions of my favorite curry in the world, a Dhansak, and they created a 'Chicken chilli Paneer' dish just for me, then crowded it with the biggest Naan bread I'd seen in my life. Everything was amazing and served with a smile as though nothing was too much trouble. I can't wait for next time!!!

Poor service, sarcastic staff. Long wait for drinks, even longer to order and for food to arrive. I ordered prawn curry.. I've never seen or tasted prawn curry like that before. I'll never go back

We have been using this restaurant on and off over the last 6/7 years and never have i been able to fault it. The owner brothers are black country boys who bend over backwards to help you. The menu is varied and good in its standards and Alok specials. Can't make your mind up they will cook you half of one curry and half of another .. Once again our visit met our expectations it was spot on and as always brill value 10 heads les than £140 with drinks ..

Visited here with my aunt and wife.We love the fact you can mix and match your dishes - they offer a half and half which I think is great if you want a bit of everything.We ordered 2 starters and 4 mains (8 halves). Quite the variety and each dish tasted amazing!A bit too much sugar in the naan for my liking (should be more savoury than sweet) and the drinks could be in bigger glasses but overall for what we paid, can't complain.

This is the second time that we have been to this restaurant, and on both occasions it has been very good. Be prepared for a hard choice though as the menu is quite extensive.The prices are also very reasonable, it is definitely worth a visit.

I've been coming here with my family since it opened, I started off having English food as I never tried anything new but they even advised what kind of thing to have for a first time curry eater! The staff are all so polite and friendly, even brought my mom and dad flowers on their anniversary and a little cake for my birthday, you don't get that anywhere else! The food is always great, well presented and plenty of it, if there are ever any mistakes made (bare in mind we are all human) then they are put right with no questions asked and a sincere apology too! The staff all work so hard in ensuring excellent customer service with a friendly smile, I would defiantly recommend to anyone looking for a nice pleasant evening in a lovely restaurant!

I visit this place regularly and have only ever had superb food. Everything about the place from food to drink to service is world class. I can not speak highly enough of it. No matter what you order you will enjoy, for sure.

Ordered takeaway online through there website,had me a mixed starter which was cold when it arrived.Ordered a vindaloo obviously chef has not got a clue what one is,I basically had a chicken tikka curry with chilli powder added to make it hot,absolutely no effort was made to make it properly.Balti nites down the road is way way better than this place.Won't be ordering again that's for deffinate.

We ate here on a Sunday evening. I would even like to say that the food tasted awful as it would have some taste. But everything we had was so tasteless. Would never eat here again.

Food was awful, ordered a daal which was just water and the duck starter which didn't taste like duck had a weird after taste.. For £3.50 u get about 5 dry tiny pieces.. Complete rip off!!! Service and restaurant was ok but they need a new chef!!

Great food with flavour. Service exceptional. Slighty more expensive than most, but, worth every penny. Quality food served hot at the table. Good portion sizes, well balanced with spices, to give a lovely flavour without blowing all of your taste senses away. Great place for a slow paced, intimate meal.
