Dined, food was okay. Asked for the bill, wanted to pay by card. Server Hassan, looked and punched more than our total bill, I asked why is it more expensive? He just goes and says i’ll get someone. No apologies, no explanation. If he apologized soon after his mistake, no problem. He seemed like he didn’t care, which made us angry. Someone else comes in, he said he’s the one in charge bec manager is on a holiday. Kay “the temporary manager” apologized and refunded. He didn’t even asked what happened. Seems so shady and very used to doing this to customers.

Not good. Scammers. They added more amount to my bill. Not even sorry or what so ever after mistake. Just punched bigger amount in the card machine, good thing I noticed it. Only refunded after I complained.

Be careful their waiters will scam you when you get the bill! We asked to pay with card, Hassan brought the terminal and quickly punched in more than our total bill. Good thing my husband was quick to check, unfortunately card was tapped already. No apologies, he just said i’ll get someone. Kay the “manager” said he will just refund. They look like they are used to do this, because upon leaving I saw Kay and Hassan and the other staff just smiling and giggling at the end of the resto.

Debated between Sheba, Bengal Tiger, and Aladin to grab Indian Food in Bricklane. Ultimately decided on Aladin because it was the busiest and seemed to have nice ambiance. We were aggressively approached by majority of the curryhouses with discounts and free round of drinks. Which may be a normal occurance to drive business. It can be a bit off putting and overwhelming. Overall the food was very average. We order a lamb curry, a mixed meat curry, two garlic Naan, and two sides of rice. The garlic Naan was not fresh. Too doughy and didn't taste great. The rice was bland and not fresh either. The lamb curry was decent. The mixed meat curry came out cold and we asked for them to remake it. The food took 30+ mins to be brought to the table. Was more annoyed by this dining experience than anything. I've had great Indian food in London and this was a massive disappoint. I don't recommend this place at all. Should try another spot on Bricklane. Sadly it's our last night in London and this is our last meal. Hope this review helps someone make a better decision. Try Sheba next door or Bengal Tiger

Amazing indian food, would definitely recommend! Great service too, my server was Farhan and he checked in with me regularly to see if the food was okay. They were trying to turn over the tables quite fast though even though it was 3pm and only 3 tables were full with no one waiting, but I didn’t mind.

This was THE BEST Indian food that I have ever had. The tandoori mix was excellent. Although, the food was good, the service exceeded exceeded my expectations. It was inviting. Farhan, made such a pleasant experience for me. For him, I will return.

We decided to have dinner at Aladin as we were walking down brick lane. We was greeted by a gentleman at the front door who offered us 20% discount off our bill, which was very nice of him to do so. Our waiter was Farhan who was very nice and friendly. The food was lovely and we enjoyed it. We will be coming back again.

You know how in the wild bright colours are used by nature to warn you? The wall of polymer pink here is your warning sign, and I did not heed it. First, I have to say that the servers were polite and smiley, so I feel bad for them, but the lamb chops I had were enough to warrant this one star review, my own warning to those who are not enthralled by the inviting 4.9 rating. Sinewy, hard, chewy, inedible.

After reading the reviews my partner and I decided to try Aladin over all the other Brick Lane curry houses. We pre booked which indicated 20% discount. Promising top quality fare and award winning cuisine what we received was pretty much mediocre. Maybe it being a Saturday, but the place was way too noisy, you couldn’t hear anything in a conversation without shouting at the top of your voice. Whilst this adds to character for many, it was rather tiring. Then the food. As stated, mediocre. Absolutely nothing special at all. Our local restaurants provide food with far greater delicate flavours, tastier garlic naan breads and main dishes that are a million miles away from a decent jar off the shelf of Sainsbury’s. Pilau rice is so much more than plain boiled rice with food colouring. I mean. Award winning fare? Absolutely not. Then the bill. Charged for many items we did not have and a refusal to honour the 20% discount plus a service charge meant a long discussion at the pay point. Avoid if you want something special. Absolutely fine for a group night out when you're all ready half steamed and won’t notice the blandness or the phantom items on the bill. The best curry's? The midlands. And no not from there but they are the best.

Who the heck is giving this place 5 stars? It’s really not good. We were excited to try this based on reviews, but oh dear, this was bad. First of all we were sat in the basement level, the noise level was extremely loud, huge parties of men/maybe stag dos shouting at one another mixed in with the servers shouting at one another. We also booked online & got no 20% off. The poppadoms were good, then the starter came. We decided to share the tandoori chicken - it was dry & bland, lacked flavour completely. Then it took what felt like ages to get our mains. We went for the lamb tikka masala, one royal kurma like dish, the garlic nan & pilau rice. Wow, were were completely underwhelmed. To be fair, the lamb was cooked good and the tikka masala was ok. The kurma like dish was watery & tasteless - I’ve never put salt on my curry before until now. It was up there with one of the most tasteless curries i’ve ever tried. The chicken had a rather bizarre texture - kind of squishy, not for me. The rice portion was pitiful. The garlic nan was ok I guess. We are from Glasgow & we are used to a high standard of Indian cuisine where we leave feeling extremely satisfied. This was a complete let down, I couldn’t wait to leave! This made us really appreciate how good our local Indian cuisines are back in Glasgow - hands down, a million times better than what we were served tonight. I would never eat here again! I most definitely would not recommend.
