CUSTOMERS TALK ABOUT DISHES WITH.. coffee

comment_iconOpinions

very conveniently located but I would 10000% recommend crossing over the road and going to Jolene's. Don't go near the mochas here unless you like 4 sugars in your coffee to mask the horrendous bitterness. service is alright but its clear that they hope the coffee 'speaks for itself' and at £4.40 for a small takeaway cup I am not happy

I could taste milk in the coffee. Cannot taste coffee at all. Nothing great about it. If you want it strong, you have to add a shot and that makes your coffee expensive. There are other coffees that tastes better.

I have been visiting Allpress in Redchurch Street for years and feel terrible about not writing a review sooner. I pop in there pretty much every Sunday morning on my way to Columbia Road Flower Market. While there is no shortage of trendy coffee shops to choose from in East London, Allpress is the one that always keeps me coming back week after week. The coffee is the main attraction, of course, but there is also something reassuring about the quiet reverence the staff give to its making. It is not a noisy, chatty place and, with its pencil thin tables and small pert stools, it might seem a little austere to some, but that's exactly what I like about it. Perhaps it reminds me of going to church when I was a child! Having said that, there is always a polite queue of well-heeled coffee aficionados lined up ahead of me when I arrive... other supplicants, like me, seeking instant enlightenment in a coffee cup. Highly recommended!!

비온는 날 방문해서 커피도 맛있고 분 위기는 좋았던거 같아요 안에 자리가 많지 않아 앉아서 먹기 쉽지 않은듯? 브릭레인 마켓에서 조금 떨어져 있어요

The coffee is the star of the show and is well worth the queue. The beans are roasted just behind the glass wall. The pastries are pretty decent.

You know you have come to a temple of coffee - it tastes good, it is treated with reverence. Pity about the service which spoilt the experience - no greeting, felt disinterested & looked like bored mannequins. Yup I come for good coffee. But a cheery welcome and good attitude is free and keep people going to competitors like Pret - you can bet it is not about their food quality tho it is adequate. Hope this service is a one off. Good coffee plus good service would have been ideal

Undoubtedly THE best coffee I’ve had in London! The coffee is smooth, and tastes divine. If you’re a coffee connoisseur, you'll love Allpress! One thing to note, the only dairy alternative they have is oat milk.

Small menu but terrific sandwiches and bites. Pretty generous portions. The cheese with broccoli sandwich is worth travelling far for. Eggs, ham, avocado and cheese dish was very good and plenty of bread and toast to go with it so didn’t run out. Cool place, good coffee. Huge coffee bean grinder in view. Highly recommended. Even bought a large empty coffee bag for £1 - money to a local school - just because it was a cool thing to have hanging at home.

Kiwi owned coffee shop so assumed to be the “best in the world”. Roastery has moved down the road a few miles to Dalston. It was once on-site here at Redchurch Street. Hence the coffee shop has now got smaller. A shame as feels a little cramped as its always busy. Seems to be on the tourist trail, so generates a lot of business. Coffee itself is the usual artisan stuff. Couple of 10ps more expensive than the chains. Order a large if you wish to have decent sized cup. Service was friendly. Order taken and paid for quickly. But a bit of a wait in the overcrowded shop while it was being made by one barista on one machine. Who was chatting with colleagues throughout working. Non-dairy option was only Almond milk when I was there. Coffee officandos like a choice. A shame that the superior tasting Bon Soy was not an option or oat milk which gives a good creamy taste to lattes for example. Just to be aware there is a huge range of indie coffee shops in the area. Redchurch Street has several. The street is top and tailed by branches of the ubiquitous Pret. Both in spacious branches. But coffees not a patch on a real barista made coffee.

I'd heard loads about Allpress and finally decided to stop in one morning while in the area. It was a bit smaller than expected, which isn't a bad thing, however if it's busy and you want to sit for a bit it can be an issue. The coffee lives up to the hype, the staff are friendly enough, and the food options are good for a location of it's size. I'll definitely stop back in the next time I'm in the area!

Our table wasn’t cleaned, not even after sitting down. The waiter gave us an extra flat cider that she took 10 minutes to pour and the food delivered was overcooked and un-palatable. Poor experience

Great food, great coffee, great juice, great price. Got there at 11.30 on a Saturday morning and didn’t have to queue for a table. Healthy portions as well! Great big fan, will come again. Just great
