Criminally underrated honestly. The food was incredible, very reasonably priced and the quality and quantity of the meats were 10/10. Hot dogs are honestly the best I've had. Highly recommend the Hole In The Road burger but everything else we tried was perfect too, couldn't fault it. Staff were lovely and friendly as well.

Treat myself at least once a week with a burger and fries. Sooooooo good. If you love gherkins then these burgers are for you cause the buns are full of em, don’t worry, you can take them off if you’re not a fan. Skin on fries and a saucy dip just complete my lunch for the day. Atmosphere is buzzing every time I go in with some music and interaction with the staff. Xmas is like santas grotto with one of the biggest blow-up Santa's this far south of the North Pole. Fun times every time.

I’ve wanted to try All Hopes No Promises for ages but just never quite got around to it and wow I wished I had gone before. Three of us visited at about 7.30 on Friday night. A member of staff pointed us to a table, gave us menus and explained how to order (…at the bar). All the tables are hill simple stripped wood, a mixture of normal height tables or higher ones with bar stools. We all ordered different beers and burgers - mine was the ‘hole in the wall’ served in a bagel with pastrami on top of the burger. The food took about 15 minutes to arrive, which was a reassuring length of time. The server also offered additional condiments. The burgers were amazing! Really moist, tasty and packed with toppings. They were served with a generous side of seasoned fries - if I have a small criticism, it is that the fries were over seasoned and a bit too salty, but that’s personal taste. The beer range was good, I had a Irn Bru sour that really hit the spot. Again, one small suggestion for the venue, the bar area isn’t huge and the range and details of the beers can be difficult to see when a few people are standing around. A board with the beer details on or something to help customs would be welcome. Prices were very fair for the amount of food we had, my burger, fries and pint came to just under £20. In summary, this is a fantastic venue with really friendly staff, top quality food and a good choice of drinks. I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to go here but I’ll be back again very soon.

We visited yesterday with our family. The best burgers we have ever eaten!! We took our nearly 2 year old and on realising we were going to buy her a kids meal the manager said it would be to big and asked the chefs to cook her a smaller version free of charge! I offered to pay but they wouldn't take it.Things like this really stand out compared to large businesses. We will deffo be back. :)

This place never fails to amaze me with their amazing fresh burger and stunning sauce. It’s my fave. Always come here for food as it never disappoints!!

Amazing place to eat and drink, staff are awesome, The place to go in Lancaster. A real treat everytime we go. When it was Christmas the hot chocolate was the best we have ever tasted. Very reasonably priced aswell.

Visit frequently since moving to Lancaster in August 2023; really good atmosphere and popular with students and families due to the well-liked food menu. Good range of beers, ciders and lagers and staff always friendly. Kept clean and nicely decorated for annual events such as Halloween and Christmas. Personally, as a huge proponent of venues accepting cash payments, thus not excluding vulnerable members of society, I was especially pleased to note that All Hopes No Promises Lancaster openly support payment in Cash, that is a big plus from me.

You WILL NOT find a better burger in lancaster for the quality and service. The chips. Amazing. The burgers. To die for. I've eaten all over the world and these burgers are THE BEST. 10/10 will always come back

Great for the kids, we are regular customers. Food is spot on, tasty really good portion sizes. Kids love the cellar game room. Great gin collection really nice pint and all the staff are very welcoming attentive without over doing it. It's always our first choice.

Truely belting burger, super chilled but efficient service and great atmos. Can't believe I've not dropped in here before. The downstairs retro games room with Golden eye and Street fighter 2 amongst other is awesome.

Came for drinks. Saturday night. Staff were so friendly, cocktails were amazing. Had the the Mr Grinch which was full of candy flops and really cool. Finally found a table that someone had just vacated and was followed by a staff member ready to clean the table which never happens when it's this busy. Service here is just excellent. Live music was also ace.

went there for school lunch, best chips I have ever had, going into the lower floor was an experience aswell, got to play street fighter with my friends whilst waiting. their smashed sauce is immense, staff are friendly. burgers were lovely, though food could have been a little faster (if we're being critical, but it's still faster than some). Stairs are steep but you don't have to use them. Discount for students during school lunch and just after school ends which is great, just a little cramped is all.

10/10 scran and they serve Beavertown by the stein, what more could you want 🤤

Brilliant place to eat. I had the halloumi burger and I will truly say it was the best burger I have ever had. The burger was juicy, the lettuce was crunchy fresh and the fries were perfectly spiced and seasoned. Along with it, we had halloumi fries and a gravy dunk that was graciously given to us by the manger, who was a pleasure to talk to and truly knows what it means to take care of his customers. You can tell all the ingredients are fresh and fairly priced as well - the food could easily be priced higher. We ordered cocktails that were excellent twists on classics. The atmosphere was top tier, especially the retro video games in the basement which added great entertainment to an already excellent experience.

Great place, they really care about how you want your burger, do not be afraid to ask them about how you need it cooking. I need my burgers medium well and the chef cooked it to perfection. The gravy dunker was a great addition for your chips and chicken strips, and they also prepare drinks to your speciality as well. Overall I would really recommend the place, down to earth, fresh good burgers, and at the end of the day, why would you want anything else?

Amazing food! The burgers and fries were sooo good, the staff are funny as hell and friendly too! Atmosphere was great a little loud but perfect atmosphere for drinking, the menu is hilarious too! A must visit if coming to Lancaster!!!

Really cool downstairs gaming room with a selection of arcade / retro games. I was disappointed with the food however, the burger and chips I had were expensive and not as good as I was hoping to be. Pints are also rather expensive

I visited this fabulous establishment for the first time yesterday with my Son, Nephew, Neice and my Neice's boyfriend, who were visiting us from another area and I have to say from walking in, to walking out our experience was FANTASTIC!! The staff were really friendly from the get go and the gaming room in the cellar was a MASSIVE hit with the teenagers I came with!! Now, onto the star of the show.... THE FOOD!! WOW!! WOW!! WOW!! We all ordered burgers of various varities with chips. Every single one of us said it was THE best burger(s) we'd ever had!! 😱 An absolute taste sensation!! The chips with the signature sauce were TO DIE FOR!! Like dipping chips in liquid heaven! My nephew is a chef and was trying his damndest to work out what was in the sauce! 🤣🤣 Even the seasoned salt they brought us to sprinkle on our chips was a delight on the palate! 🤤 Staff 10/10 🥰 Surroundings 10/10 🎮 Food 1000/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Coming back at the weekend, this time with my husband so I can experience it all again!! 🤩 A massive thank you to the staff for making it such a fantastic and memorable lunch for us! ❤️ xx

Really enjoyed our visit today. Staff were all incredibly friendly and accommodating. We ordered two burgers and upgraded our fries to the poutine with chicken and halloumi options with a side of gravy, a pint of coke and a kinder milkshake. We paid £40 and were completely stuffed! Would not hesitate to come back here, especially when we are less hungover so we can tried the great selection of craft beer and cocktails. Cheers

Really tasty. Love the sauce go with chips. Popped in with three friends, we changed our spot from outside to inside for coldness. Lovely stuff helped us to clean the table and served food with smile. Love the stuff.

This is some truly mind blowing flavour. No wonder that this restaurant has jetted to the top of Lancaster's online rankings. The fried chicken stacked poutine fries were outrageously good. Absolutely banging place for food & great atmosphere, if you haven't been you wil defo wanna go back as the burgers & chicken are Absolutely tasty😋 plus can't forget the gravy which is spot on 👍 & downstairs theres every retro arcade game can think of you can play , been here many times now & the staff & manager are so welcoming when you arrive.

Absolutely the place to eat in Lancaster! Had the 8 quid lunch menu and it's fantastic value. Get a huge amount. If you want a great burger and chips for the best value then forget Burger King or McDonald's, this is THE place to eat. Friendly staff and freshly cooked food. Awesome

As an American, I went into this with an “I’ll be the judge of this” attitude, but I gotta say, this was hands down the best burger I’ve had in the US or UK. Perfectly seasoned, flame grilled, good sized. Absolutely phenomenal. Huge portion or chips that were so moreish. Cannot fault this burger joint, 10 on 10. Worth the £18 train fare to get here. Will def be back.

Nice and friendly service. Took the £8 lunch deal and it's all worth it. The burger was really tasty and you get a decent portion of chips to go with it as well as a drink. Well worth the price will definitely go back for one of their speciality burgers.

Great pub & restaurant. The burgers were lovely and came with huge portions of lively seasoned fries. Cocktails and craft beers were very nice with a good selection to choose from. The only downside is there is very little seating available so can be a real struggle to get a table. There's an added bonus/surprise downstairs which will keep you and any older children entertained but I'm not going to spoil it for you here 😉

First in today, service was quick, the food was piping hot and tasted amazing! The menu is decent and the names are quirky and got a laugh out of me. Will be coming back again for an evening! Picture of my almost demolished meal because I forgot to take one before I started.

Worst service in all of Lancaster. Got yelled at by management for taking my time before ordering an overpriced and frankly disgusting drink. Rude staff ruined the night completely.

We went today 18-02-24 for some tea and I have to say that was the Best Food and Service I’ve had in a long Time. The Staff was Friendly and The Food was amazing!! I would Highly Recommend to anyone to try these guys. Overall I’m full up in a Food comer ha.

Not been out in Lancaster for a while, so no idea how long this place has been around, but it is an awesome little spot. Looks great, food was delicious, beer and cocktails decent price, everything hit the sweet spot to make this a great find to visit before we went to the cinema. Oh and did I mention there's a games room downstairs too, it could not be more delightful. Oh yes it could, there was also a young lad who came in with a guitar and family and who sang his heart out for everyone. Amazing. Best experience of a new bar in Lancaster I've had in a long time.

SMASHED IT! Second time back. This time we bought the kids. They loved it as much as us. They said can we come back everyday! Outstanding food and service.

Update: the owner has got back to us to apologise so I am increasing the rating from 1 to 2 stars, however the accessibility issues still remain. Hopefully that can be remedied and we'll have opportunity to try the food at some point in the future. We were highly recommended this place by a close friend as supposedly the food is excellent. However, we wouldn't know. My wife uses a wheelchair and whilst there was a steep ramp up to the door, one door is too narrow to fit the chair through and the other was bolted shut. Staff saw us struggling to get in, but continued cleaning, it was a customer who ended up opening the second door to help us. Once we got in we quickly saw there were no accessible tables. The only low tables had benches built into them so the wheelchair wouldn't have been able to get under them. At a push my wife could've transferred onto them, but as they had no back support available it would have caused her agony. There were 2 members of staff on. 1 was sorting out a large party and the other focuses on cleaning a table and not offering us assistance. After a couple of minutes of embarrassed waiting, with no assistance and whilst the only tables we could possibly be sit at were being set up for a party due later in the day we left, feeling totally ignored and embarrassed. TL:DR This place isnt currently accessible to those with mobility issues.

Went for lunch. Great atmosphere and excellent service. Burger lunch deal was superb. I can highly recommend this eatery / bar. The bar person was super friendly and chef very accommodating.

Probably the best place to eat and drink in Lancaster. If you want the nicest burgers and chicken meals and a good crack with the staff this is the place to go.....and they have Rattlers cider. What more do you want .

The food here is amazing, I had the O'Doyle Rules burger and it was amazing! You can order a pot of gravy to dip your burger and chips in too! This is a very popular place and was extremely busy when we arrived. The staff initially put us downstairs, but soon found a table for us upstairs. Staff were very friendly and the food and drinks exceptional.

This spot quickly secured itself as one of my local faves. The food is unreal, music is always great, and the staff are super nice. The drinks selection is also brilliant, and being able to pop downstairs and play all the super nostalgic games is fab.

The burgers we had were incredible. I had the Harry Potter themed burger and was honestly one of the best burgers I have eaten. My partner had one of the vegetarian burgers and said it was hands down the best burger she had ever eaten (vegetarian and non-vegi). The portion size was big, making it great value for money. The atmosphere was unlike the other places in Lancaster and a nice surprise of a small games room down the stairs. The staff were very friendly, which added a personal touch to the whole experience. We will be going back again and would highly recommend to try it out.

Everything was absolutely amazing!!! Food was so good, so much of it too so well worth it - drinks cheap and you really cannot beat the atmosphere, thank you alistair you and your team were brilliant!!
