Great food. The chicken tikka starter had so much flavour and was so moist. Papadam were good nice selection of chutneys and the onion based one was freshly prepared by its quality. Mains was the Chef’s Special Jalfrezi chicken … again wonderful flavours and a good portion size with pulao and one chapati I was full! I am a large person so full means plenty. Staff were wonderful very helpful and caring.

Amazing ambience and lovely staff. Been coming here for over a year now, and each time the food doesn’t fail. Special thanks to all the staff for being so hostable, and especially Muhit bhai who provides amazing customer service every time and makes us feel comfortable. If you’ve not come here before, you should defo try it! 10/10 everything!!

I held my graduation party here and they did an amazing job. The service and in particular, a worker called muhit was a great help and very friendly! I communicated with shopon who was very accommodating to my requests. The guests loved the party, the food and the atmosphere! Would definitely recommend!

I went there for q wedding reception and was very disappointed with the service and the food. The food was served very late, around 3pm instead of 1-2pm. When it was served, there wasn't enough food for everyone at the table and it started with salad only, while we were all very hungry. The waiters weren't doing their job of ensuring there was enough food and when we asked for more naan, we were given what was left from the other table. Overall extremely disappointed and I would not go there again. I definitely don't recommend it.

Held a birthday party at Desi Lounge and we were allocated to be downstairs but on the week of the party they had informed us about a change in seating area and we were moved to the entrance area due to work going on. On the day of the event, I noticed that other people from another event were going downstairs. We also had a backdrop and asked them to create space where possible, but very little was given…since we only had the entrance area our guests had to sit uncomfortably during the whole evening. Other than that the food was okay but didn’t impress me to the standard I thought it’d be at. We was also told verbally by the manager that we would be given “special” rice but instead we was given just plain rice. Also, whilst our guests were taking pictures the table was cleared and made space for people from another event and our guests couldn’t sit back down. In short, there wasn’t enough space due to many events going on at the same time and organisation wasn’t great.

The person Mr Muhit who looked after us in our dining, superb and fantastic , first class service, foods are delicious and nice environments as well.

Amazing vegetable biryani! We come here all the time and receive great service from Muhit, Mahi and Urmi. Staff are lovely and friendly and always look after us.

Customer service was excellent beautiful atmosphere the food was nice but it had a lot of masalas which ruined the whole taste of kebabs apart from that everything else was on point would highly recommended

Rude staff. When a potential customer expressed his willingness to spend money at the restaurant and wanted to use the restroom, the staff said there were no seats left and refused to let him use the restroom. Come on, you are a restaurant open until the evening, but you say you have no seats left?

Desi Lounge was fabulous it was the best Indian restaurant I have been to. The food was top notch and tasty and staff were attentive and lovely. I would definitely come back. I give this place 11 out of 10.

Very good food and service from Muhit

The food is nice but nothing special. And almost no vegetarian options! The waiter Muhid didn’t quite get our order correctly but he was lovely and attentive. The atmosphere was somewhat flat.

The food at this restaurant was decent, but the service left much to be desired. I had to ask the waiters more than twice for the same request, which was quite frustrating. Major improvements in service are needed. Other than that was a lovely venue to be in with family!

Absolutely brilliant local place. Local restaurants generally don’t have a good reputation but this place is a must try if you want good Indian food and excellent grills as well. The servers Muhit and Mahi are really helpful and they explain the menu really well.

Came here randomly, because my kid needed to eat and we were nearby. I was pleasantly surprised, tarka daal was delicious, service was great and the staff were exceptionally kind to my son. Thank you

We popped in as a last minute decision and for a quick bite to eat. Very well surprised. The mixed grill was well made, especially the chicken, which I normally find too dry in most restaurants. Mr Muhit was also very helpful from the moment we walked in, providing information on dishes, checking on condiment and additional requirements.

The food was so delicious and portions were generous - excellent service too! We had the chicken samosa and Buffalo wings for starters, followed by chicken bhuna, saag chana and binding chaji. It was all delicious, I could eat this garlic naan every day 🙏

Best bite I’ve had in the UK! I traveled all the way from America for my first time in Britain and this restaurant made the experience a 10/10. The owner and staff are incredibly welcoming and warm and the food nowhere short of amazing. Went back twice during my stay :)

I cant say ive tried the food cause i havent, when you see a Rat as big as dog come out the main front doors thats more than enough to put you off for life!

This was a really nice place. The food tasted fresh, the service was extremely kind and it was clean. We got recommended to come here and it was good. But the tea was phenonenal, it was my favourite out of the meal. We do recommend this place. We recommend the daal, biryani and the mint ginger tea and the price was great for the food and service we got. Recommend for tired people who want to eat a home cooked meal after a long day.

Stumbled upon Desi Lounge while looking for Indian food in Bethnal Green, and I couldn’t be more satisfied with this chance discovery, from the Shashlik Chicken to the the chutney, from the Garlic Naan to the Mango Lassi, everything was cooked to perfection and emanating with flavour I must return to try out the rest of the menu.

My mum and I went to Desi Lounge for lunch today and had an incredible experience here! I normally don’t leave reviews but the kind service we got here was impeccable. The food was very flavourful and filling, highly recommend their half chicken and sheekh kebabs. The owner was so hospitable and friendly the whole time. As Bangladeshis, we loved the environment here, and we spent ages chatting with all the staff! We’ll definitely be coming back! :)

I ordered two lunch boxes, the lunch box comes with lamb curry, vegetable curry and rice. Generous portion as well.

Muhit & Urmi thank you for the warm atmosphere and service given by you. The prawns briyani and naan was delicious.

Great Experience in Desi Lounge. Excellent decor and lovely staff members. Food was top tier too!

In summary, good service and the food was decent. The decor is nice and the restaurant is huge, on this occasion though it was just our group who were dining which meant it was an intimate dining experience. We went on a particularly hot day, they do not have air conditioning nevertheless the waiting staff did place a portable fan near us which helped a little bit. In relation to the food, the starters were passable however I found that the chicken wing starter was slightly undercooked. The mains were very good with decent portion size and the taste w and service was friendly and professional. Big shout out to the waiting staff especially the gentleman who was serving us. The prices are okay and as is the sign of the times, is on a slightly expensive side, a plate of loaded chips was £9! To summarise, the food was good and the service was also good.

Recently Went to Desi Lounge and I have to admit the service was impeccable in its entirety from the moment I entered. There were variety of drinks and then the main meal, which was delicious. As a family we had to offer our Maghrib salah and the management was very accommodating where they gave us plenty of space to do that. Will definitely return.

It was pretty amazing! Me and my friend walked down Bethnal Green Rd quite long , then we encountered beautiful forest green Victorian style tiles ! We entered and milion white flowers were attached to the ceiling, very pretty interior! Staff , especially Muhit and Mahi were so amazing ! We got some poppadoms free with sauses, then we ordered. Food was really well cooked and so fresh! I really recommend it!!!! Later on we were joined by our colleagues it was a very big group of us together! Poppadoms were given free to every single person/ table, it was amazing! Food arrived in covered brass pots, so cute! I loved it! Muhit was handing us tissues directly to each person and some even were brought take away boxes! He told me people don't know spices are good for us cause of Vitamin C- I didn't know it ! Interesting discovery ! So amazing !!! I was always confused when I walked past, as I couldn't understand what this place was. I am so happy I visited! Prices are really good, I am so happy this place is not overpriced ! The service staff, especially the waiters were so kind and professional ! Please go and visit , I walked past this place for so many years and was blind, instead I should have visited sooner! Go don't miss it! I highly recommend it!

Absolutely lovely food, lamb chops were sublime the meat curry had a fantastic array of spice which made it feel like a home made curry. Not our first first and sure won’t be our last.
